After going here every 3 weeks for the past two years, I guess it's finally time to share how much I love this place. No, it is not a fancy upscale salon, but if you are looking for a long-lasting gel manicure, I haven't been anywhere cheaper or better. Nancy is great, my nails always look perfect when I leave and the gel lasts me 3 weeks until they are grown out, never chips. She is so friendly and patient when I can't decide on a color, she even remembers what I've gotten before and recommends new OPI colors she thinks I would like! I will say that while I do understand some of the negative reviews on here, it is about setting expectations. This is a no-frills, inexpensive, in-and-out nail salon. And yes, it smells like a nail salon! If you are looking for a day at the spa getting mani/pedis with your girlfriends, I would probably recommend elsewhere. But, as I said, I come here every 3 weeks and am never disappointed. You can't beat a $25 gel manicure done in 25 minutes. I typically go to Nail Candy on the Southside, but they are not dependable. Meaning you never know if anyone will be there .....they close early and don't pick up their phone. So I was determined to get my nails done that day, I came across Nails USA. I'm not from around here so I never heard of them and was kinda nervous when I read some of the reviews. I went inside they took me immediately when I walked in... This really nice lady named Nancy did my gel nails and they turned out amazing!! I have to say way better than Nail Candy!!! It's so random that I found this place but I'm going to come here from now on :) I had a great experience! They are terrible , rude and liars, they talked me into this " gel acrylic" which I later learned does not exist and is a way for them to over charge for acrylic. It smells like chemicals and it's so very dirty. This is one of the places that I hesitate to review because it's so awesome that I don't want to share my secret place. Alas, it's only fair to those who have been so good to me that this nail junkie share. I use Nails USA as my #1 nail place and Henry is MY BEST manicurist. Now, I ONLY share this because I moved and haven't been getting my nails done as regularly. And really have been punishing myself with the terrible choices I've been making for my hands. By not making the time to see Henry, (Or his wife, or her sister, or Nancy, ok- well his whole family is excellent) I had to try a different place open on Sunday's. Bad idea. The quality doesn't come close to Nails USA. Nails USA has manicurists who listen carefully and build relationships with their clients. You see it when you are there. After going elsewhere and seeing how bad my nails looked, I saw just how much I take for granted how awesome Nails USA is. Henry's work is the best of the best. He is quiet but he listens. Nails are even. No lifting. Thin but they don't break or look like think fake cheap clunky acrylic nails. I receive SO MANY compliments from his work. His work is smooth, sophisticated. And When I leave, the nails look fresh longer than anywhere else I go. They are filed perfectly in the shape I request. All are the same length on each hand, each finger. Paint in on point. Shape is exactly how I request. ***Oh and in response to the ignorant 1 star comments about the staff speaking and being Chinese, umm, well they are not. Beside any person with half a brain knowing the difference between Vietnamese & Chinese being different cultures, and that the USA nail industry doesn't have many people of Chinese descent working in it, the comments are unnecessary, ignorant, & hateful. So my boss (who is a man) told me this place was the best of the best! haha. He also told me that some of the steelers get their nails done here(no comment). I was a bit confused because it looks like your typical strip mall dive nail salon (80's airbrush decal on the window, strangely placed mirrors, two fish tanks, really awful "modern art"). I had some time to kill on a saturday so I decided to check it out with a mani/pedi. I was surprised that in a place like this it was $41 normally its around $25-30 in dive salons. The place was busy which was a good sign but I was able to get right into the pedi chair. I received my nail service from Julie. She literally ripped the prior acrylic nail off my nails and then said that the reason why my nails were now damaged was because of the other, prior tech. Lady, they are now soft b/c you ripped the nail off with the acrylic. She did a nice job as in the final product but she damaged my nail underneath significantly, blamed the prior tech and when I asked if her salon offered nail acrylic without MMA. She acted like she did not know what I was talking about. Again, the games! I am going back to KimLee in the North Hills, at least Linda offered MMA free acrylic, was able to explain the benefits, even though english was not her first language (as with Julie), and she did a very nice job for the same price. read more

