We came here for a late night light dinner. I only had the brussel sprouts and an egg tart. The brussel sprouts was very tasty. But the egg tart was too sweet for me... My coworkers ordered a chicken sandwich and a rice platter. And they said these were good. They prepared food pretty fast. And the drinks are self served. read more

This was my second visit to Nando's Peri-Peri. My first experience was in Chicago last year. So when I saw this location on the way to the hotel, I knew I wanted to come back for dinner. Nando's is rooted in Portuguese cuisine. I brought several of my conference buddies with me. We visited on Wednesday night. We stood in line but then were told we could also order at the table. I ordered a drink and for dinner chicken wings with cucumber and tomato salad. Nando's marinades it's fresh chicken for 24 hours, then it's steam-cooked, and lastly flame-grilled once an order is placed. The flavor was fabulous! I love anything cooked on an open flame. And the cucumber and tomato salad was fresh and delicious. Everyone else enjoyed their dinner which I was thankful for since I suggested the restaurant;) Next time I'm in a city with Nando's, I will definitely stop in again! read more

I never leave a bad review but I feel like I had to make aware of an experience. We were staying nearby and wanted a quick bite to eat. We happened to be by this spot. We stood in line which took about 10 to 15 minutes. Once we placed the order we stood by the pick up counter, expecting it to come out rather promptly. No lie, from the time I ordered, based on my receipt, to the time they called us, It was 31 minutes! We saw the sandwiches sitting there for 10 to 15 minutes waiting to be wrapped. Other orders were done before ours. Mind you, the bread was soggy from the condiments and the lettuce and tomato chillin on it. I didn't understand why someone else had to wrap it and put it in the bag. As expected, my chicken rainbow bowl was cold. The rice was cold and dry. Couldn't even warm it up because of the avocado, hummus and tomatoes in it. We had missing sides. One of the sides given was incorrect. We had to go back to ask for the missing sides. You would think after 30 minutes, they would have our order correct. The manager was nice enough to understand the frustration after the employee tried to correct us and said she did put the correct sides. No one is trying to lie for coleslaw...... To top it off, we had stomach issues after. Never again. read more

First time here!! Food was beyond my expectations! The staff were super friendly and I highly recommend this place. Great location!! read more

I was staying at the Gaylord and should have come here for every dinner instead of the overpriced mediocrity at the hotel. Service was friendly and kind. The restaurant itself was very clean which seems rare for "fast food". While I was there a tour bus of about 20 kids showed up. The employees worked together to make the experience great for everyone. I ordered chicken with the cauliflower. It was great. I ended up buying several bottles of their sauce for souvenirs. This is a chain and that's not my typical jam. However, I will definitely seek out Nando's! read more

i've eaten at this establishment before and am a fan of their offerings! the national harbor location is situated in the heart of their downtown. the interior is the same as the others i've been to, family style round booth seating mixed with proper chairs. we came for lunch on a friday and it was moderately busy. i ordered my favourite, the rainbow bowl with grilled boneless chicken breast, plainish seasoning. all the colours of the rainbow are really represented here, with tomatoes, hummus, avocado, cauliflower...with a beautiful breast of chicken sitting atop these fresh colourful veggies. it took me some time, but i thoroughly enjoyed my plate, eating almost every bit of food that was on the plate. service was very good, at one point they even moved us b/c our initial table was a bit wobbly. the second table was very nice in that it was tucked in a corner, and quieter, away from the door too. i wish we had this where i live in california, but until then, this will always be on my list to eat whenever i'm back in the dmv! read more

Nando's Peri-Peri - Rainbow Bowl with Chicken Breast - Portuguese Near Me - Oxon Hill, Maryland

Tried the Peri Peri chicken wings -- the flavor was definitely unique and had potential, but unfortunately, they weren't cooked all the way through. That really took away from the experience. It might've just been an off day for the kitchen, but I probably won't be coming back. The side I got with the wings was extremely salty. The manager asked at the end if I wanted a different side, but we were on our way out the door. You can order with the QR code or at the front, and they'll bring your food out. Very spacious and in a good spot. read more

Chicken was cooked well and pretty good. However, I ordered to go and I could see the bottom of the rice container because of the lack of rice. For $3 it wasn't even a quarter of a cup. I know this isn't typical from other locations I've been to... so maybe they were running low? That was the other thing, I waited an additional 10 minutes longer than the estimate (I ordered online). The chicken portion was also 2.5 instead ofn3 pieces. It was an order with three thighs. It looks like a good chunk was missing on the third. read more

