The food was the best part of the time there then there was the good service the place is just a chefs kiss

I don't like to leave a negative review, but had someone posted this, it would have saved us a Friday night dinner! It would have been 1 star but the Tacos were actually good.. Have not been here in a couple of years, so I checked the reviews, and it still looked pretty good! We went for dinner, and it must be under new management as oh boy has it changed. At first sight, it looked pretty bad from the street; inside was nicer for sure. It was a warm summer evening, so we asked to sit outside. Tables are metal, and the chairs are simple plastic and decor sparse. I ordered a Cadillac Margarita as this is my go-to at a Mexican restaurant. Advertised as "2oz," I did ask about how it was made as some bartenders really have no clue, but I was assured this was the real deal! It came out in a PLASTIC 7-10 oz cup full of ice for $15.75! The waiter apologized about the cup, so I was thinking there might be some consideration in price. It had little to no alcohol in it at all and maybe 4 oz of total liquid. Yes, I could/should have sent it back. Later, I ordered a Regular Margarita, and it was the same. Normally, one Cadillac will do it for me, and after two, I was sure there was no alcohol. Chips and salsa came, and another disappointment. A big part of the Mexican experience, and it came in a very small, thin wicker basket with just a touch of salsa. The chips were fresh, and the salsa was ok, just needed about three times the amount. Even the napkins were shocking small! See photos. (Saving $ everywhere!) The menu is interesting as I normally will get a "Combo" with rice and beans, but most everything is à la carte, and you can add rice and beans for an additional $6.95. See photo for the small cup of beans I got. Looked nice! I ended up just ordering the Cana Asada Tacos and my wife got the Kids Quesadilla. The Tacos were good and as you can see the presentation nice, and the Quesadilla was nothing to mention. Sitting outside, I felt something on my leg and found ants, TONS of ants, all under the table. About that time, the waiter showed up with the bill. Full charge for the Cadillac, and with all the ants, I requested the manager. Our server said they did not even have a manager working, and as mentioned, it was a Friday night! We will not be back, and I hope this might save someone else the same experience. The prices, not unlike a lot of places, have skyrocketed, but their product has diminished. As noted the food and presentation are nice but the corners they are cutting are not acceptable. Lots of great spots that would love your business. read more

Tried Adelicias for dinner and it was really good overall. The choriqueso was amazing and super flavorful and cheesy. The chimichanga was yum, just a bit on the oily side. Loved the pina colada and coconut margaritas. Service was a little slow but the staff were friendly. The place has a nice vibe, though the cherry blossom display on TV in winter was kind of confusing. We also didn't get the free nachos that other tables seemed to have. Still, I'd come back for the drinks and that choriqueso. read more

I was really impressed with Adelicia's!! Attentive staff, fantastic drinks menu and the food was very flavourful. I had the Bulldog drink which is a coronita in a lime margarita. So good! The margarita was not super sweet either as some places overdo the sweetness. I had the shrimp fajitas and my hubby had the enchiladas with shredded beef. We both thoroughly enjoyed it. My fajitas were well seasoned, not salty. Shrimp cooked perfectly, peppers nice and crisp! Enchiladas were wonderful, the shredded beef was tender and tasty. We sat inside but there is also some outside seating too. Staff were attentive and super friendly. We will be back! read more

This place definitely looks bigger than what it seems from the outside. We were welcomed by a friendly server and were quickly seated. We ordered carne asada and enchiladas. They were so delicious. I definitely love having the refried beans in my chip bowl, and being able to mix them into my dish. A few days later, and I'm still thinking about enchiladas lol. Will definitely be visiting again! read more

