I had Bestway insulation 15+ years ago blow cellulose in our attics and crawl space. They did a great job, and their prices were by far the best. Since then, I have referred hundreds of customers to this place over the years with my Window Company JDI Windows. All customers say they are knowledgeable, have more sevices for energy audit issues, and prices are very competitive. When it comes to blowing cellulose in walls or attics or thermal barriers for crawl spaces or insulating around canned lights, Bestway is who I recommend to everyone trying to seal up their home. read more

A few of our neighbors heartily recommended this place but for the life of me I don't know why. It was worse than pulling teeth for them to get back to me (they never did, I finally got 'lucky' and someone answered the phone), but then they never showed up, TWICE, no phone call and no apology. Instead, I got an earful how 'Steve' got no work done because he didn't adhere to his schedule and went to the wrong address. ??? Why do I care? I don't. Five hours after the fact and 'Steve' didn't check in with the office, and the office didn't reach out to say 'Oops, we did it again.' Not getting a third chance to not show up. **For a quote.** Imagine if we'd scheduled to do the work with them? As if. rec'd this defensive, unprofessional response from the owner, Debra W., who continues to demonstrate customer service doesn't exist at Bestway, although she did make my husband laugh aloud at her, so there's that positive, I suppose. "We aren't perfect and never said we were. We have been working 14-18 hours a day. I personally I have had 3 days off since the fires. The crews have had one day off a week. We are tired, we are exhausted, but we are trying to do the best we can. As a resident of Lafayette, and Louisville we are not gouging our neighbors like other companies. And we get alot [sic] of complements [sic] every day. So we must be doing something right. We don't make you sign a contract and we get the highest results out there so you are free to go with who ever you like." We did go with another firm, NetZero, who had excellent customer service, showed up every time they said they would, doesn't have one "sign a contract," has received numerous compliments and recommendations from our neighbors here in the Marshall Fire impacted neighborhoods (Superior and Louisville), did all the paperwork for us with the rebates, and charged a fair price, no gouging. Tip to Debra W.: next time you get a negative albeit honest review, instead of lashing out at the reviewer, take a moment to really read it and see what you can take away from it. If you still feel moved to reply, instead of being ugly and defensive, maybe say how sorry you are about the two no-shows and the poor customer service, that you are exhausted, etc., although that's no excuse, and you're sorry this customer slipped through the cracks. You can add that as a Lafayette resident you take treating residents of Louisville and Lafayette (and hopefully Superior, Broomfield, Erie) fairly. We had Bestway come out in August 2021 to do insulation work. They did our attic insulation but they were out of the materials needed to do the crawlspace insulation, which was part of the scope of the work. The man who came mentioned it will be a while for those materials to come in, but because of that inconvenience, when it does come in, they will come finish the job with no additional charges. Sure enough, we called today to see if the materials had come in and I guess business is good, because they said they are booked out and can't honor what the first technician said. This feels like a major bait and switch and we will no longer recommend this company to our friends & family. read more

After purchasing a 20 year old house in Longmont, we contracted Bestway Insulation to insulate our garage ceiling and walls to an R-50 value and bring house attic batt type insulation from an R-15 to R-60 rating. They also "air-sealed" the house attic to minimize heat transfer due to air circulation from light fixtures and wall cavities that can communicate with the attic. Initially, we were somewhat concerned that injection of their cellulose insulating product into vertical wall cavities (where very low grade batt insulation had been originally installed) would not fill those cavities from ceiling to floor. However, their inserted wand technique proved to be very effective in placement of insulation. This placement technique easily compressed the in-place batt insulation leaving fully packed chambers. Although our house is over 5,000 sq. ft., by opening windows after 9pm and allowing night cooling to lower house temps to low 70s and then closing windows, Bestway's insulation now keeps the house interior and garage below 80F on sunny 95F days without any AC. As our garage is used as a serious shop it is now comfortable without adding AC. We expect similar results with heat retention during winter months. One other feature of injected cellulose insulation is its ability to dampen noise communication between rooms, bathrooms, and floors. This is something that is for, the most part, unobtainable with batt type insulation. Also, Bestway conducted an energy audit on the house before and after insulation that records overall changes in air circulation from their work. This data is submitted by Bestway to energy suppliers such as electric and gas and can result in significant rebates from those suppliers. read more