The food was good, I just wish the portions were larger. The service was just okay. We had to see ourselves and we were never greeted. We were brought water and silverware after we ordered. Ambiance is nice in the National harbor area. read more

Never had Peri Peri Chicken and let's just say it was Amazing, the selections of sauces are incredible A coworker had died here in the past and wanted me to go with him to try this restaurant and we were cheerfully greeted, placed our order and seated . The interior is a really cool design and it's very clean and very well organized, and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful and attentive . Our food was full of flavor and priced right for this location . If you're in the area, it is worth stopping by and trying it. They do have various menu selections to choose from with many many options. We did meet the owner and our manager and she was a nice lady greeted us asked how everything was and asked if we needed anything and you know this type of service you don't find it many places they truly do care about your dining experience . Service is absolutely horrible. Ordered takeout and got our food, then waited 30 minutes for a girl to put lemonade in a cup. Food was mediocre. My boyfriend's wings were burnt. Not coming back. Over the course of waiting 30 minutes, we asked 3 staff members about beverages and they all said that we would get our drink at the front. We kept waiting and staring them down and only 1 employee asked us what we were waiting for - and then also told us we could get the beverage at the front. read more

We came here since we were hungry and wanted to eat before riding the Ferris wheel. The concept is fast casual which mixes fast food with a sit down restaurant. A host sat us and we had to order and pay (and tip) using a QR code on the table. We had to get our own utensils and water but our food was brought to our table when it was ready. The concept was a bit confusing since there were no water cups and plates at the self serve area so I had to wait to ask an employee who gave me some cups. We also had to ask for crayons to fill out the kids menu. When I went to the bathroom, there was only two stalls and one wad out of service. The available one was absolutely disgusting, pee and toilet paper everywhere and it was unflushed. I asked an employee to clean it and when I came back later although it was clean there was no toilet paper! Also when my mom asked if she could grab a plate since they were not at the self serve station, the employee snarkily said "well you touched it so yeah" It felt pretty cold and unwelcoming yet we still tipped 15% because we didn't know if the employees relied on tips so that clarification would have been nice. I ordered the garlic bread CLT which was absolutely delicious, my first time trying this restaurant. The chicken is so moist and flavorful and served a good portion. I used a sauce from the self service area which made it taste even better. We parked at the parking garage which is across the street and only $5 for 1.5 hours or less. read more

This Nando's is a mess, and our experience this year only confirmed the issues we had last year. Came here for dinner on a Wednesday as we were in town for MAGFest. Despite them being busy, we had a table in around 10 minutes. Everyone ordered using their phones, with one us trying to use the app to order a cocktail, but could not due to the app having faults. The Macho Peas have been removed from the menu since our last visit to a Nando's, a great disappointment. Half our table received their orders in 10-20 minutes and finished eating before the other half were able to even start. A staff member even checked in and came back saying they were backed up. It took 40 minutes in total for everyone to finally receive their orders. That was bad enough, but worse my boneless Chicken Brest came with the Hot flag despite ordering Lemon & Herb. I promptly sent it back and flagged the women who appeared to the manager and nicely complained. I finally received the correct order a few minutes later. The food when it finally arrived was good. Something in the last two years has changed at this location for the worst and it needs to be corrected. The only other positive thing I can add, is we came here for lunch another day, and I had my order in less then 10 minutes. I very much enjoy Nando's, but this location needs a turn around and fast. read more

Everything about Nando's is fantastic! I am overdue on this review from September, but I had to highly recommend. The people are amazing at Nando's! We received such great service and care during our sit down meal. I had the Brussel sprouts and lemon chicken. The chicken was incredibly moist and fell off the bone. I also had the custard dessert which was fantastic. The restaurant was lively with decorations giving a nod to South African roots. Plenty of booth seating, pick your own sauces, and lots of space. I loved the sink outside of the bathroom to wash your hands. I went back a second night to buy chicken to take home! I've been to Nando's in London as well which was equally delicious, but I am so glad I went here! read more

Our food came within 15 minutes of ordering. We had a RAINBOW BOWL which was visually pleasing and complimented by the multiple flavors and textures. It consisted of curry, lime, pickled cauliflower, hummus, mango lime chicken, feta, Portuguese rice, avocado, tomato, cucumber, and onion salad. Ours was missing the avocado! The chicken itself was tasty, but it could have been cooked some more. We also had the had peri-peri wings. The service was just okay. The greeter was cordial, but his social appeal lingered around boredom. I had mentioned to the greeter that this was our first time and was looking forward to our dining experience. Even the waitress' attitude and interaction was dry and lacked any sign warmth. The atmosphere was colorful and attractively decorated. Lively cultural music filled the air while we consuming our meals. read more

