This place was busy!! Luckily they were able to take me as a walk in for a pedicure in a Saturday. The salon is fairly specialist and clean. The girl that did my pedi did an amazing job. She cut my cuticles and cleaned them up and was sure to check if she was going too deep with the cuticle cutter. The paint job was smooth and I was able to sit and enjoy the massage chair while my toes dried. So sad dip day 10. Unfortunately, the salon does not know how to do authentic dip. I have never had a problem like this before with dip; the nail bed is brittle & polish is weak. Dip should last at least 3-4 weeks. This salon's dip is more consistent of gel in that it strips the nails bed and does not last and chips/peels by day 9-10. Unfortunately, the salon does not know how to do authentic dip. I have been going to dip masters for years and never had a weak nail bed from dip nor a chip after 4 weeks. The quality of the work and the concern for fungal contamination rates this place at 1 star, which is heartbreaking since I never give 1 stars :( read more

Let me preface this review by saying that I get gel manicures a lot. My average gel lasts 3-4 weeks under normal wear. Everyone was very friendly which was a positive. They had good hygiene practices especially with COVID. I had an appointment for a Saturday, and I opted for a matte finish gel with gold foiling on my ring finger. The same night, the top layer on BOTH ring fingers started peeling badly. I made an appointment for that Tuesday to have them fixed. Drove all the way back to shadyside, paid for parking, and tipped again - all for them to peel AGAIN on Thursday. I am also frustrated because I asked if they would hold up better just doing a glitter polish instead of the foiling again, but was assured I wouldn't have the same problem again. It hasn't even been a week and I already feel that I wasted my money. I have never had a gel manicure hold up so terribly. Very disappointed and will not be back. If you want a long lasting manicure, I suggest looking elsewhere. read more

Unfortunately, a different manicurist painted them that was not familiar with acrylic nails resulting in the sides of my nails not being painted and premature lifting of the color. For a medium length full set with gel, I paid $85 before tip. I would say this is a fair price given the skill of the first manicurist; however, I could have received a better painting of the nail elsewhere for a significantly cheaper price. read more

I like that you can venmo the techs their tip. The space is pretty and they offer you a drink. The manicure and pedicure I received was ok . They did the basic job but nothing to wonderful. I did feel like the pedicure I received was rushed and they hardly exfoliated and pumice my heels but they painted them nicely. Same goes for my manicure they painted them nicely but thats about it. its been less than a week and now my nails are chipping. My biggest annoyance was the male staff. The three times I have been here they are all carrying on loud and obnoxious. Talking about very personal details, swearing and just not professional at the slightest. From what I overheard they are all relatives of the owner. Im not saying they have to be quiet and not converse but I have no interest in hearing about a crazy ex girlfriend and what club they went to the night before. Fine experience getting a pedi here. I was promptly attended to when I walked in and was asked to wash my hands before getting seated. I waited for a few minutes on the technician for my pedicure. He seemed very nice and made me comfortable. The session lasted for about 50 minutes and all for $35. I handed my tip directly to him when I was done. When I called they didn't pick up either time, and left me messages in return that did not include any prices. Three weeks after my dip manicure (which looked good) I made an appointment to get it taken off (and not replaced) which took 10 minutes, and they charged me $20 and my nails are weak and stripped from the manicure. He also seems very genuine and not the type of person who would say rude things after I left. Because of that, I decided I will definitely come back in a month. Details on the pedicure: Excellent callus removal, he used a scrub past my ankles up to my shin & then used lotion. He applied the colors perfectly. Details on the manicure: I've been to many places in Pittsburgh, and this is definitely the best gel manicure I have gotten. The shape of the nails is perfect and the color is applied very well. It also lasts the 2 weeks. However, if the gel does chip within 2 weeks you're guaranteed to get it fixed for free. This is an excellent policy. I'd advise if you do not like something the way it is being done, just voice your opinion. Or if it your first time going to brush nail salon, make an appointment with Jimmy that way if something happens you don't particularly like, if you tell him, he will respect your opinion and do it exactly the way you like! When I arrived it was a little chaotic but I was told I was ready to go sit in the chair for my pedicure. I waited with my feet in the water for about 45-50 minutes before I couldn't take it any more and took them out. During the 45-50 minutes no one checked in to see how I was doing or to inform me of the time delay. Eventually someone came over and told me that they were running behind due to a wedding party being 2 hours late. In my opinion if a client(s) is(are) 2 hours late, I don't believe they should still get priority when they finally show up. The staff who did my nails after were very apologetic but by that point I was not enjoying my time. As someone who rarely gets their nails done, I will not be returning due to the poor service.
