I've been to Nashville, but I haven't been to Islamabad (the capital of Pakistan), but something tells me they're fusing the two flavors in the right way. It just tastes good. And judging from the never ending flow of delivery orders churning out of their kitchen, not to mention every seat in the house packed on a Saturday afternoon, sounds like other people think so too. I've now been here twice to try various things on their menu, and while the Nashville hot chicken sandwich is indeed delicious, it's the dhamaka fries that do it for me. The tikka sauce, mint chutney, pickles, cole slaw AND fried chicken make this the stuff of drunchies dreams. On another visit, I really indulged with a fried chicken sandwich between two pieces of waffles. They even provide syrup to dunk this monster into. Something like this makes me feel too rapacious, so I think I'll stick to the maple wings or something in the future. The staff is a delight, so you can't get mad at them even when the food takes a while to come out. I highly recommend ordering a milkshake while you're here too-- the rose flavor is the best.
Namkeen in Williamsburg is fried chicken joint serving spicy chicken with Pakistani flavors. We went for the Tikkaville sandwich prepared with tikka sauce, coleslaw, pickled onion and mint chutney and an order of spicy maple wings and masala fries. The Tikkaville may be our new favorite chicken sandwich. It effortlessly blends the best of Nashville hot chicken with Pakistani flavors. At a super affordable price point, we are hoping they open a location closer to Brooklyn Heights
The food was absolutely phenomenal! The staff so lovely. Everyone working tonight was so nice and good energy! We are not from here and I'll definitely will be thinking of this place when we go back home! The music they were playing was so fun. They kept my baby entertained and so sweet to her as well! Not stingy with their sauce! Major bonus!!
I was introduced to Namkeen earlier this year and have had cravings for an encore of their fried chicken from time to time. Namkeen only uses all natural, hormone and antibiotic-free halal chicken to make their Pakistani version of Nashville hot chicken. Since my initial visit, I feel like the chicken has gotten better and the tikka sauce has gotten more spicy which is a plus for me. I took off the top bun because it didn't add anything to the sandwich and wasn't giving brioche as the menu stated. The accompaniments of coleslaw, pickled onions and mint chutney DID complement everything. I would recommend that you stop in if you're in the area!
Wish the tikkaville sandwich was a little spicier bc the mint chutney overpowers. Overall, it's a great value sandwich - a little messy to share though
The food is underwhelming and overpriced. It's a Tik Tok aesthetic restaurant. Keep walking down the street. I ordered a sandwich, fries, and a bottle of water. It came up to $23. All the food comes out individually at different times. The chicken on the Nashville Sandwich is not seasoned on the inside. The sauce and seasoning on the outside can not save it. All of the french fries were different sizes, almost like they purchased them from the supermarket for personal use. The macaroni had no cheese and was dry. Just nasty work. Spicy Maple Wings had the same issue. No flavor in the meat. They need to marinate or brine the chicken with more than hopes and dreams. The staff was cool. They were helpful and answered my questions.
There is no need to wait and think about this one, the food here is ridiculous on so many levels. Some of the choices on some of their menu items are questionable, but due to me modifying, it made for a massive tastebud experience that I hope to experience again real soon. The Clucking Waffle Sandwich reminds me of a few waffle sandwiches I have seen and tasted around the country, but I modified this one to suit my needs. It comes with a jalapeño and cheddar waffle, but I swapped it with a regular waffle, and honestly, it was the right move. The amount of flavor you get in each bite of this insane sandwich is, for lack of a better word, insane. The waffle is just the first level. Then you get the juicy brininess of the chicken, along with the spice of it. Then you get hit with the cool coleslaw to mellow things out, followed the tangy sauce, lastly getting a strong hit of brine by the pickle. That is the key, the pickle is the reason why you will not be in the bathroom pooping your brains out after ingesting this enormous sandwich. The pickle allows this whole sandwich to settle everything down and absorb all the contact. Everything is done in the right amount, but yet tastes of reckless abandon. If this is how they do sandwiches, then the rest of the menu should fall into place quite nicely.

