    Chimichanga

I recently had my first Mexican dining experience, and it was great. We were seated with a complimentary basket of tortilla chips and salsa, which was a great way to start. The chips are nicely salted and the salsa is fresh. We ordered the chimichanga, chili relleno, and tortilla soup, and I love the generous portion and bold flavors. The chimichanga is my favorite diah as the chicken filling was savory and hearty, complemented by the rice and beans on the side. The mango sauce was a good tangy addition, though it taste more like pineapple to me. The sourness works well with the overall flavor. Another dish I recommend getting is the tortilla soup. It was flavorful and had a good amount of spiciness. Its portion is also good for the price. The chili relleno fell a bit short for me although I do like the creaminess. I was expecting more smokiness with a hint of spice, which would elevate the dish more. Overall, I'd love to try more Mexican cuisine as I usually get burrito or taco.

Sat for a long while before our server came over. Cocktails were good and food was good but overall nothing amazing. The mushroom empanadas were my favorite thing that we tried. The veggie (cheese) chili rellenos was just okay, I've had better. Would go back since the location is great and menu has something for everyone; vegan, veggie, seafood, meat, gluten free, etc.

Cantina Norte is a Mexican restaurant that is tucked away in a quiet area of North Vancouver known as Edgemont Village. The restaurant has a beautifully designed interior and a lovely patio for outdoor dining. They offer free tortilla chips and salsa dip to tide you over until the food you order arrives. We often like to order Horchata when we go to Mexican restaurants; however, there was no Horchata on the menu at this restaurant. They do have some wonderful Margaritas though so we ordered a few virgin Margaritas and these were fantastic. Highly recommend the Mango Margarita at Cantina Norte! We were a party of 7 people and most of us were very impressed with the food here. There was a bit of a hiccup though with my order. I ordered a Vegan Wild Mushroom Quesadilla and put in a special request for "no cilantro" in my food. In spite of my request, my dish still came with cilantro in it. The kitchen left out any garnishes of cilantro that they might normally use for this dish but it seems that some of the fillings inside were premixed with cilantro in them. The restaurant apologized for this mistake and allowed me to order a new dish while still boxing up the Mushroom Quesadilla so that someone else in our party could take it home, free of charge. In place of the Mushroom Quesadilla I ordered some Vegetarian tacos. These were prepared very quickly by the kitchen and were excellent! Minus the cilantro, the food here was wonderful and the service was good too. We were very happy with the way that they handled the mistake with the cilantro. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, and would happily dine here again! Service: Good Parking: Free parking on the street

Wow!!! Do not leave without trying the chili relleno! Wow, just wow! Between the unique sauce and amazing amount of cheese! I want to come back for seconds! Great location close to suspension bridge and love the friendly neighborhood! Staff was kind too! Patio seating was warm and fuzzy to the soul and skin!

Award winning Mexican food in North Vancouver's Edgemont Village. We had: Blue Taquitos -- chicken, green chillies and cheese, salsa verde rolled in crispy corn tortillas and served with salsa $15 Enchiladas De pollo -- Shredded chicken with jack cheese rolled in corn tortillas with Ancho Chile Sauce. Baked in the oven until bubbling hot and topped with sour cream $25 Chile Relleno -- roasted poblano Chile wrapped in a fluffy egg batter stuffed with chorizo and cheese $26 They serve free chips while you order. My favourite was the Taquitos. It was packed with flavour and perfectly crispy. I wasn't a fan of the enchilada chicken, it had too much onion and minimal cheese. The Chile relleno was delicious but nothing to rave about.

The service was AWESOME! Our server Dana was the sweetest and made sure we had everything we needed! She even offered us recommendations in the area as it was our first time in Vancouver! The host as well was also very friendly and inviting! The food itself was flavorful and delicious! Another note that the food was actually hot, fresh, and ready! Would definitely recommend for visitors!

