Sometimes when you crave a heavy light meal which is healthy and at the same time delicious it's chipotle for me. I tried the Metrotown mall branch and it was okay this time. The service was nice and the staff was very accommodating in personalizing the choices. I had the brown rice and spicy salsa with sofritas as main protein , black beans and veggies version. I think the sour sauce or the greens one of them was not very fresh putting down the flavour of overall bowl. But it was pretty heavy quantity and lasted me for two meals. The ambience is nice too and service is super fast as everything is already prepared ready to be assembled. It's a good affordable Mexican restaurant. I got their chicken bowl. It was a bit spicy, but I liked the sour cream, vegetables, and beans. I especially enjoyed both the tomato salsa and the corn salsa. I would say that they have pretty big portions as I wasn't able to finish it. They do have seating for guests, but I grabbed mine to go and sat out on the benches outside since it was nice out. read more

I ordered online from this Chipoltle last night using Uber eats. I ordered the burrito bowl. Half chicken and half brisket. It was a $19 bowl (delivery, fees, tips, taxes extra) I normally would happily chow down on this meal. However, last night's bowl had 95% charred meat (I couldn't tell the difference between the chicken or the brisket) and barely any meat at all actually. I've been noticing more and more that if I order in person, the staff are nice and the bowl is over flowing with all the good stuff. If I order online is a high chance that I'll get what seems to be burnt end pieces, and just a handful of ingredients. PLUS it costs more than if I ordered in person. I understand about the convenience of having something delivered. I pay for that convenience by way of fees & tip. read more

I've had mixed experiences here over the last ten or so visits but most of them have been seamless pickups. Today I tried a burrito bowl with their new flavour Pollo Asado and I must say it's really good. I don't generally like very spicy foods and thankfully it's only a little bit hot. The veggies were fresh and the rice and beans cooked perfectly. Service was great - my order was waiting for me in the pickup rack when I arrived. I am decided to eat in today and thankfully the tables were quite clean. During my visit one employee was actively cleaning both the tables and floors which is a good sign. I'm a huge fan of what Chipotle does. Excellent quality protein, balanced meals and all for a very reasonable price. Serving sizes are very generous as well. Highly recommended. read more

The girl making the entrees was extremely rude. She is trying to be so fast but as a result, she doesn't listen. I wanted a kids taco kit for my daughter. She said it didn't come with it. And I am like umm... so the lady at the cashier said I could get chicken in lieu of one of the sides. This place is usually busy and it can be hard to get a seat. If it is summer I will order take out and then eat it outside on a bench or bring it home. Eating in is nice too and people do clean up after themselves. The food is fresh due to the high turnover. The staff is friendly and will patiently explain if you are not sure of the process of ordering or what the food is. I always get the bowl as I find it less messy to eat compared to a burrito. My favorite is the barbacoa where the meat is so soft and tender. Not dry at all. read more

