Our family took us to Alda's Diner, a new spot they recently found, and wow--what a great little place. We had our two dogs with us, so we sat outside on the patio. It was a little cool at first, but once the sun came up it warmed right up and was super comfortable. The waitresses were so nice and really on top of everything. There were seven of us, and we ordered a mix of breakfast and lunch. Everything came out fast, fresh, and hot. Breakfast was a hit--especially the pancakes. They had this perfect little crunch on the outside, and of course we had to order some "for the table" because that's just what we do. The eggs were cooked perfectly, and all the bacon and sausage were delicious. The lunch crew was just as happy. The bleu cheeseburger looked amazing, and the fries were perfectly crispy. My brother-in-law ordered the chicken fried steak again because he loved it last time, and he said it was just as good--tender, flavorful, and that gravy was spot-on. I was excited to come here for the first time. I then see I reviewed the place in 2022. I hate when this happens :). I, along with my oldest son and his family, had breakfast here. I ordered the Paul Vanderbilt, which included toast, two eggs, two pieces of bacon, two sausage links, and a slice of ham with hash browns. I did finish most of it. No one seemed to have had a bad breakfast. My youngest grandchild enjoyed her sausage and eggs. Depending on the time of year, I can arrive here quickly or slowly. Some good friends brought me here for a late breakfast, it is one of their favorite spots. Well, it is now one of my favorite spots. The owners are on site and working vary hard alongside the other staff. So the service was exceptional from start to finish. They really make you feel like family here. Not sure corned beef hash from a can is made from scratch. The corned beef was cooked on the griddle and had a perfect crust. The skillet overall was fine. The addition of sausage gravy may have been unnecessary but it was tasty. Lots of perfectly cooked potatoes in the skillet. Eggs on top were extremely well cooked. Always sad that a large egg is so small now. Would probably ask for a third egg in the future. Lots of potatoes. The ratio of potatoes to corned beef was way to many potatoes. My wife had the Desantis omelet. That was good. Asked for hot sauce and server said she had some with her omelet. The meal came with salsa. The english muffins were hockey pucks. Decided to come here with my family on a Saturday morning for breakfast. Beat decision ever! Upon walking in, we were greeted immediately by a super friendly woman. The diner is much bigger than it looks on the outside. Plus there is tons of seating and full on bar. Alda's is our go to breakfast place in Naples. Extensive menu, great wait staff and more food in every order than either my wife or I can eat. It's become a bit of a joke between us since on breakfast from Alda's usually results in three breakfasts, one at the restaurant and two at home. Pricing is typical of our area so no complaints there. I also like the fact that when you walk through their doors they tell you: sit anywhere. We usually chose a booth. Everything was great. I seen lots of negative reviews, but obviously I had to try it out myself. I got the avocado toast and a Belgium waffle with OJ and a classic mimosa. I was so disappointed in this diner when I was there recently for breakfast. I was enjoying my breakfast when I heard LOUD and clear the manager speaking with customers at the bar area about her politics! She was talking about what the outcome of the presidential election would be if one person was to be elected. She was doing nothing to temper this conversation nor did the 2 older gentleman.
