The salon has moved from Lawrenceville to its beautiful new location and now it has room to grow (and parking!!!). Kelly, Jessica, and Beth are all excellent stylists. I've been seeing Kelly for years and she has given me the best layers I've had in my life. Even when I want to switch it up and do something new the cut is always perfectly executed, even without reference photos. She always offers me options for how I want my hair styled after the cut (blow out, straightened, curly, diffused) and no matter how busy she is or how late I'm there she always makes sure my hair is exactly the way I want it from simply styled to special occasion. Kelly, Jessica, and Beth are all dedicated to working with their clients. The product lines are always organic and go through a really intensive "interview" process before Kelly allows them into the salon. She makes sure that every company she buys from uses only the best organic, natural ingredients. I got a semi-permanent hair color once (just to change it up): it had a beautiful tone without any chemical smell and it made my hair so soft. If you care about your hair you have to care about what you're putting in it. I will not go anywhere else. They could move an hour or more away and I would still be there every 8 weeks. read more

I'm new to the area and I've been trying to find a new healthy hair salon to go to and I figured to give this place a try . it's been hard to get an appointment that works with my schedule. I am a nurse, and I have the weekends off. the customer service that I have received has been very short and rude. The prices seem outrages to me also. They don't seem eager to want my business! I have been looking for new salons in my area that take clients on Saturdays, and I have finally found the one! Making an appointment online was so easy to set up. I booked with Kerri on a Saturday morning. From the time I walked in the energy was light and comfortable. Kerri welcomed me as soon as I walked in and was ready for me. We discussed what I wanted to do with my hair and she cut it perfectly exactly how I wanted!! I usually get a super blunt bob, just below chin length. She delivered! I've only been to Be Pure once, but I had a great experience. I booked a cut with Jessica based on other reviews. My hair is wavy and thick and hadn't been cut in a looooong while. I also had a lot of random products I had been using with inconsistent results so I brought them along to ask for a pro's opinion. Jessica was friendly, and when I sat in her chair we had a good chat about my hair and what I was looking for. She seemed to listen well and understand what I was going for, and she made some additional suggestions and asked me some good questions that helped me feel confident that she had a good plan for my cut. We had a pleasant chat while she snipped away, and at the end she used some of my products I had brought in to style my hair, so that I'd be able to get similar results afterwards. It's been a couple of weeks since my cut and I have to say I'm very happy with it! Overall the salon is in a good location with ample parking, and it makes great use of the space (it appears to have been a house before it was a salon). It seems to be running efficiently, and had an overall balanced vibe of good energy as well as relaxation. I loved it that I could book appts online, especially. I have lots of allergies & sensitivities, so the smell in a usual hair salon bothers me. But not here - I guess because its all organic. I always dreaded having my hair washed other places because the wash station would hurt my neck. Here they are more than downright comfortable - your feet are lifted and the chair massages you! I have been going to Be Pure for a few months now, and I LOVE them! Kelly and Jessica are so kind and talented. Jessica always makes my hair look soft and beautiful. She does exactly what I ask her, but makes it look even prettier than I think it will when I come in. The products they use smell wonderful and are toxin-free, so I've bought a heat protectant cream that I use after each time I wash my hair. I really can't say enough about this place! read more

