I am so happy to find a local nail spot that is fantastic. I stopped in on a weekday not realizing it was by appointment only. Luckily they still accepted me. I was treated to a lovely pedicure and conversation. The salon was super clean and didn't smell like chemicals. It was also exceptionally quiet and relaxing. The salon is easy to miss from the road. It is on the bottom floor of the building. Parking is a pain but thats normal for Squirrel Hill. I will 100% be coming back and making an appointment ahead of time! read more

My friend and I stopped by here after a long day walking around downtown. It was one of the few nail salons open til later, and it had the best ratings. I'm really glad I came here! Don't listen to the outlier low rating (I think she was having a bad day.) And my friend can say the same! Dina was AMAZING!! I regret not tipping her more. She has magic hands and works hard. This salon has generally good reviews so I did not expect my experience to be so poor. I wanted OPI Funny Bunny on my toes which the salon did not have, so they recommended OPI Bubble Bath. These colors look nothing alike so I was disappointed in their lack of knowledge about nail polishes but I went with it. Things that shocked me: - Dial soap is being used... not even a body soap or something that doesn't leave my skin feeling so dry? Isn't Dial for your hands? - They use paper towels instead of toe separators. I get it, this saves money, but then the pedicures here should be a bit cheaper. - The pedicurist literally ran the cuticle cutter through my toes and wiped the gunk on my toe. I didn't say anything as I wanted to let her do her work but then she tried to push my foot back in the tub with all of that on it. So gross! Since $35 is the standard pedicure price in Pittsburgh, I would expect to get a standard level of service. Here, it was far below the standard. This experience makes me concerned about how sanitary everything else in the salon is. read more

I came here on a date with my wife to get pedicures. As a former athlete, let's just say that my toe nails are...not in the best shape. Lol. For that reason, I was a bit apprehensive about what my experience would be like. My wife and I both had an excellent experience and will most certainly return. The family that runs the spa is friendly and kind. The person that attended to me was very helpful, providing advice for how I could improve my toe nail health. My pedicure was well done and I have no complaints about the service but I will never go back as when I was finished and drying, the older man who works there, who did not do the pedicure, took a picture of my feet without asking my permission. My husband and I went there for pedicures. The NAILSPA is down a flight of stairs from Forbes Avenue. I did not notice if there was an elevator. When you arrive you will see a sign indicating that gratuities if you choose to give one must be paid in cash and cannot be added to a credit card, so take cash for the tip. The spa is clean and pleasant, not fancy. They have three pedicure chairs. We used two and I had a chance to chat with the woman in the third chair. She has been coming to the spa for years and loves it. We did, too. Best pedicure we've ever had. The owners and staff are friendly. They have young children who pleasantly play. I heard the owner tell a customer that they only do natural nails. We will be back and recommend for those who really want a nice manicure or pedicure. They do take walk ins and did so while we were there. We recommend calling first if you are driving to be sure they are open. They will stay open late as posted hours suggest but if it is a slow night, might close early. read more

I found these guys on referral through some aesthetics website I can't remember. I got in easily and they even answered my email on a stat holiday - bonus. Quick service, good job and nice environment. Parking is a bit of a ^%$&@ on Forbes so Uber or walk if you can....it was a tad on the expensive side for what you get - I'm a super massage freak and would've loved a bit more attention on the hands. I got a gel Mani and a regular Pedi with added massage/lotion/scrub. Took about 1.5 hours or so and I love the colours they have to offer. This is my go-to place for hair. Paige always does a great job with my hard-to-wrangle, thick, wavy hair. I've been trying to grow it longer without it looking too heavy and she is able to do that while not chopping it too short, which other places tend to do. I've also had my nails done at NailSpa and they do a pretty good job there, including fixing a bad gel I had received at another nearby salon. I like the color selection. I feel strange writing a review on a place I've never been but seeing as though that choice wasn't mine I think it's necessary. I purchased a groupon for a hair treatment - cut and conditioning. I called them to schedule my appointment, the message said it's best to email them instead. I left a message stating my preferred days and times for me to schedule an appointment. And because I'm a reliable person I also emailed them reiterating the same information. About a week passes and I never receive a phone call back or an email. At that point I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt. I suppose it's possible they never received my phone message or my email. I call them again, leave another message telling them my availability and letting them know I've called and emailed before, I then email them a second time saying the same as the message I left. Nothing. No call back, no email back. Somewhere in between the first call I made and second I was walking past their shop and tried to go in to make an appointment, door was locked and lights were on but it looked empty. This was in the middle of the week in the early afternoon. If they are so busy they can't be bothered to answer the phone or reply back to an email you'd think the place would be packed. Super frustrating to pay for a service you never received. Horrible way to run a business! read more