Showed up at 2 on a Wedn and wow was it crowded. I did not have an appointment so I had to wait about 20 minutes. The staff did work fast and had a pretty good turnover of clients. I had a gel manicure. The color looked great when it was done. She cut and filed my nails well. My only complaint was that she didnt do a cuticle trim. My cuticles looked a mess afterwards, which takes away from the polish. Overall, very nice staff and a big clean facility. read more

HORRIBLE!! I don't usually post reviews but this place was especially bad. I just went in for a full set of acrylics and came out with my nails sore and looking awful. I could paint my nails better than the older gentleman with the ponytail did. Unfortunately I had them use gel polish so I can't remove it easily otherwise I would! This is a mixed review kind of place. People either hate it or love it. I like it a lot, my girl Nancy, who does gel nails for me is a STAR in my eyes. Once you start coming in more regularly, she's so accommodating to your schedule. There have been times that I've call her at 6:50pm(they close at 7pm) and she's been willing to stay for me. She always tries to get to know her clients. I started to ask more often for a certain kind of polish, which when I first started coming they only carried in like 5 colors, since then she's ordered more colors each time I ask. A friend of mine just started going there and she loves it too. She now gets dip nail. The only service I get it gel and pedicures. Nail consistently, sometimes the gel last 3 weeks, sometimes they work a week and a half. I couldn't tell you why though? The time I had a nail chip really early, I came back in a they redid that nail for free. Their atmosphere: meh. They just got new pedicure chairs though so that's a plus! Things that I'd like to see: a freshly cleaned pair of tools used between clients. If you're looking to see someone open a plastic package of newly cleaned tools...uhhhh? That's on the to-do list I suppose. But I've been seeing them for 3 years, never considered another salon or even googled one. I'm happy where I'm at with them, hopefully you'll be too! read more

So I needed to get my toes done last minute. Originally I was going to wear tennis shoes but then decided on open toe. So I alas I found myself at Nails USA since its a few blocks from my house. I noticed when I walked in that the lady didnt open new utensils. They were laying on the tray. So, I didnt really think much of it at the time. I thought that maybe she was waiting so she had just opened the pack and had them waiting there. :( A few weeks later I was at Kennywood and well my BIG TOE FELL OFF. Ya you got that right! Here I caught some fungus from this place!!!! It ate away at my big toe!!! About a week later ...my other big toe came off!!!!! Now my toes are lookin so funky and I am afraid to go to anyplace :( This place is NASTY! Plus I don't like places that talk chinese the whole time you are getting your nails done. read more

I absolutely love this place! I've gotten everything from acrylic to gel to regular polish. When I got a regular polish mani with Henry, my nails didn't chip for at least a week and a half. Usually regular polish chips within a couple days! It is true that some Steelers go here. One time I sat right next to one in a pedicure chair. I also recommend Nancy because she is very personable and so sweet. She even has a great memory! I moved to NYC for a year and came back to Nails USA for the first time since I moved back to Pittsburgh and she remembered me...and my mom! They're a little more pricey than most places, but it's worth it. You'll have long lasting nails and a great experience if you go to Nails USA!! read more

This place is probably the worst nail salon I've been to. The owner was yelling at a customer because she moved accidentally and was arguing back and forth with her until the lady walked out. Just extremely unprofessional. And the man, That used to have the ponytail but cut it off did my nails, and did a horrible job. First he didn't do what I wanted and was rude. He sliced My pink y finger and didn't even ask if I was ok or if I needed a bandage, so I retrieved one from another worker. Never again! The chemical smell in there is so strong my mother had to leave. It was really bad . I got a gel manicure , the tools looked dirty and weren't cleaned they were just on a tray. My gel polish lasted one day ONE before it chipped. My niece got a full set of acrylics and one of the nails popped off the very next day! My first time coming to this salon and I absolutely love it! Clean atmosphere and the employees are all very friendly. I called to see if they took walk-ins and didn't get an answer, so I went in person to see (5p Saturday evening). The salon is set up with covid protection, and I was greeted at the door/front counter. No wait and the friendly technician promptly started with me. (Recent heavy snow might attribute to not having to wait/just a few clients). Ms Nancy did a good job with my mani/pedi, and just the right amount of conversation, LOL. Then came the surprise- $68 for gel mani and regular pedi! True, I didn't ask when I first came in, holiday treat to myself. Plus,I got estimates from 2 other places so when I heard the price, I thought to myself, "well, that's what you get for not asking". There is a sign that mentions having to increase costs of services due to pandemic, but a $20-$25 increase? (AND I still tipped) I'm comparing this price to the other salons I checked. One of the worst experiences I have ever had at a nail salon. The chairs were all full when my friend and I got there, but at least 4 customers were finished within 10 minutes. All of the nail technicians who were helping them disappeared to the back room, and we proceeded to wait and wait and wait until someone finally helped us. With 15 minute breaks in between every step of the manicure, the lady doing my friends nails eventually started my gel manicure. After the first coat of base polish went on there was clearly something that went wrong and they needed to start over. So after an hour and 15 minutes of aggravation I finally threw in the towel, they removed the base coat, and I left. Talk about a WASTE of time. I have been there several times before and was never overly impressed with the quality or service, but this takes the cake. read more

