I didn't realize why everyone calls this place Panda Hotpot until I walked in and saw all the pandas everywhere. It's been on my list for a while, and it definitely lived up to the hype! The soup bases are actually better than Haidilao, which I wasn't expecting. I went with the trio pot because it felt necessary. We did the bone broth, beef tallow (medium spicy), and coconut chicken. The coconut chicken was my favorite. Slightly sweet, really clean, and light. Very comforting! It's perfect for veggies like cabbage and tofu, and it comes with chicken that you add in yourself. I'd order that again without hesitation. There's a wide variety of options and everything tasted fresh. The DIY sauce bar is solid and has everything you need, but the surprise was the dessert station. Being able to make your own dessert at the end was a nice touch and actually pretty good. Service was attentive throughout. Jeremy took care of us and made the whole experience smooth. Overall, strong spot. I'd come back.
Lovely spot with parking close by. Warmly greeted upon entry and two small stations - sauces and desserts! Lots of food options to try which come out quickly once added to the iPad order. I was only enjoying seafood options and I felt that there was a sufficient amount and a pork free broth for me!
So first off. This isn't a AYCE. It's a la carte. Don't get me wrong. Their selections are SLIGHTLY better then going to an ayce hotpot but for that price I would say they market it in a smart way with this whole "membership deal" you get discounts, and points and you get merch! Yes, MERCH! they target your kids with all these panda theme things and have them drooling for them. Entices you to sign up which is "free" so what you spend can turn into points where you can get merch and discounts for your meals. If you add it all up it's not THAT bad but they make sure that you get a bit of credits where it makes you come BACK again cause you don't want to waste the credits away. SMART! They also collab with the bubble tea next door where you can get a variety of choices and different sizes. Which again sugar up your kids. Did I also mentioned they have a freaking dessert station!? like make your own boba, grass jelly, soft tofu with toppings kind of dessert station. I'm not gonna lie. I made like 3 different kinds myself. Overall, for the price compare to others out there. It's not THAT bad. Service is on point and quick, their sauce stations are always clean and full, they have fancy soy sauces and it's complimentary of course part of your meal to make. Some places charges which is insane! I don't really see myself coming here again cause it is pricey. Granted they have some items that you won't see at ayce's. But, it's something I can live without. Just get me my lamb and beef and im all set! with the boba in hand of course! Parking can be a pain on the streets. They do have their own "lot" but it's tight so just be careful of driving in or out of it.
A very cute panda themed hotpot restaurant located on Northern Blvd, it has very limited parking in the back of the building so I would try to find street parking. I find the ingredients to be pretty good but also more expensive than other hot pot locations. They advertise their membership everywhere by putting the membership price on every single item. They had a decent sauce station with a few appetizers such as kimchi and cold noodles. Overall even though the quality was good, I feel like there are better options in Queens since its really saturated with hotpot restaurants. Went to three different hot pot places and finally got a seat in at this one. It was just a very cold snowy day and everyone wanted hot pot with long waits. We called and got lucky! We sat down, ordered and put on some bibs! They provided new boxes of tissue at every table to blow your nose from the spicy sauces. The bibs really saved our shirts. Next door is a tea shop that has a connecting slide door. Almost everyone goes next door to get some tea or milk tea to bring back over to enjoy hot pot with. The meat was excellent quality. They have so many more vegetable choices than what is offered in CA. Their dessert bar is phenomenal! There's the sweet tofu desert, red bean dessert, ice cream, candied fruit sticks, and more! I loved the booth seating. It was quite warm inside. You will leave smelling like hot pot, FYI. I am so glad we came here.
The dishes were very fresh and nicely presented. This Panda themed restaurant was very spacious too. There's a sauce station and a dessert station. The 2nd floor had a few tables but mainly was being used for staff to eat from what I saw that day. We enjoyed Fatty beef, beef tongue, fish tofu, tofu skin, ramen, and boneless duck feet. All came out to about $100 before tax. if you get their membership, it is cheaper but you have to purchase a set amount upfront. I paid $200 to receive $220 value and saved $9 on the meal. Next door is Tea Pulse too! get some egg tarts and boba while you're here.
The service here is amazing. Our servers were constantly fast with our food, requests and even checking in on us and helping us pack our food. One of them even passed by my mom at the dessert bar and saw she couldn't reach the cups and gave her one. The food was delicious, we had a three way pot since we all wanted different broths. The sauce bar and the dessert bars were stacked with so many toppings. Lots of ice cream too. We'll definitely be back again!!
The service was excellent, friendly, attentive, and efficient, but the food didn't live up to it. The coconut chicken broth was much too sweet for my taste, and the vegetable selection was pretty limited, which was disappointing since that's a big part of the hot pot experience for me. Overall, it was underwhelming, especially for a $100+ meal. That said, it's very kid-friendly, even with a station of sweets and treats. The noise level reflects that, lively and on the louder side.
Stopped by for some hot pot, sauce station is convenient and the dessert/ drink/snack/ fruit bar is great! There's coconut milk and milk tea, some candied grapes and coffee/vanilla ice cream. I tried 3 different broth, my favorite was the medium spicy soup, it's mostly oil but great for cooking meat, pay in cash for a discount. They'll give you a raffle for getting their giftcard. friendly staff and cute spot!
Love the takeout Malatang. So worth it! I can get a whole bowl for $10. This saved me on the night before the storm.
First time trying Nanshan hot pot and surprised by the cute panda themed decor throughout the restaurant all the way to the panda themed bucket hats on the wait staff. Being this was our first time, they walked us thru the selection on the IPad and let us know we can order drinks next door from Teapulse. That was nice. Both meat and seafood selection were a good variety. Where things fell short was having to pay an additional price for the sauce bar, which I think should've been included. The good news: the broths were flavorful enough, that you really didn't need to dip into sauce. However, there was no order around it, people were cutting and crossing over each other. There was only one bathroom, which seemed odd for a place that size.' I'd come back again and try this on a weekday , as we were here for lunch on a weekend which was slightly busy.
Just wanted to share a quick food find--Nanshan Hotpot finally opened a location around our area, and I checked it out for the first time. The experience was honestly great! From the moment I walked in, the service was warm and welcoming. They even gave us hand towels when we sat down, which was such a nice touch. Right now, they're running a special: $139 for a 22-item hotpot set--super worth it for the quality and amount of food you get. If you're into hotpot or looking to try something new, I definitely recommend giving it a shot.
Came here for lunch with family and i gotta say the decor is amazing. The place is decorated with panda theme, lots of utensils have some form of panda into it, and we got to even see a panda dancing in between. I think the only missing item would be panda doll that could be dipped into the pot to melt and to become part of the soup... I gotta say I was impressed that they were selling some panda memorabilia and giving out some panda freebes if you met some $ quota The service is attentive and you get to order everything thru the ipad and they bring the food to you. We choose three soup bases: spicy, tomato, and fruits broth The proteins and veggies were a bit pricey imo. And the flavor was alright... I had better elsewhere...

