I come here with my friend whenever I am in town. The smell of nail polish is a little overwhelming when you walk in but you get used to it. They could probably do with some better ventilation. The interior is very nice though and everything seems new and clean. They have one TV which they play movies with very low sound. They don't play chick flicks like most salons- it was Guardians of the Galaxy vol.2 this time and the Revenant last time we came, which seemed like an odd choice... We always get a mani/pedi, which used to cost $35 but is now $40. Lots of nail polish choices. I always go with OPI. All the technicians are good but some take more time and care than others. My friend and I went at the same time but I was finished half an hour before she was. My nails always seem to chip by the next day though which is a little disappointing for a $50 job. Cash tips only! Make a reservation if you can because they get busy, especially on the weekends. It seemed worth it for $35 but now that they've upped their prices we might try a different salon. read more

I went one time and someone else did my nails because Mimi was busy and I needed my nails done for an event and they were horrible. I've been curious about this place for awhile now and finally checked them out to get my nails done for my birthday. I walked in at 3:30p on a Friday and they were packed! The owner kindly asked if I could come by a little later and set me up with an appointment. When I got there for my appt, my nail technician (I wish I had asked her name!) greeted me at the door. I showed her what I wanted my nails to look like based off of a Pinterest pin, and she helped me find super similar colors. This is by far the best set of nails I've had put on. She was fast but also VERY attentive to every detail of my nail. She slowed down the file near my cuticles and was super gentle to be sure to not cut my skin (like I've had some a million times over!). I was highly impressed with her focus on the shape as well. I've had nail techs in years past not care and end up with either super thick nails or bumpy nails! She used the photo provided and gave me the look I wanted, perfectly! Awesome and affordable ! I got a mani pedi and they did a wonderful job always asking how it was and if I liked it . Overall the service took an hour that is precision I love how skilled they are ! Tina Nails my not be the newest nail salon, nor is it the prettiest or most professional but I have finally found a place that I am pleased with. I found out on my last visit that the location has been there for over 17 years , under 3 different owner naturally but it's still standing. I have traveled to just about every neighborhood in the city including some outer laying boroughs and as it turns out the one I like the most is right in my own shopping center. I never went in before because it admittedly shabby and there is only one person who does nails here. Shame on me for judging a book by its cover. I think the manicurist is gracious and personable and she does not rush through the work she takes suggestions and adjusts your nails to get them just how you want them . Do not be deterred from stopping in because of the dingy exterior or the fact that it's located next to a Dominos. Completely butchered my eye brows trying to find a new place to go regularly my tech at different location is getting ready to retire. I know this will not be the place I come to ever again. I'm honestly not sure why this place is getting such amazing reviews. I got my nails done recently and I had a very different experience. The pedicure chair had no lining in the pedicure bowl and as I watched, not one bowl was cleaned between customers. Pedicure tools were taken out of a drawer and thrown back without any sterilization. The pumice stone was used on me, rinsed off in my dirty foot water, and thrown in the drawer wet. My toenails were all cut down to the quick and rounded- hopefully I don't get an infection or ingrown. After my pedicure I didn't want to get a manicure but my nails were so grown out and I didn't have time to go anywhere else. My nail tech didn't ask me about shape or how long to make my nails, he just started. Half way through he nipped my cuticle and then scoffed when I said it hurt and bled. By the end I was so over it but here's the kicker- in total it was $80 for gel mani and pedi. Way more than anywhere else. I will never come back. Very surprised they haven't been shut down yet for cleanliness. read more

Today I went into the salon to get a simple fill and a pedicure, and it was by far the worst experience ever! First, the kid doing my pedi burned me not once but twice with the water during my pedicure. This water was so hot that my feet were red and sore and in fact, 4 hours later are still slightly sensitive. He then proceeded to do a horrible job on my pedicure barely touching my heels with the scrub sponge, they are still rough and feel terrible. In fact, he seems terrified of what he's doing and barely touches you at all!! Next, a quarter way through my fill, I was asked to move over to the lady next to him because someone came in and requested him. Ummmm, excuse me...I had an appointment too, I wasn't a walk in! This lady SHOULD have been told to wait her turn! I have never been made to feel so insignificant and unimportant in my life. I won't be going back to this place ever again! In fact, due to the fact that this placed burned and injured me, I think a full refund for my service is in order! read more

I will never get my nails done there again. I got a regular manicure and it didn't even last a week. To be exact it lasted 4 to 5 days. I have went to other salons and they have lasted a lot longer. Hell even doing my own nails have lasted longer. I went to the salon hoping they could help me. I tried to explain it didn't last at all. Basically I got from them that it wasn't there problem. They do not guarantee regular polish. They really didn't care what I had to say. Don't waste your money on this place. Once they get your money they could careless about you. This place is a D- at best. Never again! We called in and asked if they would be ready for 4 people and when we got there, it was a tiny and dumpy room with one lady, a dog, and a dirty rug. Though the price was decent, $35 for a mani-pedi, she expected us to wait as she did one person after the other for all 4 of us! Even if there were 4 workers and we didn't have to wait... It is located in the West View Shopping Plaza, so there is never a worry about parking. I have been here a few times and had manicures as well as pedicures. I have always been accommodated as a walk in, no problem. The salon is very fresh and clean, with tasteful decor. Tina Nails offers a spectacular selection when it comes to polish colors and services. Their prices are very reasonable. Tina Nails offers discounts for students and often offer monthly specials! The nail technicians are skilled and adept at what they do. I love that they are very generous with the amount of time they spend on the "massage" part of the pedicure. Your legs and feet will feel GREAT! Also, I appreciate that they "check" your nails while they are drying to make sure you are leaving with a "set" polish. I will definitely keep coming back to treat myself to a relaxing pedi (or mani) and leave with a smile, not to mention some great looking and perfectly polished nails!