I'm not too sure how people can rate Chipotle lower than 3 stars. Staff were all friendly and greeted you with smiles. I love how quickly the queue moved and their assembly line of efficiency. It was fast food without it being too bad for you. For $8.95, you can get a huge burrito or all the fixings and toppings with rice in a bowl. I ordered chicken and the pieces had a good grill to them without being dry. I found my meal not overly salty or bland. I squeezed some lemon on mine and it was perfect. I often passed by Chipotle in a long line up and today was my very first visit here. Came with my buddy A around 4PM and so lucky not seeing line up at that time. I got Carnitas($8.95) on a bowl with Guacamole($2.21 extra) and the food was freshly made! I got a to-go box and so did my friend since the portion is so big to finish. Good thing, we did! I really like the pricing and portion and how you choose from burrito/bowl/tacos or salad for the same price. I don't get the negative reviews here and will go back next time. Hopefully I don't see the super long line up during lunch. Going to avoid peak hours for the next time too, just so I get my table to sit. Really Big portions and the option to customize everything ( lite, extra or on the side ) which for a picky bitch like me was awesome However - the food itself left much to be desired. It didn't taste like authentic Mexican. The chips were stale and hard, my hard taco shell was soggy ( which I HATE ) the guacamole was bland with little flavour. The carnitas and chicken both were not tasty. I ended up not eating 80% of my meal, then throwing it out rather then having leftovers. I like this location. It's a bit hard to find and outside of the mall area. The bonus is It isn't too busy here and you don't have to wait too long for your order. The portions are a good size and the service is pretty good. Quality is close to the downtown location but maybe not as tasty. I still like that they have more locations. For Mexican fast food, its not bad as you get to customize to your preference and its a large portion for a low price. I got their salad (which is essentially a bowl with more lettuce) and added chicken, brown rice, both beans, veggies, corn salsa, medium salsa, sour cream and cheese topped with even more lettuce. The end result was really a large concoction of all the ingredients mashed together and near the end, it looks kind of gross but the taste was all there. The cheese and sour cream i will definitely hold off on next time as it made the entire bowl really heavy. The chicken is flavourful and not too fatty while the beans make it a really filling meal. It's a good alternative for a family fun meal with locations that accommodate to group settings, however chipotle also has the convenience of having your meal on the go for those racing for some eats during a work break. This is definitely a place we look forward to returning to. Believe the hype, folks, because this place is amazing. There's a reason why there are always a long line-up here, but do not let that discourage you because the workers are efficient in putting your meal together and getting your order ready to go quickly. The burritos here are massive and the guacamole is fresh, so come hungry. You can make your meal how you wish but seeing whole chicken grilled behind the assembly staff is a good sign that they are using real meat and nothing processed. Chipotle prides itself on using real, hormone free ingredients and it's good to see that it's true. As mentioned in other posts the clientèle can be obnoxious and because you are in close corners there's no real way to avoid it. So come in, get your food, and take it to go. Okey, let's see what is good: - Fast moving lineup to the counter - Burrito assembly runs quickly with some minor delay. - Burrito is filled with rice, beans, hot source, cheese or sour cream, etc - Interior two sections: Quick byte area where you eat standing or high chairs...the other side is where you can sit down like regular eatery - Sofritas are available at this location (Note, I did not try) Now the critical points: - I am big fan of Mexican spicy food however, food is not spicy at all. - Burrito did not feel any flavourful. - Ordered Chicken Burrito but I only got few pieces of Chicken. ( Not Impressed at all) - Price steep, Burrito 8.95 + pop medium size 1.89 = with taxes C$ 11 something. Chipotle in Canada! I didn't know until today. It was pretty busy and most of the seats were taken. However, people didn't take a long time to eat so seats became available. Originally wanted to order some soft chicken tacos but they only had the hard shell tacos available. Ended up getting the hard shell tacos. Tasted just like chipotle. Nothing special. Also ordered the guac and tortilla chips tasted as usual. Staff was friendly and service was fast. If you are ever craving chipotle just head to metrotown and you can shop around too. read more

I actually like this Chipotle Grill more then the one on Granville street. I don't know why but I feel that this location taste way better. Yes its busy. Its kind of part of the mall but you have to enter from the outside. You get off the sky train and walk over the overhang and its there. Service not bad. This is a busy location. Lots of people lining up. Ambiance not bad. This location is smaller than the Granville location. Slightly smaller. After you paid and if you go ask for anything its kind of hard because the place is always super busy. Overall I like Chipotle. Good portion size. Very fresh ingredients. Generous that is for sure. I expect Chipotle to be busy but not slow. The downtown location has line ups but the staff are fast and efficient with serving customers. They had only 2 ppl working the line and by the time I got to the front another person came out to help on the line. The workers may be new/inexperienced but they were slow and thus made waiting in line even longer. The guy doling out the rice and beans was sticking to the one small scoop for beans and rice and I felt like their portions were much smaller than the happy to fill your burrito/bowl staff downtown. The burrito wasnt that bad but it WASN'T the one I ordered. Didn't notice until i got home to eat it and by then someone else got to eat my delicious burrito. I asked a SECOND time and was told it's being made and then was rushed through the line. The portions are really stingy also, I'm absolutely shocked at how bad the entire experience was. After a few visits to the downtown location, husband and I stopped here after shopping. I got the sofritas bowl and he got a mix - half chicken and steak. Service was abrupt and straight to the point. The food was tasty but we won't be back because of the discrepancy in portion. Mine is on the left and his is on the right. The only difference was the corn salsa (one small scoop) - I had more of nearly every topping and the bowls were made by the same person. Very disappointing and we won't be back. read more