Great place for fried chicken! I came on a Monday night and there weren't that many people dining in so plenty of seats open. It's a more casual place. The workers were very friendly and our food came out quickly. We ordered three dishes: * Clucking Waffle Sandwich - 10/10 - The batter on the chicken was very crunchy even though it was thick. The dry spice rub was decently spicy and I only got mild. I loved that the chicken was still juicy. I wish there was a bit more slaw and pickles to balance it out. My favorite parts of the sandwich were the chipotle aioli and the jalapeño and cheddar waffle. Both were so delicious! * Dhamaka Fries - 8.5/10 - The fries were not as crispy as i would have liked, but the chicken was crispy. The tikka sauce paired perfectly with the mint chutney, and I liked how much sauce they loaded on. * Tikkaville Sandwich - 9/10 - The flavor profile of this sandwich is very similar to the fries, so I would recommend getting one or the other. Overall, I would definitely come again if I was craving fried chicken. I get sudden cravings for their cheddar waffle too. The portions are also quite big.
Namkeen is a delicious fast casual dining spot where you get great bang for your buck and most likely you won't be able to finish your food, for good reason. I would say that the service is a mixed bag however. The party next to me had their order completely forgotten and they waited 30 minutes for their Anday Wala burger before having to remind the cashier about it. My clucking chicken sandwich was big, saucy and flavorful. Next time I would ask to cut back on the sauce, but overall it was an enjoyment to eat.
REALLY loved Namkeen! Fried chicken, Nashville heat, and Pakistani flavors! Wow! What a combo! I really liked all the different fun ways they use the fried chicken. I'm a spice girl and I love that they have a variety of spice levels. All the staff were super sweet, welcoming, and helpful. The restaurant was very clean and well kept. I like the open view of the kitchen and serving are. Even with the very busy night they were having, I noticed the kitchen and serving area was still very well kept. I took my order to go and even after a 45 minute drive home, the food was still really fresh and so good! I was so torn between what to choose, so I ordered a few different items. -Clucking Waffle Sandwich (hot-blaow spice level). I don't even like waffles but when I saw it was jalapeño & cheddar?? Umm SOLD! This is easily a 10/10 item! The portion is huge! I was stuffed with just half of it. I LOVE spice so the heat level was easily manageable for me but it definitely has a kick. I had 3 other people try it and they all were dying and running for water. The pickles, coleslaw, and aioli complimented it very well. - Masala fries. I wasn't really impressed with this. It was just regular fries with extra salty seasoning. 3/5 -Oreo Cookies & Cream milkshake: thick and creamy and not overly sweet. 5/5 -Chicken Tikka Mac & Cheese. Again, another really huge serving. Was not able to eat more than a bite after the half of waffle sandwich. I give this a solid 4/5. The mac & cheese was nice and creamy and the chicken added a nice crunch to it but the tikka sauce was very rich and a tad overpowering. -Nashville Sandwich (medium- knees weak heat level). Again, really filling and the pickles, coleslaw, and aioli complimented it very well. Easy 5/5. I also wanted to purchase the flavored sodas but I forgot and the line was way too long to go back lol next time for sure! Will CERTAINLY be back to try some more items.
Namkeen is a decent spot for casual dining, but it definitely left me a bit underwhelmed. It wasn't bad, but I felt like it promised more flavors than it actually did. I got the tikkaville sandwich ($12) and the pataka fries with fried chicken ($10). Honestly I was expecting a much stronger "tikka" flavor on the sandwich but it lacked flavor. It wasn't spicy at all and almost felt more like a spicy mayo sauce. The chicken was crispy and juicy but needed more sauce on the sandwich. Overall it just tasted like an ok chicken sandwich rather than an indian inspired chicken sandwich. The fries were honestly pretty good and were smothered in toppings. Again, it's the same sauce that's on the sandwich which has a sweeter flavor rather than spicy but it tasted better on the fries. Honestly if you're in the area I think it's worth a try because their other sandwiches look pretty good but I don't think i'd be back.
Pretty good halal fried chicken shop that's open until midnight! The highlight was their chicken and waffles, the waffles were crisp on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. The sweetness of the waffle + powdered sugar + syrup paired really well with the savory chicken tenders. The only con is that the serving size is pretty small especially at a $16 price point, but that's probably just Williamsburg things. We went around 9:45pm before a night out, thankfully we got there right before a rush. Our waffles came out in less than 10 minutes but they did forget our fries, so that took another 20 minutes. Namkeen is located nearby a bunch of bars in Williamsburg. Lots of people started to enter the shop around 10pm, the line started to go out their door. They also had a lot of online orders to fulfill which could add to your wait time.

