Called and spoke with one of the Mechanics to see what part needed to be ordered for my car that was taken to the shop yesterday morning (9/18/25) but unfortunately he was extremely condescending and dismissive when asked about the part(s). We like to think that we live in a world of equal opportunity but when it comes to automotive-repair, many women are treated unfairly due to misogynistic attitudes. If I can give this auto shop 10 stars I would! This is a family owned business in which they won't blow smoke up your butt. I have taken three of my cars here. A 2016 Jeep patriot, a 2015 Kia forte with a turbo and my work vehicle here and I will die on my soapbox saying these guys are number one. My jeep patriot needed a rear differential, and Ricardo told me exactly what it was and how it is. After taking my 2015 Kia forte to several other shops (after going to this particular shop in which they told me that I needed a new Turbo) I held off on getting the new Turbo because we knew that it was going to be an expensive investment. I reluctantly tried to find a less expensive option and with these lesser expensive options, not one time was I told that I was going to need a new Turbo (I kept this information in the back of my brain to see how the other mechanic shops would treat me) This could have been debunked with Sim check engine light code in which I was never told by the other Shop. To make a long story short, because I tried to find the less expensive route ended up having to not only get a new turbo, but a new engine. With my tail stuck between my legs and with my subconscious telling me I told you so I came back to the shop and Boy oh boy! These guys have this car running as it was straight out of the Kia factory! A big sinks to this family owned business; Mr. Samuel, Ricardo, and his brothers for not only keeping it real with what was wrong with my car, but making my car ride like 1 million bucks. I will forever recommend this place to who Ever needs any type of work done to their car. read more

Went to Nankee Auto Repair as a referral. Spoke to the manager about why I was there (to get a quote for replacing an "Active Grille Shutter"). The manager and other employees did not recognize the name of the man that referred me for a good ten minutes, until I had to mention that he is an employee of a nearby company. Waited in the office for over twenty minutes, because the employee who would look at my car was late. When he did arrive, he briefly checked the car's grille, and stated that I would have to purchase the piece needed and he would assemble it for $185. He stated that I could either purchase the motor for $60, or the entire grille for $190. I asked where to purchase them from, he dismissingly said to "look it up." When asked which should be purchased (motor or entire grille), he said to purchase the latter, but could not explain why. Would not recommend this shop to another female, since they are very dismissive and rude. Note: there was a male client who they spoke to respectfully to and communicated thoroughly with. read more

When I lived in Laurel, this was the best auto shop. They never tried to go over on me, very honest, very friendly and great work! Highly recommend for your car repairs!! I Use To Go To Another Dealership And Friend For My Repairs Until Getting Completely Ripped Off. I Got On Google And Searched For Best Auto Center In Maryland To Get My (Crown Vic) Injection Fuel Injector Changed Out. I Ran Across This Shop After Reading Multiple Reviews, I Just Had To Take My Chance. Drove 40mins With Check Engine Light On And Car Misfiring Like Crazy. Ricardo Greeted Me Very Proffesional He Bought The Reader Out To See What The Problem Was. Ricardo Gave Me A Reasonable Price For Parts & Labor W/ 1Yr Warranty And Provided A Receipt. These are the go to guys in the area! I brought my Subaru in and spoke to Ricardo after I noticed some misfires happening in the engine during idle. I've been on a 3 week tour with my band and needed to make it home. He looked over the whole car and gave me an honest estimate about things that needed to happen. Even walked me into the shop and showed me the problems. I told him I was about to sell the car, and Didn't want to add too much to my overhead. I had an oil change, brake pads replacement, sparks and plugs, and two belts replaced. THIS IS IMPORTANT: He did everything he could to make sure that my coil came off in one piece so I didn't have to spend any extra money. That is not an easy thing to do with a car over five years old. Ricardo and his father did everything in their power to make sure I was happy and that everything went as cheaply as possible. I noticed one of the reviews said that the waiting room was very chilly. To that reviewer: there is brand new insulation on the bottom of the doors and a huge heater to keep everyone nice and toasty. My brand new BMW M3 was sideswiped by wolverine himself. Not sure what could cause this damage to my car. Nevertheless I took it to Rodney who is the main guy in the body shop. They had my car out within a week and had it looking brand new. The car has a custom paint job so I was skeptical bringing it anywhere else. I came into the shop in February because my check engine light was on. Paid thousands to have it fixed. Check engine light comes back on. Pandemic happened. 2 months later light is still on and i go back shop and Ricky says i have to pay more money. I pay more money for another part that he forgot to mention, wait for it to get here, wait for Ricardo to install it. Light still on. He says wait a week and the light will go out. Month later light is still on and he says oh i forgot, you have to buy another part. It's just up sell after up sell with no results. Do not go to these people if you want your car fixed. read more