We met our youngest Son and his girlfriend for lunch at Adelicia's, the first time for all of us. Not overly busy when we got there, but it seemed they did not have an entire complement of staff. The place is brightly decorated with some cool signs. Our server was quick to great is, and we grabbed a high top as we waited for our fourth to arrive. We ordered drinks which were very good, especially the Margarita and Paloma. The chips and salsa came with fresh chips right out of the fryer, accompanied by great salsa. A little on the hot side, but we like it like that. The food was also top quality with plenty to share, or take home, which is what we ended up doing. The food was also great as leftovers the next day, which provides value for your dollar, which is something we can all use these days. The lovely K makes amazing Mexican, at home, but this will be our go to when wanting to eat out! read more

Was actually in the area to try out one of their competitors but after being ignored and ultimately turned away, we found this little gem. I ordered the Chimichanga because I just like saying Chimichanga. But seriously, it was fantastic with great tasting filling and a delicious crust. The bean dip was so good I wish I could eat it like soup. Rice was fantastically authentic and the tacos were on point. Loved the authentic decor, almost like a true Mexican bar. I did feel having one server who also was the bartender was a disadvantage when more than a few tables were being attended. Maybe if more people came there, they'd have more staff on hand and service would improve a bit?? Overall still very good. read more

Came to try this place because of the decent reviews. Horrible service waiter forgot to ring in our food, waited 45 minutes for a burrito and bowl of pozole. I ordered a carne asada burrito knowing there was an upcharge and was given a burrito full of rice and 3 little pieces of meat in the ENTIRE burrito. If you are visiting I do NOT recommend this place. Si eres mexicano ni te acerques a este restaurante. read more

3 of us for dinner on a Thursday night. First time. Not too busy, nice ambiance and seated right away. Started with blended margaritas (I had the Cadillac) which were very good. Wife ordered chicken fajitas and my daughter and I had the beef enchiladas: rojas averdes. Came in 15 minutes hot and nicely presented. Could not find one issue - food was delicious! Prices were all appropriate. Simply good service, excellent food and Adelicia's just became our favorite Mexican restaurant! read more

Stopped in for a quick bite after the gym. I got the Al pastor, steak, and tinga de pollo tacos meanwhile my fiancé got the chimichangas. The food came out pretty fast considering there was only one cook, but there weren't too many other people in the restaurant aside from us. I thought my tacos were decent. Although there was a little bit of house made hot sauce on the side, it could of used a little more flavor overall. The chimichangas on the other hand were really good. We both really liked the beans in the tortilla shell, but didn't really care for the rice. read more

Man... this place is a gem! When most patrons speak Spanish in a Mexican restaurant, you know this can't be a shabby place (at least that's what I tell myself lol) Sopes w/ pork are juicy, tender and flavourful. We find their beef tacos on the dry side but still passable. The quesadilla though, (slurp), definitely a pleasant surprise. The crust has a texture similar to green onion pancakes in Chinese cuisine; both flaky and chewy at the same time Plenty of free parking available in front of the restaurant. Nice and quiet neighbourhood. Food for two plus with a can of pop w/ two beers (Pacifico & Negra Modelo) cost about fifty bucks. read more

I didn't have enough time before we started eating to take photos but we had the carne asada, burrito, enchiladas, all the food was very good it had authentic flavours the only one thing I would change was the chips and salsa would be to warm the chips it makes them so much better. :) I would Highly recommend this restaurant and will be returning. The service was good as well very friendly staff. read more

I've been here multiple times. Quality food made to order. One complimentary salsa and chips when you order. I've had mixed experiences with the salsa and chips though. Two out of four times I've had decently fresh salsa and crunchy chips. Once I got freshly made hot chips and was pleasantly surprised as I did not realize the chips were made in-house. The most recent time I've gone the salsa was mediocre but the extra side of guacamole was amazing. Its a smaller family owned business so the wait is a little longer but I promise the quality is worth it (only reason why a star got deducted). My favourite is the mole verde with pork (comes with beans, little bit of lettuce/guac salad, rice, and 3 warm tortillas). The mole verde sauce is to die for, flavourful with a nice refreshing kick from the tomatillo. I've also tried the pollo en mole, which is significantly richer in flavour than the mole verde. Their 23 spice mole will WOW your taste buds and the chicken just fell off the bone - fair warning though, it might be a little much for you if you don't like super rich flavours. Personally I prefer the mole verde. I have also tried the tamales. I found myself wanting to ask for extra sauce. I would definitely recommend ordering the entrees with mole sauces over the tamales. I haven't had the chance to try the churros cause they're always sold out, but the leche flan was pretty darn good. Coconut margarita was also really yummy! read more

