    Beef Fat Fried Rice

Even on a weekday, Nancy's Hustle remained quite packed! The undisputed star of the show was the Nancy Cakes. The cake itself is incredibly fluffy, served with a generous amount of cultured butter. The addition of trout roe provides a brilliant sour tang and a salty pop that beautifully cuts through the richness. Lamb Dumplings: Prominent lamb flavor, which was perfectly balanced by a cool, yogurt-like sauce. You know it's good when you start slurping the sauce in fear that the waiter turning the corner might take the plate away. Wood Grilled Half Chicken: very juicy. Recommend getting it with the Beef Fat Fried Rice Beef Fat Fried Rice: At $10, it is good for the price and provides a nice savory backbone to the meal

Walked in at dinnertime on a Thursday and was seated right away. I've only heard amazing things and came in with high expectations, but will say it was a little overhyped. Loved our server and we were checked in on very frequently. Intimate New York restaurant vibe, seems like a great date spot. For food, we ordered: - Nancy's cakes: definitely a standout dish. Perfect pairing of the honey in the cakes with the salted roe butter. - Wood fired half chicken: VERY tender. Leaned a bit on the salty side but the bed of oil/sauce under the chicken is great. - Beef fat sticky rice: leaned a bit on the salty side but lots of flavor from the beef fat. Shallots were a bit overpowering but loved all the textures. - Lamb dumplings: would skip on this dish personally. Couldn't taste the lamb too much but the sauce and seasoning were very nice.

OVERVIEW: Well-known for a reason, this small, unassuming spot on the cozy corner of a neighborhood gives off casual wine bar and farm-to-table vibes. The food is well-crafted and offers unique flavors with fresh taste. Service is more lax than you would expect, but overall it lives up to the raving reviews. QUICK FACTS: - Parking? Tiny lot directly behind the restaurant or plenty of street parking in the area! - Reservations? Definitely recommended but not required. Would book for Friday-Sun. for sure. - Happy hour? No. FOOD RATINGS: - Lamb dumplings (5/5): Small but mighty in flavor, these were a popular dish and a great start to the meal. I would reorder these! - Nancy cakes (4/5): Who doesn't love a warm, fluffy, buttery bread? These come out steaming hot and the butter melts right in. Delicious but honestly a bit pricy for what it is. - Beef fat sticky rice (5/5): Loved this side dish! The flavor is so good and I love a good sticky rice. - Roasted lamb (3/5): This was good but some of the pieces were a little too rare for my liking, and there was one very distinct seasoning that overpowered the entire dish. I liked the mushrooms and sauce, though. Probably would opt for something else next time.

As we walked in, we were greeted and seated (we had a reservation). The server came to greet us and asked if it was our first time. Server took our drink order and answers questions. We placed our order and waited for our dishes. I noticed that not all servers and food runners described the dishes or explained how to best enjoy them--especially for dishes requiring a bit of guidance. To me, providing these details really elevates the dining experience; it shows a genuine passion for the food and ensures patrons enjoy each dish exactly as the chef intended. The Food: Nancy Cakes - fluffy pillows of deliciousness slathered in butter, roe and chives - 10/10 Gem Lettuce - crisp lettuce, anchovy, pancetta with sherry vinaigrette, nice balance of textures and flavors - 8/10 Oysters - cold briney goodness meets warm chorizo - 8/10 Cheese Burger - juicy, flavorful comfort in a muffin - 8.5/10 Grilled Ribeye - could have been a little more pink, lots of flavor, the sauce was so good - 9/10 Beef Fat Sticky Rice - if you like onions and rice - this is your dish - 7/10 Pistachio Pavlova - crispy and light meringue with a lemon bay leaf mousse and citrus to balance the sweetness... dining companions enjoyed this dessert- 10/10 This is a place for date nights and friends night out. Parking lot spaces are very limited but there is street parking. Make a reservation.

Go here. One of my favorite restaurants in Houston. Extremely similar to Odd Duck Austin in the best way possible and not a single dish disappointed. Our server was great and was very kind, had good recommendations, and coursed out our meal perfectly. Everything was so delicious I can't even choose a favorite or rank them I'm not even a fan of burgers but this one was absolutely amazing. The lamb dumplings were also the best way to start our meal a the Nancy Cakes are worth the hype. Get the steak and sticky rice, no notes There's a decent sized parking lot connected to the restaurant and the ambiance is great for date night/girls' night

Such a good date night dinner! It's so hard to snag a reservation at this spot. Although we went on a weeknight, the restaurant was still full! It's recommended for the dishes to be shared family style. Hubby and I split an assortment of dishes including: - croquettes (crispy on the outside, creamy on the inside) - crab stuffed chicken wings (loved the fish sauce caramel!) - Nancy cakes (a must try! Loved the saltiness of the trout roe) - lamb dumplings (smoky and savory) - shrimp cavatelli (loved the meatiness of the shrimp and the perfectly cooked pasta) - parmesan cheesecake (not sweet at all, the black pepper was a surprising touch) Service was great, and they staff always ensured your water cup was never empty. For drinks, I thoroughly enjoyed my clarified milk punch cocktail and hubby really enjoyed how refreshing his passion fruit mocktail was. Would return for a special night out.

