Great experience with an amazing Mexican food. Their service is amazing as well and the decor of this restaurant is fabulous.
Haven't been to Las Margaritas in many years but my boyfriend and I decided to do a day in the Kits neighbourhood and he inquired about the restaurant and we decided to go for lunch. The restaurant was barely half full on a Saturday lunch and was disappointed that their famous salsa and chips are no longer complimentary so sucked it up and ordered what used to be free and paid $4 for an order. My boyfriend ordered a drink and the chicken burrito and I ordered my usual seafood San Blas enchiladas. The San Blas enchiladas used to be on the regular menu but the menu has been severely cut down. The San Blas now only is served with fish and shrimp but it used to be made with crab, fish, and shrimp. Decent size portions but definitely smaller now - can definitely note all the cost savings measures they are taking as it's getting tough in the restaurant industry. The chicken burrito my boyfriend ordered was good but the burrito was rolled and exactly the same size as my two enchiladas when a burrito order should be one big wrapped up tortilla with meat in it. Decent tex-mex food but with more authentic Mexican options all already the city it's getting harder to remember coming to this old joint.
Very happy to find this place to begin with which has a ton of vegetarian options. We went on a Friday and the restaurant seemed pretty busy and it looked it was under staffed. We started with salsa and Gauc. Pretty standard and did the job. The margarita drinks were strong and it was good. We ordered Mini Chimis and quesadilla in appetizers. While Mini Chimis was a new thing and really crunchy, quesadilla could have been better. I always like if the quesadillas are made out of bigger tortillas and then cut into Pieces. In this case a taxi tortilla was used to make the quesadillas. Moving on, everything on the main course was a hit. Veggie Fajitas tasted very delicious and it has salsa on it making it tangy. Beans and an extra side of rice went well it. Veggie enchiladas with the red sauce was just perfect. Very well Cooked and tasted great. The Mexican rice is vegetarian at this restaurant and that was a relief. Overall very happy with this one and will come back again. Parking on the streets for $3 an hour.
First of all the coveted patio, while amazing, does have a bit of a wasp problem in summer! The good news is the staff makes you aware of that. The hostess did a great job for us. Honestly, the service is what brings me to Yelp today... Our server, Harry, absolutely made our lunch exponentially better by guiding us toward what we were looking for. The tequila chicken salad recommendation was perfection. So delicious. I couldn't decide, Harry helped me. My son had the carnitas - isn't a fan of refied beans, nor rice ... so we got him two a La carte!! No waste AND less expensive. Yay Harry!!! Salsa and chips are so delicious. If you love hot salsa hit up the habanero it's best when mixed with regular salsa and a few squeezes of lime. #menuhack!

We also got table after 30 mins wait but thanks to their phone msg set up ( u get a text wen its ur turn so u can go to explore the area around or shop little bit) Big space in the restaurant n pretty decent patio. I would say its much better to be seated on their patio as you get to enjoy the side walkers n twinkling night lights along with food. (Its less noisy too) Ordered vegetarian enchilada n chips with avacado salsa. Rice in enchilada plate was better then everything else. Cocktails were strong n chilled(all time favourite margarita) Been to many many mexican restaurants in states and in canada as well. There is always free salsa n chips which was not available here. I mean you have to order ur salsa n chips as starter. Whatever. Good place to have mexican food.
After getting them delivered several months ago, I recently ended up here with a friend as the place we were originally looking at was too busy, but neither of us were at all disappointed that we ended up eating here. Our waitress was very friendly and just attentive enough, and the food was once again delicious. The restaurant itself is really nice too, they're nicely decorated inside and out and there's lots of room on the patio. I had their Combination 2 with the veggie enchilada and chile relleno. Everything was super tasty and flavourful, including the refried beans and rice on the side. Just enough bite and crunch to the chile. Besides my entree I also had their watermelon margarita and chocolate cake. I actually wanted to order a piña colada but they were out of cream of coconut. Disappointing, but I had been eyeing the watermelon margarita anyway and it was a great drink - I think they use watermelon puree since the drink had a slightly slushy-like consistency. Chile salt around the rim was a nice touch. Cake and the thick layer of frosting were super rich and plated beautifully (everything was, but especially this). Portions generous all around. What I got this time was worth the money, but I still think some of the menu items are overpriced. I hear their salsa is delicious and would have loved to try, but they don't do free chips and salsa which is a little disappointing, although it is only $3.25 to order them as an appetizer.
This place has gone downhill unfortunately. Haven't been here for probably 3 years. Food was bland and kind of tasteless. When I came in for lunch, it was fairly empty (mind you it was a weekday). Expensive for what it is and it doesn't taste authentic. The taquitoes were underwhelming. The fajitas (got chicken and steak) lacked flavour. Food did come out hot and service was fine. Would not return.
You know that patio that always gleams in the sun and whispers casual good time while you're cruising down west 4th trying not to rear end a bus or a left hand turning vehicle? Well, this is the place. You're welcomed through the door by a refreshing interior that feels curated rather than contrived. If you can block out the obnoxious Spanish techno version of a classic Britney Spears song humming in the background, then this place is a gem. The service is casual and the food feels authentic Mexican with a heavy emphasis on deep fried. Most importantly, the classic margarita is an understated way to get that Sunday afternoon buzz, promising a good time without making you feel like an alcoholic. It even makes the music sound apropos.