Wow wow wow definitely the best Mexican food in town for far. Nothing like this in Vancouver Do not forget to try their camarón ceviche. Server's (Danny) carisma was 10 over 10 5 stars all around read more

This location offers some reasonable priced Mexican food that tastes quite authentic. I enjoyed their taco combo which includes pop, two tacos, rice and beans for $7.50. Food arrived fairly quickly. The tacos each had two layers of tortilla which is how they do it in Mexico and provides extra carbs and back up in case the first tortilla breaks. Tacos were nicely seasoned. The homemade hot sauces were uniquely flavourful. They have different levels of hot sauce available to choose from. Rice and beans tasted average. We ended up getting churros and coconut ice cream for dessert to finish off the meal. Churros were pipping hot and covered in cinnamon sugar. The coconut ice cream was a generous portion. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this meal. I would recommend you stopping by to try their tacos and churros. read more

I always like trying new Mexican restaurants! This place has a fun and lively atmosphere...I am a sucker for Latin Music! The Taco Combo was a great deal! 2 Tacos - same kind (I ordered Al Pastor...marinated pork with fresh cilantro, onions, radishes and my favourite grilled pineapple...yum yum! Rice Beans or Chips and Pico de Gallo Can of Pop All for $7.50! I ordered to go and they were super quick getting my order out to me! By the time I took a few pics for my Yelp review they had my taco combo ready! Only complaint was I didn't get my can of pop...I don't typically drink pop so it wasn't a big deal at all! The service was friendly...the food was great...and people seemed to be enjoying their meals...I know I did! Will definitely be going back to try more of their tacos...maybe my next recommendation for our Tuesday Lunch Group from work! read more

This establishment opened on November 2. In the same space once held by a restaurant called Viva Mexico, I was intrigued. They have spruced up the decor. It feels more comfortable and far less gimmicky than what one usually sees in a Mexican restaurant. There is ample space, and the wait staff are attentive, kind, and quick to inform you on the menu items. EVERYTHING is homemade. From the tortillas used for the flautas I ordered, to the horchata, which is the best I have had, the attention and care put into the food is noticeable and such a treat. The icing on the proverbial cake (or the chocolate in the churro, if you will) is the exceptionally fair pricing. They are currently situated between Cielo restaurant and Viva Mexico's new location. Adelicia's is the winning choice of the three. read more

Food took a good 1.5hour to come out to our table of 6. We felt bad for the waitress since she was alone. Our drinks took a while but we sipped on them while eating the stale chips with salsa. Food wasn't worth the wait. We literally could have crossed the border and had Mexican food and came back in the same amount of time and spent half the money while getting cheap gas as well. read more

