I didn't realize this place has been here for 3yrs because they're located under another restaurant! The decor is nice and modern inside. Delicious food as well! I tried the chicken enfrijoladas (which I've never heard of before!) and churros. I highly recommend both! I'd come back again to try other dishes for sure. My friend suggested this restaurant for dinner. The restaurant was busy and lively when we stopped by on a weekday. We managed to get the last available table seating. After looking over the menu, we ordered a number of items to share. The food was delicious and presented nicely. The flavours were great. My friend told me it tasted exactly like what she had eaten in Mexico. Service was efficient. Ambiance is nice. I will be back when I am craving for an authentic Mexican meal. read more

I went for dinner with a couple friends at Salsa and Guacamole. Entering the restaurant, you are greeted with a modern and clean space that is surprisingly warm for being partially underground and not having many windows. The restaurant was less than half full and most tables appeared to have some food. We ordered the Los Tres Amigos to start which is chips, salsa, guacamole, and a queso like sauce. It was okay, but super flavourful. Just prior to this we got our drinks, I just a Diet Coke and my one friend had a water. We never got a refill on either throughout the night. My friend ordered the Chilaquiles and I ordered the beef quesadilla. It took quite a while for us to get our food considering how empty the restaurant was. When we got the food, it was nicely presented but underwhelming especially at the price point. The quesadilla was $20 and was just a quesadilla with sour cream, salsa, and a cilantro sauce. No rice, no beans, no salad, just a quesadilla. Rice and beans are available as adding but at that price point I would have expected them to be served with the dish, and did not want to order them as a side for an extra $5 for rice and $5.90 for beans. The quesadilla itself was unremarkable, somewhat bland but it was just steak and cheese. The chilaquiles was very acidic and not well balanced causing my friend to leave half on the place. We wanted to try dessert but ultimately didn't think the gamble of a single churro at almost $12 was worth the risk given our mains. All in all the atmosphere was nice, but the service was lacklustre and the food was very disappointing at the price point. read more

This place recently opened about 5 months ago. When I walked in I thought it was super cute! Very clean, sleek, modern, & such a vibe. I loved the decorations and everything inside. We came upon this place by accident when we had to stop at the grocery store nearby. What a delightful surprise it turned out to be! Not only were they extremely accommodating with an unexpected party of 10, but the food was very fresh, delicious and the most authentic I have had in Canada. As a California native, we hold our Mexican food near and dear and can be quite picky, and this place delivered. Awesome hidden gem! The ambiance is really cool, well designed and only a few tables so it's pretty cozy. Service was great. I had the enchiladas and they were one of the best I've ever had - so fresh, flavourful, perfect portion too. I'd give the enchiladas a 5 star but I didn't love the appetizer chips and guacamole and the rice and beans on the side of the enchiladas was just average to me which is why I have an overall 3 star. Really expensive for mediocre food. Kids menu was $15 plus a drink $3=$18 My pop was $5 and I asked for refill and was charged twice for the second pop which I took a sip out of. The portions are good but they have limited hot sauces and they charge for every side sauce and limes. My bill was $70 no drinks except for the pop, one dish and the kids meal with a side of rice. They also add 20% gratuity on a table of 6 or more. read more

Food is good but service is extremely poor. Made a reservation two days in advance. My partner and I brought my 83-year-old mom. When we arrived, we were told that we'd have to wait because one table of people came late for their reservation and the other table were "really good customers" who had been there for 3 hours and were still ordering tequilas. So, owners could not say how long we'd wait and were not interested in having a clear, kind conversation to have these two tables clear their bills to let others eat. Super disappointed. Ended up leaving and trying to find something similar on a Saturday evening wasn't possible. Will not be back until they establish a clear policy on reservations (I.e. 1.5 hour time limit on a table; not honouring late arrivals on reservations). read more
