Nando's is a great neighborhood spot. My mom lives down the street and every time we go it's a good time to the food is good, the servers are kind, and the prices are ok. The consume' has the perfect amount of savory goodness that complements the dish perfectly! Instead of rice and beans, I get their grilled veggies and whole pinto beans, as I was told their refried beans and rice are not GF. I never feel like I am missing out on not having those; however, the veggies and beans are the best complement to the tacos! Nandos is a go to place for us. We usually go to the Chandler or Queen Creek locations. Yesterday we went to this location in Gilbert. It wasn't crowded, we were seated and waited on immmediately. Out drinks came out fast. My wife orders a taco and enchilada combo with all rice no beans. It came out with beans. They took it back and brought it back about 5 minutes later and under the rice were the beans that they obviously just tried to scrape off the plate. Now the taco and enchilada were cold. We had a cheese crisp prior to ordering so we had been there a while. She never got a refill on her tea even though it was empty before our food arrived. I was never asked if I wanted another beer. The waiter didn't bring out the food and never came back until we were almost done eating. He did take her meal off the bill. Not a good experience. read more

This was my first time eating at nandos cafe and I came in with a larger group of people. As soon as we got there we were given fresh chips and salsa, the guy was super friendly and let us know which salsas were which. We had lilly as our server and the service was absolutely outstanding. she was very knowledgeable of the menu and answered every question I had, she was very fast and very attentive, our drinks were always full and she made sure to check up on us plenty of times. I was recommended the pollo Rico and it was probably one of the best things I have had in a long time and not to mention The food came out super fast. Came here with my family for dinner during happy hour. Our waiter was great, he was fast and super friendly. We got the chile con queso, the birria mini chimis and the steak fajita quesadilla. I also ordered a strawberry daiquiri which was super good! All the food came out fast and was extremely tasty, especially the queso dip. The service was so quick we were in and out of there within 45 minutes with our leftovers. read more

Excellent Mexican food, great servers, fun atmosphere with authentic Mexican fare. Nachos with mesquite grilled chicken with all the trimmings is our favorite. Everything here is delicious--fajitas arrive sizzling, enchiladas, tacos, desserts: flan, fried ice cream, and unlimited chips & salsa. We don't drink much but have enjoyed margaritas at the bar with friends. Our experiences have always been delightful, thanks to the lovely servers who are all so attentive and friendly: Lily, Omar, Dalia, Sydney, William, Jazmin, and last but not least, Grace at the reception desk. This is a place that a friend and I often meet at that because it's centered between our two homes. It's pretty large, especially when you include the two patios up front. I love the metal work that they have throughout the restaurant including the big tree divider between the dining room and the bar. We always have great service when we're here. Last night our server noticed that I was going to order a side of rice and my friend was going to order two a la carte tacos. She suggested my friend get taco plate, which includes rice, as it would only be a dollar more than two à la carte tacos. She offered to plate it separately so that I could have my side of rice, which saved us money. We appreciate that kind of thoughtfulness from a server. Generally, I like the food here. After all the whole rice ordering thing, I did not like the rice. I am super picky about rice, so if may just be my weird thing. The cocktails were, as always, delicious. read more

Service and ambiance is great. The food leans more towards very safe flavors (not super spicy) they can go a little heavy on the cheese at time. If you are not a super fan of cheese, just tell them medium on the cheese. It can be too much sometimes. Salsas are very good. read more

Met up with a girlfriend here for lunch. I love any Mexican place that brings chips and salsa to your table automatically. I didn't have anything to drink so I can't comment on that, but the appetizers we shared were delicious. We had the chicken nachos and mini chimis. read more

We had our daughter's baby shower in the enclosed patio on Sunday, 4-26-26. We arrived early to set things up and the staff had everything in place and looked great! They were so accommodating and so very pleasant to work with!! It was like we were the only ones at the restaurant as we had non stop service and didn't have to ask twice for anything! First time at this location - really liked the food, just seemed fresher and tastier than the Germanne location. Service was mediocre (restaurant wasn't too busy when we went, around 11 am so not sure where our server disappeared to). They offer a pretty large basket of chips while waiting. The pomegranate green tea is so good! I had the Mexican Pizza with whole beans and it was good. There Mexican pizza is unique from other Mexican food restaurants because it has two crispy flour tortillas, the middle has guacamole and it is layered with meat of your choice, mine was whole beans, and cheese, green onions and tomato. I ask for the habanero salsa to dip it in...so good. My friend had the steak fajita bowl and said it was really good and fresh. They have a bar at this location and offer plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Definitely enjoyed the food at this location and recommend. read more

I was excited to try this restaurant that is out of my way and highly recommended. I was sorely disappointed. I asked if they had grilled fish tacos and she said yes, but they must use frozen breaded fish that they put on the flat top. It was dry, tasteless and terrible. Our server seemed new as he wasn't very knowledgeable of the menu. Lastly, their ladies room must not have been working and they had a portable bathroom out front of the restaurant. read more

