Namastè Solar is a rare gem of a well-functioning company. The installation of a home PV system is a big move, financially and logistically, so I expected at least a few unforeseeable hiccups along the way. There were none. Namasté was the second company we consulted and the one we went with due to the better quality of the solar panels, their knowledge base, and the competitive price. Their B-Corp status and the employee-ownership model sealed the deal, and I believe we saw the difference in both the quality of the people we interacted with and their work. From the initial consultation and estimate (Gary) to installation and flipping the switch, even to post-installation questions, the process was well-communicated and executed. During the planning process I got frequent email updates from both the project manager (Nico) and a host of other folks, each taking care of a specific part of the project and paperwork and giving clear instructions on the few simple things we had to do. Jason was the team lead for the installation, and he and his efficient and very friendly crew went out of their way to invite me to watch. They kept me updated, the work was done on time, and the inspection and switch flipping happened shortly after. Our rebate from the city appeared almost magically, indicating some good behind the scenes communication between Namasté and the city. I can't recommend this company more highly. read more

I called to try and have Namaste Solar remove and reinstall my solar panels after a recent hail storm. The salesman called me back and said he has to come out at a cost of $465 to even give me a quote. This company is a joke and I would highly suggest you find a more reputable company to use for your solar needs. read more

Namaste is pretty inefficient with YOUR money and doesn't care if a customer is unhappy. Namaste Solar charged me $250 for a very short visit where I went on the roof and pointed out the problem to their technician. They then tried to charge me a 2nd trip charge to actually fix the issue. As others have noted, they are very hard to reach. Multiple attempts to discuss the initial visit I finally reached someone and requested a discount due to poor services. They checked and wrote back, "I've spoken to our Director of Residential Operations about a discount for the service we performed.., and unfortunately your request has been denied" so even with a customer who was pretty disappointed with their services their director didn't care. I've been trying to contact them for months, and now they're sending me to collections. They botched a service call, and I've been trying to open a dialog about it since Sept 2023! They are impossible to contact, as they don't respond to email or voicemail. I am not happy. read more

Namaste' services our solar panels which we lease from Sunpower. If you have choice, choose another service provider, or go with an alternate solar provider. Namaste' will be servicing your panels down the road, and they do not perform well in that regard. Last summer we had our roof inspected after an early July hailstorm. We had a contract with Namaste' to de-install by mid-August, but their first availability for the de-install was out into December, far too late for roofing in Colorado. So, we arranged a spring de-install date. On March 23rd, after some Covid-related shifting, Namaste' was able to show up and de-install our panels. They do not schedule re-installs until after the final roofing permit is issued. By April 1st I had that in their hands, but it took until May 5th before they were able to show up and begin re-installing our panels. They worked for a half day. They didn't show up the next day. Installers came back for a second day, and then left at the end of the day with most of the work looking complete. I caught the last installer as he backed out of my driveway and found out they only work Monday through Thursday, so they wouldn't be back out until Monday. It ended up taking a week start to finish, or so I thought. The panels were not functioning when the installers left. The animal guards were not installed, and has taken another 5 days to get Namaste' to agree that the panels are not functioning. It is now over two months since the panels were de-installed, and they have shown no interest in moving any quicker. I escalated my requests internally at Namaste' to try and get someone out to complete the install, and ensure my panels are producing again. In the meantime, they were paper weights on my roof. The person who I escalated to did seem to care and advised she would take some of my suggestions on how to improve their timing and communication into their processes. But, be prepared if these changes have note been implemented to be without your panels for an extended period of time. Namaste' also billed me before the final inspection from the City was complete, and in no apparent hurry to get the inspection approved. So I was stuck. I had a bill net 10, but if the City failed them, I would have no leverage to get them back out here to resolve any issues. Namaste' truly does not seem to want to handle the service requests for existing solar clients. Their efforts seem to be focused on the initial install experience. read more

