Go big or go home, as someone who has lost close to 100lbs, I was intimidated to make the initial consultation. Don't be from the initial phone call to my 30day post op everyone has been extremely nice, professional, and guided me to decide to proceed with the procedure. My results are amazing! Went there October 3, 2022 for Buttox implants for my butt at the hurwitz center surgery, Dr Dennis hurwitz was my Dr that I consulted with and paid over $21,000 and got botched, almost died, they banned me from the place because one of the young staff made up defamatory statements and they left me to die! I ended up with an infection after one stitch bursted open and I bled so much blood, then they revised it and put the implant upside down, which cost me to have an infection and when I told them they told me to continue seeking medical health and left me to die. read more

This is going to be a long one but worth reading I assure you! My 40th birthday I was determined to get the surgery I wanted. It began with a breast augmentation and tummy tuck that I was after. I had contacted four plastic surgeons in my area *Buffalo NY*. The first one was a woman who made me extremely uncomfortable. During my consult I was wearing a paper gown, she opened the gown and immediately said, "Oh! I see why you would want that done!" Nope! Next...another doctor *I am diabetic* wanted to do 4 surgeries. The first was to remove my breast tissue and take me down to an A cup *I was a C!* then to schedule implants a year later and it was going to cost me $40k! NO! Another one didn't even know what the A1C requirements were to have surgery. The last one I didn't even get to my consult because he was so arrogant and rude. I was pretty annoyed at this point. My next step was signing up for a mommy makeover in Miami. I advised them that I was a diabetic and they said ok no problem. I paid in full for my surgery, my aftercare and my housing. Well, what I didn't know was that after my blood work they decided to deny me because my A1C was a 6 and they refused surgery because it wasn't a 5. They kept every red cent I paid!! I was losing a fighting battle here all the way around. I even contacted another surgeon in Miami explaining my situation and they said no problem but again it ended up being an issue only I refused to pay upfront and only give a $250 deposit of which I lost anyways. At this point I was even willing to go to MEXICO! I then made a call to Pittsburgh Center for Plastic Surgery. I had my first interaction with Amanda. I was so upset when I called. She did not hang up with me. She listened. She showed empathy and compassion. I had explained my entire situation. She had put me on hold and spoke with Dr. Armando Davila who stated he would in fact do my breast augmentation knowing the situation. He did ask however that I go into the office for a consultation for my tummy tuck to make sure he would be able to give me the results I was looking for. DEAL! I went into the office (a 3.5 hour drive) extremely nervous thinking I was going to be turned away. From the moment I walked up to the check in desk and met the woman I had spoken on the phone with, I felt safe and heard. I did not wait long before I had been taken back into a room and waited for Dr. Davila. OMG! Best experience of my life! He walked in and was not in a rush. I did NOT have to explain my story again. He knew everything. I knew at that moment, I was not just a $ sign. I knew this was something that was meant to be. I was finally in good hands! Dr. Davila took his time with me. He was not rushed. We talked and he explained everything to me, all of my options, costs, what to expect.....everything! Down to the last detail. When I arrived for my first visit my breasts were a 36C and my nipples were pointing to the floor so badly that when I looked in the mirror you could barely tell I had them. I weighed in at 180 lbs and was a size 16. I was severely depressed and had no confidence whatsoever. Today I am a 36DD, weigh in at 128 lbs and am a size 2! My first surgery with Dr. Davila was my breast augmentation and it was a HUGE success! I couldn't have been happier and healed very well. It was a great experience! My second surgery was my tummy tuck and going into this I knew there was a possibility of complications because of my diabetes, and there was. I was not healing properly and took me much longer to heal and for the drains to be removed. At one point I was very scared. Dr. Davila even took it upon himself to consistently check in on me and even send me medical supplies immediately! He made sure I was well taken care of even though I wasn't close by. It was definitely a process and please know that this wasn't anyones fault. It was simply because I am a diabetic and I understood the risks. Today I am healed 100% and have never looked and felt better. I was NOT done. I was so happy with Dr. Davila and his team that I went even further! I wanted my back fat gone and my arm fat. I