The combinations of spices, sauces, and textures feel intentional and unique, especially with the South Asian influence throughout the menu. Portions are big, flavors are bold, and this is definitely the type of place you go when you want something indulgent and packed with flavor. My Taysty Tayke: Get Down & Dirty, Expeditiously: Tikkaville Sandwich One of the more interesting chicken sandwiches I've had. The tikka sauce, mint chutney, pickled onions, and coleslaw all come together in a way that really works. Flavorful, layered, and memorable. The Clucking Waffle Sandwich was spicy with more of a buffalo-style flavor than I expected. Definitely a lot to handle in sandwich form. Personally, I'd rather eat the chicken and waffle separately than together, but the flavor still hits. The Pataka Fries were another standout, saucy, flavorful, and loaded enough to almost be a meal on their own. Service: Quick and efficient, fits the fast-casual energy. A Halal restaurant that present Fried Chicken with a Pakistani touch and as I first timer, my choice of food might have afftected the rating. Food: My Chicken Tikka was probably not the best choice, as I wasnt a fan with the abundance of sauce all over the burger, making it hard to taste and enjoy the actual chicken. While the fried were good and hot when served which I liked! Ambiance: seats are available and the space was pretty clean during my visit. Service: You can either order with a cashier or through the tablet available at the counter. After that you have 10 minutes or so of wait time before you get your food. I will definitely give this place another shot, but with a different order, like the smash burger or regular chicken burger. Then I will update my review read more
Amazing. Order at the kiosk and grab a seat. Got the spicy maple wings and single waffle. Staff was quick and place was super trendy, music was hype. I favored the maple wings dressed with pickles (I love them), I'm sure u can maybe ask not to get those but it does add a nice chase after the sweetness. Saw this place on a Facebook video or YouTube reel a while ago. Saved it knowing someday I'd make it back to New York. The subway gets you from the city to about a mile from the spot. So the walk sucked but it's what you expect in the city. This place was good enough we came back a second time in our 5 day trip to eat here. First time I got the chicken tikka Mac and it was very tasty and filling. I feel like it needed more chicken and less mac though. The second time I got the tenders with a side of fries. The fries were super plain with minimal salt. The tenders were dried out, however the first time my fiancé got the tenders and they were better that time. Their medium flavoring is not hot at all. I'll be back next time I come to nyc. Worthwhile. read more
Heard of this place through ig. I think an influencer posted about it, so it seemed enticing to eat here. When you walk inside, there are tables, but there's no sign on how it all works. It's one of those places where you do take out or dine-in where it's first come, first serve. Not suggested for large groups unless you're willing to wait around until tables open up. They only bring the food to you based on the number placard and nothing else. There's napkins, plastic utensils, and sanitizing wipes by the garbage pail that you would get for yourself. Payment is made at the front before you get the meal. There's either a qr code to scan or a paper menu. We ordered the clucking waffle sandwich, which was huge. It has fried chicken, pickles, coleslaw, aioli sauce on jalapeño and cheddar waffles. The waffles tasted so unique, and you can definitely taste the spiciness of the jalapeño pepper. The dhamaka fries was ordered for the table which consisted of the masala fries, fried chicken, tikka sauce, pickles, coleslaw, and mint chutney. Omg!! The fries were really good. I couldn't get enough of the sauce. I didn't want a sandwich, so the next best thing was the spicy maple wings. It was just the right amount of heat for me. Came with six wings, spicy maple, pickles, and chipotle aioli sauce. You definitely need tons of napkins with this one entree. Otherwise, it was good. I'm not sure if I would return as it's out of the way for me and there are so many chicken spots in NYC to try out. read more
Namkeen has some solid spicy chicken burgers- yes I know that there is an abundance of halal chicken burger spots but this one is really good. I can easily say that the quality is better than Dave's albeit Dave's is a lot more popular. I got it from UberEats and I can only imagine how great it would be fresh. They're also offering a buy 1 get 1 free deal on UberEats (albeit I believe the prices are a little inflated due to that). All in all, it's a solid spot for some high quality fast food. read more

