Located in Humble/Atascocita area this is one of my fav places to eat and top Thai places around because I never leave unsatisfied. I frequent this place because of the great food and service. I think because I often come here, the regular servers know what is needed so maybe I have a leg up on there. Thai tea is the popular drink and never disappoints especially when you order extra spicy on your dishes. I usually start off with either Tom Yum soup or Tofu triangles. When I'm not feeling well, I get the Tom Yum soup medium or spicy because it gives me the extra kick I need to wake me up and open up my senses. If you don't say anything about how spicy you want it, they won't put anything even if it lists spicy on the menu, so I suggest you say mild, medium or spicy, but let me warn you their medium is already spicy. My other favorites are the pad see eww and pad thai noodles which are also popular dishes around, but my go to dish is the panang curry. I went yesterday and it was my second visit, and it was just as good as my first time there. I had chicken and shrimp pad Thai and it's the best I've had in Houston!! I also tried the Anothai fried rice, and I do not like fried rice but their's is sooo good! It doesn't have that fried, sticky, and stuck to the bottom of the skillet taste I loathe. I didn't try the Thai tea nor dessert but I will next time, but I must say even the water was good. The service was excellent, I couldn't ask for anything more. Enjoyed dinner here tonight. I ordered Pad Prik Khing, with chicken and asked for spicy, which is one level lower than Thai spicy. I enjoy spicy food and I got my moneys worth with this meal. Food was very tasty and was brought to the table in a timely manner, 7:15 on a Friday night. I will definitely visit here again and recommend to anyone. I finally found my Thai place! The service is great, your greeted once you enter and can choose where you want to sit. Also the waiters are very attentive and nice. I love chicken so of course I ordered Teriyaki Chicken with jasmin rice and Thai Ice Tea. Omg the Thai ice tea was sooo good, it had the perfect sweetness to it that I could not stop drinking it lol. Modern--red and gray. my husband likes the pad thai and i like the tofu basil eggplant. spring roll is pretty good--bright and healthy tasting. Got a curry dish once and it was good, but I'm stuck on the basil eggplant and always get that. We've been eating here for about four years, and it's gotten busier and busier, so I don't feel like I can comment accurately on the service because the staff has expanded. Me and a few friends have given this place a couple of chances to prove us wrong on the awful customer service but after this last experience, I give up. In my opinion dining out is more than delicious food, it's the atmosphere plus most importantly the customer service and this place lacks the genuine customer care you look for. The first experience was that they forgot to put our order when were dining in so we sat there for an hr waiting for our food while everybody else around us got their food then the waitress comes up to us and says " we are short on staff, food will be out shortly" That didn't make sense since people who came in after us and ordered after us received their food before us. Manager never came by to apologize or offer any way to make it up to us. Second experience, I order red curry to go, the lady working the bar slid the check across the bar to me, and put my to go order on the bar, she didn't say thank you or nothing!! And they charged me extra for the side of rice since it was a "to go order".according to her if you sit down at the restaurant and order red curry it's unlimited rice but If you order to go they charge you for a second bowl. Third time, we walked in to eat at 915pm, with the sign on the door saying they close at ten And the same waitress said to us the restaurant wasn't open for dining in but to go orders were still available.when I pointed to the door saying they closed at ten she recoiled " ya the manager wrote that wrong". Not for me. The food here tasted more like Chinese than Thai; they even use corn starch to thicken their sauces, which is something I've never seen at a Thai restaurant. Love this restaurant! I am from California where I have experienced many fabulous Thai restaurants so I can be picky, but in my opinion Nara is the some of the better Thai in Houston. Everything I have tried has been excellent and always consistent for both dine in and takeout. Service has is pretty attentive, even when they are busy like tonight. Standouts include: Tom Kha Kai, chicken curry puffs, red curry, panang curry and pad kee mao and mango sticky rice. I have yet to try the spicy catfish but heard its excellent. I would suggest ordering medium as its already pretty spicy! Prices are resonable. My only complaint is the timing of dishes. My entree is usually brought while I'm still eating my soup or appetizer so I wish there was some space in between. read more

Everything was a-ok until we got to the end of the meal. The restaurant was crowded, and people were waiting to be seated. But we wanted dessert, goshdarnit! The waiter didn't bother to offer dessert before bringing the check, I assume because he wanted to move us along so someone else could use our table. So when he brought the check, we ordered the mango sticky rice. He had the nerve to serve it to us in a TAKE OUT BOX!!! Hello. We had said nothing about getting dessert to go. Very nice atmosphere around lunchtime. Nice priced menu also. I love papaya salad and I would pat the cook on the shoulder and tell him good job but his ass put fish sauce but nothing to combat it. Too freaking salty man mouth tasted like a ocean after I was done. Pad Thai was decent with a great portion size. The Penang curry was full of carrots cuz they are too cheap to put veggies in it. I got the pad thai and it was delicious. Flavorful and a big helping, I honestly had trouble finishing it and I normally eat a lot. They had crayons out and a sheet on the table, which I thought was neat. I had fun coloring on the table while we waited for our food (I drew a cat!) I ordered a THai milk tea , it was way too sweet so I topped it off with water to water it down a little. More tea for me I suppose. Wasnt sure why paper was covering the beautiful cloth underneath. One of my favorite restaurants for fresh, well prepared and delicious food. The curries are spot on in heat (for me), the vegetables are not overcooked and the rice is perfect. Not fond of their beef as it's rather tough but all other protein choices are great.
