Recently booked a pedicure appointment with them during a quick weekend stay in the city. First, they got me in the same day! Second, I do not have simple feet for a pedicure. After years of competitive soccer, I am now the host of chronic ingrown toenails. Third, my experience was nothing short of wonderful. If you've ever experienced an ingrown, you know just how painful they are. My pedicurist did a fantastic job on removing three of four ingrowns and made me completely comfortable during the entire service. She was afraid she was really hurting me, so she asked her boss (Jimmy) to remove the fourth. He checked it out and decided to soak my foot and allow the swelling to go down. He asked his wife (Connie) to give it a shot after the rest of my pedicure. After a few moments she was able to remove it. Now I understand that most would not prefer three different people to dig around in an already extremely aggravated area, but for me the relief was worth it! Just wanted to say how much I appreciate all of the employees being so attentive and taking care of me! My feet feel and look a million times better. The pedicure was pretty straight forward as I just got a regular pedicure but good nonetheless. While my feet were drying, they didn't just leave me, my attendant came to check on me. I was in town from California and decided to get my nails done since we can't get them done there due to COVID restrictions. My daughter and I both got pedicures and I got the dry dip manicure and my daughter got gel manicure. Everything was perfect. Jimmy, the owner, did my dry dip manicure and pedicure and he is a perfectionist! He took his time and is very talented. I wished I can come back to get my nails done here every 3 weeks but Unfortunately i'm going back to Los Angeles tomorrow. My go-to salon, which is now a 15 minute walk from my apartment. They always take care of me! In terms of safe practices regarding COVID-19, they do a forehead scan to check your temperature, have plastic or plexiglass barriers, and require masks so I feel quite safe coming here during these times. I've always heard good things about this studio but I did not have a good experience. I made an appointment for 11:00 for a gel manicure. They did not start until 11:45. I sat with acetone on my nails until 12:15. I didn't leave 1:30. I showed them a picture of a glitter design I wanted and what they did did not mimic the picture at all. The studio is modern and trendy. They play music videos so there is an upbeat vibe. All the employees were nice. Very dissapointed with my "dip" manicure. It wasn't even a week yet and it looks bad already. It came out super thick and it was too much for my Wedding day. I think to get a good dip manicure you need to make an appointment with Connie. The 2 old ladies were very sweet but I think the service that they provide isn't as good as what I expected it to be. Just got my nails done yesterday for the first time here and LOVED it. It is sad that they don't have a student discount but it is still pretty affordable. They do take care of every detail and are super nice and friendly. The only downside (and I read this in other reviews too) is that even if you have an appointment they can make you wait a little bit. I really like it here! It's definitely my go-to nail place. It's not perfect but it's just what I need for a good, affordable mani or pedi. Everybody is SUPER friendly and my nails always look great. I know what I want from a nail salon because I've lived around the world and have had pretty much every manicure/pedicure experience possible. Brush exceeds expectations on all counts. Everyone who's given me a manicure or pedicure has done a superb job, so I can say with confidence that they hire quality staff. I always get compliments after I go to Brush. Also, the atmosphere is really welcoming. I've tried other nail places in the area and it's been really rushed. They usually don't honor appointment times, either. Very unsatisfied. An old lady did my mani and I thought she would be experienced but soon found out that she has almost no experience at all. She tried just removing the cuticles without even push them back! So some of the cuticles were removed and some were not, making it looked uneven and ugly. She also kept on cutting the sides which was also uneven, and she even made a cut on my middle finger!! I've never gotten a mini where my cuticles and skin look worse after! The oval shape was not smooth either. She said she could fix that but I didn't want her to file my nails shorter so I said that's fine (and knew that this was probably the best of her ability). This is not what I expect for a $40 service ($35 gel mani + $5 matte top coat). They should not have someone so inexperienced to do the job! read more

In the past, I've done ombré glitter and a fun Halloween Jack-o-Lantern pattern, which I was very happy with. I had a mixed experience with Brush, but was overall happy with my end result. I had an appointment for 12:30 on Saturday but didn't get seen until around 12:50. I would say if you go on a Friday or Saturday, even if you have an appointment, be prepared to wait. They seemed a bit chaotic with appointment times, who was doing what, etc. I wasn't in a rush so I didn't mind much but if you are looking to get in and get out, this probably isn't the place. Annie, my nail tech, was really sweet and took her time with my manicure and polish. I wanted a floral design on 4 nails total and at first Annie told me Connie would do it. Then she came back and said, actually my mom (another nail tech) is going to do it. Her mom started doing my nail art, and quite frankly it looked terrible. Everything was getting smeared and it looked nothing like the picture I showed. They were accommodating when I told them I wasn't happy, she stopped the design and buffed it off. Then, Connie did my nail art and I loved it - it was just like the picture and came out awesome. It was also only $10 more to do a pretty intricate design on 4 nails so I thought the price was good.
