Such a great experience at the Skin Center with Angela! I went in not knowing what I wanted. I'm 44 & my skin is decent but I just wanted something that would give my skin extra glow. What I love about my experience with the Skin Center Medical Spa was how gentle and calm they were with me. They really took their time and did not rush my appointments. I went in because I have always been insecure about my under-eyes and I also wanted to get some preventive botox. I told Kathy and the team that it was my first time ever receiving fillers. Instead of just loading me up with a bunch of fillers and sending me home, they really took their time. We started off with cheek fillers and some botox in my forehead. They explained to me that the under-eye area is a very sensitive area and sometimes just adding some volume to the cheeks (which I was lacking) can give the illusion that you don't have as dark and sunken in under-eyes. Beginning with the virtual consultation setup and having to deal with the patient coordinator, my experience with her every time I had communication with her was fine up until she got the $2,000 to secure my surgery date. After that, it was terrible. She told me half truths and fast talked me every time I spoke with her. The first lie was about the financing and pay off with each lender they worked with. It wasn't until I received the packet with paperwork and read about financing that I found out she lied. At that point, I started reconsidering and I was going to have my doctor not clear me so I could get my $2,000 deposit back but I decided to overlook that lie. After receiving the packet, I read and signed the papers that needed to be filled out and sent them back. I then went and got my blood work done as well as the paperwork completed from my PCP. This was all within a week of receiving the paperwork and I let her know as soon as I got the blood work done that it would be there within the next couple days and her response to me was "fantastic". Fast forward to three weeks after I got the blood work done. I received an email from Patty saying that I got the blood work done too early and that I would need to get the blood work done again. I was confused because I had communicated with her that I had the bloodwork done already and she didn't tell me at anytime that it was too early. I advised her that they would need to resend the paperwork for me to go and get my blood work drawn AGAIN and I asked her what could be done due to the lack of communication on their part. That email went unanswered for a whole month until I emailed her again. I emailed her trying to confirm she had the right information on the paperwork. $20,000 is a lot of money to not get what I'm paying for because when the Dr called me to go over some things about my procedure, I asked him about a specific area and he said he didn't see it on the paperwork. She told me she didn't know, that the surgical team would have to confirm it. What?! She's the one who took the info and payment, not the surgical team. I ended speaking with a nurse. I could tell that her and the surgery coordinator had already talked about what was going on because when she called me she seemed like she was on defense mode. I asked her if she had received the paperwork from my doctor, if she could resend the paperwork for me to have my blood work done again and about what could be done from them not communicating to a patient about waiting to get their blood work done no more than 90 days before their surgery. She got loud and was telling me that the blood work needs to be done and that there is no exception. I understood that part, but she seemed slow trying to understand my question of what can be done to compensate me for having to go and pay more money to get my blood work done again after no one told me to wait to get it done. She kept repeating herself and so did I. She got louder and so did I. At that point I had a gut feeling this wasn't the place for me to get my surgery, after all it wasn't first pick, #8 on my list but was the only center that had availability for the date I wanted. I did not feel that I would be comfortable putting my life in these people's hands especially with her being part of the surgical team. She said that she would speak to the director and speak to the Dr and see what can be done about my request. She called me the following day and the day after that and I sent her to voicemail both times. I called her back because she claimed to have a few questions to ask me which was bogus. She advised that the Dr would be out of office on Labor Day but would return Tuesday and she'd have an answer to my about compensation. I called Wednesday and left a message saying not to worry about the compensation. On Thursday, Sept. 6, the nurse manager called and said she and the doctors decided to cancel my surgery and that they would be refunding me my deposit in full. I thought that was very unprofessional not because of them canceling my surgery but them doing so without calling the me and getting my side of the story as to what happened between the other nurse and I. Any real professional would want to find out the whole story instead of half truths but this office is full of half truths. I did apologize, even though I didn't mean it, to see if I could get her to change her mind. The only reason I did that is because I did not want to have to cancel the hotel/flight reservation and luckily, I got a full refund of my reservation. 5 minutes after getting off the phone with her, I called the plastic surgeon who was number one on my list who did not have the available timeframe I wanted. He had the same time frame available due to having a patient reschedule that morning.They may have thought they inconvenienced me but little do they know, they didn't! My advice to anyone wanting to come here is DON'T! read more

