Had booked an appointment for 4pm through their website which is nice on Dec 30th was seated right away and had one aesthetician doing my pedicure and the other my manicure. Felt like a queen it was really nice. No nicks or cuts which I usually have from other places. They were all speaking their language but that would be the only thing that could've been better otherwise the cost for both which comes to $40 with taxes is worth it. They also have a drying station that helps the nail polish dry faster and they were playing a movie for us to watch while we wait and the woman at the cash ran to me to wrap my feet in cling wrap before putting on my shoes to help prevent smudging even once dry. Booked last minute for a mani-pedi for myself and a mani and eyebrow waxing for my girlfriend. They were happy to take us in very quickly even though they seemed busy. We arrived to very attentive front counter staff and were swiftly ushered to our mani seats. The place was very clean and I watched as they cleaned after other customers which gave me a comfort of the seriousness they give to hygene. DO NOT GO!!!! Cheap and still not worth it. I had booked a brazilian with mani & pedi - when i walked in and seen the waxing room - i immediately walked back out. After having only had my brazilian waxes at the Ten Spot - i knew what a good clean service area should look like and what waxes should be used. So when the Nail Sense gal told me she only uses hot strip wax, and she didn't so much as offer to leave the room for me to change and get confortable - i just walked out to the nail area. AGAING - DON"T EVEN GO FOR THE MANI/ PADI - I've never had a pedi where they didn't shaved off of the dead heal skin, or a mani which has left my real nail crooked and only half polished. read more

Wow. I confirm all the good ratings. This place is by far the best for price and quality. $25 for pedicure, with soak, nail shaping, buffing, cuticle care, scrub, callus removal, hot towel, lotion, massage, polish application............. yup you heard it right. Can't really complain. Just don't expect all the other complimentary things like coffee/tea and whatnot. The place is clean for the most part... except when the pedicurist tried to help me take out the remote control for the massage chair, a nail from who knows whose foot came flying out of the side of the chair 0_o yikes. The chairs are all massage chairs which you can turn on so that's nice. But they aren't too comfortable and are rather weak in massaging my back so eh. Polish selection is decent.. mostly OPI and China Glaze. My feet turned out pampered and beautiful. I don't think it's ever looked so nice! But then when I went home, the polish on my large toe on both feet were moved. I guess because she put a protective undercoat, two layers of polish and a clear overcoat on it so it's pretty thick and she didn't allow each coat to dry properly before putting the next on. Pretty much the only reason why I didn't give this place a 5 star. I'm still a fan though. read more

My fave nail place! Been here twice for shellac manicure with nail art design and regular pedicure. Place is very clean with a wide selection of colors to choose from. The staff take their time with your nails. They have a large TV playing a teenybopper movie (on mute with subtitles). Free daytime weekday parking on the residential streets nearby. Not sure about weekends or evenings. My only beef is that the price is quite high and they don't have a combo discount for shellac mani/pedi. read more

Well this is my first review that I'm ever writing and so it must be that good!!! I'm not going to lie I'm a pretty high maintenance person and enjoy nice things and let me tell you that Nail Sense goes beyond my expectations. My first visit to Nail Sense was to get a brazilian with Thuy, and yes I'm not going to say it didn't hurt because it hurt like hell! But Thuy was so good with explaining everything and aftercare procedures it made it worth the pain, plus the price is one you can't beat. The second time around I went for a manicure but decided to get Shellac or Axxium (don't remember what she ended up using) for a french manicure. It was amazing it lasted for about 2 weeks and I could have gone another week with it on but decided it was time for a new color. I have gone back to Nail Sense 2 other times now for waxing with Kim (although Thuy was amazing I find Kim is a bit more gentle) I can't say enough things about Nail Sense, it is eerily clean (sparkling white floors) and although I read some reviews on the owner being a bit unfriendly I didn't find that at all, he is running a very busy place so maybe he seems stressed at times. Anyway I will never go anywhere other than Nail Sense it is amazing! I'm booking another appointment for a mani/pedi as we speak, hopefully they can fit me in on a busy friday! The only one thing I was a bit peeved about was reading some other reviews hearing some people got a discount when they mentioned Yelp at the salon. I had mentioned Yelp and didn't get a discount but it's ok I will still give Nail Sense 5 stars. read more