I just received my Xcel bill since having attic sealing, attic insulation AND wall insulation done. My Xcel bill was $184.00 lower than last Jan. Last yr I was always the highest user for energy use in my neighborhood. This bill I am below the MOST efficient neighbors! Best Way explained everything thoroughly and explained why I should insulate the walls. This was not on my to do list. As soon as they were done, that night I noticed the furnace did not go on as often. It was comfortable in the house and the strong winds outside were muffled. I am so happy I used BestWay.! Other businesses did not mention sealing the attic and this also has helped tremendously. They also found and sealed the location squirrels accessed the attic. Had them out for an interview. It was very uncomfortable. I was asking a few questions but all I got was a speech about how spray foam that is sprayed too think will turn into cyanide and kill us all. The said this over, and over, and over, and over again. Meanwhile, I didn't get any satisfactory answers to simple questions. I won't move forward so I can't speak to the quality of their work, but the estimate process didn't give me much confidence. read more

We selected them based on our neighbor's recommendation. The guy that came out to do the quote was great. He was able to answer all our questions. They set us up with an energy audit to qualify for the Xcel rebates. The installers were awesome. Even with 6 inches of snow they were able to get our roof and walls insulated in a single day. Bestway was the third of three bids that we solicited for our 1963 home, and it was LESS THAN HALF of the other two. Wondering what the catch was, we checked references. They were glowing, so we leapt. They began with a second home energy audit, so they could see what was going on. This audit was infinitely more detailed than the one we'd performed five years ago, and told them exactly where our home needed work. The day that our walls were re-insulated, the crew arrived right on time. To a person, they were both professional and personable. They worked hard and nonstop for two days, and did a thorough job cleaning up. When we discovered that an electrical wire had been accidentally knocked loose during the procedure, they returned immediately to make the repair. We are heading into a second round of work, where they are enhancing the insulation in our attic. Debbie bird-dogged rebates, and advised us to move forward on the portion of the project that would be most cost-effective at this time. Bestway delivers exceptional quality for an exceptional price ... even under incredibly tight deadlines. I can't imagine an easier or better organization to work with. I was referred to Bestway from New Windows For America and wow am I blown away! Dave was our insulation technician and did an amazing job for us. We have a large attic and wall space and he even came with extra material to make sure that the new insulation would make a difference. He was super professional, delightful to talk with, and most importantly knowledgeable about what are needs were. He went above and beyond and even discovered that our son's room did not have ANY insulation in the wall space which was causing my son to be too warm or too cold depending on the season. I used Bestway to make right a wrong that happened when my home was newly constructed. My neighbor used Bestway two years prior for the same issue - to insulate the floor between the upstairs master bedroom and the garage below. He loved the work and the results, so I followed suit in May of 2018. I was able to contact a knowledgeable human being on the phone on my first try. I received a quote that was in the ballpark of what I was expecting. The crew came out a couple of days later. They were friendly. Crew leader Dave obviously knew what he was doing. They prepped my garage area and took the time to clean up afterwards, showing a lot of respect for not only my home, but the neighborhood. The job used more insulation than what was projected, and Bestway would have been justified in bumping the final price up slightly, but they stuck with their original estimate. The crew left the work area very clean. After about a week, I can say that the insulation is definitely doing its job with temperature control and some noise dampening. The only confusion was the start time of the job, which was supposed to be 8a but became 7:15a when Dave called me and told me he was on site. I would have preferred the 8a start time because of work schedule arrangements I had made - go figure that a contractor showing up EARLY would create some minor disruption - but that I suppose is like "rich people problems." Better than the alternative, which is most contractors show up an hour LATER than their scheduled arrival window. In conclusion, a very good overall experience from start to finish. read more