I am rating this business a 0! They are very unprofessional, rude, & just about money. For one, I brought my daughter to this establishment for us to get our nails and toes done literally 10 minutes ago. I have only went to this establishment once before prior to moving back to Pittsburgh. Last time U came, I had to fill out a Covid consent form (like many other Salk s). At that time I only gave my name, signature, & my number to contact me. I did not fill out my address etc because that is an invasion of my personal privacy. They leave the forms hanging out and anyone can literally find you. I had no issues that first time but this time, I chose to do the same thing & the man in the shop had a fit. He snatched my polishes out of my hand etc and said he could t service me if I did t put an address down. There is no reason for an address. IF anything happens, the best way to go about that is CONTACT the person, not show up to their door step especially in times like this. This establishment is rude as hell and a disgrace to even being in the community with their half ass work and poor customer service. My girlfriends and I decided it was time for a pedicure! My friend called ahead and made four appointments for all of us. When we got there, only three chairs were ready, and we had to wait about a half hour before anyone was available to start on us. They seemed to be short staffed, and trying to manage more people than they could handle. We weren't terribly bothered by it, as we weren't on a strict schedule. They had one guy that started on my friend, and we all had to wait for her to be done before he started on anyone else. No one else was available to do it. Each pedicure took about 25 minutes, maybe less. It wasn't the best pedicure I'd ever had, and it seemed like he skipped a ton of steps. In the end it was ok, but nothing to write home about. It was only $25, which is $10 less than how much I pay in the suburbs - so only for that reason does it get 3 stars. If I needed a quick pedicure, at a cheaper price, I'd go back here if I had a ton of time to waste. We'll see how long it lasts before it starts chipping. read more

Went in for a pedi on my lunch break at 1pm and was taken right away, which was my main concern since I was on the clock. They had a pretty decent color selection and the guy who did my pedi did a great job with the prep, but only an OK job on the actual polish application. I decided to try this place again after not coming here in a year or so because I have always been a regular customer. After going there a couple of weeks ago I will never return there again. I had made an appointment for a fill-in for a friend and I. We were taken right away by a woman named Nancy to get our nails done who is infact the manager of the nail salon. She proceeded to do our nails by smoothing out the acrylic and buffing our nails. However, she did not remove the polish on the nails before filing them down and filed them down to my real nail which then damaged my nail bed. At that time when my friend and I had got our nails done, we noticed they were very thin compared to when we usually got our nails done, but thought nothing of it and just assumed that was just how she did nails now. A week later two of my nails came off and completely ripped part of my real nail off. Along with my nail coming off, my nails became chipped after 2 days and the polish started to come off. This should have not happened after a weeks time. Also, the acrylic moved up after a two days time and this also should have not happened. I called her on the phone and explained to her the situation and she said that my friend and I waited to long to get our nails done again and that we should have came back after two weeks instead of three weeks. Also, she said that our nails were very weak and that she had to fix two of our nails when we came to see her. My nails were never weak before coming to this nail salon and she also did not fix any of my nails while I was in the salon, so that was also a lie. So after this happened, I had to take the rest of nails off because half of them were already chipped and ripped off. I am very angry that I wasted 30 dollars to get my nails done for a fill-in and they were already messed up after 2 days. I also had requested to have gel acrylic on my nails and she gave me the basic acrylic. After this poor experience I will never return back to this location, because I am a regular customer who comes and tips accordingly and I feel she did not handle the situation like she should have. read more