Food: 5/5 This is the best hotpot I've had. What separates it is the broth. We got the two broth pot with the coconut chicken broth and the mushroom broth. The coconut chicken broth was amazing and a must order every time. All the meats, seafood, vegetables, and noodles were very fresh. There's also a dessert bar to make your own dessert. Service: 5/5 The service is extremely quick. The moment you finish a dish, they'll be over to take it off your table. Everyone's very friendly and helpful with explaining how to order. Ambiance: 5/5 The ambiance is modern, spacious, and lively without feeling overcrowded. The restaurant has a sleek setup with comfortable seating and a clean, upscale feel that elevates the typical hotpot experience. I've always seen how incredibly busy Nanshan is during my Teapulse runs next door, so my husband & I were curious about the hotpot experience here. We came during the nor'easter weekend, and I guess other families had the same idea for hotpot! We joined the waitlist at 6:35pm as a party of 2, and still had to wait about 1.5 hours for a table. It seems like they take phone reservations too. I wouldn't say that I was particularly impressed by the overall hotpot experience here. It was good, in the same way that most a la carte hotpot places are. The broths were tasty, though not as flavorful as I would have liked. We opted for the 3 flavor pot with the pork bone, chicken + pork tripe, and the mala beef tallow. Mild spice is truly mild - I would opt for the regular if we ever come back. Protein options are plentiful, but leafy veggie options were somewhat limited. The sauce bar is abundant (also added price), and the dessert bar was a nice touch. Service was decent with broth refills. Decent hotpot, would not wait 1.5 hours for it again. read more

I went here with a few friends and it was a really nice time! They have their own parking lot but I managed to find parking right in front. We ordered a tomato soup base which was savory and delicious and another soup base which was kinda good too. Overall I think this is a nice hot pot place, I can't say it's the best I've ever had but it's definitely one of the better tomato soup bases I've had. The meal came with a rice, meat cheese dish which I believe you just eat alone as an app, instructions were unclear so we accidentally put some of the cheese in the soup base LOL. The panda theme occurring throughout the restaurant was super cute! The meats we ordered were fine, nothing extraordinary. We came here for Luna's New Year's Eve for dinner. The theme is decked out with panda bears everywhere. They gave a red envelope with $10 vouchers and a panda bear to kids. You have to place the order on an iPad. We order all sorts of beef and lamb, I must say we can't tell a difference. Don't bother ordered the prime meat . Great service, high quality ingredients and clean space. Price is definitely on the higher side but you get what you pay for. My daughter enjoyed all the cute pandas around the restaurant. To eat we had a lot of vegetables, noodles, an order of fish and one order of meat and we were full. I enjoyed the chicken and tomato broth. We had also gotten a bubble tea from tea pulse next door. Not sure if they're affiliated. There seems to be membership pricing right now instead of the grand opening discount. They also have baskets or blankets for your jackets and bags so you don't leave smelling like Hotpot. A great addition to the neighborhood! read more

