There is and apparently has been for some time a RIP OFF on billing at Nana's Diner on Golden Gate Parkway. I have been a 17 year customer through 2 locations and for some reason looked at my bill today. I ordered a burger and ordered French fries which, according to the menu, is one of several items, if selected, comes with the burger. For some reason I looked at my bill today. . On the bill, floating in the right column, unaffiliated or linked to anything on the listing of the order was a $1.00 charge, and lower down, unaffiliated to anything was a .40 cent charge. I inquired about this. I was told the $1.00 was for the fries, contrary to what is stated on the menu. The .40 cent charge, I was told, was in the event I used a credit card. I never do. Like most people I simply look at the total and pay with a tip, in my case, in cash. So for how long have I and other sandwich lunch orders been over charged in this manner contrary to the menu and without any disclosure? I will not and probably should not return to Nana's. The food is good, the servers are great, the clientele local and loyal. From my perspective this is consumer fraud, only in little numbers, aimed at us little people. read more

I came to Nana's looked at the menu ordered my food and then noticed that they tried to charge me more than the menu price. When I ask them why it cost more than what it said on the menu they said due to inflation they had to raise prices and didn't print out new menus. This is bullshit. The price on the menu should be the price that they charge customers... They claim they put a sign up to inform customers of inflation costs but who really is going to read a small sign when they're ordering their food plus they should put a big notice on the menu itself if that's the case. I have sympathy for restaurants who have to pay higher costs due to inflation but I don't have sympathy when they don't reflect these passed on charges/prices on the actual menu and then try to con and mislead customers by charging them more than they expected to pay. What Nanas is doing may actually be illegal so be warned. read more

The best 100% family owned and has been operating in Naples for at 20 plus years by now, true country breakfast cooking you can have in town for the best prices. Nothing like the corporate over priced breakfast-lunch places for sure. read more

After a hard night of drinking and extremely hungover I stumbled into Nanas Diner. I am not a local here in Naples so I dont know all the good spots. This was just a random visit. The restaraunt itself was certainly not fancy and probably needs an upgrade but in the state I was in I really didnt give a crap. The service was good and the waitress was friendly. I got the three eggs sausage and pancake breakfast and my buddy got the club. Both were good and I was generally pleased, though I had to bolt out of there for an emer poop. There is no way I should be yelping right now so I will keep it short. Solid 3.5 stars for Nanas! read more

I had the three eggs scrambled with the country fried steak mixed in, a side of hash brown and a biscuit. He had the meat lovers omelet with cheddar, a side of grits and pancakes. The meals were delicious. The biscuit is the best we have ever had, he took a couple of bites. It's not even normal in size. Gone downhill... The first time I visited I ordered the country fried steak and Mac and cheese. It was amazing and I've had it on my mind since. The mac and cheese tasted like it had multiple cheeses on it and it was very stringy and hot! Today, I decided to grab a to go order and boy was I disappointed! We came here on a Saturday around 11 and it was packed with a slight wait. The chairs aren't very comfortable and they sit lower to the ground then most chairs. I ordered the Burrito with egg whites. About 3 inches thick, with a healthy portion of ingredients throughout and LOADS of cheese. Half the plate is hash browns, cooked perfectly (IMHO). The eggs were of excellent texture and taste. I found the pancakes to have a light and pleasantly sweet taste (without any butter or syrup added). Note, they don't look as pretty and fluffy as you find in the picture on a Bisquick box, but their flavor trumps that in a heartbeat. The prices are more than reasonable here. Three of us spent $24 for breakfast (not including tip). Service was attentive and friendly. We even joked quite a bit. The ambiance is...interesting...and made for some fun conversation at the table. This was my first hot meal a week after Hurricane Irma hit and I was really looking forward to it but things started to go sideways almost immediately. First off, I ordered lasagne and it took the server 15 minutes to come to my table to tell me it was one of the things they weren't serving that day. Okayyyyyyy. My second choice was the meatloaf. I was served a salad and then ... nothing. After waiting close to a half hour (in a half emply restaurant), and unable to get my server's attention, I went to the kitchen door to ask about my order. My server went into the kitchen and returned immediately, plate in hand, claiming it had just come up. Strange--why was it cold then? So she handed me the plate and I carried it back to my table. Whattttttttttt?!? The food: three thin slices of meatloaf (seasoned with an overwhelming taste of some strong spice I wasn't familiar with--not good), over-cooked canned veggies and mashed potatoes. This is 'home cooking' ??? Whose home? Very disappointing. In the meantime, throughout the meal, my server was nowhere to be found. Finally spotted her out in front, pacing the sidewalk while chain smoking. When I finished, I went to the cashier and asked them to find my bill and paid there since I didn't have another half hour to wait for my server. Best tuna melt I've had so far. The bread is fluffy and slightly crispy. Homemade too! The cheese is melted perfectly and oozes through the tuna. Yummy! Fried chicken okra & collard greens! So happy we found this place. The menu is solid southern home made cooking. The service is fast and the staff knows this menu cold. Stopped in for brunch while we were out running errands. Nana's is a divey diner, the kind you find in small towns. Food is delicious, prices are reasonable, and service is friendly. I had the three-egg special. It's a robust meal with a choice of potato and a choice of bread (you can opt for pancakes (3)). A side of meat is extra but not that much. I had the sausage links and they were pretty good. My husband had the liver and onions. He said it was excellent and really liked the brown gravy. This diner is nothing fancy but if you're looking for good Southern cooking, this is the place. We will come back here again. read more