This is one of those, I don't usually write reviews but I felt so misled, I decided to write one so no one else would find themselves in this situation. I recently relocated to Pittsburgh from California and was looking for a new place for routine laser hair removal treatments. I inquired about how much a package of 6 sessions would cost (which is always how I've bought them before) when I booked my appointment, they told me a package would cost $275 but that someone would go over that with me before my appointment. I thought "great, $275 divided by 6, that's in line with how much I paid before." I showed up, had my appointment, and I can't tell you how mortified I was when I was told that I owed $275 for ONE SESSION, not six. I truly have never felt so embarrassed at a business in my life-- there were other people in the waiting room hearing the panic in my voice and questions to staff about additional discounts because I felt so taken back by the $275 for one session. I called the manager to tell her that I felt intentionally misled because no one went over pricing with me ahead of time as I was promised. I also said frankly, if they had they told me the cost before the session, I would have jumped out of my seat running. I was disappointed by how this was handled by management. She kept saying how $275 was still a great deal-- which wasn't my point. It was the fact that NO ONE went over pricing with me in advance, as I was promised. I thought this was going to be $50/session based on what I was initially quoted and how much I've paid in the past. It left a really bad taste in my mouth and I kindly asked that they make it right. I felt that the manager was trying to rush me off the phone instead of listen to my story, so she offered to give me $150 credit towards the spa and I'm not sure why-- I just indicated I couldn't afford the treatment and even with this credit, it's still $125 additional out of pocket. I said this to her and it sounded like she was fine losing a customer. I'm really bummed this didn't work out. The facility was beautiful and clean, but after this situation. I have had the most wonderful experience at the Skin Center in Mount Lebanon with Tori! I previously had Botox and lip augmentation at several other places in Pittsburgh over the past 5 years, but Tori was by far the best with her injections & the least painful, and I have had such lovely aesthetically pleasing results. At first I was completely spastic about what I wanted to have done, and she ended up recommending a different Juvéderm lip filler, Volbella, rather than Ultra, for my lips which looked much more natural rather than a duck bill, and some Juvéderm Voluma for my cheeks, which is psychotically expensive, but ultimately I got a really good deal! I used the 15% off first-time services and the buy three syringes get one free deal, and used Brilliant Distinctions points. Also the Botox was super inexpensive because of everything else I did, and it was painless and perfectly placed--very important to me because I once had a droopy eyelid for three months! I even went back a week later and had my under eyes filled, again by Tori, which shows some real trust because a needle going anywhere near your eyes could definitely be scary! But I was not scared at all in her capable hands. My results are fantastic - I turn 40 in a month but I look barely 30! I really recommend going to the Skin Center in Mt. This review is on the EyeQ eye lift procedure itself to bring awareness to the repercussions. I had very prominent bags under my eyes and had this procedure done in February 2015 (8+ yrs ago now) . If I knew then what I know now, I would have lived with the bags. First, the outside corner of my left eye is very concave. It looks like I have a perpetual smudge of black eyeliner or mascara there. I called about it about 6 months after the procedure and was told it would correct itself over time. It did not, even 8 years later. It also felt like there was glass on top of my eyeball inside on that same eye. They brushed that off as though it was my imagination. That spot took quite a long time to not feel that way, now it just feels dry all the time. I think it was from the skin tightening procedure done with the EyeQ procedure, almost like my eyeball was burned through my eyelid. The WORST repercussion of the procedure is how bad the cellulite on my thighs is. Fat was take from the fattiest part of my body to reinject in to my eyes for filler. I think that procedure loosened up the fat in my thighs and now my thighs look like cottage cheese. Cellulite does not run in my family, I'm not overweight by any stretch of the imagination and am very active and eat right. This liposuction procedure ruined my legs. Totally embarrassed to wear shorts or short skirts now. Everyone was very nice, including Dr. Brandy, but as I said, if I knew then what I know now I wouldn't have had it done. My appointment was at 3pm and I was seen at 3:10. So a 10 minute wait. There was one other person in the room, so they don't seem to overbook.
