    korean bbq burrito
    Andrew S.

We got some tacos and a burrito. The tacos are 4" wide and they have a variety of toppings/meat that you can choose from. They have option of 3 tacos ( $13 ), 4 tacos ( $17 ) or 5 tacos ( $21 ). They have some tortas and burritos. We got the korean bbq burrito. It was packed and a good size. The roasted pineapple gave it a nice and different flavor which was interesting as I never seen pineapple with korean bbq meat before. The pickled cabbage and slaw gave a good crunch to it. Surprisingly it worked. For the tacos, we got the beef, chicken, pork belly and tuna taco. Most of them were good. The tuna one was a little odd. The tuna was good but the wakame didn't fit as most of the taco is soft but the wakame gave it an odd squishy texture. I can understand that they wanted to keep a 'seafood' theme for this tuna taco. Maybe because the wakame is pickled that it has an odd texture almost a little slimy. Don't get me wrong, I love seaweed but this one was a bit different. Maybe you'll like it but for me, it didn't really go well with the rest of the taco. The server was quick and efficient. The place has a lower level and an upper level. You'll have to park along St Johns Street. There is a sign that says you can park along Spring St but it is one way ( eastbound ) so you'll have to loop around

Korean BBQ pork, Tuna, Braised beef, and Al Pastor pork belly taco

After a long afternoon hike, my girl friend and I found this place on a recommended list and decided to give it a try. The place was pretty busy on a Sunday evening and there seemed to be a long wait but we asked how long for a table for 2 and only had to wait 5 minutes. It was quite a bit warmer inside the restaurant than outside but meant we just needed a nice cold drink. My friend decided to order 3 tacos and I ordered 4 tacos with a Queso Fundido to share. The Queso Fundido was served in a nice hot bowl and while good, tasted salty pretty quickly. I had the Al Pastor pork belly taco, tuna taco, Korean BBQ pork taco, and the braised beef taco. The braised beef taco was completely stuffed with beef and the meat was incredibly tender. Flavour was good and a solid taco. The Korean BBQ taco was also great with a sweet tangy spicy Korean sauce - was a great explosion in the mouth. The Al Pastor pork belly was also really tender but quite wet in sauce so was extra messy to eat but the fresh charred pineapple really elevated the flavour profile. My favourite taco is the tuna - the seaweed came pickled and the flavour profile was an explosive party in the mouth. It was a surprising taco and the best tuna taco I ever had! Solid food but wish they offered more virgin cocktails and drinks. Would definitely come back if in the Port Moody area again.

Cute little spot for tacos & drinks! I got the chicken, pork, & ahi tuna tacos. The tuna tasted a little odd.. felt like the flavours weren't there but the other ones were very good. The margarita was also delicious! The location is very close to Rocky Point and the pubs. I recommend that you go during their Happy Hour because the price is way more worth for the tacos. FYI - The prices can be a bit expensive if you go outside of Happy Hours

It is an unwritten rule that one must go for food and drinks after a hike, and what is more perfect than tacos as a post-hike meal? So after our Jug Island hike, it was off to Taps & Tacos. I had been there once before, after hiking at Minnekhada Park last summer, and was happy to be going back. At $6 a taco, their 6" corn tortilla tacos are a good value. I had three tacos -- two of their featured shrimp tacos, and one chicken taco, which were tasty and filling. I also had a delicious jalapeño margarita, which was $2 off, as it was Margarita Wednesday! I'm a fan of Taps and Tacos and it will be our go-to post-hike place if we go hiking in that area. They also have a lot of gluten-free options, although it is not advertised on their menu. [Yelp collections: Poor and hungry?]

OK it's been a hot minute since we've been here. I got 4 tacos this time and I've got to say my favourite was the tuna taco. The one I could have passed on was the cauliflower. But even if you don't like tacos, come here anyway cause there's plenty of other things on the menu AND their hot sauce is *chefs kiss* perfection. I love me a bit of heat and boy did it deliver.

Vancouver is not known for tacos...but this place is the best one I've had so far. Al pastor taco is worth it! There's a line but worth it.