First impressions are very telling! I love Nandos but this location needs some revamping. My grandmother lives on the National Harbor and when I come to visit her I usually bring her food. This day I was starving and only brought food for her. So I decided to try out Nando's for myself. Upon entering there was a foul smell, like mold or an old basement. The restaurant was pretty empty. I placed my order at the counter. The guy that took my order was in no hurry, seemed to be a little spaced out. When ordering he told me several items were out. Corn, Brussels..... which made me want to cancel my order. I was hungry so I said ok I'll just get the rice and coleslaw. As I was leaving I checked my bag some items were missing. It took almost 27 min to get my order. Again the restaurant was empty. As I watched the kitchen staff make orders I noticed no gloves were used, 3 of the employees in the kitchen were touching their phones then back to touching food items. I was all the way turned off due to this experience. Once u made it to my grandmothers house I opened my items and was disappointed. The char on my chicken was disgusting, the char was too overpowering. The chicken was hard. The coleslaw was milky/ watery. Disappointing experience. read more

We had lunch at Nando's both days that we attended Magfest at the Gaylord Convention Center. Both times we barely waited more than 15 minutes for a table of 4, which honestly, was not bad at all considering people were waiting upwards of 20 minutes for chicken tenders inside the convention center. If you can make it for their lunch specials, they're really good deals. Otherwise it does get a little pricier. It's still a better meal and deal than eating inside the convention center though, so I still would recommend venturing out to Nandos. I had a chicken breast sandwich my first time and then the bowl with rice and salad on the second visit. Both were good and hit the spot. It's all digital though, so you do look at the menu on your phone and then order on your phone. They bring out your food when it's ready. read more

TLDR; juicy, crispy chicken with solid seasoning and sides The summary says it all; I got the half-chicken and it was chicken was juicy and had a ton of flavor. While it was very well spiced, I will say that it wasn't very spicy (I got the very hot). I got the Portuguese rice and Macho peas as my sides and they were both impressive -- packed with flavor! The staff were wonderful, and the South African Sauvignon Blanc they had was crisp and an easy drinker (I'm pretty sure it's unoaked, but I haven't fact-checked this statement yet). Very few chains nowadays can get their chicken right -- but this Nando's is spot on. read more

I so missed Nando's. We have them in Australia and don't have any on the west coast so I was surprised to see this one here. Ordered inline for takeaway. They kept asking for what my order was as I was waiting for a long time. I finally asked if it was coming soon and she went and checked and said yes. It was another 5 or so minutes, so like 35 or so minutes waiting. Chicken and chips -hot sauce delicious! Halloumi, normally really good, this time was just ok Naughty natas - never tried before, very greasy and overpowering with the cinnamon, not crispy just soggy greasy. The pineapple lemonade is awesome and so refreshing! read more

Nando's at National Harbor is a fun and funky place to grab lunch or dinner. My family stayed at the harbor for a week-long vacation. We ate at several of the restaurants at the harbor, and Nando's was everyone's favorite spot!!! We loved the super-friendly and helpful staff, the festive decor and energetic atmosphere, and the chicken! Our group sampled skewers, chicken thighs, wraps and a chicken sandwich. Each dish was flavorful and unique. The garlic bread is heavenly, and my husband couldn't get enough of the spicy olives. We'll be back next time we're in town! read more