Came here today as a party of 4 for their soft opening. We arrived around 6:30 and were seated at 7:45. After putting our names on the waitlist, we stopped by Tea Pulse and headed back to Nanshan to wait. We put in our order on the iPad quickly and proceeded to get our sauces made. One of thier sauces was extremely salty- I ended up trying to add more peanut sauce to mellow it out but it didn't help. Not sure what it was but I ended up not using my sauce much. The chicken with fruit broth was interesting- I think some papaya and pear inside? The tomato broth was good but tasted a tiny bit salty for my taste too when I tried it plain. For beef, we tried the American beef and the angus beef karubi. The American beef was the typical fatty beef you'd get at hotpot, very fatty but tasted a little more tender than the karubi. All the other veggies, seafood and fish balls we got were good! With them being in soft opening still, I'd say service could be improved a little. Our enoki mushroom never came from our first round of ordering. We also ordered noodles and beef for our last round and it took awhile to come. We had to ask them 3 separate times to check in on the remaining items as we were just sitting around with no food left to eat. Overall, I'd definitely be back! Parking is free after 6pm? Downstairs which is convenient. Can be a little tight if you come later though. Prices seemed pretty good for the quantity and quality you get. Loved the cute panda theme everywhere too! read more

Went into our first hotpot with my wife and loved everything about this place. We were warmly greeted by a young Chinese server. He took his time and recommended all the food for us going down to even cleaning our shrimp. He was the best part about the whole experience. Plus the atmosphere was great as well. We even won a gift for my daughter in the end. Definitely recommend. Wish I would've gotten his name. read more

While we are still considering to line up at the Flushing downtown one, a new branch of Panda hotpot opened in bayside. It is still in the soft opening period so there is 12% discount and raffles regularly. It was fun to be in the place because there are panda everywhere. The most cutest thing was the panda oil statues on the rotating panda stand. Totally instgramable. Food are fresh. Especially like the freshly grounded sesame sauce for dipping. The whole experience was enjoyable and satisfying. read more

This has been my 2nd time eating here and I have to say the food and ambiance is very nice. They have this panda theme going on and the place is not overly tight and comfortable. The service is fast and the waiter and waitresses are quite tentative. The food in general is all very fresh. Very good cuts of meat. They have a pretty large food selection and offer many things. I like how they have a bubble tea spot that is quite good that is attached and connected. You can choose to order from the menu to have the drinks brought over, however the selection is not the full menu. The egg tarts that is offered is very good, one of the better for sure. My younger son really enjoys this place and the two times we have went, the kids would offered a panda toy. I have also now signed up to be a member and basically just prepaying. However this allows you to member discounts and also depending on the dollar amount you purchase you will receive bonus money to use. read more

SOFT OPENING: 11/25 - 12/4 Nanshan Hot Pot is a new panda-themed hot pot establishment in NYC with two locations: one in Flushing and the other in Bayside. While the Flushing location has been open for just over two months, the Bayside location (this one!) is currently in its soft opening phase. During this period, enjoy 12% off EVERYTHING! And, for every $100 spent, get a $10 gift voucher to redeem adorable panda-themed merch (plushies, hair clips, notebooks, and more) from their display window! They offer a variety of broths, which although delicious, are non-customizable (you can't mix and match). We went with their Creative Three Flavor Broth with Panda Butter, which consists of their signature fruit-flavored chicken broth, house-special spicy broth, and tomato broth. As for the ingredients, everything was fresh and of high quality. The meats were beautifully marbled and tender (with some just melting in your mouth) while the vegetables were sweet, crisp, and refreshing. That said, be mindful that when you order, there are two prices: the membership prices in red and the original prices in black. Since their membership system has yet to launch, you're paying the original prices in black! read more
Stopped by on a Friday evening around 530pm with a party of 4 and was seated immediately. There is an iPad by the entrance with a waiting list you can add yourself onto if you choose to come back at a later time. The host greeted me upon entering and the service was friendly and professional the entire time. Nanshan is tastefully decorated with panda memorabilia throughout. They even sell some merch for all the panda lovers to bring home a little memento. We started with the trio broth and added the panda shaped butter, which was super cute. The broth was delicious and food was very fresh. The sauce bar had lots of options, was very clean and well maintained. It also appeared that they churn their own peanut butter which was kinda cool. Wagyu was overpriced of maybe 8-10 thin slices, but had good marbling. My favorite was their homemade shrimp paste. They have a hand-pulled noodle that is prepared for you table side, however do not expect them to dance for you like they do at Haidilao. Our waiter was great. I wish I remembered his name, but he was tall and wore glasses. We celebrated our friends' birthday here and he assembled a crew of waiters to sing a birthday song for us. All in all, we had a great time. It doesn't have all the frills as Haidilao does, but it was comparable, for sure. I loved that they are affiliated with Tea Pulse, it was nice being able to order bubble tea next door and have it delivered to our table. read more

Brand new location, everything was very well presented. Hotpot soup base was very good. We ordered their house special papaya chicken, mala spicy, and pork bone. They also refill with the same soup instead of broth or water. Very good experience, will come back again. read more
