Got my lashes lifted and tinted here for the first time. I liked the results - they weren't exactly what I was expecting but it may just be that I have less eyelashes and they may be a bit shorter than most so I am trying to be realistic about my natural eyelash potential. Jax did my lashes (and was super nice) and suggested I use a lash serum to grow them out for better results next time so I may try that out and see if my next lash lift & tint comes out a little more like others I've seen photos of. A few hours after my lift I felt like my lashes were falling out of their curl a bit but decided to give it some more time before worrying - when I woke up the next day I felt like they were retaining their curl just fine so maybe it just needed some time to "set"? Slapping on some mascara made me happier with the results overall so I do plan to go back to get my lashes relifted and tinted when the time comes! read more

I'd first heard about Kiki Beauty Bar through Yelp. I had been following them on IG, for a couple of months before deciding to book a facial for my birthday. Booking was very easy (online) and Kiki's had a ton of open availability with their various staff, which was nice. They offer services such as facials, waxing, lashes, etc. The space itself is nicely decorated and very clean. The esthetician I worked with was Jax and she was great. She took a look at my skin and recommended some products for me to incorporate into my skin care routine. She also explained the different types of facials Kiki's provides, to help with future booking. The facial itself was lovely. It was a relaxing experience and my skin felt and looked like glass when I left. They do sell some medical grade products at the shop- some of them are pretty pricey, but I was able to purchase a toner that I've been using ever since. I stumbled upon Kiki Beauty Bar through Groupon last year, and will never go anywhere else!! They're the best spray tans I have EVER gotten. Even though I live 35 min away now, I am willing to drive to them- that's how good they are. This is the best place in Pittsburgh! I'm super pale, and love their violet spray. It lasts a couple of weeks for me, and looks so smooth and natural. I always get so many compliments. They also do much more than spray tans! I've been going to Kiki for over a year, solely for lash lifts. From a services perspective, they were fine. Lashes, I am sure, are finicky, so I didn't always get a perfect lift but did feel they were worth the time and money. I won't be going back, though. After over a year of lifts (10+) I needed to cancel an appointment about 3 hours prior to it's scheduled time because I was ill (it's also a pandemic). For reference, I called about half an hour after they opened that morning. One of the catches here is that I have signed waivers regarding appointment cancellation under 24 hours, which is (I assume) required by all patrons of this establishment. I understand I signed a waiver, but I still did my best to explain the situation to Kiki. No one answered the phone when I called (during business hours) so I had to leave a message to cancel the appointment. Not even 30 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, I received a text and email stating I had been charged the full amount for the appointment because I was a no call no show, which isn't true. I called in and spoke with the receptionist who, after putting me on hold a few times, told me she had to follow policy and I'd be charged the full amount regardless. She said I could email the owner, which I did, but haven't heard back. Ultimately this is just a really crappy way to reward customer loyalty. Though I've been coming for quite a long time, have spent quite a lot of money there, and referred multiple customers to Kiki, it didn't matter. I still get to eat the cost of the appointment because I was sick and couldn't make it, even though I tried being as proactive as possible. The other irony in all this is I had enough reward points for this service to be free, yet was charged the $ amount for the cancelled appointment. This just doesn't cut it for me from a customer service/experience perspective, so I'll take my business elsewhere. I'd advise you to do the same. read more

I was VERY disappointed! I got a spray tan and color was negligible between my bra line and area sprayed. Legs were still very very white! I asked just to have my legs resprayed the very next day and Sheema refused! Said it would be a full charge again! VERY Poor Job. They don't stand behind their mistakes. So I have been going to KiKi for about 4 months now & I can't say enough good things about it. I originally found them off Groupon thanks to a Brazilian Wax Special they had... I have used a Groupon for this once before and let's just say ...it was painful . However, Katie was awesome, she was super quick, super friendly and it was comparable to one of the large waxing chains at a MUCH better price. Since then I have gotten an eyebrow wax and tint which was beautiful and an eyelash lift that was glorious . Makes it so much easier to throw on mascara and run out the door. I'm attaching a photo of the lashes and eyebrows but none of my bikini because 1)that would be weird 2) it's probably illegal. I'm pretty pale naturally so this was great to add some color but not too much. They offer a ton of other services besides spray tans as well. Lashes, skin care treatments and hair removal are just some of them. The spray tan stays on really long as well. They say guaranteed 