had major weight loss and I was saggy. EVERYWHERE! My breasts and stomach looked fantastic! I wanted to complete the look. I then went in for a Flankplasty and arm fat removal *unsure of proper medical term* Again, a huge success! When I had gone for my followup there were a few things I wasn't sure about. Dr. Davila suggested a revision. Which I did. Everything I have experienced with this office was nothing short of amazing. Kristen has been helping me with wrinkles and my sunken eyes. I will never go anywhere else except Hurwitz Center for all my injectables!!! Their prices are cheap, Sarah is the PA and she is fantastic about placement of Botox as well as Juvederm in my lips. Once I let the Botox settle for a week I went back in for a touch up bc it didn't seem like it fully worked and I was not charged a penny! One other time I arrived and Sarah wasn't there so Dr Hurwitz himself injected my fillers. Michelle is the receptionist and she ALWAYS finds me coupons for my injectables! She is the best! "The Pittsburgh Butcher".... should be Hurwitz's nickname. Trusted him. Believed in him. Truely believed he cared about me. After 15 surgerys (explains how much my insurance company & i paid), im left with one breast, an open wound, & daily pain that has changed my life forever.  i now have to have bi-monthly appointments at a wound clinic & pain clinic. Craziest part is i stayed, letting hurwitz cut my pec til it is now swiss cheese with electrocution sensations 24/7. Just waiting for any relief! His confidence made me think he wouldnt let me leave til i was fixed.  Each time, shots in my chest, in the office, anything that wld help me, i was willing to do anything he said. After he realized he f-ed me up so bad there was no going back, he had the balls to blame the 5 cigerettes i smoked a day. In my stupidity, thinking he really cared, i called numerous times telling his nurse & secretary i have a bleeding open wound that isnt healing. You wld think Dr Butcher wld have wanted to make sure i was ok...maybe not bleeding to death internally?....So Dr butcher....i guess the cigerettes didnt affect the breast that remains.. huh? Maybe look into re-educating yourself & ur staff on "caring for others & the truthfulness on your abilities". Just because you can afford to pay for the title " best pittsburgh plastic" on google, people should know up front, what they are dealing with. The true DR. BUTCHER they are paying for will deform you for his monetary benefit, ignore you when your terrified(in tears) with the results & when he really screws up, he' ll cut you in the office so the hospitals & insurance companys dont know hes a verifiable butcher. What a life altering day one visit with you can turn in2. Im just so thankful im alive after looking at your true results! Dr. Lauren Wright at Hurwitz Center is the only to see! She is amazing. She has been treating me since the fall of 2019, and has taken years off of my appearance. I have been treated for the last 5 years for extra skin disorder my eyes. I was going to doctors and estechicians and no one fixed it. Not until I met Dr. Wright did she fix it. Recently Dr. Wright recentlly performed a Y-lift on me, which is a less invasive way for a face lift. It was incredible!!! Made me look 10 years younger!! Sarah Hall is so professional and wonderful at her job. I left Pittsburgh 3 years ago but still make the 2 1/2 drive every 5 months to get filler and Botox from her. Let me tell you a thing or two......a prospective patient should not be interested in eyebrows, underarm hair removal, the color of the decor, the surgery they had with a physician who is not Dr. Hurwitz.....NONE of these issues matter. Ladies, what you want to know is whether the surgeon can change the appearance of a feature you do not care for. You want to know the risks and limitations as well as whether or not Dr Hurwitz thinks he can make a positive change in your appearance. I read recently that the latest fad is to have the surgeon make you look like Ivanka Trump. This is ABSURD. What you want the surgeon to accomplish is making a better version of YOU...and let me tell you, Dr Hurwitz is extremely capable and can very likely do this, depending, of course, on what he is given to work with. I was referred to Dr. Hurwitz by the late Dr. Peter Jannetta. I had a large benign tumor of the scalp and had been to four neurosurgeons and one plastic surgeon who wanted to remove it in stages because there was not enough skin and room to close at the time of removal. I didn't want to do it in stages. Dr Hurwitz was the only surgeon who suggested using a tissue expander to grow new skin to close after ONE surgery. Every week for a few months I went to his office so he could inject saline. And guess what? He didn't throw the syringes around once he injected me. He put them into the proper container. It is LUDICROUS to suggest that a surgeon with his attention to detail throws syringes around carelessly. The procedure