The Brazilian Wax at Nailsense is $35. When I lived in the area, Nailsense came recommended not only as a place that does Brazilian waxes well, but a place with good value. My first wax was here, and it wasn't all too scary. After moving away from the area, I have experienced other $35ish brazilian wax places, and I am sticking with Nailsense as being THE best under $40 brazilian wax that I have been to in Toronto, so far. The room: Harsh bright lighting doesn't usually scream comforting, however, it's the lighting that exposes everything to make sure that no hairs get missed. The good: Small sections are done at a time. Pressure is applied each time. As painful as any brazilian is - this technique helps. The attention to detail is ridiculous - if they can't wax it out, they take the time to tweeze the suckers out to minimize those pesky ingrowns. The online reservation is very easy. The bad: it's a popular spot, so it will be hard to find a timeslot to reserve on their online system, however, check back on the day of, and maybe someone cancelled their reservation, in which case, swoop in on that timeslot. Compared to the quality of some $50+ places, Nailsense definitely offers great value for great quality imo. read more

3.5 stars. Maybe I'm just looking for a place where I'm completely 100% relaxed, but I don't think I can be. I mean, somebody's handling my gross feet. The experiences seems inherently uncomfortable. I'm not sure I can ever feel "Yay! I'm a fan!" (as Yelp defines four stars) about any place. When I last talked about a dusty box of tools, I realized that maybe the tools were dusty with my own skin. Which is still a little weird, but nowhere near as weird as I had first suspected. Point to Nailsense. Last time I went, I gave a pretty good tip, partly due to actual intention, and partly due to befuddling mathematics ... and while I do not understand Vietnamese (or indeed, do not know for sure what Vietnamese sounds like), I'm relatively sure that the lady helping me with my payment announced it to the other girls, who made very positive, impressed sounds. I think. Which was ... OK? I don't know. It made me feel weird. I kind of prefer tips to be a thing between me and the person who had to handle my feet for thirty minutes. That all said, I've ended up coming back here because it does seem pretty clean, they're nice and efficient, and I still really like the online booking. I don't think they deserve two stars, so I'm adding this update. read more

I've been going to Nailsense for a few years and they're excellent. It's always clean, quiet, comfortable, and affordable. They do a great brazilian (just be sure to avoid getting it done during PMS, the hormones make the area more sensitive). I go regularly, once a month, and as long as I time it right it's painless. Both Thuy and Kim are great! My Pedicures often last a month or more, and my manicure lasts about a week, which is pretty good because I work with my hands a lot. They have WIFI and they're cool with me bringing my computer and doing some work during my pedi. I love being able to book my appointment online too! read more

I went to nail sense after reading the positive reviews here and I was not disappointed. I didn't have an appointment but they took me right away. Tu did my nails and was great, I told her I was growing my nails out so she took care not to file too much. She also did a great job with the French manicure despite my short nails. The salon was very clean and well maintained. For every nail appt they bring out instruments in a sealed bag and new files, which was a nice change from other salons I've been to. The prices were slightly higher than market but only by a dollar or two. I'll definitely be making this my regular place (and I don't live in the area - it's just that much better than everywhere else). read more

