My experience with the staff has been nothing but great. My daughter sees Dr. Froelich, the pediatric dermatologist. She is extremely knowledgeable and takes the time to listen and answer any questions that we have. We've never had a bad experience or felt uncomfortable with any of the staff members at the South Hill or the Washington location. What I really like is that Dr. Froelich explains everything to my daughter and has a plan to fight her acne. I would definitely recommend the practice to anyone. read more

I am a contract worker and due to that my insurance changes regularly. I had provided the Vujevich office with two insurance cards, one that I had since I was 19 (now 25) and the other from my current contract, I tried to explain that after a certain amount of time, my insurance will change after my contract is up but the front desk receptionist was so so rude that I didn't want to speak to her any longer and just sat down. Guess what? Now that it's the new year, i get a call from said receptionist that my card is no longer valid. LIKE I TRIED TO EXPLAIN BEFORE. While the nurse and doctor were nice, every single time I have unfortunately had to interact with the rancid receptionist, whether for my keloid injection or simply just to confirm my appointment, she is beyond condescending and disrespectful. I have never seen anything like it before. It's like she has something against her company and is intentionally trying to sabotage them. I have cancelled any future appointment and now, I am trying to figure out how to pay my outstanding bill without having to talk to that vail woman. I will never return, in fact I wish I could warn anyone that ever has to interact with this woman to stay far away. Evil spirit and energy. read more

Prices are astronomical. I was charged $300 to have a tiny mole removed and $400 to have one sunspot lasered. Then I was billed $80 repeatedly by the lab. I called to explain that I paid the lab bill and the woman I spoke with said "The doctor will call you tomorrow." The doctor never called. But I received more bills that I already paid! Be prepared to be rushed in and out, ignored and nickel-and-dimed! Also, avoid Dr. Regula; she is incredibly insensitive and flat out rude. read more

I have been going to this practice for several years and everything was fine, but you really don't know how good a doctor or group is until you have a problem. This week I had to have surgery to remove a cancerous growth that they discovered. I went to their ambulatory surgery center (their own facility) and, if you have to have surgery for skin cancer, this is the best place I could imagine. First, the surgeons are highly trained and qualified. Dr. Regula, who operated on me, did a fellowship in Mohs surgery, which is what I went in for, after her residency. Her qualifications are outstanding. Second, the whole staff are very well trained, work highly effectively together, are compassionate and communicate very well with the patient. The waiting room is warm and even the receptionist is outstanding. I went in nervous and a bit scared because it was, after all, cancer, and they all put me at ease. Even the decor was relaxing. I can't explain why, but it just didn't have the cold feel of a typical surgery center (unfortunately, I've had a lot of experience in surgery centers the past 6 years). Whoever decorated it really understood the mind of a patient and the anxiety we suffer in such situations. read more

I have gone to the dermatology office for many years and always had excellent treatment as needed. For the first time I consulted with the Cosmetic surgery portion of the office. There was no prior warning to me about the prohibitive cost of their simple procedures such as angioma and mole removal. I wasted $75 having a consultation only to learn that the costs are totally out of line. Look elsewhere, is my advice, and hope that dermatologists are upfront with the costs before proceeding further. The costs here are more than 50-70% higher than other dermatologists. read more

First time patient. I liked my Dr. alot but the nurse was rude and spoke to me like I was a child. I felt I was being rushed in and out and the nurse insisted on giving me quotes and to sign a sheet when I told her I wanted to wait and not sign something. I felt like a number who was being pushed to pay a ton of money to get minor things done. I wanted 3 things removed on my face and the nurse said its 1-15 things in one session. Can't be split and it is what it is. Will go to a smaller practice where the whole staff will treat me with respect and only pay for what I need. Why do people go to this place? read more

The doctors and staff are friendly and helpful but their billing is ridiculous. All payments are due in 30 days. This has never happened to me with any other doctor office. Typically a patient has 90 days to make payments. read more