Normally I would have left 4 stars because it took a few calls to get someone to call me back to get a quote, but once I finally got them out here, the results and workmanship were amazing!...very much worth 5 stars. Ron, Roger and Roger were thorough, respectful, and conscientious about sealing everything. They took 2 FULL days and did a fantastic job. I had gotten 3 quotes. These guys were in the middle, but seemed to be most capable and willing to work with the very important Xcel rebates (which made all the difference between us being able to do it or not) Ron took his time and explained everything they were doing and why. He was excited to do the Blower Door test at the end and show us the huge change in results. (our house used to leak like a sieve) I was very impressed with instant results with the sound-proofing alone. I'm finally not scared to try and heat my house this winter. read more

We found there were many leaks in the house (especially attics and kneewalls). We moved forward with having the insulation done prior to the end of March so we could take advantage of added Xcel energy rebates. Long story on this one. We needed insulation installed in our attic. Called up Bestway for a quote and they came out and did the quote. Mike the estimator was very good and knew what he was doing. After that it kind of falls apart. It took weeks to get the estimate. I would call and a man would answer the phone, I asked if I could get my quote and he said he didn't know how to work the program but could get someone who could. I finally got the quote, made a few changes and then sent it back in. It took a few weeks and a few phone calls talking with the same man who didn't know how to go about getting the quote on the computer and I finally got the quote. Thanks Brandi (one of the two competent people at the company I worked with) on getting us the quote and setting us up for the appointment. Every question I had Brandi was able to answer the question quickly. The night before our 9AM appointment I got a few calls from a lady named Debbie. She sounded like she had no idea about anything they do. After listening to the 4 minute long voice mail about all the changes they had to make to our quote for us to be eligible for the rebate and stumbling through the tasks (with multiple sayings of "I'm not sure what that is but the workers know) she said our total would have jumped up over $500 dollars. The next call I get is from Mike the estimator. He called to clear things up and to make sure we still wanted them to come out. None of this was Mikes fault but he apologized about everything. We cancelled our appointment and will never be calling this company again for service. The lack of knowledge from everyone I talked to excluding Brandi and Mike was astonishing. The fact that Debbie called the night before the appointment to tell us that they had to change what they were doing for us to get the rebate was asinine. The thought that this company can operate with such little knowledge of customer service and basic skills is mind blowing. read more

My wife called to get a price to insulate our roof with fiberglass insulation. She spoke with a woman named Debby and was told how harmful fiberglass insulation was to our family. We just wanted a price not a 10 minute lecture. She basically told my wife she was stupid for wanting fiberglass. I am not sure how they get any business if this is the way they treat you. Good insulation the house is now warm. Past that steer clear! From what I can tell an extremely poorly run company. Got the job scheduled in January, flooded my linen closet with insulation and barely did any cleanup. The hole the insulation came through needed to be plugged and they did not have the materials on day one, OK, we scheduled to have them come back. I even confirmed that morning, no show, no call no one to reach. Finally got that mess taken care of after several calls to the office. That job completion took about 10 minutes once they finally showed. I have waited to post this review until now when I still have not gotten my rebate and was charged again for the same job 3 months later. I called to enquire about the rebate and all they can ask for is my Xcel account number, I said I don't have it on hand its in your files. Why don't you go find it and call me when you have it because they will ask for it. Of course they will but it is in your files and I don't have it handy. Why are you fighting me on this is what I was asked. I said I am the customer. To which the reply essentially was call with the account number or I can't help you. We had insulation blown in from the OUTSIDE of our house this past week. Good thing too as we live in Evergreen (7400') and this weekend the temps plummeted and our house was noticeably warmer...Debbie and James came out and did a thorough evaluation which included an energy audit and we discussed the whole process of them removing our wood siding and afterwards, replacing the boards. You can't even tell that was what was done! She was always available to answer any additional questions. The crew and especially Dave were top notch; showing up exactly (!) when they said they would, explaining and answering any questions. Our house was built it 1969 and it seems like they may have used dried leaves as insulation :) our north facing walls were always cold to the touch and my husband and i can't believe the difference!! Can't wait to see some reduced Xcel bills this winter. I can't say enough good things about this experience!!!! read more