Poor Product Quality and Slow Responsiveness Purchasing a Solar System from Namaste Solar was a disappointing and frustrating experience. Following installation by Namaste, the first LG solar panel failed within the first few days. Then a second failed, then another. Eventually 8 out of the 19 LG solar panels in the system failed within the first 6 weeks. For each panel failure, Namaste delayed replacing it saying they needed to collect panel data for at least 7 days for LG to allow return of the panels for credit. Given the high number of failures, Namaste should have worked something out with LG to expedite the process and taken care of us, the customer, first. We purchased the system from Namaste, not LG. Even when the eighth panel failed, Namaste still responded with "We will need to collect the data on this panel for 7 days to process the RMA... ...I expect we can come out to site to swap the modules in the next few weeks..." To make matters worse, less than 3 weeks after Namaste installed the system, LG announced it was exiting the solar panel business, stating that it would honor it's 25-year warranty. I called LG and reported the panel failures. The person on LG's "hotline" told me she would escalate the problem, and someone would call me back within 48 hours. No one from LG ever called back. So much for the warranty. We were stuck with a low-quality product and slow support from Namaste. With almost a 50% failure rate, we finally demanded that Namaste replace all the panels with those from another vendor. Namaste eventually did so but it was slow to agree. read more

Namasté solar is a great company. They installed a system on our home in Golden, CO 2+ years ago. The system has been performing flawlessly the duration of this time. I believe they were a bit more expensive than the Solar City bid that we originally received. However, they were able to install fewer solar panels on our roof due to the fact that they use a better quality panel with greater output than their competitor had quoted. Thus- our roof is less cluttered. The one thing that I have noticed comparing our system to other systems on friend's homes- Namasté's installs are top-notch. They employ their own installers (not contracted out). They do quality work that is both well-done, as well as aesthetically pleasing to the eye. We would have no problem entering our solar panels in a solar panel show (if such a thing existed). Only drawback- we had a remote-monitoring system installed (made by SolarEdge) that is finicky at best. Namasté as well as SolarEdge don't seem to understand how this system operates- and we have had trouble in the past with the monitoring working as it should. This hasn't affected the power production- just an annoyance. Highly Recommend! read more

We got quotes from SolarCity and Namaste. The price quoted was very similar but Namaste is local and employee owned so we went with them. They also said they could cover more of our energy usage than SolarCity. The panels have been working for two and a half months as of today and so far they are generating even more energy than Namaste estimated they would. Namaste was great in every sense of the word. We had them replace the breaker panel while they were installing the solar panels and their electricians were awesome. They worked quickly and everything was finished in two days. I would definitely recommend Namaste if you are thinking about getting solar panels. read more

I am surprised that these guys are still in business. Their customer service is non existent and terrible. We had to deal with Adam, who rarely returned our calls, never returned our emails, gave us incorrect information. When we talked to him, he kept yawning (on several different occasions). You can never get anyone on the phone right away, have to leave a voice mail and prey that they will consider calling you back in day or two or never. We just turned on our Namaste panels today. We have been extremely happy with Namaste's installation and service. They started the installation sooner than promised and finished in the time quoted, despite working in freezing rain one day and snow the next. The installers even shoveled our sidewalk for us! I waited 5 years to post this review. 5 years ago, Namaste installed panels on our house. The company has nothing but nice people working for them. That is the positive for this review. The company promised that, on average, my system would produce 15,780 kwh per year. First year, it actually produced 14,540 kwh Second year produced 14,549 kwh Third year produced 15,310 kwh Fourth year produced 14,893 kwh Fifth year produced 15,433 kwh Five of five years, this system under performed. I have brought this deficiency to the attention of the owners at Namaste, and they just shrug their shoulders, and say that their calculations are correct, and that some years, the system will under produce and other years, will over produce. 5 years of underproduction, and 0 years of overproduction indicates that their calcuations are NOT correct. After 5 years, I think it is safe to say that Namaste over promises, and under delivers. read more