5 days but I've seen it last much longer. I love this place, every time when I walk in I feel like I'm at home. It's clean and spacious so I'm never near any other clients. I've now went to Brooke for lash extensions, waxes, and a spray tan. Update: I went on my beach vacation with the spray tan (stayed out of the water the first day) and I could not tell when my spray tan went away and my real tan started. Ok folks the deal with this new beauty bar is....IT IS AMAZING!!!! Spray tans, wax/sugaring, eyelash services galore and can we say REASONABLE PRICES!! I'm a long term member of another waxing establishment but when I saw this place pop up on a 'near me' while in Pittsburgh I wanted to try it, I needed a wax and didn't feel like messing with explaining off site packages to my usual wax salon. This was my first time going to this establishment and I must say I am blown away. It was my first beauty appt since covid and I was a bit nervous because I wasn't sure of the facilities and the service quality. First I had brow lamination and henna with Sheena. Sheena was the REALEST. She was so sweet, had an amazing personality, and is a perfectionist when it comes to perfect laminated brows. The henna color was on point. I was extremely comfortable with her. I let her know of my concerns with my second service as it was a lymphatic drainage massage and I was nervous about the social distance and being in a closed room. She assured me the woman who would be providing the service was wearing a N95 and walked me through their sanitization process. I felt 100% better about it. I was transferred to my second spa service which I must add was a very professional transaction and well communicated that I would be waiting in the lobby until Doreena would come get me. It wasn't long until she arrived and was ready for me. Prior to getting started we reviewed my chart and I told her about recent changes and adjustments I was going through and what I was looking for. After she spoke to the pros of the lymphatic drainage and overall body awareness, I could already tell we were on the same page when it comes to health and wellness. Doreena had the most incredible energy. She was very clear about what to expect from my service. We discussed many other benefits of wellness during the session which 'talking' normally wouldn't be my vibe as I would want to fully relax during this experience but she was so knowledgeable about many different topics that it was worth the time for me to ask. Next time I'll enjoy my quiet time. :) Originally I had this scheduled for an hour but I wanted to ease my way into it and Doreena was very easy going and flexible on spreading out the time based on how I felt. If you want to get ripped off then go to Kiki beauty bar! Not only will you deal with some of the most unprofessional women you have ever met but the entire salon and their so called policies are a scam. Don't sign anything they ask you to and DO NOT give them your credit card number because they will run it without your authorization. If you thought being a civil adult would resolve the issue you are wrong. These individuals don't know right from wrong, they play the blame game and do not take responsibility for their staff making a mistake. They had the nerve to run my card for $300.00 and claim I was a no show to an appointment I cancelled weeks before I was scheduled due to being newly engaged and wanting to wait to get my brows done closer to my wedding. Obviously someone on their end dropped the ball yet I am paying for it? The manager Jen and owner Katie were unwilling to process a 300.00 dollar refund after I spoke to someone over the phone to cancel my appointment and I did not have an email conformation they claimed I needed to have. How would I have this if someone never canceled me in their system? According to them, their company policy is that they send an email confirmation and a phone call the day prior but I never received a call. When I spoke with Katie she claimed they did call and it is in their phone records. I offered a copy of my phone records as well as proof and of course they weren't interested in seeing them. In addition, I was then told by Jen how the company WRONGLY booked me for a 6 week micro blading touch up then switched me to a yearly color boost and then I was told even that was incorrect and I should have been booked for a 450.00 charge since my brows were done from an outside salon as if they saved me money. She clearly stated how incompetent the salon and staff are. They can't even book an appointment correctly let alone know what service I was to get. Thank god I cancelled or my brows would have been ruined. Im not sure why Katie and Jen are having such a hard time believing a mistake was made or maybe that's how they run their business, stealing money from innocent people. I attempted to be civil by calling and emailing them but they are unreasonable and have now left me no choice but to voice my concern publicly so that others don't get ripped off by their salon and so called policy. I intend to reach out to the BBB to ensure other customers don't experience the same issues. Due to their lack of professionalism and honestly I now have to close my card and contact my bank to dispute this transaction. If you had any thoughts of visiting this salon DO NOT go. I've been seeing Sheena for my body waxing (underarms, legs and Brazilian) and spray tans and she is just fantastic! She makes what would typically be an awkward experience totally relaxed and fun.