I purchased a Groupon for an oil change and called to make an appointment . I was told when to come and that it would cost an additional $10. I agreed. I arrived and was berated by the owner for wanting the Groupon price + $10 and was told the oil change would instead cost an at least additional $65- $75. He was very very nasty and said Groupon keep sending people to his shop and he basically was not honoring any of the Groupons purchased. I told him that the person that told me to come had been told by me that I had a Groupon and that he shouldn't have told me to come if they weren't going to honor it. He still said he would not honor it and yelled and screamed at me like a lunatic. I told him that this was bullshit and a bad way of doing business and I left with no oil change. I called Groupon and reported him. I received a refund from Groupon and reported the owner. read more

I got my car detailed there and it looks almost like new. they own a body shop-I had gotten into a car accident and they took care of me and my car. Mannn.. let me tell you all something! The gentleman at this Auto repair shop are life savers! They deserve 5 stars from the very moment we walked in the establishment. My wife and I were in the middle of a crisis and a time crunch. We had gotten the runaround from different mechanics within the DMV. My wife is in the military and we explained to them that we were moving the next day driving from Maryland to California and it was an emergency!! Within hours they were able to repair our water pump and rear and front brakes within hours.. we really appreciate your service and hard work.. I took my car here to get breaks and rotors done. it took 3 days for me to get my car back, and the break pads I bought to them to put on my car was taken back and returned to store. they put same old break pad back on my car. I didn't realize until I tried to get my pads changed and when I went to auto zone to exchange. I was told my warranty was voided due to parts being returned. When I called to address the issue the owners son told me oh well there nothing we can do. I called back to speak with owner and didn't get far with him at all either. THEY ARE THIEVES AND IF YOU TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE PLEASE CHECK BEHIND EVERYTHING THEY DO. I just wouldn't trust em I wasn't even asked to bring my car in so they can see that I have two totally diff sets of pads. read more

Did think it was possible. I have a family mechanic now. This repair shop is super friendly and customer service oriented. I went in thinking I only needed an alignment but they gave me the real assessment that saved me and 6 kids from being stranded. I knew my car sounded bad but felt it wAs too far gone and needed a new car. I couldn't afford no one else nor could I afford to hit the road for a 4 hour trip. They saved the day! My car shut down last night on the parkway, five minutes from my house. I eventually found my way home, and woke up this morning frustrated because I just knew I'd have to spend a couple hundred dollars to repair my car. I called a few places in the greater Laurel area, and everyone either was rude on the phone, said they wouldn't even look at it until Monday, or ridiculously expensive and sounded like they just wanted to get as much money out of me as possible. Everyone except Ricardo at Nankee. Ricardo expressed empathy about my situation, exhibiting an often forgotten cornerstone of customer service, and assured me he wouldn't charge me any more than was necessary to fix my problem. After I got it towed there, he even took the time to look at the car while I was on the phone with him so I would only have to make one trip to the parts store, saving me even more money I would have had to pay Lyft/Uber to shuttle back and forth. They went over the common causes of the problem and started with the most common (and inexpensive) solutions first, and were able to fix my car and give advice to prevent it from breaking down again from the same issue (check your oil regularly everybody, seriously). Whoever said good work can't be affordable has never been to Nankee. I'm moving out of the Laurel area soon, but due to the superb customer service I received today, I'll still be making the drive (or tow) over to Nankee for any auto servicing I need. read more

He took the time to show me what he was going to do. I needed to visit again for a tire repair after my car skidded on ice. Customer service was consistently great. Took my fiancé's car here since it was having a stalling issue. My fiancé had fixed everything on his car at this point and still the issue was still there. We had been to 4 other mechanics before coming here and they all could not figure out what the issue was. Looked up auto shops on google and Nankee auto was the first to pop up. After countless disappointments from previous mechanics, we decided this was the last shop we would go to and if they didn't find and fix the issue then we were going to get rid of the car. When we first got to Nankee, we were greeted by the owner and his son. It's a family owned shop. We explained what was going on with the car and we were desperate to get it fixed. They explained that they would look at everything and get back to us when they figure out the issue. They kept the car for 3 days and finally called us and told us the issue. It was something a lot of mechanic wouldn't have even thought of would be the issue and they figured it out. Price was very good as well. Now the car is fixed and drives smooth. I recently called Nankee Auto based on it's existing extraordinary reviews for a radiator and 02 sensor repair. This was a life saver as most shops were booked for weeks! I can't say that I was at all disappointing at that, as Ricardo at Nankee was to the rescue. I was immediately helped upon arriving and Ricardo put me at ease that the repairs would be done in a timely manner. One of the things I noticed and that really impressed me, was the level of professionalism and patience from all of the mechanics, and the way that they made me feel like family, not just another customer with car issues. True to his word, Ricardo repaired my vehicle same day, and even stayed 2 hours past closing to do so!! After being involved in a minor fender bender, I visited two other body shops for estimates before coming to Nankee. The other shops were good but Nankee went above and beyond - ensuring I was comfortable and frequently checking on me while waiting for the estimate to be completed. When they were done they explained and showed me what work needed to be done and how long it would take. The customer service of this family owned business is impeccable. They truly cared and made sure I was pleased with their work. When I picked up my vehicle it was detailed - shining and looking new!