We got solar intalled our our roof in 2015. Over the years we have been very happy with our panels and they are producing more power than we anticipated. Namaste did a great job with the installation, everything went smoothly and professionally. It gives my husband and I on going joy to know we are producing all of our own power, plus we get a monthly check from Xcel Energy. I called Namaste for some repair work on my house's array due to squirrel damage, having panels removed and re-installed so roof repair could be done. Everyone I worked with was friendly and seemed to know their business, and that part of the job went well. We then tried to follow-up with installation of animal guard and repair of some micro inverters, and communication seemed to grind to a halt. Our panels are slightly non-typical and I got the impression that at the end of the day they just didn't want to do the work. Maybe the scale of the job was too small for them, I don't know. Five stars for my experience with Namaste, whom I am not using for my potential installation. Of all the companies I contacted, Mira responded to my inquiry immediately (and, as of this writing, I have still not heard from any of the others). She asked some questions and stated up front that scheduling is five months out. After reviewing my home's energy usage figures, she reached back out --- the same day still --- to apologetically say that my energy usage is below their minimum requirements for an installation. *** Update**** 6/29/2015 Namaste originally told us that it would take 1-5 weeks to get the net meter installed by Xcel Energy, but also told us it is an average of 2 weeks. Sure enough, 2 weeks to the day, Xcel was out here and installed the net meter. We have now been producing our own energy for 4 days now. I couldn't be more impressed. We have had 2 days of cloudless warm days and 2 days of cloudy days. Interestingly enough, the closest we got to our 7.9kW "Max" was on the cloudy days. I guess solar panels do better when it isn't incredibly hot outside. With that said, we produced the most on the cloudless days. On each of the cloudless days, we produced about 54 kwh of power and on the cloudy days, we produced just 10 less, around 44 kwh. Both of those numbers are amazing. Those numbers allow us to "bank" the energy for the days that its stormy and not producing. So far, the meter is just constantly running backwards during the day and we are expecting a $0 bill for our electricity this month. Namaste was on target with their estimations and were honest from the get go. We went a little bigger with our system so that we can run our heated floors in the winter, but we probably could have gone less. Absolutely recommend this company. Original Post My fiance and I bought a house this past December, and like many, got a bit of sticker shock when we saw our first electric bill. We consider ourselves to be efficient with our electricity, but with a much larger house and heated tile floors in our basement, we had an enormous bill on our first month of electricity. We instantly looked at solar. The first place I looked was Solar City, a company that advertises everywhere, including our local Home Depot. I called them, got a quote, and it sounded pretty cool. Then I did the research. Sure, it would cost me nothing to get them installed on my house, but I wouldn't benefit other than about 10 bucks off my bill every month and in the future when xcel raises their price. In a nutshell, I would be paying Solar City for the energy produced off my own roof, instead of paying Xcel Energy for the energy that they provide. Not much of a benefit. I looked up places and found Namaste. They had great reviews, great references, and they were incredibly quick to respond to me. They have a fantastic financing option that had me sold. They do a 12 year low interest rate loan on a majority of the cost of the solar panels. Then, they do a 1 year, same as cash loan that is "floated" until I get the federal rebate next year to the tune of 8k. When I get that, I give it to them, with no interest. Takes a huge chunk out of the cost of the panels. I got a 7.92 KW system that is slated to produce about 12,000 Kwh of electricity a year. This will cover all (most likely more) than we will need. It banks up, so whatever I don't use, I can use in the coming months. (Particularly useful in the winter when I want to use those forbidden heated tile floors). I started this process in February. They aren't a HUGE company so they don't have the people to install the panels right away, but it gave us time to do all the research and get all of our ducks in a row. Namaste took care of the permits, inspections, and drew up all the plans. We really didn't have to do anything. It was originally supposed to be installed in late July, but they are continually hiring new "Co-Owners" (Their company is owned by employees) and the panels ended up being installed last week, early June. It only took them 2 days to install and it was inspected and approved the following day. Now we just have to wait for Xcel to come by and install the net meter, which, apparently takes around 2 weeks. I can't wait to turn them on! I will update my review as soon as they are on and functioning. So far, Namaste has 5 star service all the way. read more