You're not going to be able to eat all of your food -- BUT for good reason. Generous portions that truly could be broken down into four meals if you aren't a huge eater. Tikka melt was suggested by cashier and she was spot on. It comes with a mint chutney that compliments the tikka chicken so well. Never looses the fact that it's a melt but the cheese is present and accounted for. Went with the basic fries and they were good for regular fries. Not high on the crunch factor but they are salted and you can taste the thickness of a real potato in each bite. Mexicane cola was very reminiscent of Coca Cola. I would say the Mexicane cola has less of a bite than a Coke which I appreciated as I'm typically not a soda drinker. The mix of the cola and the tikka gives you a light sting that feels so good! Presentation of food and timeliness of its preparation was much appreciated. You can see partially into the kitchen if you dine in and I liked the patience and care that was used while preparing the meals. Unsuspecting restaurant in the sweetest spot in Brooklyn. My friend and I came here on a Wednesday night around 8:30pm. The place was buzzing and there was a short line to order. Our server was super friendly, explained the menu, and added to our overall vibe. We ordered two Nashville sandwiches and fries! The fries were served hot and we got a very generous serving! Everything looked amazing and smelled even better *drool*! Taste My friend got the naked. She's not a spicy lady and she loved it. Perfectly fried and loved the slaw! I got the mild, nice bite and good flavor. Again perfectly fried, just the right amount of sauce and the slaw was so darn good! I got a tikka sandwich to go for my husband and it traveled well! He was even able to reheat it and said it had flavor to awaken his tastebuds. Overall I'll definitely be back. I want to check out the other spice levels and sandwiches! Namkeen was a great casual restaurant for a weekend lunch. I gave it 5 stars because I can confidently say it's a place I'd want to go back to to try the rest of the menu! I tried the Tikka Grilled Cheese which I honestly thought was delicious. It wasn't quite cheesy enough for me to looove it but for that reason I'd definitely go back to try the Chicken Tikka Mac & Cheese. The sauces are perfect for dipping. My bf ordered the Clucking Waffle Sandwich that looked SO good. If I hadn't had waffles the day before I totally would've gotten it. Warning though, it's messy to eat so keep that in mind depending on who your company is. Our friend got the Tenders, which looked fine but wouldn't be my choice. We ordered one fry for the table which was more than enough!! Great food and great concept imo! read more

Can't believe I haven't written a review for Namkeen yet! I've been here multiple times now and have ordered delivery as well and it's consistent every time. The restaurant has about 4-5 tables and a window bar, so it's relatively small and sometimes means a bit of a wait on weekends/prime time. Decor is super cute and pays homage to the owner's Pakistani roots. Utensils, napkins, condiments, and water are all self serve and you order at the counter. Overall, service is pretty good and staff have been nice when I've been. Now for the food - these guys do fried chicken very well. Whether it's a sandwich or the wings, the batter is perfectly crispy and not too greasy. My favorites are the Spicy Maple Wings and their Nashville hot sandwich. Be mindful that their hot chicken has more of a desi twist - not overly masala, but it's not a classic American/Nashville style hot chicken. The tikka burger is good if you want something with true desi flavors but it's not usually what I go for. Another thing they excel in - Best. Waffles. Ever. Seriously, if you want halal chicken and waffles, this is definitely the spot! The batter is perfect every time! We also tried their kulfi milkshake recently and it was delish! It was mainly vanilla with a hint of pistachio & rose but still tasty. I also love that they have different deals every month like BOGO specials on UberEats monthly and collaborations like their Garam Masalaville Sandwich! Will def be back to try their new gulab jamun waffle which they've started now from their sister store, Chashni! Had it in NJ and it was so good! The restaurant is very casual and normally decorated. Couple of tables with seating and you order at the cash register. I was honestly really excited for this place. Really really hype for Indian fried chicken. The chicken itself was fine but the sauce was extremely sweet and tasted like tomato bisque. The fries were also superrr salty. Heard about namkeen on TikTok and honestly was pretty disappointed. Maybe we ordered the wrong things, but we weren't too impressed. We got the pataka fries and chicken tikka Mac n cheese. The fries itself were good and seasoned well. The chipotle aioli was good but I wasn't a huge fan of the spicy maple sauce. For the Mac n cheese it was covered in mint chutney to the point where it overpowered the whole dish. The dish was also cold, not sure if it was because of the chutney. It also took about 30 minutes for the Mac n cheese to come, just for it to be cold. The chicken in the Mac n cheese was good, but the rest wasn't great. read more