This was a place we had to check out after hearing about it and visiting their other restaurant. It's a smaller place so definitely get a reservation. We had about 6 people in our party, a nice size if you want a group big enough to order a little bit of everything. They have a small lot behind the restaurant to park in, but it's tiny so you may have to resort to street parking. The atmosphere reminds me of your typical intimate farm to table establishment. The service was good, they clearly help one another out. Now the food.... The food. Was. BOMB! There were so many items we ordered that were so delicious, it's hard to pick a favorite. The ribeye is a must. Normally, I'd opt tot do steak at home for a fraction of the price, but this steak was totally worth the price point and the cook time. It was seasoned extremely well and the rice it came it was also amazing. Another dish we loved was the tuna belly. The Nancy Cakes are a crowd favorite, and they do not disappoint. It should be on everyone's list to order. This is a place I'd come back to for a cute date night or girls night out.

January 19, 2026 I live in Galveston and my friend lives in Cleveland TX , we met for dinner after this local event in the city. Nancy's is small, quaint with great attention to detail. Love the RR, too! Great wallpaper with hidden surprises. The owner is Jason Vaughn, who is also a Chef. I asked several waitstaff who "Nancy" was and the stories varied depending who you asked. Our waitress told us "Nancy" is the owners chicken, the mgr heard it was Chef Vaughn's "drag name!" Lol! So basically no one knows, really. My friend got the cheeseburger/FF with water. I got the "satin girl" cocktail (their version of a daiquiri) for food I got, roasted mushrooms with buttered chickpea purée and butternut squash tortellini. EVERYTHING was flavorful and tapas size so we cleaned our plates! #oink!

So excited we got to try Nancy's Hustle in a group of four during a recent Houston trip! I love trying a bunch of stuff on menus like this and I'm glad that the style is shareable plates because pretty much everything we tried was phenomenal. Service was attentive and great from the beginning; we had a few allergies and dietary restrictions and our server immediately grabbed one of our menus and carefully marked it up to indicate what was and wasn't safe for us to order. We knew the Nancy cakes were a must but our server also helped us pick several other items and made suggestions on how to build our menu for success! My favorite of the appetizers were the Nancy cakes (so pillowy and light, and went so well with the trout roe butter!) as well as the poached carrot and leek, which was billed as something akin to a vegetable crudo. It was super tangy and refreshing! The bluefin crudo was rich and decadent but a little bit too salty for me. The gem lettuce was also excellent - loved the brininess of the anchovies and the tart vinaigrette. For larger plates we ordered the butternut squash tortellini and the ribeye, which came with the beef fat sticky rice. Both dishes were phenomenal; the sweetness of the tortellini was delicious, and the ribeye was perfectly medium rare and had an excellent char. The sticky rice was super aromatic and tasty. We were so full at the end of the meal but couldn't resist ordering some desserts as well. The parmesan cheesecake was super interesting and decadent but we thought it could've used something fruity to break up the richness a bit. The standout star of the show was definitely the pistachio pavlova. All the textural and flavor contrasts were super on point; I'd happily eat one all by myself. Really happy with our meal here and would definitely come back to try more of the rotating menu!

After hearing so many good things about this restaurant I was so excited to try, and it did not disappoint!! They have a small, rotating menu are dishes are designed to share. I loved getting to try so many different dishes! For four people, we got the gem lettuce, nancy cakes, oysters, butternut squash tortellini, pork chop, and burger. Everything was delicious!! The nancy cakes and burger are two of their more popular dishes, and I definitely understand why! The pancakes were so fluffy and the butter with fish eggs made it the perfect savory sweet appetizer. Their signature cocktails have some very interesting flavors, I got the winter margarita which didn't really taste like a margarita at all but was still yummy. Service was great, our server helped give us advice on the menu and timed our courses perfectly. Their restaurant is pretty small in a neighborhood area of EaDo. There is a small parking lot, and lots of street parking in the neighborhood nearby - just be prepared to walk a block or two.

Nancy hustle is a cute little restaurant! The ambiance was very nice and we sat outside. With fans for the summer and heaters for the winter it was cozy! Our waitress was very helpful in helping us pick our food! We all liked the lamb dumplings and Nancy cakes! My hamburger was good! A little peppery and I prefer a normal bun to the English muffin it is served on. My finance and her sister split the butternut squash tortellini and the chicken and they liked both! The butternut squash was flavorful and had a nice crunch. The chicken was a large portion and had a bit of a kick with the chili sauce. We finished with the Parmesan cheesecake. My fiancé and I were "eh" on it but her sister LOVED it. It's an interesting dessert and is savory rather than sweet. Overall it was a good dinner! I'd recommend if you were in the area and id be back if I was close by.

