I love CAVA and I love this location. Normally, the customer service is fast and just as great as the food. However, on a Monday at 6:20 the food and the service are just not up to par. The staff morale seemed very low, maybe they were ready to get off. Also, the food just didn't hit the same. Not to mention the pita chips were SOFT and still tasted burnt. Any other day everything is amazing, but the team working today was just not it. I wanted to give it one star but they've never disappointed me like this before. I love Cava , but the one in Waldorf is very messy . They don't clean their area which makes you not want to eat there. It's the service of the workers. They are young and don't care.. This is a new restaurant so there is a learning curve but no one behind the service line knew how to greet a customer, let alone talk to them. Happy to finally have a location in SoMD. It's new and as with anything new, there's always room for improvement. The staff are friendly, but they're still learning the menu and how to handle such a large crowd. I went in on 2/2/23 and waited about an hour. When I arrived around 7:40pm there were 30 people in front of me. There is plenty of seating and it's an open environment. The menu is delicious with plenty of options. I had the chicken with rightrice bowl (sub right rice for basmati rice) with extra tzatziki. Delicious!! Too bad I didn't take a picture before the food was gone! Great to have in area with being new lines are longer than normal but portions and food quality was amazing!

The food is fine but the service was slow and the serving area was dirty. The server at the start of the line was wiping the rice from around the edge back in the rice. Rice was in the lentils etc. They need someone wiping constantly and keeping the place sanitized - especially near food. I will report this restaurant if cleanliness doesn't improve. We got there at 8p, inside is swamped so I put in a mobile order. I get to the window a few minutes earlier (8:12p) than 8:15p as instructed. Then that's when they ask for 5 more minutes. Ok fine. Then I get back in line at 8:20p. They line doesn't move at this point is 8:35p. I hop out of line and walk inside to find out that they have skipped right over my order. To add insult to injury they sloppily made my lamb pita wraps and sauce is all over my car, my husband, the seat. The food was cold. Not being from Maryland, I noticed that customer service just sucks up here but I had high hopes for Cava. Very disappointed. Don't eat here when they are busy. They just simply don't care. Disgustung cold food. You would think after waiting so long for food that it would at least be hot. Food was cold. I ordered something that was written down, they can't read. Food is good, but I've been to numerous Cava's and the line moves fairly quickly. I don't know why this one is so slow. Unless there's only 3-5 people in the line, expect a 10-20min wait to be served. read more

I wrote my first review five months ago when they and I have been back a few times since. To be exact it was a couple months ago for my last visit and I'm just getting around to doing another review. I was curious to see if any improvements have been made. It seems based on other reviews that I has only gone down hill more. It is also very concerning that management has not made any comments in regard to reviews posted. The factors that influenced on my decision in not returning have been mentioned by other posters. The lack of food items, cleanliness and lack of employees or quality employees to actually run a business efficiently. I will not return to this location. They do not make pita sandwiches correctly!!! Instead of opening the pita and putting everything inside (as is done at other CAVAs), they put the stuff on top of the pita, making it impossible to eat. Pita is a POCKET. You should be filling it on the inside! Please start making this correctly. Kind of shocking that you get this wrong. I won't go back until you do. read more

Good food, but has to be slowest moving line ever. I even preordered to save time thinking I must've went during a busy hour. I went through the online order pick up drive thru and was told to line back around and "the food SHOULD be ready by then". We'll guess what? Not ready. I probably wount be back. As much as I like cava, I am really about to stop going here. They don't keep up with their supply. There hasn't been one time and they had everything on the menu. If you come any time after 3pm you better count on them not having romaine lettuce, rice or chicken among other things. And they are not consistent with their servings. read more

Placed my order for two bowls at 3:09pm. We finally got our food at 3:45pm. Turns out it had been ready for a while but it was behind the counter and no one could realized it was there. At least five workers and two managers were there and no one was doing anything -- they were messing around and joking with each other. They literally had their backs to the customers. We finally got the food after standing around for 40 minutes, and of course it was cold. I was happy to have a healthy food option in the area but we won't be coming back. I went during the soft opening the day before their opening. They gave away a free bowl and gave a donation for the local food bank. The line was long which was expected. I didn't mind the wait, they came around to give out samples, I got warm pitas with a yogurt dip. It wad so good. When I got my food, it was as amazing. It was so fresh and very tasty. I've had a craving for the food ever since, I will be back soon. I'm glad they opened. I moved back to this area from VA where I had a local Cava near my home. When I moved here I was sad this area didn't have one. Now that they do I'm so happy! I always do the make your own bowl and it's always incredibly delicious. The only downfall is that the line can take upwards of 20 minutes to get through. They've only been opened for over a month or so now so I won't hold that against them right now. The manager was very nice, friendly, and accommodating. However the staff all seem to whisper when they speak, not sure what that's about but other than those 2 things I am very satisfied. I am a resident of Charles County and last night was our first time at this CAVA. The food was fresh but they ran out of alot of the items on the food table and informed me and others that they did not have any left, it was only 7pm when i was in line to order. The customer service is very poor and man oh man the speed of service is very slow. They have over 15 staff working but it takes you 20-30 minutes to get your food. read more

The staff should go to the U St. location and observe their front line; take notes on how they interact with the cook; cook should be informed when products are running low.Staff needs to know what all meals come with instead of using que cards. So happy that Waldorf has something else to offer besides burgers, chicken and pizza! Everything is fresh and made to order or from a select menu of specialties. I have ordered from the Waldorf location three times now and today has been the worst experience. I order the greens bowl with chicken. Today my greens were old and no good. I also ordered a pita wrap, the order for the pita was incorrect. I went back to the store to inform them of the greens and of the pita. The manager Nancy was disgusted that I brought the food back and tossed my bag on the back counter. I wait 45 minutes for them to remake the bowl and pita. Her attitude was uncalled for, and she was in no hurry to correct the situation. Now I understand this was during the peak lunch hour rush however, lack of communication and lack of urgency, along with her unpleasant attitude as if I was disturbing her was a complete turn off for me.