it was nice aesthetics and plenty of seating i really liked the ambiance it was cozy and good lighting the service is fine. if you decide to Dine in they give you a number to sit down with and the chef/waiter comes by and drops it off to you. the food is incredible and full of flavor it's pretty spicy so get mild and it's very filling im too full off of a sandwich and mac and cheese. lots of authentic flavors and delicious spices. everything is well seasoned. on the side note, you will be thirsty so grab a beverage too. tbh they need a brand rename from namkeem to NamKing 10/10 A+ read more

While other reviews seem correct about lagging service time, it's possible that they're putting all the time into preparing a tasty dish. I walked in on a Friday evening, and placed a simple order of maple glazed fried chicken at the counter. It felt like a long wait but fortunately I ran into a good companion during my wait. The staff seemed unbothered while my friend aggressively attacked the shop window to get my attention. This was much appreciated. The seating area was pleasant enough to seek solace from the rain outside, and it seemed like a lot of people were enjoying their meals. Even after a 10 minute walk home with the wings, they were still hot, juicy, and crispy after breaking them from their boxed jail. The savory chipotle mayo paired well with the sweet glaze and the meat itself was well marinated and tender. Despite some of the poor reviews here, I look forward to hopefully making this a go-to fried chicken function and trying more on the menu. read more
Great halal hot chicken spot in Brooklyn. We ordered the following: -Nashville Sandwich: flavorful and juicy -Dhamaka Fries: great but a bit too salty -Clucking Waffle Sandwich: love the jalapeño waffle -Spicy Maple Wings: good crunch and sweetness Note, you can choose the spice level for each dish. Great local spot to stop in for a quick and tasty bite. Gives after bar vibes but also lunch with the fam. I got the chicken tikka sandwhich. Food comes out quick. It was very flavorful. The best part was the chicken itself the crunch on it and the way it was fried was next level; crispy on the outside juicy on the inside. Also got their masala fries. TLDR: A cool fried chicken desi fusion spot! The chicken tikka flavor mac and cheese was so creamy and unique. It elevated the whole dish to have the chicken incorporated and the mint sauce. One thing I gotta say is that they go HARD with how much chicken they put on their tikka Mac and cheese and their dhamaka fries. I may well have eaten enough protein for a bodybuilder between the three items I ordered and split with a friend. And both were only 11 bucks so I am elated. The shining star was the clucking waffle sandwich. The waffle was crisp, yet soft and fluffy in the center. If you closed your eyes you wouldn't even realize it was a waffle with how deceiving the taste and texture was. Really great. As for the chicken itself, it was juicy and THICK. I was pleasantly surprised that I liked the Mac and cheese as much as I did. It had the perfect texture with a little bite to it but not quite al dente. It was creamy and not very flavorful (and seemingly not so memorable because I cannot recall the flavor profile at all) but it was enjoyable! The dhamaka fries were masala fries loaded with the same chicken and sauces the Mac and cheese was topped with so the flavor profile was all kinda the same but the fries were crisp and airy in the center. They really seasoned the fries with whatever masala blend very well so fans of the like will be in for a treat. I really loved their chutney. It was a perfect coolant and distinct in taste, though after a while did kind of just blend into all the other flavors and became unnoticeable. I would say if you come don't order both Mac and cheese and dhamaka fries at the same time because they're so similar you won't be able to appreciate the individual differences of fries vs Mac. Try them on separate occasions. As for service, they are BUSY so fully expect to have to take your food to go. The outdoor seating isn't open yet. They take a long time preparing the food so be aware. Though if you do happen to get a seat, the time each food item comes out is fantastic because you'll have the chance to tackle one item at a time instead all at once. You can pace yourself essentially lol. Admittedly I think it was a mistake on my part to have ordered so much because I was about to POP. I found the medium spice to be just right while my friend found it rather hot but my stomach is not happy a day later lol. If you have a sensitive stomach you're not going to survive this. So go for something more mild. Even so, I definitely will be back for the chicken and waffles. read more

I don't think so, their wings are pre battered and ready to fry - I would assume their other chicken options are like that too
