That said, getting the food is pretty quick, especially considering the amount of people. There's quite a bit of seating available, but they're usually filled up with people. She definitely gave strong vibes that she didn't want to be there. Other McDonald's I've been to just lets the customer show the coupon number shown on the app to the cashier which is way easier. I ordered a big mac. I'm pretty sure they added a little too much seasoning because it's more salty than I'm used to. I eat at least 3 or 4 big macs every month so i know how a big mac should taste. It was still edible though because I don't mind a little more salt anyways. It was just not what I'm used to. One positive is that the dining area was very clean because every table was spotless. Staff were diligently wiping tables and cleaning garbage. 3 out of 5 stars based on this visit. But they really should change out the extra salty burgers and cranky cashiers.

Metropolis at Metrotown 4820 Kingsway Suite 340, Burnaby, BC V5H 4P1 Food The Spicy Chicken Kale Caesar with half double breast chicken and a side of halloumi stick with chili jam fell short of expectations. The salad lacked vibrancy and freshness, which undermined the overall presentation. Meanwhile, the chicken portion was notably small, though it was competently cooked, with a tender texture and flavorful seasoning. Unfortunately, these positives were not enough to offset the dish's shortcomings. Rating: 4/10 The halloumi stick proved equally underwhelming. Its overly firm texture detracted from the eating experience, and while the chili jam provided a pleasant hint of sweetness, it failed to enhance the dish significantly. Rating: 4/10 Service Service at this Nando's location was satisfactory, with the staff delivering orders efficiently. While there was nothing particularly remarkable about the interaction, the speed of service was commendable. Rating: 5/10 Ambiance Situated within a bustling shopping mall, the restaurant's ambiance is inevitably impacted by its surroundings. During dinner hours, the space felt crowded and noisy, though the dining area itself was clean and well-maintained. The abundance of seating options was a practical touch, even if it did little to elevate the overall atmosphere. Price The pricing was, in my opinion, disproportionately high given the portion sizes and the lack of attention to quality in the dishes. For the premium price point, I expected a more satisfying experience in terms of both flavor and presentation. Verdict While Nando's is celebrated for its bold peri-peri flavors, this visit left much to be desired. The lackluster salad, small chicken portions, and less-than-ideal halloumi stick were disappointing, especially when paired with the elevated price tag. Although the service and cleanliness were redeeming factors, they were not enough to compensate for the overall mediocrity of the meal. At this time, I find it difficult to recommend this location and am unlikely to return in the near future. read more

As good as it gets. Definitely stepping up the game here. I go to Metrotown a lot with my wife and kids. We always use to eat at Red Robins since kids loved it and we found the food court fare to be greasy and below par. It was a surprise to find this gem in the food court. I rarely eat burgers, so I've not gone in here before, but I occasionally got burgers at Fatburger when I lived in the Seattle area, years ago, and they always were pretty good. So I'm familiar with the brand. Tonight I was going grocery shopping with my kid, and I mentioned that I'd like to pick up dinner somewhere as I've been cooking a lot lately and I wanted to take a break from kitchen work. We tossed around a few ideas (poke? Chinese? Sushi? Tacos?) when, lo! and behold, the Fatburger sign glowed from afar, like the Star of Bethlehem, beckoning. Hamburgers! We both hadn't had burgers in eons; in my case, it had been at least 7 months since I had one and, yeah, that sounded pretty darn good! The parking lot here is wanky and tiny and we decided to walk over after our No Frills shopping. Inside, the restaurant is also small but it's clean, and there are a few wall-mounted tv's showing sports events. My kid and I ordered each a CB Deluxe burger and a small order of fries. OMG we both had forgotten how damn good these Fatburgers are! (We calculated that we last ate Fatburger burgers 9 or 10 years ago, in Seattle). Your burgers were cooked fresh on site, VERY generous portions, SO juicy and delicious, with maple bacon and just the perfect ratio and types of condiments. (My kid is very particular about condiment-to-protein ratios. Don't ask!). Super super good. And the fries! I am not usually a "fries" person. In fact, in years past, whenever we went to Fatburger in the States, I always got their onion rings (which were fantastic). But these fries were amazing: VERY hot, very crispy, not greasy at all, and the small size was actually huge (my kid IS a "fries" person and she said the small size here is the same as a generous medium or even a large order in other places. FYI). I was heartened to see that they still have milkshakes on their menu. We remembered their milkshakes as being fabulous back in the day. I'd imagine they still are. We got our order to take out. It took a while for them to make our food, but hey, it's all made to order, fresh, so the wait was worth it. Fancy or gourmet? Not at all. But good? Heck, yeah!
