First of all, I went to the BeSalon salon because of a prior salon overcharging me and messing up my hair not covering the gray, not getting highlights . So I get there and of course I told this new hairdresser. I wanted my roots dark 7N want them dark, and I wanted brighter highlights Because I wanted contrast instead I had white roots and she did not offer to fix them after I told her that I wanted my roots to be darker and also she had one of her coworkers look at my hair prior and I told her what I wanted I was not happy. She did not offer to put a darker color on my roots and said we will fix it next time well You don't let customers leave without fixing their hair and in my book I will never go back. I have be going to be. Salon for the past 3 years to get my highlights done and hair cut by Samatha. She is an all around great colorist and stylist! She is patient with my requests and is skilled at what she does. I definitely recommend her to any blondes or other prospective clients. As for the salon, I really like the way they have renovated the space from years prior. In recent times, they have been very diligent in their cleaning/social distancing practices in order to be compliant with the Covid regulations. I felt very safe every time that I went in and was happy to see them enforce the government rules as well as their own. read more

We took my niece for her first haircut and manicure to be. Salon because it came up in a kid friends salon search for Mount Lebanon. They treated my niece like a celebrity! No lie, I liked my 4 year old niece's cut so much I made an appointment myself for later in the season and loved my adult cut as well. We interacted with 3 different women whose list of names I can't recall in its entirety at the moment, in addition to the wonderful Patrick. Patrick is the worst kind of person. I called 10 days ago to get a cut and color. No one called back so I called again. They had nothing. I explained the situation. We needed hair color fixed before school. Patrick called back to say he had great news he could help us but we had to come in super early. We showed up and the bad news was that he couldn't fix it but they could cut my daughter's hair. She's is in tears. Thanks a lot. Update, Patrick started screaming at me in his waiting room and called me a bully. He said that I bullied my way into this appointment and now I was being a bully. He yelled at the lady cutting my daughter's hair and said that you can just stop that cut right now. She said that she wasn't going to do that and looked horrified. I told Patrick that I wasn't going to argue with him but was definitely going to share our experience with anyone who would listen. He said he was sure that no one would listen to me... Maybe Patrick should consider another line of work out of the service industry. What a guy. read more

I LOVE THIS SALON!!! I have been looking for a new salon for a while and was nervous about going somewhere new... After reading all of the wonderful reviews from other yelpers and also on Google, I made an appointment. I was set up with Brittany who was just fabulous! She took time to find out what I was looking for and gave me her opinions on what she thought would look best. I've had my hair done for less than 24 hours and have received so many compliments on the color! Even from my husband who has never commented on my hair before! (Lol) It's a gorgeous salon and everyone is so friendly! I was greeted and offered a beverage (wine - another bonus!) as soon as I walked in the door!! I called as a new client for a balayage and they never scheduled me. The front desk gal called me back once after she said she had to check the schedule and call me back. Still couldn't schedule me and was supposed to call me back a second time but never did. Disappointing they would do that to a new client. As you can see I wrote an earlier review. I had been to the salon two times and felt guilty - because of the owner lecturing me that it was my fault that my hair was not turning out how the stylist intended. I have had the same hair style/ color / stylist for more than 15yrs; then had to locate a new salon. For two years the owner and whomever he scheduled me with struggled (and I do mean to say struggled) with a blunt cut and all over color. I have never been talked down to and talked at in a professional establishment. For two years I stopped looking like myself but I was told very strongly that it was my fault. "There must be something wrong with your hair." So then I stopped using all of my previously recommended products (Kerastase) and switched to theirs, Bumble, etc. During a recent experience my hair started to fall out immediately after the appointment. At this time I asked for a refund and received a very mean response. In my personal experience there are very strong personalities at this salon and it is not what I would call a soothing environment. On two occasions a different person than was expected showed me to my seat. As I was settling in a front desk person came up to me and said, "exactly how did you get back here?!" I took my older father for a hair cut who has 10 "monk" hairs on his head. He was only receiving a hair cut. He was charged the full price and his hair was long. This man who never has a negative word could not understand how his hair looked the same as when he entered; same for my husband. Our personal experience at this salon was negative in every way. If I had to hasten a theme it seems to me that the owner is singularly focused on money. There are many salons in Pittsburgh as well as professionals working out of their homes. I'm also surprised this place doesn't have more (positive) reviews. I'm thankful I gave Be Salon a chance based on the only two reviews. My husband and I both needed new hairdressers, which can be a crapshoot and a bit daunting...like finding a new dentist or doctor, there's a lot of trust involved! Alayna cut my husband's hair very well, he has thick, wavy hair and she cut and styled it so that he still had body and texture but not so short he looked like he was 12 (unfortunately this is how a lot of hairdressers in the past have cut it). Samantha gave me a trim and the second visit brand new blunt bangs. She listens to what I want but still gives my cut her own style. I love coming here because Patrick at the desk is always so friendly (and offering me a cocktail doesn't hurt either!) and because the entire Salon is low-key but classy. The prices are fair and all of the stylists seem to have loyal followers, all different ages, men/women and even some younger children (it's been busy at 9am and 8pm and even during lunch hours). I also like that they pose a different question to their stylists each month/week on the walls and they post their answers next to pictures of themselves. It's a fun way to get to know all of them and feel like you're in an episode of 'Cheers' where everyone does know your name. Thrilled to have found this Salon...now if only my OB/GYN office offered cocktails in the waiting room! read more