I so badly wanted this to be an easy 5 star spot. Walking up, it LOOKS like a 5 star spot. It's in a trendy spot, it shines from the outside as a vibrant nook, and when you walk in, it feels like a five star spot. The ambience is excellent. No reservation on a weekend = no chance you'll get in. It's wildly busy. Free chips and salsa while you wait. Ultimately, the food was just okay. Just...good not great. Not bursting with flavour, not too big or too little a portion, nothing standing out. It is above average but not excellent. For $30/dish Mexican food, it is a higher bar. I recommend this spot nevertheless and a wonderful spot to have a night out.

First time in Vancouver and wanted a taste of home. The ambiance, service, and food were amazing! Highly recommend the blue taquitos. The barbacoa was very spicy so consume as per your spicy preference.

I imagine this is probably the least known location of them all. I expect that the menu is similar at all locations though. Having tried this one...I don't think I need to try any of the other locations. The food wasn't bad, but for what we got...I think it was extraordinarily overpriced. My daughter and I both ordered one cup of Horchata each. We were both in the mood for cheese quesadilla. On the menu you can order one 10" cheese quesadilla for $9.00. There's also a Mexican style quesadillas option on the menu which offers Two cheese quesadillas for $15.00. Rather than both of us ordering a separate quesadilla for $9.00 each, and then spending $18.00 total on quesadillas, we decided to share the two cheese quesadillas for $15.00. Wow...these two cheese quesadillas were puny. In all fairness, the menu doesn't state the size of the two cheese quesadillas, like it does for the individual 10" quesadilla. Still though...for $15.00, it really didn't seem like very good value. The quesadillas were delicious, but for $15? Really didn't seem worth the money. We polished off the quesadillas in no time and decided to head somewhere else for some more eats.

Foolish American) when my friend and I were looking for Mexican food in Vancouver. La Taqueria was somewhat near (distance wise) to the suspension bridge. Definitely not walkable. It's in a more commercial area and we had a little bit of trouble finding it, but we managed to and good thing too. The food was so much better than I was expecting. It was absolutely delicious! Super cute interior with a good amount of seating. I want to make a note that this place did NOT have down time. There was always at least one customer at the counter or in line. I ordered the birria and I wish I had gotten two. My friend is vegan and was able to easily find something on the menu. Unfortunately, I forgot what it was, but she loved it too. I will definitely come back the next time I visit!

Has it really only been a week and a half since we last came here? Guess we really like this place!…read moreMy daughter had the cheese quesadilla again. I was very close to ordering some tacos this time but then...my eyes caught sight of the Veganachos on the menu. So I cancelled my taco order and decided to order the Veganachos instead. The kiosk that I placed my order from had a "notes" section so I was able to type in my request for "no cilantro." We also both ordered Horchata for our drinks. While I do enjoy tacos, I guess I naturally gravitate towards other Mexican dishes more than tacos. I just keep thinking that I should try the tacos here one day, simply because the words "tacos" is in the name of the restaurant which indicates that tacos should be what they specialize in. Truth be told though, I just havn't found myself in the mood for tacos on any of the visits we've made to this place. One day, I will try their tacos though! The Veganachos were pretty good. Most orders of nachos I've seen at restaurants are usually larger than this order was. It had plenty of ingredients on it though, and it was a very good size for one person to have as a meal. Not an excessive amount, but not too skimpy either. I quite happy with it. Next time though...I will definitely try their tacos!

You enter your order on the tablets and then wait for your orde the come out on the conveyer belt thing. I found the delivery of the product quite disorganized when I was there. Everything come out and there is no explanation of what is what. I just thought they could they could label what the vegetarian items were when the came out. Several orders got crossed and some had incorrect items in theirs. It wasn't super busy either. Our food was moving to getting cold by the time we got ours. A real shame as jackfruit Mole was very good but the meat ones were getting too cold for me to feel comfortable eating. I'll probably try to tell the cook staff to seperate the vegetarian from the meat ones in my order next time. Still worth a visit though despite all the hiccups