My family of 3 went to Nandos in Gilbert hoping for a good Mexican meal. My husband ordered El Jefe steak burrito which comes with rice and beans. His meal was bland. I ordered a siete combo which comes with a burro enchilada style with rice and beans. Mine was also bland even with the green Chile sauce on it. My son ordered 2 burritos. One shredded beef and one bean and cheese burrito. We left disappointed as we were expecting our meal to be full of flavor. Hopefully this was just an off night for them. Service was just okay. Nando's is great! When Purple and I were in the mood for Mexican food we wanted something close so Nando's came in and satisfied our cravings! The service is awesome and the food is fantastic. I went with enchiladas with red and green sauce. When the plates arrived my immediate thought was that I needed a box! I got three delicious meals out of this portion! The only negative point I would make is to ensure that servers are aware that people can hear them at the main dining room beverage station. I listened to servers speak loudly regarding cuts, guests good and bad, tips, and what they were up to after work. I heard a remodel happened a couple of weeks ago so hopefully this has been updated with a privacy wall! This was not enough to sway us from your delicious offerings!!! Formerly a Gilbert staple and an all around favorite, Nando's has lost much of what made it special after the renovations. The old space felt warm, cozy, and inviting with dim lighting, but now it is bright, white, and grey, with a noticeably gentrified look that feels generic and far from an authentic Mexican restaurant. The new design feels cold and stripped of personality, making dining in far less enjoyable. The food is still good, but the atmosphere used to be a big part of the experience, and that charm is clearly missing now. read more

Nando's had a lot of items to choose from. My favorite is the burrito enchilada style which provides a red or green chili burrito with beans and rice and includes chips and salsa with the meal. You'll receive a bag of chips with salsa. I usually do takeout orders since it's more convenient for me to bring it home and enjoy it. The service is quick and fast. The customer service desk receptionists are polite and accommodating. Parking is usually hard to find during busy weekends. It seemed this time around my burrito looked a little smaller than normal. However, it could have been a new employee that was in training but hopefully it won't be a permanent thing because usually the burritos are a pretty good size where I can eat half of it for lunch and save the other half for dinner. I love the aluminum take out containers because the aluminum container is much healthier than the styrofoam that were used previously and some currently used in some restaurants which I don't feel is healthy. read more

Nando's has been a staple to take friends and family when visiting who don't like New Mexico style or spicier more traditional Mexican food. It was always consistent whether to take out or eat in. The last two occasions we ordered something has changed. It's bland and inconsistent, and even the way the food is put together. Seems different in the dining experience was just OK, but we talked it up to just one of those things We ordered takeout when we had a couple visiting and no one felt like going to the restaurant. The takeout order was haphazardly put together. It was sparse and let's just say it was disappointing at the least. One of the tostadas was two spoonfuls of beans with maybe a small handful of lettuce and some of the lettuce looked like it had seen better days since it was part of a combo we were hoping that the rest would be OK. Two people ordered enchiladas and they were bleh. Along with the other items we ordered, nothing stood out. We were given the smallest bag of chips I've ever seen frankly received better food from Del Taco. It is disappointing to spend that much money and still have to make something to eat later on for everyone. Unfortunately, we may not be visiting or eating at Nandos's in the near future. This place has some of the best food and huge portions along with some wonderful cocktails, we had a party of 10 and they put us out on the patio right next to the fireplace and then heat warmers around the other tables so we stayed nice and warm. Not the place to go if you're looking for authentic Mexican cuisine. The Adovado Taco Specialty was lacking in flavor, with a ton of garnishes that overwhelmed the taste. Chips were stale. Service was nice and not necessarily something to complain about. read more

Three visits...three strikes. The first visit involved my ordering an advertised special, in-person for pickup in late afternoon during the week. The restaurant was not busy. The person taking my order said that the special did not exist. He checked with "the manager" who agreed. I showed them the email from their restaurant that I had received the previous day. It described the special, the dates available, the restaurant locations where it was available and that it was for dine in or pickup, but not delivery. After showing them the email, I received the special as described, for the price described. I was told that the manager "forgot" to put it in the system. A few months later, I paid for my dinner with a Nandos gift card. It worked fine except that they refused to allow the waiter's tip to be on the gift card. They had previously always allowed this, but a policy change prohibiting this was coming in a few days, not the day of this transaction. I showed the waiter and "the manager" the email with the future date for this policy specifically called out. Then and only then, was I allowed to use the gift card for the tip. The manager claimed that this was "a systems error." About 2 months later, I am again eating at this restaurant. In the midst of our dinner, the bus boy decides to vaccuum literally on top/next to our table repeatedly--even after multiple (5) requests to stop. (The cheap vaccuum seemed to have an issue picking up small crumbs and made lots of noise as if something was caught in it.) I worked in the hospitality industry myself at one time for years and I eat out regularly. NEVER have I had someone run a vaccuum 6 inches from me during dinner--even at a relative's! He went over and over and over the same area next to me accomplishing very little. The snarky answer that I received was, "Hey this is my job! I am supposed to do this," as he plugged the machine in 1.5 feet away from our table. The manager supported this as the first thing she said was, "Yes, that's his job." Her first comment. Not, "I am sorry that you couldn't hear each other or have a conversation." She defended the action by saying, "We have gotten complaints from customers in the past about the carpets." Good to know those customers are more important than us because as she explained multiple times, "upper management says we HAVE to vaccuum." Funny thing is we had offered to wait so we would not be seated by the vaccuum, but it didn't happen. Nandos' message to their customers: 1) TOE THE LINE AND YOU'LL BE FINE 2) CARPETS BEFORE CUSTOMERS! 3) SIT DOWN AND SHUT-UP! read more