Imma tell ya what, you NEED to go try this place. Small parking lot out back for easy parking or plenty of street parking around the corner. The dinning room is cozy with tables, some booths and bar seating. I went with a party of three and we tried 4-5 different plates. Started with some drinks all pretty good, I tried the gin and bourbon one called colder room which I really enjoyed, it is fairly bitter so be carefully if you don't like that. Also had the moving target which was pretty good, just a lil too floral for myself. For appetizers we had the lamb dumping which are the best thing I've ever had, you must must try this...idk what flavor it was but it's it. The Nancy cakes are a must try, I wasn't the biggest fan but the butter/fish egg garnish brings a unique taste. The croquettes were really good, let them cool down cause the cheese just flows out. The burger was outstanding. Finished it off ribeye medium rare and it did not disappoint, the chipotle sauce or whatever it was is a pleasant touch. Really good food all around. The staff was also amazing, came around just enough but didn't over whelm, always refilling drinks and folding napkins, switching out plates and silverware. Gold stars for the staff. Very pleased all around.

Meh! Underwhelming! The best thing we had were the Nancy cakes and cocktails. The burger was just okay and the pork chop was not desirable. The service was good but when you have a reservation and still get seated outside. I'm less than impressed. For the price there are so many more options better with less hype. We opted not to try dessert because the meal was just okay. Croquettes- 7/10 Nancy cakes- 10/10 Beef fat sticky rice 6/10 Pork chop-4/10 Burger 5/10 Fries-9/10 Cocktails-10/10

Are there gluten-free options or alternatives that can be done?

No unless you count lettuce. Even the steak is marinated in soy which has gluten. They offer no gluten free menu choices.

    Is there valet?

    No there is not

Does the burger come with fries?

No. But you can order fries separately.

Is there bar seating? And if so, is it first come first served?

There is bar seating and you can join the waitlist as a walk-in. I went on 7:30 on a Friday without a reservation and we were asked if we would be fine with bar seating and were told the wait would be around 30min. We ended up getting a table before… Read more

Last time I came, there was one veggie option available - wanted to see if anyone has gone recently and have more options available?

We went last night and there were a lot of veggie options not counting salads. The roasted mushrooms on chickpea puree were amazing.

It's a must-order -- seriously, save room for it. We also tried the chocolate chip à la mode, which was really good, and since it was my birthday, our waiter brought out some gelato, which was a really nice touch and tasted great. For drinks, I had an amaretto sour and the Montrose Mami -- both were good, but I especially loved the Montrose Mami. It's basically like a piña colada and super refreshing. Overall, this place is popular for a reason. If you haven't tried it yet, you definitely should.

We arrived before 6:30pm which meant we were able to order from the HH menu. I had a signature cocktail called So Fresh So Clean (love the Outkast reference). This cucumber based cocktail was very refreshing! I also had a Clover Club which I enjoyed (I love the egg white)! Fried Deviled Egg - I opted to add caviar for an additional $8. It was good, but I just really prefer traditional deviled eggs without breading on them. Market Fish - Absolutely delicious! The fish was tender and flaky, seasoned well, and the tomato bacon broth was soooo good! My only complaint was the small portion. Bees Knees - Delicious! Caviar Tots - Compliments of Chef, Ryan (thank you)! 2nd Visit: I came back for dinner. Our server was Chris and he was really nice. We ordered a bunch of items for the table to share. Drinks: I did a So Fresh So Clean because I'm predictable and I loved it the first time. I also had a Negroni and it was really good. Butter Burgers: It normally comes with two, but Chris was nice and brought out a 3rd burger so that we could each have one. I enjoyed the French onion flavor in the beef, but the burger was too buttery for my taste. Crispy Potatoes - Very good with great flavor. Mushroom Empanada - I didn't try any, but my friends enjoyed them. Hanger Steak - It took 40 minutes for the steak to be brought out and unfortunately, one steak was overcooked while the other was undercooked. I tried a bite of the overcooked steak and the flavor was there. The steak was tender enough for my preference. Market Fish - Red Snapper. It was a larger portion, but the flavor wasn't as good as the first time. Additionally, my fish came out about 10 minutes before the steak and it got cold because I was waiting on the steak to be brought out. We get dressed up and venture to Le Jardinier. While we were super excited and ready for a great Friday evening, we checked in with an unwelcoming hostess. Mind you, this is our first impression since we have never been to any of the locations. He asked the hostess if we would be seated close or after our reservation time (that would determine if we would have a drink at the bar), we received a condescending toned response of "you can have a seat and I will work on getting a status update on that." Duly noted. A few minutes later we were told we could go to the bar to only then be escorted to the table. So we will look past that "weirdness" of initial service and get ready for a stiff drink...the bartenders know what they are doing! Martinis were the name of the game and they were perfect. Just perfect. The prefixe and wine pairing was the game plan. But before the fun stuff, came the bread service. Bread was more than bread, it was warm savory pillows with the perfect butter. Made a crumbly mess while tearing up the bread basket, expected table crumbler service, after, nothing. For Michelin, we expected the fine dining cleaning in between each course. The service was odd, and the servers seemed cold. The kanpachi and the scallop of the prefixe were Michelin. Overall, we might give it another shot, maybe it was a bad day...but still grateful to get in last minute due to rodeo season. Let me know your experience!