And the one continued my service and forgot to do a few things on my one hand as she assumed the other already did it, so I had to remind her. It just felt a bit strange to do that! I went to Nailsense for the first time this past weekend based on all the great reviews I read on Yelp. I emailed them for an appointment through their website however as no one got back to me, I called the next day. The gentleman who answered the phone was very apologetic and was going to see if they were having any problems with their site. I got the time I wanted for later on that afternoon and when I asked for a senior technician, he explained that none of the staff work on commission; rather they are all on salary so that the treatments are not rushed in the hopes of trying to attend to as many people as they can in a day. Nevertheless, he said that he would ensure that I got a good technician. Given how my day went, I got there 1/2 hour early and while I was hoping they could take me sooner, I was also willing to wait. However the women there gave me 3 options; either I wait till my appointed time to have both services (mani/pedi) done by the person selected for me (Kahn?), I could get my mani/pedi done immediately by 2 different people entirely or I could get my pedi done immediately by another person and my mani done by Kahn at the appointed time. As I wanted to see how I would like Kahn, I chose the latter of the 3 options and was not disappointed. She definitely took her time, was very gentle and meticulous. I like a shorter-mid length oval shaped nail and usually find that I come away with a rounded edged square but she did them perfectly so I was very happy. Unfortunately what compelled me to write was because of the woman who did my pedicure. I will preface this by saying that she was very sweet and you can tell that she wanted to make sure that I walked away satisfied by checking in with me a few times during the treatment. So to that end, I realize the effort she was trying to make. However - she was chewing a big wad of gum with her mouth open which made me cringe. In an environment that is otherwise extremely polished and professional, the gum chewing was a complete turnoff. The pedi was good but I'm not sure if I'd look for her again. Overall, I will agree with the majority of the reviews - the place is incredibly SPOTLESS (I thought they just opened up shop!) and peacefully quiet. The tools they used are all sterile - they opened up a new set of tools for my mani and another for my pedi. The array of colours to choose from is impressive and certainly true to their word, great time and care is taken so that you walk out with a fabulous set of nails. The service was extremely friendly, courteous and helpful so for these reasons, I will definitely recommend this place to friends and be back myself. read more

Just got a brazillian wax and I had the best experience I've EVER had! Nail Sense was clean (immaculate) and the staff was so welcoming, professional and did a fantastic job. Thuy is the person to definitely ask for. She makes you so comfortable the moment you step into the room. She explains everything before hand to ease your nerves. She's quick and makes the waxing as painless as possible. She also has a conversation with you during the waxing to get your mind off of the pain. Then, a great added touch is that she tells you tips on how to maintain your wax job so you don't get ingrown hairs or any irritation. I love the modern, clean decor of the place. I also love the great job they do with manicure and pedicures. I got one too and loved the results! I will certainly be back. So...if you want a clean, reliable, well priced, efficient waxing and nail salon... go to NAILSense. You will be so happy that you did! This is the worst nail salon I have ever been to. I read some reviews before coming and noticed many mentioned a rude man at the front desk but decided I valued quality and price above customer service, so I went anyway. I reserved an appointment for me and some friends a WEEK before, for mani pedis at 5-6. When I arrived at 5, we were told to "get Starbucks" by the man at the front desk. He didn't apologize, and just said they were running behind schedule and we would be called ten minutes before our appointment, even though we had reserved a WEEK before. He said it would be around 30 minutes, so we left. Around 45 min after leaving the salon, we called in to see how long it would be and were told it would be around 20 more minutes. Eventually we were called and went in for our appointment, but by the time it actually started, it was around 6:20. It was ONE HOUR AND TWENTY MINUTES LATE. When we arrived at the salon, the man at the front didn't apologize or say anything about the delay and just told us to pick our polishes. The quality of the nails was average, and definitely not worth the wait. After our appointment finished at EIGHT (2 HOURS LATE), the man gave me one polish, but refused to give one to either of my friends who had come with me, waited with me and paid separately. He just said "deal with it" and told us to share. How are 3 people supposed to share one polish? If he couldn't give all of us polish, he shouldn't have give any of us any polish. Overall, PLEASE DON'T COME HERE. The man was so disrespectful to me and my friends, and acted like he didn't care about our satisfaction at all. He barely apologized for our hour and 20 min wait, and acted like we were below him. A decent mani-pedi DOES NOT make up for my 2 hours wasted. read more