Really not happy with this place right now. Jessica and Kelly (owner) do a nice job with hair. I've been here three times....The first time I went there I was really impressed, Jessica gave a great haircut and for an all over color and haircut with a blowdry at it was $120. I went back to Jessica for a haircut, I was disspointed... she took off more than I asked for, she used a flat iron on my bangs, which resulted in breakage, and she didn't blow dry my hair, I walked out wet and it was $50. Then, I made another appointment to try Jessica again for a color and highlight, well my appointment was cancelled due to her vacation- ok, no big deal. THEY moved me with Kelly. I didn't like how Kelly originally did my hair, after she was done I asked her to add some more highlights and re-tone my hair warmer, I didnt like the original toner or how my hair was originally done. So she redid it. After everything was said and done, the price was $230! (not including tip) OMG! She charged $120 for color ALONE, $80 for a partial highlight and $30 for the toner! Then she says " I wont charge you for the blowdry"... mind you, that was the 1st blow dry... I WALKED OUT WITH DRIPPING WET HAIR, and I did not have a haircut and it was $230. When I commented on the price (shocked) and what Jessica charged me, she said, "I charge different that Jessica", very matter of fact like. Well..... Im Jessica's repeat client, and she never told me or talked pricing with me upfront, I assumed it was the same. That's not the clients fault. Jessica's prices should have been honored, I should have not been charged for the toner, because I didnt like it and she redid it. The color price should have been cut in half, that is INSANE! I left there crying... That ruined my whole day and my whole weekend. She could have explained her prices upfront. $120 for only color is really steep. My hair is about 3 inches past my shoulders too.... it doesnt go to my feet. My hair should have been $130-$140 tops. The place is cute and fresh. But its very overpriced and they dont work with you on that at all. You cannot add a tip to your credit card. Its $1.75 to use the ATM...... Im sick to my stomach. OK $50 for a haircut, is expensive, but I was willing to pay for the quality, because she did a really nice job. But $230 for partial highlight, color, toner, (no haircut, no deep treatment, no blowdry, no other services) is sickening. I was misleaded, and I refuse to pay that much for my hair- no matter how talented you are. I feel very taken advantage of....was I charged more, becuase she was upset I asked her to redo it??.. .. Any future, client, be afraid to tell them how you really feel. They lost a good loyal client and it sad, because at first, I was a huge fan going there. Oh- and in addition, this reminds me....The first time I went there, I asked Jessica to dry my hair... My hair is naturally curly, (but very easy to blow out)... Jessica wanted to diffuse my curls (I never do that), I said no and asked her to blow it out. Well, when it came time to check out, she changed the price $20 more, I saw her. As someone who has a head of unruly curls, finding a stylist who can help keep my hair in control is a challenge. After my visit to Be Pure several weeks ago, I am relieved to have found a new spot that caters to all of my salon needs. This was my first experience with the Be Pure Organic Salon in Emsworth and I am absolutely in LOVE. I have driven past the building for years and had no idea how amazing it was inside. The salon itself is a beautifully appointed, quirky restored farmhouse - the kind of place that makes you want to arrive for your appointment early just so you can hang out. The staff was wonderful. For my first treatment, I had a 60 minute customized facial with Georgina. She was so knowledgeable and lovely throughout the treatment and my skin never looked better as when she was done! I can't wait to go back to try a massage or nails. This place definitely gives some of the old standby spas in the area a healthy dose of competition. I have been going to Be Pure for about a year and a half, first in Lawrenceville and now in Emsworth. My stylist/colorist is Kelly and she is truly excellent! My color is not easy to match but Kelly manages to do it perfectly every month. I find the prices to be extremely fair. I loved the former location, but I'm completely in love with the new location - you really feel like you're on vacation! The service has always been fantastic and Beth, who usually washes my hair, is always extremely helpful and courteous. Truly a fantastic place! read more

I realize that writing this review will not do anything to help my hair grow faster, but I just need to briefly vent about the terrible bang trim I received here. This past week's visit was my third to the salon--all for bang trims. I had been very satisfied previously and loved the fact that during one of them, my stylist said something to the effect of, "Let's just take a little bit off and see how that looks, and we could always do more, if needed." So, on my third visit, I felt pretty confident in my stylist's abilities and her understanding of what I wanted done with my hair. I refreshed her memory on how I liked to wear them (and literally came in with long bangs, saying, "They're not too bad and just need a trim"), and she said something like, "Okay. So, we'll just get them out of your eyes." Sounded good. What I left with were bangs AT LEAST an inch shorter than they were previously, and they were crooked, too! I never imagined that a "bang trim" would result in that much being taken off. They are also impossible to style. I am seriously disappointed in my experience here . . . and desperately waiting for my hair to grow back! This is legitimately the worst hair experience I have ever had. read more
