We've been going to Nargiz and ordering from them since the day they've opened. The food and service is consistently good! Delivery is very punctual - if you ask for it by 6 pm - it will be at your house by 5:55. Pilaf, liver, lamb ribs, lamb kebab, lula kebab, achiuchuk all excellent. Came here twice, and I would rate both time 5 stars!!! We had the avocado salad, different kabobs (chicken, lamb, beef), oxtails, green pilov, non and garlic fries. Everything taste amazing. The salad are fresh and the portion is huge. The pilov rice is very flavorful. Oxtail is tender but I wish the size is a little bigger (comes with 4 pieces of meat). Non is freshly baked from the kitchen, perfect with the salad. The kabobs are perfectly char grilled, and are so wallet friendly. I will definitely come back again. P.S. Everything was prepared once I arrived for pickup. No food was missing. For appetizer, we had shepherd's salad, eggplant salad, fried liver cubes, samsa, and manti. The salad was fresh with a generous portion of parsley. I liked how the feta cheese was not overwhelming. The liver cubes were mild; I'd even recommend them to someone trying liver for the first time. All five appetizers were good. As a fan of and , I couldn't go wrong with the . For dinner, we ordered all of the kebabs and the lamb chops. All of the meats were tender. I highly recommend the Lulya kebab to anyone who like Adana kebab. We also had the which is a great dish consisting of rice, tender lamb, chickpeas, and thin carrot slices. It was certainly my favorite dish. My Husband and I came here to have lunch one day to try out some Uzbeki/ Russian Cuisine. The place had a huge line, but we got seated pretty quickly. Upon entering and being seated I looked around and realized that every single person in the restaurant was of Uzbeki/ Russian Decent and it began to feel a bit uncomfortable. I felt like we were the only outsiders here. Nevertheless, we began to order our food. We had the Mantu (Steamed Meat Dumplings), 2 Skewers each of the following Kabobs: Beef, Lamb and Chicken. We also ordered the famous Uzbeki Lamb Pulao and Salad. The kabobs were pretty good, though my favorite was the Beef Kabob. The Uzbeki Pulao was very oily and had a distinct flavor to it (I've had better). The salad was also ok. We were in this establishment yesterday and it was an absolute disgusting disaster. The biggest problem was a filth. The tables were greasy, the menu sheets were greasy, the toilets were so filthy, used toilet paper scattered over the floor, no soap in the soap dispensers, the floor was all wet and with I could only guess what. And the waiters and cooks used the same toilets as the customers, so you can imagine what kind of of sanitary standards exist in the kitchen if the cooks don't use soap after visiting a toilet. I'll have the Uzbek plov, the Samsa (meat and pumpkin), the fried potatoes with mushrooms, the avocado salad, the lamb kebabs and that amazing bread. So to explain the words I just listed in my prior paragraph you must understand that this is not russian food. It would be an insult to the Uzbek people to call it russian food. This is authentic food that is from Uzbekistan and made with the most love and care which is why it's so delicious. I'll start describing what I ate and if your mouth isn't salivating by the end, well my dear you are a spoiled food brat. Now let's begin. Avocado salad, perfect dressing and balance of cucumbers, tomatoes, and avocados (among other vegetables). The pumpkin and meat Samsa was delicious! The meat was perfectly minced and the pumpkin was so well made, it's as if the dough and pumpkin were soul mates and formed the most amazing thing. It's special I tell you. The fried potatoes with mushrooms was a major hit. Perfectly fried and seasoned with parsley. Just delicious, soft but still firm. That's what fried potatoes are all about and nargis knows wassup! The bread they brought was hot and perfectly crispy. Just delicious but careful, you won't have enough room to try the rest of what I'm describing! The Uzbek plov was perfectly balanced with the meat in the center and rice mixed with carrots among other things. Meat was tender and soft and went perfectly with the rice. Last but not least, the lamb kebabs had me. They were soft, tender, juicy, and so perfectly grilled. The onions in the plate were also delicious! Everything was amazing. And the price is what surprises you. My friend and I feasted and still had leftovers and the bill was under $50! Amazing! So yeah, you can say I enjoyed myself here. And you will too! read more