Chipotle at Metrotown I had ordered 2 steak bowl yesterday. I was surprised that you have started charging for tortilla. Although it was only .35; will you start charging for the paper bowl too??? Just before I started ordering, the lady had to get more paper bowls. She used the gloves that she was wearing to handle the plastic bag, empty the bowls then threw the bag away. The outer bag has been exposed to different elements. Gloves should have been charged. She return to continue with my order. Food including tortillas should be handle with tongs at all time. I was beyond disappointed after my first (and possibly last) visit at this Metrotown location, which is sad considering they only opened four days ago. I'm no stranger to the salad from Chipotle and is always served a generous portion from the original Downtown location, but I felt ripped off from what I was given this time round. The way Chipotle works is like going down a fast-paced factory line of cafeteria workers. I know that I should be offered pinto or black beans in my salad, but the staff went from putting my lettuce in, straight to the proteins. I assumed that she was going to ask about the beans after but the next staff member was already scrambling to finish my order as soon as the previous one served my protein. I didn't want to hold up the line so I went along with it and decided to opt for an extra side of guacamole ($2.20 extra) to compensate my bean-less salad which ended up to be a bad idea. I don't really know what I was expecting since they already skimped out on my Sofritas, but I was honestly pretty mad about the weak scoop of guacamole that I received. The food itself was not as good as I remembered it to be. Most components were bland from the lettuce, Sofritas, corn, salsa, cheese, and guacamole that I was served. I honestly couldn't taste anything but the mild salsa. My friend was also disappointed with his steak burrito as everything tasted old, chewy, and stale in his opinion. He added that the staff was unwilling to serve more of the favoured toppings despite the skimpy portions. On another note, some staff members seemed to be uneducated about the basic ingredients served when one of them were about to restock the black beans, or as she worded, "whatever it is". I understand the youthful and fun work environment, but let's stay professional! My salad ended up being $11.75 which I'd rather spend on more quality food. First time visiting Chipotle. I only wanted to try because it's always packed every time I walked by since it opened. I was surprised to see how little their menu was and it sort of helped me to make my decision rather quickly. I ordered a burrito...WHAT!? NO refried beans!? Fine, I'll have pinto beans, whatever that is. I was very hungry and I ate few first bites without really tasting. Then I noticed, I don't like this burrito at all. 1) there's no refried beans 2) this white pinto beans had no flavour 3) steak is dry 4) why is there no mild option for salsa? 5) most important of all, there was no spark There was more than half of burrito left in my hands and I put it down, decided I don't want to eat anymore. Maybe I just had a bad luck. So I'll probably try it again in the future and order different thing, but not coming back for a while for sure. I felt $9 for this burrito was bit too much. This is the closest tasting food that reminds me of my Southern California roots here in Vancouver. I've been to both locations here and the food tastes the same as back home. However, this Metrotown locations....I don't think the employees are too happy working there. I've been here at least six times and out of the six times I've been here, four times I've overheard employees complaining about customers they had to serve. The employees are on a break sitting at the tables right across where they serve food and where customers wait in line. I don't know how the managers could not hear since they were talking very loud. These employees should not be there if they are that unhappy that customers can hear they are being talked about. Very not cool. read more

For $8 plus change, this is the best deal in the mall to get full with fresh, tasty food. The lineups are terrible. Avoid coming during the rush. Service is surprisingly slow despite the conveyor belt set up. If this place is packed, move on because it's not worth the wait. Outstanding customer service!!! Since this location is at Metrotown, the employees endure a non-stop line of customers. And, from what I've witnessed, some pretty aggressive and unpredictable customers at that. Despite this, the employees do their job quickly and with a smile. My daughter took me here for the first time. I find it so interesting that you can load up on what ever you want, so if you want low carb, this is the place for you, and if you don't well that's ok too. I found the chicken and the steak to be quite tasty and not over cooked. Loved seeing the chicken/meat being grilled fresh in the back. Everything was fresh and on point, guacamole was delicious. Service was friendly both at the order counter and where we sat. An employee was wiping down the tables and asked us how we were doing and how we liked the food. Impressive all around. read more

Love coming to chipotle! Especially loved my experience today due to one special employee. Usually when I go to chipotle, the employees take my order, I get my food and then I eat. Today however, one employee (who I later found out was named Simran J.) when taking orders talked to every single guest that came in and made us all feel welcome. Her bubbly personality made my day and truly made me want to go back to chipotle again. Though my experience with Simran was phenomenal, there was one employee that soured my experience. I think her name was berleen. She completely ignored what I was saying when I was trying to talk to her about my order, and then later on gave me a stink eye when I asked for a water cup. I understand Chipotle is not a "service oriented" restaurant, however employees like her really upset me! Not only was she being rude to me, but the other employees as well which made me feel bad for the others. Please reconsider who you hire as we see the nature of people when they work and they sometimes can make us feel bad about simply asking for a cup of water. Thank you! read more