I hadn't been to the South Hills office in several years, but went back this week and had a great experience. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Karen, my provider, was kind, professional, and knowledgeable. The ancillary clinical staff were great as well. I had such a good experience I made my husband an appointment there as well. read more

Health problems never seem to end for me but at least I can get things checked out so I have no major concerns. While I was unable to get an apt with a regular dermatologist in this practice I was able to snag an apt with a nurse practitioner within a week's time. Upon arrival I was treated with courtesy and respect. After filling out the necessary paperwork and paying my co-pay I was able to be seen within about 20 minutes of my scheduled apt time. The nurse looked at the specific areas of concern especially a growth on my forehead. I was relieved when she told me it was nothing more than a benign growth and will get irritated from time to time. The best part was that I have always had a problem with dry peeling fingers and no hand cream in the world has ever been able to provide relief. She recommended a product which is made out of urea 20 and told me I can buy it at my local pharmacy. I was told to return in a year. I did buy the product and am thrilled to see that it is already at work. The practice is located near St Clair Hospital on Wren Dr. and they have their own parking in the back. Most insurances are accepted so make sure to check if you are in need of their services. Having peace of mind always helps when it comes to skin issues so I was glad to have my issues addressed prompted. Most certainly wlll return next year when they notify me. read more

I have visited this office twice -- once as a parent of a patient and once as a patient -- and the purpose of each visit was skin-cancer related (and thus covered by my insurance). However, I have been shopping around for a dermatologist for more cosmetic reasons and have been using checkups as kind of a try out. The pediatric dermatologist was polite, prompt, efficient and patient enough to explain each step of the process to my adolescent son. She did not elaborate in any area, nor was she receptive to answering any off-topic questions (e.g., we came in about a spot on his face, but when I asked about a similar spot on his arm, she seemed to suggest that I would have to book another appointment for that issue). I am willing to bet that she was following a policy, because she was wonderful in every other way. The dermatologist who treated me was all business to the point of being kind of humorless and curt. It was kind of like she was reading a script and this appointment was the last thing she wanted to do that day. However, she did take the time to mention that I have tiny bumps under my eye that could easily be fixed with a cosmetic procedure. This was weird, considering what happened next. I know better than to expect cosmetic services at a medically necessary appointment, but when I asked basic questions about skin care appointments (e.g., what to expect, the price, after-office hours, etc.), the dermatologist acted like I was trying to pull a fast one. She shut down my questions and told me the receptionist could answer any question not pertaining to that day's visit. While I understand the policy, the interaction was needlessly tense and weird. I like prompt, polite and professional, so I would have come back, had it not been for the reception desk. All four or five staff members in that glass cubicle give off the most unwelcoming vibe. When a new patient walks in, no one greets them or lets them know that someone will help them in a few minutes. There's a sign that asks patients to stand in a specific spot and wait. So while the staff sits inside a glass cube, not interacting with any patients, a newcomer awkwardly stands there, waiting for something to happen. The staff doesn't even make eye contact with you. They don't speak very loudly behind the glass and they don't even crack a smile. It's the weirdest thing. And, yes, that other reviewer wasn't exaggerating. The staff members do gossip (which they do in a louder voice than the one they use to talk to patients). Awkward. I had already paid my co-pay, so there was no real reason for me to stop at the reception desk on my way out. But I was flagged down by an equally grumpy staff member. That's when I figured out Vujevich's business model. It all made sense at "check out," when I was staring at bottles and ads with Vujevich's name plastered all over them. They tolerate medical visits covered by insurance because they hope to convert you into a cosmetic patient so you can pay for big-buck procedures and Vujevich's skincare line. If you get the impression that they can barely tolerate you and your moles, you're probably right. Your moles don't bring in the big bucks -- crows feet and wrinkly necks do that. That also explains why the staff greeted a couple women who waltzed in by name. Some people may not mind the elitist vibe of the office, but I'm not interested in channeling my time, energy and money toward negative environments. read more