This place sucks. We placed an online order, got a confirmation showed up 5 minutes after the time and when we went in to pick it up... They said they had no idea about the order. Cool. Last visit here was horrific. It was under a different name then. So naturally being a foodie optimist, I venture in, cautiously entertaining the possibility that the new 2.0 version will be an upgrade over the foodie fail disappointment last meal here....wtf am I doing? But here goes...again. Service was good, timely and patient. Appy was the obligatory chips 'n' salsa which was free so no loss as the salsa which tasted like someone just added some fresh cilantro to a jar of store bought mild salsa was not fresh. If that WAS fresh made in house....then boo .... 'cos the tortilla chips and the salsa really lacked home-made fresh flavour. Moving on...to the entrees... I ordered the frugal but satisfying, 2 taco, rice, beans & soda lunch combo and I am so glad to report that it was outstanding! Better than most taquerias I've experienced and their slow braised shredded chicken was hella tender. The Guacomole' was a creamy surprise usually too expensive for even the upper end taquerias(?) and the rice and beans were rich and salty... big yum! Love the presentation particularly that of the beans being served in a 3" flour tortilla bowl....adorable AND mas tasty. The Wife ordered the chicken Quesadillas and although it was the weirdest presentation of a Quesadilla I,ve ever seen, it was a queso laden flavour fest. It looked like three 4" tacos! But they were ( are ) a tasty quesadilla/taco Frankenfood sorta thing... generously stuffed with fresh ice berg lettuce and cool sour cream. For more modest appetite s like ours the starters/lunch menu was perfectly satisfying. Such a strong candidate for a value conscious brunch that u can return again and again. And we def will. We've done take out and delivery from here on three occasions now, and I am totally in love with their chimichangas. So tasty, and the sides are delicious too (beans, rice and small salad). This is also one of the few Mexican places where their leftovers actually taste just as good the next day. I haven't been to their actual location, but I've found our food has always been ready in a reasonable amount of time and still nice, hot and fresh tasting read more

I love the ambiance of the restaurant it's fun without being tacky like the last place was (no offense- tacky can be fun too) I also like that they focus on one region of mexican cuisine rather than just a 'mexican' restaurant that has americanized burritos, tacos, etc. The food feels authentic and because the menu is small, the things on it are given lots of care. Salmon tacos were very very good and of course the accompanying coconut ceviche... I could eat a crate of that stuff. I've also hade their chili relleno and it was wonderful. They make their own hot sauces which are delicious and so is their horchata! I haven't tried their desserts but I imagine they're lovely as well. read more

My wife and I took 3 kids (4, 2, 8 months) last night. Very kid friendly atmosphere and staff. Our server was excellent, brought chips and salsa right away, which is awesome for keeping my wife from causing too much trouble. Kids burrito and quesadilla were perfect for a 2 and 4 year old, but would be pretty small for anyone 6 and up, so they'd require a full meal. The 2 x Taco meal was delicious (I had Al Pastor), however might be a tad small if you were famished. This is totally understandable given the super cheap price of $7.50 including beans and drink, probably meant to be a lunch size, and this was still good enough for a typical dinner leaving room for a churro desert. Margaritas we're good too, and the non-alcoholic versions were hugely popular with the kiddies. All in all, great/friendly service, good food, good for kids. Only room for improvement for the service would be getting the check out a little quicker maybe... had to wait about 15 minutes after we were well past done and then I went up and paid. Maybe that's what I was supposed to do, but generally maybe it should come to you at the table? Not sure, could easily be my fault. read more

I went to this restaurant with my partner for the first time today, amongst the few Mexican restaurants that were on that same block this one looked really great. We started our order with drinks, a pina colada and a margarita and both were poorly made (one was very bland and the other was overly sweet). We then ordered shrimp ceviche, enchiladas and shrimp tacos which I will say were very good! Before leaving we ordered some more drinks because we wanted to let the bartender redeem him/herself but unfortunately drinks were the exact same. Which is why we give Adelicia's 3 stars. Food was great but drinks were terrible. Service was also ok, they did forget to bring one thing with our order but remembered half way through. read more

I have been back to this newish kid on the block three times now, and each time has been a wonderful experience. The food is delicious, well presented and has lively fresh taste with no shadow of the usual oversugar, under cilantro, heavy quality that most "Mexican" places offer to North American tastebuds. Tried the taco carnitas the first time at lunch with a friend who won't adjust to cilantro. I love it, and loved the tacos! Ordered just one so that I could have tortilla soup -- which I found very interesting, and will try again. Not the variety I'm used to, but you could taste that it was really made with fresh chicken stock. (making gallons of it a year, I should know!) Then returned with my husband: he had and loved the pollo en molle; while I had chilles rellenos. Delicious. A really inspired sauce! Next I returned with my friend (who had also the pollo, while I had mole verde de puerco. All dishes were so wonderful that I will have to be disciplined with myself to try something new every time. And there will be other times. Got to try other people's recommendations!! Great service, friendly & prompt, and even the side dishes are freshly prepared. My only caveat would be that I prefer margueritas a bit more freshly limy and less sweet, but that is a personal thing and should NOT get in anyone's way. read more

