My first time having cava. I've heard about it and now I've finally had it. The food was like chipotle but with different options and it has sauces that you can add. I was basically adding things that I would like. The service was good. They were nice enough to entertain me regarding questions and recommendations. It wasn't busy when we came here. Many people ordered and left. My friend and I had dinner inside. Inside was clean and they have alot of seating. I ordered: * Spicy Lamb + Avocado Bowl * Salmon + Strawberry Sesame Bowl Both of these items were out of stock, yet I was not informed until after the bowls were already being prepared. Instead of stopping the order or clearly communicating my options, the staff substituted chicken in both bowls without properly informing me or adjusting the pricing. I had a make your own bowl. It was delicious. We ordered delivery online. They use door dash. It took 1 hour and 20 minutes, the driver wouldn't bring it up to us (third floor) and worse than that, they only delivered 3 of the four meals. Moral of the story, AVOID DELIVERY read more

Cava is a great new food choice for Waldorf! For all my peeps complaining about long lines, wait times, messed up orders...sure, all of these things happen here. When have we ever gotten a new food joint in the Dorf that didn't get folks so excited that they overwhelm the new staff? It is a song as old as time here. What's great? I love the young staff, many that are excited to work their very first job. Give them some grace. The restroom is clean and my food is always good. I order online to skip the wait. My Lentil Avocado bowl tonight cost $16 (I added sweet potato). It will last me two if not three meals so that's a bargain! I asked the staff if she could have more rice to fill up the bowl, it had very little food in it. The staff working, black females, without skipping a beat said, it would be extra. I said she didn't even get any other toppings. The. I asked to speak to her supervisor, who rolled her eyes and took the bowl, refused to interact with me, and added tablespoon about to the bowl. I refused this service and the cheep amount of food they wanted to serve. Look if you're the owner of this location-you have lost a customer,and my family's business. It was my fiancée's first time going and we definitely picked the best location for him to try! When I walked in I was not greeted immediately workers were on their phones and then decided to greet me after 3min. I was wanted pita chips and i received them cold. They are supposed to be warm. Only reason to give two stars is because after I drove all the way back they got it right. Entire staff was new. I ordered two meals online. After taking it all the way home , 20 minutes one way, I discovered I both orders were completely wrong. When I returned, I could see the ' manager pointing at the items to each employee and showing them what it was ( while re making our orders ) Apparently, no one making the orders could read English. The service and the food is all around great! The workers are all incredibly friendly and accommodating. The inside is very clean and neat, which is very appreciated in a fast food place. I came around the early part of lunch, and it was pretty quiet. Most people seemed to have ordered ahead. The food is flavorful and comes in generous portions. You see this bowl right here?....25 minutes in line waiting. This CAVA location has to find a rhythm quick or it's going to lose lots of customers. With the likes of Chipotle and, Sweetgreen, customers are in and out. No long waits due to a system that's in place. As I waited for my bowl to be prepared, I could hear staff saying, we are out of it, it's no more!! I thought to myself...."Really....it's dinner time!" I typically use the pick up option, but end up going inside anyway to mix my beverage, as there is no way to choose that option online. This is a brand new Cava location and the first here in southern Maryland. As expected with anything here, when it's new the lines are long. It was worth the almost 20 minute wait in line though. I got a 1/2 spicy chicken and 1/2 falafel spinach and rice bowl with avacado, tomato,cucumber, corn, crumbled feta and olives topped with lemon herb tahini dressing. I also had a side of their mouth watering crispy pita chips. I hate that I didn't take a picture but I ate it too fast. The pita chips alone were worth the visit. Everything was just so good. I wanted to share our experience at CAVA on Friday. While waiting in line, we attempted to order our food however, what we found was that there we no drinks, and barely any food. What happened next baffled our minds--keep in mind this was our third time here and Friday, made it our last--because we had never seen the place so disheveled. Patrons ahead of us pointed out that one of the servers--we noticed eventually--never bothered to change gloves after heaping loads of trash and wiping sweat off their brow. That server continued to serve food and at one point used the same gloved hands to make salad. Other patrons asked for the manager to get more drinks. It was ok. I chose to create a bowl. I wanted just rice and chicken and some veggies. I wasn't impressed with the amount of food in the actual bowl. A smaller bowl or more food in the size they offered would be great. I thought it was expensive. The food was good though. The people filling my bowl were ok, although they tried to give me things I didn't want in the bowl. That was irritating. I finally just held up my hand to stop. I think there's a language barrier. Cava Waldorf delivers! The 18th St, NW, DC location was my lunch favorite for years so I was excited to hear Cava was replacing the Wendy's. This area is a fresh food desert begging for new options. Thankfully new places are opening to provide local residents with variety. I stopped in for a valentines day lunch and there was a moderate line. The crew kept things moving along and I was able to order within a few minutes, selecting a chicken bowl with super greens and a slew of veggies/toppings. Be sure to ask for the complimentary pita if they forget to include it with your order its a great co-star to you meal acting as an edible spoon. I thoroughly enjoyed the bowl as the mixture of proteins and veggies blended well and the food was as fresh as I remembered. What's up good people! A long over due review of Cava (they just opened one up here in Waldorf) you know how I like to do it, rating by Ambiance, Service and of course Food!!! Ambiance (5 Stars) Cavan make sure to keep their place clean, if you ever been to Chipotle, the ordering system is very similar but with Mediterranean food, plenty of space and it was overall very clean inside. Service (4.5 Stars) only because I did place my order online like 25mins before I went to pick it up and the order wasn't done, and it wasn't packed, so I didn't understand why the order was not done. However the staff was friendly, they did take a little minute before I was greeted. Food (5 Stars) I love Mediterranean food, it's usually full of flavor and Cava was just that! I ordered the Rice Bowl with Lamb meatballs, with Chicken, Teziyka(sp?) sauce, with pickled onions, olives, feta cheese, veggie mix and dressing. Full of flavor! I'm definitely going back! read more

Showed them my email, they made it while I waited. Lines are still outlandishly long and painfully slow, trying to get in at noon is a 30 min or more wait. They've been opened long enough to have a good grasp of the process. You can do better! read more

Today was my first time eating at Cava and yes , it was so fresh and delicious . Today was the soft opening so , they offered everyone TODAY ONLY a free bowl or pita with drink. They do ask for optional donation to local food bank FYI.. The customer service is excellent and my recommendation is just to be patient, some of the staff are relatively new but they're willing to help. I'm definitely coming back to this location. It's new, so let's start there. And they are not ready for the amount of people coming through the door and drive-thru AND online orders. It's just too much going on and not enough staff to accommodate the workload. I placed my online order which was to be picked up at 4pm and it wasn't even started on until 450 pm. They were putting out pick up orders for 430 and those of us waiting for earlier orders were still waiting. I was ready to ask for my money back. After the long wait, my salad was mediocre. I prefer less dressing, but it was tasty. Ingredients are fresh, you can definitely tell that. Once there is a better organization of things, I wouldn't mind coming back.