Heather has been incredibly helpful with my nails. I have a mail that is tearing down into the flesh and is very painful. I tried to deal with it for 6 months and finally sought help. Over the last month we have stabilized it. Additionally she taught me a great deal about caring for my nails, all of which I should have known at my age. I had a color and blow dry. The cost was $97. Be careful- the blow dry, which was awful, was $32. When I asked Patrick the manager about this, he was snitty and temperamental. He said I could walk out with wet hair next time. I won't go back. There are too many good salons along Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon to put up with this. Megan did the color, which is nice and the blow dry. The blow dry was uninspired, dated and showed no styling. Who feathers back hair as a style? There was no volume and no styling. I immediately walked out and restyled my hair. It was ridiculous that so little talent or skill was provided for a $32 service that most salons include with a color treatment. read more

I get highlights, cut and nails done here and have seen several stylists as well as both nail techs and I would recommend any of them highly. be. Salon is THE best salon in Pittsburgh! Alayna is amazing. I tell her my thoughts, which are usually pretty vague, and somehow she does exactly what I'm looking for. She, and the other stylists, have helped me learn how to make my hair cute and stylish despite my lack of styling abilities. Alayna did my wedding hair and makeup, which were both exceptional. I don't wear makeup on a daily basis and was worried but I needn't be because she made it look absolutely natural. I love treating myself to a manicure at be. Salon because Heather is outstanding and patient with my indecisiveness. Patrick, the salon manager, is always able to find me the appointments I need and recommends the absolute best products. I found out about Be Salon after asking my midwife who cut her hair, her hair always looked amazing! She told me about Alayna at Be Salon and right away I booked an appointment. Alayna is wonderful, she always listens and every time I have a picture to show her what I want she gives me exactly that. I have had my hair colored by her too and it looks great, I always get compliments on it. The salon is beautiful inside, it's aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and ears because they always have great music playing. When you first come in you can count on Patrick, who is one of the owners, to greet you with a warm smile and offer you something to drink. The salon itself is cool & trendy. Patrick is always so kind, friendly and accommodating to my scheduling needs and if ever I need to cancel and reschedule, I never get attitude--always kindness. Brittany is a godsend--this girl went above and beyond in tackling my hair (which was no easy feat after what I had gone through at other salons previously) and did not stop until we achieved my goal. This included 2 visits, multiple lifts, three different toners, 2 different cuts, color melting, and a therapeutic mask. Everything that took place during the second visit was on the house because they were so understanding that I was not quite satisfied with the progress made the first go-around. Brittany, Holly, and Stephanie worked incredibly hard to give me what I wanted while still protecting the integrity of my hair. All three of these women are extremely talented, patient, and receptive to their clients' needs. As if all of that weren't enough, they also have a great complementary wine selection and excellent music for you to enjoy during your appointment. I highly recommend this salon, and wish I had discovered them sooner--for the exact same price I had a very negative experience elsewhere. If they offer you an appointment with Brittany DO NOT TAKE IT!!!! I should have known when I sat down in the chair and her hair was a mess that she would not do a good job. asked for dark brown hair with red highlights and walked out with dark brown hair and a few spots of red highlights. She didn't cover any of the blond that I asked to have covered. When she straightened my hair I told her do not put a curve in it I want it poker straight and she made it look like a bad hairdo from the 80's (mom hair) even after I asked her to not do it. Was just not a good experience from the start. The guy at the front desk was kind of dirty looking with a too tight mickey mouse shirt on and messy hair. Most of the people in the salon getting done had blond hair, so if you are a blond maybe you will have a better time. But if you have dark hair and want to have a good fall look DO NOT go to this salon. Super disappointed. read more

Great hair place! I had had two really awful cuts in a row at other salons (both of which took me about 6 months to grow out) and I had just about given up on the idea that a stylist would actually listen to what I wanted. I saw Samantha at Salon Bella and she was wonderful - actually listened to me, asked more questions so she was sure she knew what I was looking for, and then gave me the exact cut I wanted. I was so happy leaving and I don't remember the last time that happened when I went to a hair salon. I also got highlights for the first time ever and was very pleased with the results - again, Samantha made sure she knew exactly what I wanted - something subtle but still noticeable, and very blended. I am thrilled with how it came out - again, it's exactly what I wanted! The salon itself is adorable too - right in downtown Mt. Lebanon and so charming. They offer wine while you wait too! read more