All of the drinks were delicious and served at great temperatures (hot and cold, depending). The food was also delicious and the perfect portions for the occasion. At times, it was hard to get in touch with our waiter and service was a bit slow, but overall a good experience and I would go again for afternoon tea.

We made reservations several days in advance and still were only able to get patio seats. The vibe of the place is so Houston. It's a really nice restaurant - inside is small and cozy, decorated beautifully. The patio only has 2 tables but it's elegant. And it looks out at the highway, billboards, downtown, and abandoned homeless encampments. During dinner, we had a bachelorette party bus park beside us and a couple shirtless guys come up from the bayou with fishing poles. But it works - that's Houston! Food itself was good, but not great. I'll give it 5/5 stars for originality - each dish was unlike anything I've had elsewhere. - ratatouille- 4/5 - it was interesting, and mostly loved that it was soaking in some delicious olive oil. - broth- 4/5 - a nice little spicy kick, but otherwise was just okay - Tuna sashimi - 5/5 - fish was fresh and tasty! Appreciated the crunch between the layers of tuna. - French cheese pancake - 4/5 - generally can't go wrong with bread and cheese. It's interesting, and I liked the green onions topping it. - Fried shrimp and shiso- 4/5 - didn't love the sauce this came with, but otherwise this almost tasted like a jalapeno popper with shrimp. - snapper - 3/5 - poached, and pretty bland. Came with a very fishy seaweed reduction on the side. - potatoes side - 2/5 - don't get these unless you're looking for just boiled potatoes. They're pretty flavorless. Overall, interesting food for a one time visit, but unlikely a place we'll return to.

After entering, you are immediately greeted like family in a relaxing environment but with top notch food. It was my friend's bday so we celebrated with complimentary bubbles which was a nice touch. We enjoyed a large portion of their limited/rotating menu that did not disappoint. The tuna was my favorite. 10/10. A very extensive, higher end wine list complemented the meal nicely. Definitely need reservations -- book as early as possible. Seating is very limited especially for larger parties. Parking --- street parking around the block. Wasn't too difficult. Definitely a must try!

BCN had me at octopus... get it, get it, GET IT!!…read more The menu was honestly overwhelming in the best possible way -- everything sounded amazing, which made it so hard to choose. But that just gives me an excuse to come back and try more next time. We came here for my birthday dinner and it absolutely delivered: delicious food, beautiful atmosphere, excellent service, all tucked into one of the most charming neighborhoods. Highly recommend the octopus and the branzino. The bomba rice was flavorful, but a bit too rich for me because of the heavy amount of oil in the dish. Still, that wouldn't stop me from returning -- there are so many other menu items I already want to try.

This place is a one star Michellin restaurant and I can see why. They have valet but we opted for street parking as there were plenty around the residential areas. When we went, they were super busy so they took out the tasting menu, however, given that we were not from the area, we knew we had to ask, and they were kind enough to accommodate us and offer it. We ended up getting Guava gin n tonic with a hint of matcha and chili. It was unique, different, and surprisingly delicious. As for the food, the lamb chop was delicious, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The suckling pig was crispy, flavorful with a hint of cherry which helped enhanced the flavor, and cooked to perfection. The two salads was fresh, refreshing, and creative. The Iberian Ham and croquetas looked simple but it was actually delicious and not too salty with the right amount given. The Spanish octopus was delicious but my fiancé and I thought the potatoes could've been replaced with something else as the starchiness hinders the octopus. The branzino dish was delicious, soft, hot, fresh, and crispy. Honestly, would order this again as fish can be a hit or miss, and this was a hit without a doubt. We ended up with two desserts since we actually came here for our anniversary. The sorbet was very refreshing with all the unique citrus flavors. The chocolate cake and fillo dough was very soft and had the great amount of sweetness. Overall, I had a great experience. The foods were delicious and the staffs were knowledgeable, attentive, and kind to every customers.