The food was ok. The service was slow due to being short staffed. There were a lot of drink items that were not available. To start : ceviche, fundido, Salsa and guacamole. The ceviche was good. The fundido I would not order again. Tacos: Pork belly, cauliflower, Korean, ahi tuna. When I asked the server about the pork belly she said they were chunks. I got pulled pork. The cauliflower was meh. The Korean was pretty good. The ahi tuna was ok. The passion fruit mai tai was delicious.

Whenever I'm in Port Moody during lunchtime, I love coming here. There's plenty of seating, both on the main floor and in the loft, and the industrial space is open and well-lit. As for the food, I am a fan of their ceviche and yellowfin tuna tacos. The ceviche is served with perfectly crisp tortilla chips and is great for sharing; the yellowfin tuna taco is fresh, has a good ratio of fish to taco shell, and has the right amount of sauce (not too much that it oozes all over your fingers as you eat it and not too little that you're left disappointed). When it comes to drinks, the staff are knowledgeable about all the local beers they offer. Furthermore, the waiters and waitresses deliver great, hospitable service. Today, my server refilled my water glass every time he passed by my table, even though one of those serve-yourself water pitchers was there. More and more these days, I'm finding servers are skimping on the water refills, so this was a gesture that I appreciated. Between Taps & Tacos and Tacofino, which remains popular among Vancouverites and whose wait times aren't getting any shorter, I would definitely choose the former. To me, the taste of the tacos are the same at both places.

Got the chicken burrito bowl ($12). I will say that I would have preferred to get a couple of tacos, but the price adds up pretty quickly, and I would really only be getting the veggie or chicken options. As for the burrito bowl, you get a good amount of food for the price paid. Everything was seasoned well. The service was good. The hibiscus lemonade was good but a bit pricey.

Food is solid. Loved their shrimp ceviche - fresh crunchy shrimp with lots of vegetables. I only wished it was a bit spicier but I really enjoyed it. The Asada, Carnitas, spicy shrimp tacos were all good - the red enchilada was also good (really well cooked pulled pork) but I thought it was a bit salty. The carnita was a bit oily - I don't think they needed to deeply the tortilla. But overall very solid - will come back again.

Unfortunately I have to change my review about this place as I initially thought it was fantastic. We were a group of six and they refused to sit us together because of "fire hazard"- I have never heard something more ridiculous in my life!!! Super disappointed in this place especially since we were accommodated before in the same format. We had to sit separately; shame on you taps and tacos! Food has gotten terrible! The Cajun taco is so salty, I could barely eat it so do not order it! Fish tacos are super watery and sad looking. They took out of the menu the vegan burrito. For $6/ taco go to Tacofino and you won't be disappointed!

I wanted to order a turkey panini, but the server informed me they don't have it. In fact, they only had one kind of panini available (of five) with prosciutto. I ordered that with the regular chips add-on and a non-alcoholic IPA. The panini was terrible. The prosciutto and the greens both tasted old and the whole thing was soggy. Even the cut was sloppy. The chips never came so I pointed it out when we got the bill. The server said she forgot about the chips. She came back with a minuscule bag of extremely spicy tortilla chips and said that's all the chips they had. I now understand why the place was empty on a Saturday afternoon. At least the beer was nice, otherwise this would be a 1* review.

Parking is plentiful on St. Johns, as well as the side street. There is a small lot, but it might be part of a patio. There is also a food truck (I imagine rotating) in front. The building is pretty bare bones right now. There is a bar area, 2 seating areas, and a stage for what I assume will be future live music. And of course the patio area in front. The venue was still doing a soft opening as of the time of writing. As they haven't received their flight paddles yet, there were no flights available. I was forced to order 16oz sleeves instead. The taster glasses still say FMF (Fraser Mills Fermentation) on them. At this point, the beers are honestly quite mediocre. Everything was quite bitter despite being non ales, including the "lighter" ones such as the Cerveza and the Citrus IPA. I honestly had a bit of trouble deciding what to order, as nothing really stood out in a good way. The staff were understanding though, which is greatly appreciated. Honestly at this point it might be better to give them a few weeks to work out the kinks.
