We needed an insulation specialist, and FAST, after discovering signs of rodent activity in our attic and crawl space. We interviewed five different companies and Insulation Nation was heads above the rest. Josh and his team were at our house within 24 hours to remove all the old insulation (and I mean ALL). They coordinated with the pest control guys as we wanted to make sure all the rodents were gone, and then returned to blow in all new insulation and spray decontaminant. Good service. Josh, the owner, got back immediately. I was remodeling the laundry room in my basement and forgot all about insulation until a couple of days before the drywall company was arriving. Josh was able to fit us in and navigate the complexity of my 92 year old room that had been remodeled a few times previously, navigating drywall, 2" deep studs, 4" deep studs, a staircase and even an old coal chute! A couple of other vendors passed completely but Insulation Nation did it quickly and well and for less expense than I expected. Now the laundry room is probably the most comfortable room in the house! I just need to get up the budget to do the rest of the basement, but that's another project. Justin agreed to clean crawl space of all debris including rock and gravel, place vapor barrier, repair damaged insulation and close up crawl space to keep critters out. There was no repair and crawl space was left open letting in critters. Gravel and small rock were not raked and removed. Wiring was covered up blocking access to heat tapes and cables. The service provided to add insulation to my attic was outstanding! They took care to install protection on flooring and walls from the entry door to where the attic access is. They installed baffles where soffit vents were so the ventilation didn't get blocked When the insulation was blown in. Measurement tapes were installed to get even coverage over the entire attic area. After installing the insulation and the floor protection was removed they vacuumed the area completely. Josh came by promptly after my requesting a bid from his company. He was up in the attic for a bit and when he came down he gave me a report along with a few pics. We had recently installed a whole house fan in the attic and although it was doing its job of bringing in the cool nighttime air, it was also blowing an area of our attic clear of the blown fiberglass that's up there. Additionally, there was a large gap between the outside walls and the attic area where our AC air was escaping through. Josh gave me a fair and reasonable bid that included an air flow deflection device that his crew would construct to prevent the old and soon to be newly blown in fiberglass from getting blown away from the area behind the attic fan. The bid also included filling the outside wall gaps with a foam product--which Xcel has a rebate program for. His crew of Tri (Chee) and Brian set up the pressure test needed to get the Xcel rebate, filled the outside gaps, set up the air deflector--which works-- and blew in an additional 12 inches of insulation. Re-did pressure test and we had sufficient improvement to qualify for the rebate. All day job, well done. Josh filed the Xcel paperwork for me and has already deducted it from my invoice, so I don't need to wait for a check from Xcel. Only one day since job done, but house has stayed noticeably cooler for a longer period of the day and now the AC unit isn't constantly running. Should help a lot with our Xcel bill.