I had asked to get a quote on insulating my basement and the very heavy lady that came over started arguing with me about cyanide gas and how we will only have 30 seconds to get out before we die if we use the extruded polystyrene or spray foam insulation. Can't recommend Bestway highly enough. Came out to bid on insulating my walls. Price was reasonable, work was done when they said they would come, and workmanship was great. I forgot to warn them about a bathroom niche that was built into my newly re-modeled bathroom that abutted the outside wall, and they drilled through a tile. Once we realized what had happened, the foreman came back later in the week & repaired it - can't tell that it ever happened. They also found trash/debris in 5 of the cavities and since I'm having the exterior siding of my house replaced this summer, they'll be coming out at no extra charge to fill those cavities once they're emptied and to top off some attic insulation (done by another company years ago). And I went into this purchase this spring thinking, "Oh, it won't make that much difference..." OMG. It has made an incredible difference. Here it is July with 90-100 degree days and I haven't even turned on my swamp cooler yet! I open all my windows at night, close them up in the morning & when I come home from work at 5pm, the house is still in the low 70s. Unbelievable. Can't wait to see how much more it will cut off my heating bill this winter. Highly, highly recommended. Oh & forgot to add that I got a $597 rebate on top of everything - and Bestway did all the paperwork for it. Yay!! read more

Hands down, the worst company we've worked with on our house. I could write a novel about everything that went wrong. I'll start with the fact that they had Xcel send them the rebate made out to them and then never thought to tell us or send us a check. It took six months of back and forth and it didn't end until we threatened litigation. The general thing to keep in mind is that they are not really a legitimate business in that they are not organized and professional. Here is a list of everything that went wrong. 1. They re-scheduled us without telling us and only kept the time when I threatened to cancel the job 2. They had agreed to complete the work to qualify us for the rebate but when they showed up, the installer wasn't prepared to do the work necessary for the rebate and wanted us to pay extra above the initial quote. 3. They quoted us one day and it took two to complete the work 4. On four different occasions, I was told they would call me back that day and they never did. 5. They were 1.5 hrs late the day of the appointment 6. They called me on three different occasions between 8 and 9:30pm on a Sunday 7. When trying to get our rebate, they claimed their phone and computer lines were down. When threatened with a lawyer, they suddenly had access within 20 minutes 8. There was never an apology for not sending us the rebate check 9. Their machine broke when they came to do the job (not entirely their fault, these things happen) 10. They popped an outlet in our house that required repair (again, not entirely their fault but it could have started a fire) 11. They were incredibly unprofessional over the phone which echoes other reviews on here 12. The person you needed to reach was never available. For example, you call to confirm the appointment time, the person with the schedule isn't there. You want to talk about payment, the finance person is unavailable. 13. They never submitted the paperwork for our rebate. We had to re-send them the paperwork since they lost it and then we still had the issue of them getting the rebate made out to them. Got a quote from Adam with Bestway Insullation and he was very professional and nice and knew what he was doing, he also was very honest! I needed my unfinished basement walls re-insulated with the vapor barrier and needed it done like asap because we has new tenants moving in that week...They squeezed me in because they were booked up which was so nice of them! This company is a rip off- hired them to insulate the outer walls of my townhome, messy, rude. Walls look like crap and I do mean crap. I had them cut an attic access and they never sealed it, the guy did not know how to get it to seal and just left it. I contacted the company several times and finally some woman was like well Chris died on his parent's driveway and I feel for his parents but what does that have to do with the job?