Nice little spot in Kitsilano! Slush margaritas were $7 on Thursday when we went which was ideal for the hot weather. We definitely went for the margs! Food was fine, nothing amazing. Gluten free options. Would go again for cheap margs! read more

I had never been to Las Margaritas but I've always wanted to. We initially planned on going here on a Saturday evening but couldn't get a spot, so I would recommend getting a reservation here ahead of time especially if its a weekend. We ended up going there on a Monday evening and were able to get a table for 7 people. The place was still pretty full for a Monday night but they do have a pretty big space so it's a good spot for a large group. Their portion sizes are pretty big! Here are few things that we tried - - mini chimis: which were crispy flour tortillas filled with refried beans, edam, cheddar and mozzarella served with guacamole for dipping. It was pretty good and cheesy! - Nachos Locos: corn tortilla chips covered with cheese, olives, green peppers and jalapeño slices. Topped with salsa and sour cream. I would give it a 3.5/5... I thought the cheese and toppings weren't spread evenly enough. - Chimichanga: this was my FAVOURITE! I got their beef one and the flavouring was amazing. - Tres leches cake: 5/5 it was soo good! I would highly recommend, it was so spongy and the perfect amount of sweet. Would definitely come back :) read more

Las Margaritas is a Vancouver landmark and is always delicious and welcoming. Jack the server is warm, friendly, and has made me and anyone I am eating with feel comfortable and happy. The fajitas are to die for! read more

las margaritas is a fun and casual place for great food and great service. I've been coming here with friends for 35 years now and we always have a great time! sit outside on the sunny patio or sit inside to enjoy the mexican vibes. you start relaxing as soon as you're seated. tortilla chips and salsa are served on the house, and drinks will soon follow. their margaritas, virgin for me, are winners and so is my favourite chile relleno. las margaritas are a kits icon for a good reason! read more

Food was great! Margarita was tasty! But I did get too full from everything lol service was great & friendly. I really enjoyed the ambiance of the place. Really cute place to go for a date or catch up with friends. & I really enjoyed how they make their own chips! They were still hot/warm when served. Would definitely come back again! read more

Looks can be deceiving. Although this Uber Eats burrito delivery looks appetizing a few bites in and this hungry customer was unable to eat another bite. The overwhelming taste of garlic was so strong my taste buds were tingling. For $20.75 my expectations weren't even close to met. The salad was all wilted. I travel to Mexico twice a year so I know what Mexican food is supposed to taste like and this is definitely not it. With delivery for one beef one chicken burrito we paid $60 and got zero dollars of food we could eat. read more

