I am generally very particular when I get my nails done, but let's face it, who isn't? Who really wants to go into a place and pay for a service and not get what they intended on getting? On top of that, who wants to be retaliated against or turned away when asking for correction of an error made by a professional nail tech on a proper shape or basic process that every nail tech is expected to just GET. As a consumer and a supporter of local businesses, I love when they just GET IT! Well today, that was not my experience when going to Nailtastic. Here's where things went left: I went in to Nailtastic and asked for a Full set, coffin shaped and white French tips. The first red flag was that my tech put my tips half way down my nail bed. You know that if you're getting a French manicure, you want your nail bed to look longer, NOT like little nubs and the white part looking all long. This is something I would expect a nail tech to know, especially an experienced one. So i mentioned it to her and then she proceeded to remove the tips and reapply them, but not before the other tech came over and explained to me that if my nails break, it'll be on me and they won't be fixing it. She then proceeded to talk in their language and told her I was picky. (She said that part in English) (They always have an excuse for why you're wrong and they are right) it's like they think it's your first time getting your nails done in life and you don't know the proper way. Anyways, She fixed the nails, and then proceeded to cut my length. All of my nails were long, and then she cut my thumbs shorter than all the nails , she then had to remove my thumb nails, and recut them to match the other nails. So I'm thinking we are good, then she proceeded to add the acrylic on my nails, it was so lumpy that my first nail had literally like an inch of acrylic just piled on top, but she assured me that in the filing process she would file it down, cool. So she continued. When it was time to file them down, she then shaved a piece of the white off my nail because she shaved it down too much, but she just kept going like nothing was wrong. I didn't say anything at this point because I was sure she was going to fix that somehow. It was too obvious. Next she started polishing my nails right after filing, didnt wipe them clear or anything; so under the clear polish it's like lumps and dust. I didn't notice it until she was done polishing them because i was getting gel polish. When she was done I told her that it wasn't right; i had black dots under my polish and noticeable dirt and lines on what was suppose to be a fresh French manicure. I told her out loud that someone needed to fix it. So Lynn comes over and tells me that the white polish is better than getting white tips and of course (i chose the wrong thing) always blaming the customer for a service that YOU OFFER being wrong. Now if it were better to get white polished French tips, why not tell me that as a recommendation in the beginning? Pure bs. Can you believe that this nail tech, packs up her things and walks over to start doing someone's pedicure after I asked for my nails to be fixed? They tried to act like I was the problem when clearly my nails were not up to par. I threatened to walk out if no one helped me and LYNN told me that they would have to remove my nails first, like what? Are you serious? I sat there for 2 hours and simply asked for my nails to be done correctly since i was the paying customer. Picky or not; horrible customer service. Long story short, she then came back and fixed them the best she could (still uneven and look a mess; polish is lumpy and it's only CLEAR with a little pink) here's where I just couldn't breathe. I was like whatever, I'm just gonna take my L and try to fix them later. I went to pay, and pulled out my card and she was like "oh our internet is down" the wifi isn't working so our card machine not working (mind you; she's lying because the last time i came in they were trying to take cash only) she asked me if I had zelle or Venmo? What kind of unprofessional stuff is that? Let's say I didn't have either? What would I have done? I was livid at this point, even if that were the case, tell me BEFORE i start my service to make sure I'm able to pay. Don't tell me at the end leaving me to figure out how I had to pay. It was a crazy experience. Then after I sent the zelle payment, showed her the confirmation, she says that she didn't get it when it was clearly her email and name. I cannot make this up. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE! I will never go back and would give 0 stars for today's experience if I could. read more