This office is horrible. The receptionist at the front desk does not belong in a career where she has to interact. She makes coming to the office so uncomfortable. I heard her argue with two different people. She was so rude. A man was just discussing his frustrations with ACA and she acted like he was whiny. Another man said he forgot his insurance card and he'd send a copy and she gave him an even harder time. She even told me that people have Tricare have ID cards even though I'm in the military and know they don't. Just rude and horrid. They told me I needed to get an abnormal mole removed right away then made me re-arrange my work schedule to fit an inconvenient time during the day. Then I get there at said time and was told it was a half an hour later. I was specifically told the time I showed up at. Then I hear them gossiping about it while sitting in the waiting room. After I get my results from my biopsy I will NEVER return to this office. Unprofessional across the board. read more

I had to find a new Dermatologist and began looking into new Doctors. I was referred here by a friend and I figured I would try them out. I will say, the staff was absolutely wonderful here!! I had barely any wait time and everyone was extremely friendly from the moment I arrived. The Doctor was very thorough and friendly as well. He was very patient and went through everything with me in great detail. I didn't feel rushed at all and he took the time to answer my questions thoroughly. I highly, highly recommend them here. Oh my gosh, the complaints about front desk staff are so true! They don't acknowledge me when I walk in as a new patient, point toward waiting area and tell me to wait. Ok. I sit right next to the Sign that says "wait here" but never invited to check in. I finally check in after approaching them, having waited for 15 minutes and she said "oh, I didn't see you there". She did apologize. Then I was sent away for not having my insurance card although I had an up to date photo of both sides of card. They certainly have every right to reschedule me but I definitely will not return. read more

I have been a patient at Vujevich Dermatology Associates for more years than I would like to admit and always I've experienced friendly, courteous attention from the office personnel and from the medical staff. The quality of care is excellent. Eight years ago we moved away from the Pittsburgh area, but we continue to drive nearly two hours for our appointments. Two years ago I was concerned about a mole on my husband. I called Vujevich Dermatology and we had an appointment within two days. That mole was benign, but another was found to be a malignant melanoma. How blessed we were when Deirdre Gardner biopsied that other mole and to have their recommendation for surgical treatment. Since then my husband has undergone 3 Mohs surgeries and one excision by Dr. Christie Regula. She is incredibly gentle, sensitive and skilled. My husband and I thank everyone associated with Vujevich Dermatology and would encourage everyone to have skin check-ups on a regular basis. With their expanding offices appointments are readily accessible. read more

I wish I could give this place zero star. They messed up with me on my first appointment. I called them to make my appt 2 days before and when I got there (on July 17th) they didnt have my name on the system. They "squeezed me in" saying that someone made a mistake. 4 days later they sent me some kind of bill of almost 500 stating that that would be the cost of my surgery that we scheduled on the appointment. I called my insurance plan and an agent went over my coverages with Kathy (from the clinic's billing deparment) and found out that again they were wrong, I only had to copay 40 for this procedure because it would be done at the office. So on that day 07/17 I scheduled my surgery to remove a subcutaneous lipoma for today (7/30), I called in on Friday 27th to confirm my surgery and I got a call from them on the surgery's date, stated that they made a mistake again scheduling me and they would have to reschedule me, because this procedure could not be done at the doctor's office but in the surgery center instead. Also, they told me that I had to pay $500 deductible. I was not prepared for the 500 payment today because I was counting on paying only the $40 copay because this is what O was told first. So they are the ones who scheduled me and didnt know what to do? They told me that the nurse who saw me Jennifer West on the 17th was the one who made this error when she said it would be a simple surgery but they found out only today that in fact it is not a simple prodedure at all. I requested off from work for this surgery. After many calls back and forth, and many no's from them trying to apologize for this inconvenience, and after I told them how upset this was to me they said that another doctor, Dr Regula, could get me in today instead of Jennifer West bcz I was upset. So why they didnt try to schedule with this Dr Regula first instead of saying to me that they couldnt do this procedure today? The receptionists are very rude as well, they lack communication and respect with the patients. I do not trust them after this, I do not want to have any procedure done by them at all. read more