For what Nana's is and how they do it, 5 stars. Nothing fancy, but oh boy. When you walk into the place you'd think this place would be more at home in Labelle or Alva. Thank goodness it's much closer than that. We went there Sunday for breakfast and Monday for lunch. Long story short, everything was great, service fantastic and people friendly. I would expect this place to be overcrowded but it was not. Prices were very decent and portions more than enough. They have 1/2 price burgers on Monday and a $7.99 fish fry dinner on Friday. If you enjoy good old country fare and don't mind being called Baby Doll, Nana's is the place for you (and me). read more

I hate to write a review because I don't want y'all to know about my new breakfast place. Awesome, clean, great food and the best prices in Naples. Ive had the grits with cheese, eggs, pancakes, coffee, etc. It's a hole in the wall but a 5 star secret. One of the few family owned places left and its an absolute FIND. There is a girl with blue highlights in her hair who seats you and gets you coffee/water right away, she is so nice and very good with kids. Family friendly. Lots of parking! So I heard about this place from a friend he said next time you're in Naples you gotta check out dinners it's true Southern cooking wasn't sure what I was in the mood for but when I walked in I saw this lady eating a burger and it made my mouth water so I decided to have the mushroom swiss burger. I couldn't believe how big this burger was when I picked it up I swear it had to weigh pound I've never had such a juicy delicious burger and all my life. Cooked perfectly full of mushrooms and at least two slices of Swiss this burger rivals any burger I've had both size and flavor at any price anywhere if you are a hamburger connoisseur you've gotta check out Nana's although I didn't get a chance to try their southern cooking I was blown away by this amazing burger read more

While coming back from the Everglades we found out there was a traffic mess on I-75 and decided to stop and have dinner to wait it out. We took the Golden Gate exit, found a parking lot and started researching places to eat. My wife liked the looks of Nana's Diner and she got me to go based on Monday's special being BBQ ribs. Well the internet was wrong, the special was burgers for 1/2 off. Since we were having burgers the next day at lunch we decided not to have the burgers. (I saw the burgers later and they sure looked good). This is a simple place, one person handling the front and one doing the cooking. But they were both very competent. My wife had the lasagna, which was quite good. I went with the grilled shrimp and also liked it. This was good solid diner food for a good price and ended up being a good choice for us. Our strategy of waiting out the traffic mess also worked, there were no problems getting back to Fort Myers. read more