They need to be transparent about their pricing. Their online booking tool quotes a price of $45 for mani-pedi and says you get a 20% discount if you pay cash. When I go to pay with cash the total is $50.85 with tax. Why? It turns out the real price is $54! That number DOES NOT appear anywhere on their website or booking tool. The upshot is you get a 20% discount on $54 if you pay cash, not on $45. Sort of a bait and switch. Anyway, I used to go here when the price was $35 and they jacked it up by $10 (due to minimum wage law,which was ultimately scrapped by the government). The service was ok but not worth $54 + tax. You should list the actual prices on your website. The woman who paid before also seemed confused about this! read more

This is definitely the best "no frills" place for a pedicure. Plus, it's right around the corner from my apartment! I'm always happy to book my appointments on-line, but I ended up calling in since I wanted to book two appointments together. The person getting a pedicure with me was my boyfriend, who was pretty uncomfortable with the idea. When we walked in, there was no attitude about how he was the only guy in there, and they went straight to work us with no comment about it whatsoever. The atmosphere was clinical, and the tools and service were clean and sterile. This is not a "girly" salon, and I think that helped put him at ease. They were quick, professional and did a good job on our calluses and cuticles. I only wish they spent more time buffing the tops of my nails (mine have ridges). read more

I have been to many nail salons in the GTA, but have never had an experience as horrible as the day I attempted to get my acrylic nails removed NAILSENSE last July. I had called in ahead of time asking if I could drop in to have them removed and they assured me it could be done. I had to pay for parking and they made me wait only to tell me they could not do it, despite what I was told over the phone. I felt judged by the workers here eyeing me up and down and they made quite a scene out of this apparent "miscommunication", embarrassing me in front of all the other customers and sending me away without an apology. All in all, would not recommend this salon due to their appalling customer service. read more

