Our server who looked like young Christian Bale ;) was super friendly and helpful. For the start, we had 1L of Tejuino. It came from Guadalajara and made from fermented corn, cane sugar and lime. On the top, there is lime(lemon?) Sorbet. It's very, very very sweet, sour and tangy drink. I mean very intense flavored and worked well with Mexican food. My four different meat of tacos were handsdown delicious. The chili crisp on the table was extremely hot. Just be careful. I can't wait to try another food for next time. I haven't felt like for long.

B got 2 Chorizo and 2 Pastor. They are very generous on the meat. The Horchata was ok. 1 Litre Horcha is $10. Not sure if there is 1 Litre in that glass they served. I can drink it all in one sitting. Overall, everything was super delicious. The place is super small. I recommend going off peak time. If you don't have to work, you can catch their lunch deal on weekdays for $18 which includes 4 tacos and a drink. Unfortunately B has to work so lunch deals will not work out for me. We will definitely be back.

We arrived around 7:45pm on a Saturday night and it was busy with a FIFA game on the TV. The staff were friendly and we got a table after they cleaned one for us. Really cute authentic Mexican joint run by friendly hard working Mexicans. Each table gets served complimentary chips with salsa, which was amazing. I asked how much to get an extra side of salsa and the waiter told me they don't sell it but for me, he'll get me another free side of salsa. My boyfriend ordered two soft tacos and I got the chicken enchiladas with green salsa plus a lingua (beef tongue) soft taco as I needed leftovers for lunch the next day. We also asked for waters and a grapefruit soda. The food arrived pretty quickly and I really enjoyed the rice, refried beans, and the chicken enchiladas. A lot of Mexican joints have dry chicken but the chicken here is juicy and flavourful. The beef lingua taco was okay - not outstanding but not bad. Their hot salsa and creama sauce were outstanding though - we asked for extra to take home with my enchiladas leftovers. One of the servers forgot our water, soda, and extra salsa but we managed to get it after awhile. He was extremely apologetic but no biggie. Great friendly service with solid food - this might be one of my favourite new spots in Surrey.

I've had beef tripe in the past and it has never had a smell or taste (it's just supposed to have a chewy texture). Unfortunately, I was not able to finish my soup. The staff were super nice though and I would come back again to try some other menu items!

The servers are friendly & the place has many large tables suitable for mid to large size groups plus a reasonable outdoor patio section. Great option for a cold beer outside. They offer a 3/$21 selection or 1 for $8 on their tacos. Both my date and I had 3 as we were quite tired. All in all, I'd say serving size is on the small size. The Birria was on the blander side & needed some extra kick . The broth dip that came on the side did not create much in terms of flavor profiles. I did the the Baja fish was nicely fried / juicy. The prawn tostada was disappointing. Tostada was hitting the staler end of crispy and prawns were the very small side which just made the tostada look too big for it. Also had their Mexican style Street corn. This is just the kernels served on a bowl. No cob. I would pass on the corn next time. I'd probably order 3 bajas next time if I'm back in the area.

It was completely empty at 6pm on a Friday. We entered and no one greeted us. Ever. We sat ourselves until someone sauntered out. The older man who appears to be running the place is a character. I truly felt like I had walked onto the set of a play. This man either doesn't care in any way about the success of the business or his customers // or truly doesn't understand what his role is. He refused to give us what we ordered multiple times. If we wanted beef he would say No, it's not good. He wouldn't serve us chips saying our kid will choke. He wouldn't give us a dish we ordered telling us it's too much food. Simply talking to him was quite a challenge and caused tension. We gave up and just ordered anything. Side note - it's a no alcohol establishment. No license. When we asked if they had beer he mocked us - "Ohhh you NEED alcohol?" There's no other way to put it, the food is below mediocre. It's bad. It's flavourless, small, basically a bunch of mush. It's pretty clear things are premade and just heated or microwaved as enchiladas came out in about five minutes. Overall, the place was quite dirty. Sticky floors. And down right rude and uncomfortable. Such a disappointment. They need to get a proper server in place to elevate the experience and invest $$ in lot proper food. At the very least, clean the floors and remember - the customer is always right. Service Quality Service was efficient and friendly, as you'd hope from a family-run spot. Orders were taken quickly, and food arrived without unnecessary delays. It's not the kind of place where you expect white-glove service, but the staff makes you feel welcome, which is all you really need when you're here for the food. Menu Variety The menu sticks to Mexican classics, and that's exactly what you want. From tacos to enchiladas, everything is rooted in authenticity. The selection isn't overwhelming, but it covers all the essentials--just enough to satisfy cravings without feeling like they're stretching themselves too thin. Food Presentation Mexican food isn't about intricate plating--it's about bold, inviting dishes that make you want to dig in immediately. The enchiladas came smothered in sauce and cheese, exactly as they should be, while the shrimp taco was simple but well-constructed, balancing textures and flavors. Food Taste and Quality This is the kind of food that hits the spot when you're looking for something rich, cheesy, and satisfying. The al pastor enchiladas delivered that perfect mix of smoky, savory pork with a deep, flavorful sauce, all held together by gooey cheese. Meanwhile, the shrimp taco was a lighter counterpoint--fresh, well-seasoned shrimp wrapped in a soft tortilla with just the right amount of toppings. No unnecessary frills, just good, honest Mexican food made by people who know what they're doing. Portion Sizes Generous without being excessive--just enough to leave you satisfied without regret. The enchiladas were hearty, and the taco was a nice addition without tipping the meal into being too heavy. Price and Value For the quality and portion sizes, it's absolutely worth it. It matters whether the corn tamales are fresh and the right kinds of cheese are used. The quality of the jalapenos. The variety of the salsas. And especially the way the meats are seasoned and cooked. It seems like the farther I get away from Mexico, the more unreliable the Mexican food becomes (although I must admit, I did once have a great Mexican meal at a hotel in Sweden!) Anyway, Vancouver is pretty far from Mexico. And so the results are pretty dicey at a lot of the Mexican places around here. But Mi Casa really blew us away. It's a little hard to find, it's just a door with stairs going up. But once you're up there, it's quite, spacious, with picture windows lining two walls. I was pretty sure things were going to go well when I got my Margarita. None of that fake Margarita flavored syrup here, just real lime juice and a generous two ounces of tequila and a rim half salted without my having to ask. Then the enormous pile of nachos showed up, thoughtfully layered and covered in the right kind of cheese. Plentiful pickled jalapenos with just the right spice level. A mound of delicious guacamole. And an incredible chorizo. I've never even been much of a fan of chorizo, and if I'd known it was going to be on there, I'd probably have had them leave it off, but it really made the dish. It was complex and smoky, and its flavors infused everything. Honestly, these were the best nachos I've ever had anywhere. I also had the lunch special, which was two tacos. I chose pastor and cochinita pabil. Pastor is a longtime favorite of mine, and this was prepared in a very traditional way. It was excellent, but the cochinita pabil was even better. Succulent and plentiful. Some of the best I've had. My wife had two tamales with chicken filling. You could tell they were homemade with perfectly done cornmeal wrappers and served on corn husks. Service was friendly, and the server verified our suspicion that the owners were from Mexico City. I've dined in hundreds of Mexican restaurants, but I have to say this was the biggest surprise and was among the very top of all that I've been to. It really exceeded our expectations and will become a regular on our rotation.