went flawlessly because he had PREPARED for it. The man knows what he is doing because he has had years of experience. So impressed was I with what he did for my benign tumor, I decided to have him look at my DD breasts which I loathed and which were creating multiple medical issues for me. I love my new breasts! They are a size B and look kind of "sporty" to me. I adjusted to the size very quickly. I was off all pain meds on the 4th post op day. I resumed fairly normal activity on the 5th post op day. I did not have any of the problems that other women who had different surgeons reported. I would rate my happiness as A+. One not very bright MD said to me: Why did you choose a surgeon who has been around for so long, and I said " Because I wanted the wisdom that comes with experience". And that is precisely what I got. So ladies, focus on the things that are important, and if you do, you will be more than satisfied with what you get for your investment. read more

One thing is I cannot say enough great things about the front desk for greeting me as part of the welcoming of the Hurwitz center and getting me in quickly! The only disappointing thing is I should have NOT been influenced by them to schedrule my consult with Dr. Davila. 1st impression not too good! I had a consult with Dr. Davila who was very short tempered inpatient and not professional. Very upsetting being referred to the Hurwitz center to acquire this disappointment of a plastic surgeon. Went to the Hurwitz Rejuvenation Center for laser hair removal for my underarms. Had 3 sessions and each time it was painful (to be expected) and Jodi, the Medical Aesthetician, said that my skin was reacting appropriately. Each session was approx. 3 months apart. After my 3rd appointment she did not request that I come back and said that I should notice that the hair was much sparser in a few months and I would only need to come back if I wanted all of the hair gone. 3 months after the last appointment I still have ALL of my hair. My appointments were the last of the day during the week and I felt that she rushed the appointment. Not worth the time, pain and $$$. read more

My experience with Dr.Hurwitz was horrible. The staff was pleasant but not the Dr. When me and my finance walked into his office, he did not get up and greet us nor did he properly introduce himself. I did not feel our presence was welcomed. He just began asking me background information questions. It was apparent that he wasn't trying to get to know me. He was extremely sarcastic, like when he asked me what did I for a living and I explained to him that I help people in Crisis and where my work location was. He was like "Oh there is definitely a lot of crisis in that area." I was unsure what he meant by this, I took this as he was passing judgement on the population that resides in that area because that I said help people all over Allegheny County who are experiencing crisis's. What really put the nail in the coffin was at the end of consultation, we are proceeding out of his office when he turns to me and says don't have anymore children. I was extremely offended about this. 1. I have never birth any children, 2. He was judging me by the way my body looked. 3. What if I was a woman who was trying to have children but I had suffered miscarriages. I honestly felt he was trying to turn me off intentionally, I truly was surprised that this individual with such prestige was so insensitive and rude. read more

Let me first tell younger ladies, please do your research when you are picking out a doctor. When I was of college age, we didn't quite have these resources. Dr Hurtwiz did my second rhinoplasty with sinus repair (I'm not certain of the exact wording). The first doctor is a very popular doctor in Pittsburgh who is technically a dermatologist that performs plastic surgery. Around 4 years after the first initial surgery, my nose started to grow side ways. Dr Hurwitz is a board certified plastic surgeon, that's what you need. Dr Hurwitz made the revision looks pretty descent. I wish I went to him initially. If I tell anyone that I had my nose worked on, they said it looks natural. With that surgery, I had my breast lift scars worked on. I know of a few friends that were afraid to get a lift due to scars. Dr Hurwitz did not perform the last augmentation. The scars look really great. Again, I've seen his breast augmentation work. I truly wish I went to him first, again. I have went to him in the past for fillers/maintenance work (I.E., Dysport, Juvaderm, etc). I'm a few overweight, agreed. I have some ortho problems that I didn't feel like discussing with him. The only reason why I am not giving 5 stars is for a little sarcasm based on that. Though I think I might go back. I've been working with a doctor that works on the face who is relatively well known. The other doctor doesn't really listen. He makes you look good for your age. With the high costs of fillers, I think I'm going to go back to Hurtwitz. He will actually listen to you and I had a ton of compliments going to him. I don't have wrinkles. If I want to realistically look ten years younger... I think he's the man. I never had any issues with the staff. I always thought they were extremely nice. I especially like Patty, his assistant. I hope she still works there. She will get you in a timely manner, extremely informative, and a great lady. For my fellow plastic surgery enthusiasts, I wanted to give you two stories. 