This is an authentic mexican place. The atmosphere and music selection was awesome! The food and hot sauce selection was amazing. From the chips and salsa, guacamole, tacos and quesadilla it was all freshly made. The price was not bad either. My husband and I tried this place for date night and are very disappointed with the service. We sat at a table on the patio for quite awhile and nobody came to take our drink order and they had seen us because they were serving other tables beside us. I had to go inside to ask for menu's. I had to go back inside to order drinks. Tiniest little dish of salsa (very good) and tortillas for $2.50 when they are complimentary at most Mexican restaurants. The mole had no flavour or spice. I had to go inside again and ask for some hot sauce. My husband got the chorizo and pepper platter and it was a super small portion with no rice or beans and quite underwhelming for $15. Nobody bothered to ask us how our meal was or to clear away our dirty plates. The tables around us were dirty as well. I had to go back inside AGAIN to order dessert and waited for twenty minutes for two sad Churros that were cold in the middle. The only good thing about our meal were the margaritas and the refried beans in the shell that were fun to eat. Such a disappointment for us though considering we have a baby and don't get these date nights out very often anymore so we weren't happy with our experience here and definitely wouldn't recommend this place. read more

Great food. Best Mexican in the lower mainland. The margarita specials are pretty awesome as well. Slow service but hey it's Mexican !

Last time I went there the service was amazing. The waitress was very attentive. But the place was almost completely empty. There was one other table of people besides us at 12:30 on a Saturday. The complimentary chips were fine but a small portion and was never refilled. The salsa was mediocre. I ordered the veggie quesadilla and was really disappointed. I also got guac to go with it. The guac was old and seemed like it came out of a package. It was also a really small portion for the extra charge. My boyfriend said he enjoyed his meal but I probably wont go back. read more

In the spot where Viva used to be is this very authentic gem! The food was true Mexican and tasted amazing. 6 of us ate there and everyone enjoyed their meal and the price was very reasonable. I took off one star as the service was a bit slower than we would have liked (it was the Christmas parade night though so I'll have to go again). My daughter's order was left sitting on the counter as our waitress thought the kitchen made a mistake. Again, I am willing to try again here as the food was so fabulous and I don't think they were prepared for the busy night. Not sure if it is usual for all the food to come out one order at a time either and not a deal breaker for me necessarily either. Just wish the kids food had come out first. Definitely going again for the food and to see if they can get that 5th star. read more

Hoped for great things from this restaurant as judged from all the positive reviews. However I can't criticize this place enough. It's as slow as it's rival Viva, up the block from it. Dreadfully slow! It was 25 minutes before the waiter brought our drinks, and another 20 minutes past that before our food arrived. It's because of this slow and nonchalant attitude that I don't go to Viva anymore. At least at Viva the food was good. At this place, not so much. My son and I ordered the beef enchiladas. When they finally arrived, I thought they brought us the wrong order, as it was covered in lettuce. We were really hungry and dug in. Unfortunately, the enchilada was actually two very small child size corn wraps. The beef consisted of about a spoonful of ground beef (not shredded as I expected) and there was no green tomatillo sauce. Why make you choose between green or red, when your only option is neither? I'd also like to comment on other reviews raving about the great service from the waitstaff. I saw nobody like that, and the staff I did see, never visited us at all. I had to flag a different server down for help. All in all, I could never recommend this place. Poor, lackadaisical service and food that was borderline enchiladas. If you want good Mexican, take a drive out to Aldergrove and visit Mazatlan. It's a mom and pop run place, but they only take cash... and they're in an industrial park. So much better than Andelicia's. read more
