I substitute the hollandaise sauce for their sausage and jalapeño gravy which I think was a pro move!! My second day I enjoyed the fried chicken and waffles. I also had a slice of hummingbird cake. They had this perfect little crunch on the outside, and of course we had to order some "for the table" because that's just what we do. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and all the bacon and sausage were delicious. The lunch crew was just as happy. The bleu cheeseburger looked amazing, and the fries were perfectly crispy. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken fried steak again because he loved it last time, and he said it was just as good--tender, flavorful, and that gravy was spot-on. Overall, Alda's Diner is such a great find. Good, simple, home-cooked food done right. We'll definitely be back, and if you haven't tried it yet, you should!