1) I had a friend that had her breast augmentation around 8 years ago. It was between Dr Hurwitz and a fairly well known doctor down the street from him. I did not know of Dr H, at the time. Though I looked at his pictures online. I told her to go with Dr H. She did not because the friend needed a tiny lift. The second doctor didn't do a lift. Now her breasts look absolutely horrible. She has no cleavage what so ever, and they are sagging. The kicker is that her doctor did my first set of implants, and I had NO cleavage. I can not believe she was dumb enough to make that move. 2) I went to a plastic surgeon's office close to my home, to take out a fatty cyst. I went to a plastic surgeon to avoid a bad scar. What do you know, I had a bad scar. When the doctor initially came in to look my arm, I asked him to look my nose. The doctors said my nose was a train wreck and he would look at it in the operating room. Hmm... No. Dr H did take the time to do measurements, address my issues, explain the best and worst..realistic outcomes. read more

I had a breast augmentation with Dr. Veitia at this office. He has a very wonderful and caring attitude towards his patients, but he is incompetent. Dr. Veitia did a breast augmentation on me over five years ago, and I have permanent loss of sensation in both breasts. He inadvertently severed the nerves of both my breasts. This is devastating. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hurwitz. I have struggled with severe PCOS my entire life that caused massive weight gain. No Dr. listened to me until I was 320 pounds. I was finally able to get help and lose that weight. I had a lot of excess skin, however, all over my body. I went to Dr. Hurwitz and he was incredible. I was really worried about going to a plastic surgeon's office, I thought I'd be judged for my body but that's not at all what happened. His staff is so nice and so accepting and open and kind. Dr. Hurwitz listened to my story and my concerns and I felt comfortable enough to schedule the first set of surgeries I would need to fix my body. I'm now two years out and I am so happy. I have no skin left on my stomach and the scars are barely noticeable. I had no issues after my surgery. I'm now a few months away from my second set of surgeries with him. I am so glad I found him. I feel welcomed and accepted for who I am there. Dr. Hurwitz helped me in so many ways in this journey and I cannot thank him enough. He changed my life for the better. I can not say enough great things about Dr. Hurwitz. Dr. Hurwitz may seem a little rough around the edges or void of personality to some, however, please don't let that stray you away from getting the best possible treatment. I personally love the fact that he is quick and direct. He knows exactly what he is doing and he is one of the best in the business. He has many, many years of experience and has the credentials and accolades to prove it. He operated on me after a botched cool sculpting procedure and gave me back my confidence. The office is a little hard to get to, and has very cheesy, very purple decor. Folks who work the desk are nice, if a bit condescending. Dr. Hurwitz is direct, quick, not fussy. However when I went in for a treatment, he left syringes just laying around the office instead of just throwing them away immediately, which just seemed unclean and lacking the attention to detail that I want in someone injecting stuff in my face. He also didn't give me much follow up information which seemed unprofessional. On the other hand, the aestheticians are nice and knowledgeable. overall, pretty good and comfortable. Their prices are a bit lower than other, albeit nicer places. I'm on the fence about whether I'll return again. read more

I was referred to Dr. Hurwitz back in 2014. I was a little hesitant at first traveling close to three hours away to his office in Pittsburgh and almost made an appointment with a different surgeon closer to me. I have never met another doctor who has as much compassion and takes the time to explain everything and what to expect. I lost close to 300 pounds and had extra skin everywhere. I had rashes and had accomplished so much but still felt like I had failed because of this extra skin. He changed all of that in December of 2014 and my follow up surgery in the beginning of 2015. I was finally free of the extra skin and have been rash free and enjoying life like I should. I have done so many things I never thought I would of been able to accomplish.