Actually reasonable priced dinner for a family in National Harbor without paying for view upsale. Ordered a family style dinner and got 20% resort off which comes out to under $10 per person. Juicy flavor in the chicken and skewers, also just right mashed potatoes in terms of flavor, coleslaw, and pretty good mashed potatoes. Good quick service food. Clean restaurant. Nothing fancy. This was my first time at a Nando's. It's a unique cuisine -I think it's a mix of African and Portuguese styles (who would have put those two together?). But you know what... it's yummy! I had the quarter chicken breast with med-hot spice. I got a side of mac and cheese with breadcrumbs and I loved it. The spicy Caesar side salad was good too. Came back after a few years to give this place another chance. That was a mistake. Not only was the service just as bad as the last time we came in, the food quality also diminished. We came in with a large group and we were told to return 30 minutes later. When we were notified to come back, there wasn't even enough space to seat our party... like 5 chairs short. Another table near us also complained that the table they felt squished at the location they were seated at. They now allow for customers to order through the app instead of standing in line. Once the food came out, the "servers" placed the food at the end of the table and told us to distribute it ourselves. When we directed them to the correct person who ordered the dish, we were met with eye rolls, attitude, and "we're just trying to get the food out as fast as possible." That was so wild to me given that there's one less job they had to do. The food was just ok. I ordered The PERi Chicken Rainbow Bowl. It sounded delicious, but wasn't as great. The protein to rice ratio was off. In the picture, you can see that tiny piece of chicken for all the rice. The food wasn't even warm when it arrived and the rice was very watery. As Florida Evan's would say, damn, damn, damn! So a few days ago we were shopping at Arundel Mall and decided to try takeout at Nando's. The food was absolutely amazing. So amazing that we went to the Potomac location the next day and right out the gate the ambience, service and food 10's across the board!! I've added them to my honeycomb hideout list. Back to damn, damn, damn... National Harbor location do better. Food was less than subpar. I'm so unimpressed I can't even finish eating so I'm exhausting my time by posting this review. And my liver still hasn't arrived with the rest of the food. We ordered at 1730 and my liver didn't arrive to the table until 1802; this was after the charred soggy cauliflower; wait how can soggy cauliflower be charred. I'm sick just trying to process that. We were in the area for my dad's birthday on a Saturday night. We wanted to see national harbor and the Gaylord center. We parked our car and walked around. Most of the restaurants in the area appeared to be packed, including Nando but we decided to do Nando and also we believed my dad being a vegan can find something on the menu. We had to wait 15 to 20 minutes to be seated. We were then told to order our food online by scanning the QR code. At first it was confusing and it was hard to find someone to ask questions but we did figure it out. It was pretty busy in there and we could tell that the staff were overwhelmed and we didn't want to add to their stress so when they told us that something that most of us ordered is not available and it would take about an hr to get ready, we just ordered something else. We didn't want to be difficult. Overall, the experience wasn't too bad. We wish it was better. The foods were good. I know they specialize in chicken and most of my family ordered chicken but I got the chicken Caesar salad wrap because I wanted to try something else. It was okay. Went here to order some food as the hotel food is expensive. I ordered only and said they were going to be an hour wait. The staff was friendly and happy to chat about the food they had and the best sauces to eat the food with. I got the peri peri mac and cheese and coleslaw. The chicken was delicious tasting. Let me acknowledge that I'm about to be dramatic. I will never visit this Nando's again. And let me go a step further: I will never visit any Nando's anywhere ever again thanks to this location. First off ok it's national harbor. Not the greatest in terms of parking. But it's super close to my work. So much so that I can order online and do their carry out to the car option. I've done it before and I always tip ahead of time on the app for the convenience of asking them to graciously bring it to my car. Except when you tip ahead of time and they don't bring it out. And then when you call them and say "I'm outside" THEY HANG UP! I know it was busy but hanging up on me was not the move. So not only did I tip ahead of time JUST TO BE HUNG UP ON, I had to pay for street parking so I could walk in and get my food. I couldn't believe a business would hang up on a customer like that. No like "hey we're busy (they were busy when I walked in) give me a minute." No it was "I'm here for pick up" (click). I actually contacted their website about it and after two months they sent me a free entree that expired like a week later. I thought ok I won't write a review because they attempted to appease the dissatisfied customer. Nah. Here's the review and Nando's lost a repeat customer. I know this won't really effect their bottom line but I can feel better spending money elsewhere. read more

I have not been served and hosted the way I have when I came here today in a long, long time. As soon as we arrived, a very nice lady greeted us, asked us where we wanted to sit inside the restaurant, gave us menus and told us the flow of things. We ordered at the counter with her where she was very professional and repeated our order back to us. When the food was brought out, it was hot, fresh, and very, very flavorful. The chicken was to die for. So moist. During our dining experience, we were checked on multiple times by different staff members, brought napkins, and even had our drinks refilled. A nice man asked my husband whose drink was running low "what are you drinking sir? I got you." He didn't have to do that. There seems to be an attitude of "I don't have to do that" at many establishments, not this one. Everyone took ownership. The place was very clean, well lit, staff was all around making sure the place was running smoothly. I can tell the staff takes pride in their hospitality. Truly an 11/10 experience. So happy with the food and my experience. Will be back. I wish I had the names of the staff members who helped us to give them a personal shoutout. True professionalism.
