They offer fresh produce, pantry items, raw meat and seafood on one side of the store and the opposite side they offer deli meats, fresh salads, sandwiches made to order, hot food and a variety of togo options. The market is not that big inside but it is very clean, beautifully organized and their employees are very nice. It makes the experience just a little more enjoyable. I haven't been here before and I originally came for the wild wonder drinks, but I found myself to try their fresh sourdough bread and fresh salads. Definitely a little more expensive than your typical grocery stores around town but it is worth the visit.

The service was welcoming and kind, and I loved the windows and wood accents inside which made for a nice relaxing atmosphere - it was a beautiful day outside so I sat at one of the many small foldable chairs/tables outside. The offer adorable plates for pastries to enjoy there. I got a lemon verbena pastry, and a fig leaf latte. I like that their offerings are a bit unique, and the pastry was delicate, tasty, though a little less crisp that I'd like - perhaps because it was later in the day? The fig leaf latte was also tasty - though I couldnt really taste a big difference between the fig leaf syrup and vanilla - it seemed to be missing a little something to really bring out the fig leaf flavor. Overall, a cute little cafe to grab a pastry and coffee at, and I'd like to come back earlier in the day to try some of the other pastries! A little pricier than some of the other pastries in the area, but they're definitely a little more elevated here :)

She was attentive, friendly, and funny. And she knew exactly when to step in and offer great suggestions. The server assistants were also top-notch, stepping in frequently to refill our waters and offering to get us to-go bags when we finished our meal. The stellar service made the evening unforgettable and super-special. The food was also outstanding. I had the pork cutlet with capers and butter -- absolutely delicious! The cutlet was thin with a wonderfully crispy exterior and soft, buttery interior. The sauce on top didn't overwhelm the meat. The portion was so huge I enjoyed leftovers for lunch the next day. Other members of our party got the seafood and meat pastas (universally praised for freshness and perfectly cooked pasta). The appetizers were standouts as well, including the lightly fried olives with anchovies (a real surprise since the anchovies were mellowed by the cooking process but kept their savory deliciousness). The chop salad was also a revelation. Overall, we could not have asked for a better experience. We will gladly return to Scala when we are back in Napa!

Their website is beautiful to look at and informative. I also bought their bean cookbook. I subscribed to their emails and recently got the important news that their new store opened on Main Street and only a few blocks away from the Napa farmer's market. The store is very modern with wood floors, large windows and lots of light. They don't carry all the beans online but they do carry a good amount. I got some special black beans (Frigik Negro de Vara), very pretty green split peas and a new rare variety that goes bad fast (Flor De Junio bean) and a special fresh tumeric spice (see photos). I'm excited to try the new items. It is nice that they have dried Porcini mushrooms and morel mushrooms you can use in their bean soup. The porcini mushrooms are the brand that Rancho Gordo recommends and you can get 1.43 Oz for $19. They have interesting high quality spices and I bought a tumeric. They had samples of cooked beans. The ladies were friendly at the counter. I'm definitely returning to get more products!