Oh i so wish if they had one in the South as well :) Was introduced to this Uzbek spot by a friend and my O my it was the best fresh food ive had in a long long while. I have to start with the SERVICE it is amazing and they go all out to make sure you are taken care off. Got seated pretty fast , noticed if its just 2 its easier to get a table if more than 2 you will have to wait. Food- Bread was brought as soon as we seated and we started off with the nargis salad and uzbek lamb palao. One of the freshest salads ive had and tasty, every vege in the salad was fresh and perfect. The palao tasted amazing and the lamb meat was mouth watering. We then ordered some Grill items, chicken on bone was the special for today, regular chicken, beef skewers and lamb. Every item was mouth watering and you had to order more and more. Best part bout this place are the prices, which is very resonably priced you would expect it would be more expensive oh no everything is under 5$. The service at this place is terrible. More than twice that I came here, they lied about the reservations. They confirmed and when I showed up with a several friends they said that nothing was available for over two hours. The people at the entrance were rude and I'm never coming back. 1 star for a Mother's Day experience I just had --- ordered $225 worth of food for pick up and paid in advance. Walked out with a bag 25min after the order was supposed to be ready only to have to back because the bag had nothing but PLATES. The girls who take the calls are rude and cursed me out in Russian (oh hey I speak Russian) when I walked in asking for the actual order. I made the manager check all the proper food against the receipt - honestly if you can't handle the volume stay closed on mother's day because you just ruin an otherwise good food experience. Right from the level of professional service we received from the young but professional staff, I knew, to my relief, that good service was assured. Salads ranging from Herring topped with shoestring onion rings, to a more refreshing Nargis salad, what a wonderful start to a hot summers night in the out door seating area. Chicken Lamb and Beef Kabob's were all excellent, cooked to a juicy and semi seared perfection. Came here on a weekend for lunch with friends. They made reservations beforehand, and booked two tables as it was a celebration of someone's birthday. Food came out pretty quick, with the pumpkin samsa(very tasty), and the house salad with feta. The lamb manti was a bit too gamey for my taste even with the dollop of sour cream still can't cut the smell away. The Chicken kebabs came out on these metal skewers that was seasoned just right with its juice still on the meat, it was one of the best dishes of the meal. Nargi's cafe used to be the best place to go out and eat but lately, I'm guessing they changed owners which changed everything. The prices went up like crazy, the food started to taste worse which doesn't make any sense at all.. One time I cane here ordered grilled vegetables on grill the waitress brings it out looks delicious but was about to take a bit I smelled fish, called the waitress back and guess what she does she picks it up and sniff it right in front of me and I'm looking at her like what the hell did she just do she just sniffed it ( literally very close to her nose) & says doesn't smell like fish and places it back on my table I just called the manger and he removed it from my bill. This place went from 5 star to 1 star. Would not recommend they need to change a lot read more

Now this was prior to Covid so I dined inside, which is a little close but theres good music and the staff are friendly. My wife and I did a little sampling of the more popular dishes and found everything to be spicy but too spicy and definitely fresh. I would give zero stars if I could. My husband and I went there last night for dinner and we had a terrible experience. We used to go to Nargis at the old location and it was amazing. They completely changed. The food was ok-when we finally got it. I got my entree after about 30 minutes and my husband got it about 30 minutes after that. The service was terrible. Some other table got my husbands food and then the very thing that we ordered never came and they still charged us for it. When we spoke to the managers they apologized but only agreed to comp one item because they gave us a kebab on the house (that we didn't want or ask for, probably someone else's order). I must've passed by this long time Sheepshead Bay restaurant that serves up Uzbek and Russian cuisine a hundred times so it was time to give it a try. Started with the roasted eggplant and garlic spread which was delicious when dipping the fresh out the oven Uzbek bread. Next was the samsa: meat and onion minced pies that were absolutely delicious. The plov was tasty as were the chicken and lamb kebobs. Fancier digs than most restaurants in the area with a nice dining room and attentive, top notch service. How did I not ever try Uzbekistan food before? One of the most delicious Eastern European meals I have ever had!!! THIS IS NO JOKE From the beginning of our meal we ordered tons of drinks, breads, salads and appetisers. None have disappoint. The samosa and fried dumplings filled with lamb was succulent and filled with so much flavour. The beef rice pilaf was so delicious!!!!! The sea bass skewers were succulent a mist order every time. The beef skewers were so juicy and tender. For dessert we had Creme brûlée and the chocolate molten cake All to die for! We found out that they do not have a liquor license but we could bring our own bottle. Too late for that! We placed our drink and dinner order. When our drinks came we were approached by our waiter and another staff member who asked if we would mind moving to another table, because they needed that one for another party. After we moved, we noticed that no one even occupied the table we had freed up. Some of the food such as some grilled vegetables had a funny after taste. There was also a problem because all the food came out except one entree, and by the time it did the rest of the table was finished. The dessert was not worth the $11. It tasted several days old, not fresh at all. We were tired of waiting and brought our bill and credit card up to the front and told the person there what an unpleasant evening it had been. All she could say was, "Sorry! But we're very busy." It was certainly not worth the $235.00 bill for the terrible service. I would not go back there again. read more

The food here is delicious and overall the service is pretty good. It is very busy restaurant which is definitely a good sign but expect to wait during peak times. My main complaint is that there is not enough space in between table so its definetly not romantic or a place to go and have a conversation with your party. It feels like the table near you is on top of you. That being said it is a good spot for a family style meal where noise and privacy are not factors. The kebabs appetizers and salads are all feshly prepared and packed with flavor. I love all the kebabs I've tasted there including lamb, beef, chicken, salmon. I highly recommend the seasoned French fries, the achichuk salad with cheese and the avocado salad is also amazing. For appetizers the mante and samsa are the way to go. Really enjoyed the authentic food at Nargis Cafe. It was delicious! The service was great, our waiter Oleg was very nice and pleasant. We had hanum, Nargis salad, Lagman which is a must try, lepeshka (Uzbek bread), potatoes with mushrooms and lamb kebab. The kebab comes with delicious sauce, which we also got to go. My only comment is that we got the sauce to go as well but it was really half of the container and not a full one, otherwise I would give 5 stars. read more