I'm utterly sadden and disappointed in this Nail Spa, my friend and I went there we were running around Pittsburgh trying to find a nail salon since we had a series of unfortunate events prior to this to why we could not go to our regular nail salon. We are two educated African American women who respectfully greeted the women in the nail spa and asked them if they would be able to do a mani and or pedi she then looked ya up and down and had said something under her breath and then her daughter walked out and the woman was working on a client and told us that "WE ARE CLOSED" and a reminder that they did not close until 9pm we arrived at 8:00 my friend and I will never never go to this nail spa again . I bought a Groupon for 2 cuts with style. I used one for myself. The stylist, who is mercifully no longer there, cut my hair longer on one side, and cut almost 2" off ( I said no more than 1/2"). Called them repeatedly (4-5 times) before someone (I think it was the manager) called me back, but I had already gone to Antina's (another Groupon disaster). Unfortunately, I was heading for a tunnel on the T; I called back, booked an appointment, went, and left, because the new stylist encouraged me to go back to Antina's and have them fix my haircut and partial highlights that they screwed up.To her credit, she did offer to fix my hair, but Antina's screwed it up, so they should fix it. I still have the other cut I need to use by June, but after 3-4 more calls without a call back, I'm not hopeful. I'm calling bank for a refund, as Groupon refused. read more

The best. This is now the ONLY nail spa I will go to in Pittsburgh. I'm telling all of my friends! Excellent attention to detail. I am a longtime devotee of acrylic nails. I have been to salons throughout the U.S., and no one has ever taken the time to refine and buff the nails with the sides of an actual nail file before. The result? A very thin, natural-looking nail, with curvature and shape that matches my natural nail. It doesn't take them any longer than with the mechanical buffer, either. I have also gotten pedicures, eyelash treatments, and eyebrow waxing here. All had similar attention to detail and were of the highest quality. Service is amazing. People are very friendly, kind, and accommodating. Always offered a complimentary beverage. I have been to the NAILSPA twice and both times had excellent service and results. Got a mani-pedi each time. What I really liked was that they did both the manicure and pedicure at the same time, so it cuts your time at the spa in half. That was a big selling point for me. Visited The Nail Spa for the first time about two weeks ago when I checked in. I was able to book an appointment same-day, and noticed that they have pretty late hours. Was really impressed with the cleanliness of their studio. They offer tons of colors for gel, and were able to match my gel color perfectly with regular polish for my toes. The Nailspa was recommended to me by a friend. I am less than pleased with the gel manicure I received last weekend. After only 5 days the GEL is chipping and peeling off. Totally not worth the money. The layout is totally different than the pictures seem and everyone there was mildly rude. I had THREE people work on my nails because I asked if a color would match a picture I showed and when it didn't they got made and switched people. The color was streaky until a second and third coat were applied (which he didn't think was necessary). I went with my friends for a relaxing weekend treat and came out with nails that were not perfect and cuticles still a mess. I go routinely every 2-3 weeks for a mani/pedi and eyebrow/lip waxing. They pay very close attention to detail, and I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is extremely clean, and very relaxing. The salon smells fresh and clean unlike many salons that reek of acrylic and nail polish. I can not recommend them enough! I have been to The Nail Spa twice, both for a mani/pedi. Both times I was a walk-in. The first time, they had me return in an hour and the second time they took me right away. Very relaxing environment. I am not a fan of the Betta fish in the tiny little bowls on the walls. Betta fish need at least a 5 gallon tank to live happily. So I feel this is cruel. They do not do a sugar scrub (or any other kind of scrub) on your feet or legs, which is disappointing, especially for a $50 mani/pedi! They have an excellent selection of polish: new OPI & Essie colors. My main complaint is both times I visited this spa, both my mani and pedi begin to chip the same day. By the second day I had a big chunk missing from my finger nail polish and by the third day several nails and toes were missing polish. I don't know what they do to make their manicures chip, but it happened both times. I won't be back. For such an expensive service - they are pricy; the mani/pedi should not be chipping!! read more