10 minutes ago Namaste is here installing my solar panels, and it has been nothing but poor communication from day 1. I had priced out and agreed on a system a year ago, but then the salesperson I was working with left Namaste and the ball was dropped. When I got in touch with them to see where we were in the process, I found out that I had to start all over again and also that they would not honor the pricing previously agreed upon. Adam, the new salesman, simply gave me a blank stare and lip service. With many reservations, but relying on the generally positive feedback I'd heard about Namaste, I re-contracted with them and submitted all the paperwork and HOA approval. I was initially contacted by two different Namaste employees, each claiming that they were the project manager for our solar. After that issue was straightened out, I heard nothing from anyone at Namaste for over a month, and once again I had to follow up with them about the status. I was told in May that my install was scheduled for August -- that was news to me! I wonder at what point they were going to let me, the homeowner, know the installation time-frame or what was happening at all. At my request, they did move up the installation date, but as the day approached, they pushed it out a day, a half day, etc. Finally, I called the project manager, Justin, to ask a few questions. Every bit of information that he gave me on the phone, in regards to holes placed in my roof and who to expect, was wrong. When Namaste's electrician called me on the start date, I discovered the plans were very different from what the project manager had just informed me that morning! I can not speak to the efficiency or quality of their installation, as it is not completed yet. However, for the $28000+ system that we purchased, I can definitely say that Namaste's level of communication, accuracy of information provided to customers, and willingness to work things out with customers is terrible. I can only blame myself, as I have been repeatedly tempted to cancel the whole project, but was unwilling to relinquish the substantial deposit I had to place with them. I can only hope that their panels and workmanship are better than their extremely poor customer service. read more

They communicated with us very well during the entire process, from initial contact to "flipping the switch". They came in on budget, before timeline, and the system is producing more than what they forecast ! I would recommend them to anybody. Namaste did not install our system in 2009, but we have been using them since 2016 for warranty issues and to remove and reinstall the system when we had our roof replaced (the original company that installed the system no longer does maintenance).I hate to say it, but the honeymoon ends. Solar systems do break down over time and when they need to be repaired, all of that customer service you get when purchasing your system disappears. They are incredibly slow to answer calls, email with requests to check out issues. The time between removal and reinstall was quite protracted simply because we were not a priority to them. They finished reinstalling and then gave us no follow up that the job was done. When I looked online the next day, I saw that 4/17 panels were not operating. I have been trying to chase them down for 4 days now and not a peep. When I had a warranty issue that took ages to be diagnosed, they charged me for the diagnosis (as well as billing the manufacturer for the labor and replacement). I feel at their mercy and it does not feel good. read more

We liked the people at Namaste Solar a lot, but have been disappointed in the system. We suspect that the root cause is 50-50 between us and Namaste, We thought we were clear about our expectations, but we apparently were not. We thought our system would supply 1.2X all of our electrical needs (including AC) and the system in fact would not, if we ran the AC all Summer (my dream). So this review is more a buyer beware than a critique. Be very clear about your goals. It is easy to be trapped in the minutiae of the planning and engineering and to wind up with regrets. We have purchased heat pump splits to reduce our consumption and I suspect those alone will be far more cost and environment effective than the solar installation. read more

First, everyone acts like an owner of the company. Next, these are the most professional and well spoken group of young men I have dealt with in years. Everything went smooth. I had a ground mounted installation (40 Panels) and their trucks did leave the ground uneven. I was not happy with that, then my wife pointed out 'How in the world are the service trucks and concrete trucks supposed to make it to the site?' Duhh, that was my not thinking the process through, not the fault of Namaste'. After two full months of running and being hooked up to the electric company I am producing more than I am using. I notice a small problem with the levelness of the panels, called, and got taken care of very-very quickly with only one call, no hassles. Thanks to all the owners of Namaste!