Simple to do and gets rid of the "gamble" in getting your nails done of whether there will be an available attendant when you show up. My manicurist was Khanh I believe (hard to remember at this point) and she did a lovely job. I've actually never had such attention to detail in a manicure, she was very meticulous that everything be perfect. I've been here 3 times and have always been pleased. Cleanliness is super important to me, especially when getting my nails done, and this place is spotless. The prices are reasonable at $35 for a mani/pedi and shellac mani for $35. The staff is great at what they do, but they aren't talkative or very friendly. The atmosphere is a bit strange as all the staff is extremely quiet and doesn't make conversation with the clients (which some people prefer). It's just a bit of an odd feeling to sit in there for an hour in almost complete silence. That being said, that won't stop me from going back! I don't normally review, but in this case I felt the need to explain how fantastic Nail Sense's customer service is... This past Saturday, I had a manicure (fantastically-priced mani at that!) and the lady had to switch half way through - right after the first coat of polish. Someone immediately took her place, and continued right away onto the 2nd and 3rd coat and top coat. After that I dried my nails and was on my way. I never usually check my manis from Nail Sense because they are seriously always on top of it; however, this time since the switch mid-mani, i guess their different painting styles, or surface area they covered was different, and it was VERY noticeable in the morning. It would have been fine with a lighter colour, but with bright red and with Holiday parties this week I needed them looked at. I gave them a call Sunday early afternoon to see if anyone could touch up a few nails this week, and the man at the front desk (I'm guessing manager? or owner?) immediately insisted I come in that day for them to fix it so I was happy. He was very understanding about the issue, and was insistent on squeezing me in that same afternoon even though they were fully booked. When I arrived, a lady immediately re-painted everything and was very attentive. The man at the front desk then insisted it be complimentary and was simply concerned about my happiness as a customer. I'm by no means a regular to this spa, and have only gotten maybe a dozen mani/pedis there in the past, but they definitely treated me as royalty. Due to their extremely competitive prices, and fantastic customer service, this is hands down the best place for a mani/pedi. If I could give less than one star I would. My experience with this salon has been anxiety inducing and frustrating to say the least. 3 weeks ago I called to book an appointment for my birthday, for myself and 6 friends. I knew it may be hard to book that big of a group which is why I called weeks and weeks ago. I was assured that it would be no problem to book me in, but that a manager would have to confirm and that they would call me to do that the same day. 2 days go by and no call! So I called to confirm, was told that my appointment had been scheduled and sorry for the wait but someone will call me and confirm that day. Guess what? No call. This process goes back and forth for the next 2.5 weeks! I keep calling, they keep saying sorry, will confirm and never do. So today, finally fed up I called, and was told they are "100% booked for tomorrow and my appointment is not in the system". The day before my appointment they tell me this! 100% unprofessional, the WORST service I have ever had. If I am coming to you and bringing you 6 people's business with me, why should I have to chase you around for an appointment. If you can't fit us in then SAY SO the first day I call. I've been attending this salon for two years and absolutely loved it. In JULY I booked in for 6 shellac manis and 7 pedicures for late November, knowing it was a busy time. The appointment was for the evening before my wedding - a way to get my bridesmaids pretty and relaxed - where we could have fun together. On the way there, we got stuck on the subway due to a delay. We were on the Yonge line above ground, so I decided to be a good customer and call ahead indicating we'd be about 15 minutes late. I was told that they only accept their appointments on time, and due to the delay, it was "too bad" they could no longer see us. No longer see us. 7 of us. A bride, her bridesmaids, mother and mother-in-law, the day before our wedding. A customer of 2 years. Because of 15 minutes, probably less. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? All ended well - I located another salon that immediately took us and treated us like royalty, only cost me $450 EXTRA on top of what I'd budgeted because of the change. Great place! Amanda did a great job waxing my eyebrows!! she was not wax happy so i actually had well groomed eyebrows when I was done! (I had my eyebrows waxed elsewhere and they ended up being almost non-existant ... yes! try explaining that to all your university friends! hardly a desirable outcome) Amanda was great! Trizzie did my nails, I got a Shellac French Manicure. ... its been 5 days and they are still in mint condition. They lasted two weeks actually and could have gone longer except my nails grew out fast so it looked a bit odd. Clean! Clean! Clean! CLEANLINESS I have always been weary of getting a manicure/pedicure especially the idea of cutting my cuticles with utensils that have been used by the person before me. But as soon as I walked into Nailsense, it was unbelievably clean and spotless. They clean each utensil with this machine called the autoclave and the my manicurist (KIM) opened a newly cleaned pack of utensils right in front of me. Tien the owner taught me about his pedicure spas. He said that each spa has it's own individual pipes in order to ensure zero cross contamination between spas. This is not a requirement in Canada but Tien took the extra step and invested in this additional safety precaution. INGENUITY Tien also told me he designed his own manicure/pedicure fan. He had it custom built to suit the needs of the client and it is facing to the window so you can watch what's happening outside. He also designed the manicure table keeping in mind the most efficient way to clean it. MANICURE my manicurist (KIM) was super great. She asked me whether I wanted my cuticles cut, creamed up my hands/ arms, gave me a nice firm hand/arm massage, put on my selected OPI nailpolish and ta da, done! My hand and nails were beautiful once it was all done. ATTENTIVE/THOUGHTFUL My sister had a pedicure and she wore these shoes that would have likely damaged her polish. Her pedicurist brought her shoes to her, wrapped her feet in saran wrap and we were just on our way to go. But Tien stopped us and said, I think wearing this would be better and gave us some flip flops. If you are a person who likes clean facilities, attentive staff, professional work, Nailsense is right for you. Next time I have to try the mani+pedi+wax! read more

I have to admit that previous to my first time at Nailsense I frequented the competitor north of Lawrence. After getting a mani and pedi at Nailsense, I am not sure what the fuss is with the competitor north of Lawrence - Nailsense is a much better place to go. It is clean, and it seems you can get in there for an appointment with relatively short notice (I do not usually plan ahead for these things). The staff are patient and did not get annoyed when I had to redo my painted nails 4 times! I am a fan and will definitely go back. I haven't tried the waxing here at Nailsense, but will return with another review when I do. read more