After many years of visits I'm finally writing a review. I went with friends and had their big burrito with Pacifico, and it was great. I see others here talking about the prices and I agree that they have gone up, but so has everything in Vancouver. I don't think these ones are out of step. It will be an expensive visit if you go all in but the flavour and quality is great. Big portions. The decor is as it has been for a long time as near as I can remember but it's all clean and well kept. Our service was fine especially considering how busy the place is now that covid is relaxing. I'll certainly go again. read more
Not that impressed with this place, my girlfriend brought me here and we were craving for margaritas and when mine came it was way too sour, wasn't good at all, the chips and salsa were just okay and the ceviche wasn't that tasty and good the guacamole was just right. Our optimism started to fade as our waiter brought out our first order. I couldn't help but notice a little speck in my friend's drink. Upon closer inspection, the little speck turned out to be an insect. Feeling disgusted, we immediately informed our waiter, hoping it was just a minor blip on our dining radar. Unfortunately, his nonchalant attitude, almost dismissing our concerns, further dampened our mood. There was a basic apology, but we didn't feel there was any sincerity or the level of concern we expected. It's one thing for such an unfortunate incident to occur, but a restaurant's ability to handle such a situation says a lot about their quality and level of seriousness in their hygiene practices read more

1 hour wait even when there were MANY empty tables in the dining room and on the patio. Perhaps they were so severely understaffed that there was no one to cover those tables ? Who knows. We followed up multiple times and were told they were following a *system* .... You mean intentionally not filling up empty tables when there were NO reservations ? K. Weird system that shouldn't work anywhere, but ok. The food tasted like it came out of a DIY taco salad making boxed set. Beans were used as the *glue * to stick the taco shell bowl onto the plate.....WEIRD. 1 star for the properly made classic margarita and 1 additional star for the friendly server. Enjoyed a fabulous afternoon on their patio yesterday with our three month old. Only had to wait a few minutes before being seated on their deck with enough room for our stroller. Since it was a nice day the server was working his tail off to get everyone food and margs. Loved how he managed to maintain a great attitude while being slammed and having to deal with my melt-down-at-any-minute baby and my picky husband's requests. I ordered the pork tacos and my husband had a chicken salad. Neither blew our minds but they filled us up without feeling bloated. The chips and salsa were the most tantalizing in regards to our food choices. The cold drinks and fast service on the patio made up for any lack of fulfilled food expectations. Overall it was a nice stop before hitting up Kits Beach on a sunny day. read more

Can't believe this was the first time going here as I drive by it so often. It has been at this location for so long. Came with some friends for dinner. We had to wait about 45 minutes for 5 people. We probably would have had to wait longer but a couple of other people on the wait list had left. The service was friendly and prompt. It was packed so that's good as some places, the service drops when it's super busy. I ordered the guava & orange mezcal margarita for drink. It was ok. I tasted the alcohol more than the orange or guava. Then ordered the cochinita pibil. It comes with tortillas so you can wrap the pork, rice, black beans and pickled red onions. The pork is oven roasted in a banana leaf which you can faintly taste and gives a hint of flavor. To finish, we got the dessert trio: Churros, Homemade Flan, and Trés Leches. read more
Simply put, everything was just mediocre. 1. Fiesta Platter for Two ($14.10) - ONE STAR Included guacamole, jalapeno poppers, chicken wings, chees quesadillas, chicken taquitos and mini chimis. Everything tasted and looked like it came from frozen. Everything that was deep fried was over-fried and some of the edges were burnt. 2. Cochinita Pibil ($16.75) - TWO STARS Achiote marinated pork with pickled red onions, rice and black beans. The pork was overly salty and lacked any other flavour besides salt. It came with a side of tortillas. 3. Special - Burrito with roasted peppers and side salad - TWO STARS The burrito was incredibly bland. The best part was the salad. Over-priced Mexican food, lack-luster flavours and slow service. Needless to say, we will not be returning again. read more

Food was TERRIFYING horrible, service was sooo bad. It was an evening where I just finished my yoga class next door, and I told the server I was on a low carb diet and needed a low carb plate, so she suggested a plate of terribly dehydrated and disgusting chicken, when she came back to ask me how it tasted, I told her it tasted terrible, her response "oh well, this is as good as it gets for low carb".... When the bill came, I paid 13% tips on top of this over charged awful Mexican food and she gave me a long face, how much worse can this service get?! Everyone in Vancouver is expecting a much higher tip these days when they don't even realize that tips stands for - TO INSURE PROMPT SERVICE, honestly I'm not ashamed for paying her low tip, please don't be fooled by the suggested tip % on the machine these days! Obviously never returning here! read more
