First of all, their storefront is BEAUTIFUL! Lovely and calming blue and white decor that was so clean and just so nice. Great ambiance and vibe. Sherri was great, explained the steps to me since I'd never had a facial before. They used amazing high quality products tailored to my skin type and condition. Sherri even sold me on adding an additional service with blue light to target a breakout and I loved it. It was just one of the most calming and relaxing experiences and I booked another appointment. To me, totally worth the cost. I look forward to my next visit.

So based on my Google search I chose Melissa at Bloom for my transformation from then to now. I wanted a modern long shag from just long hair and was looking for a culture that was easy going and not focused on the upsell aspect we are all accustomed to. Seriously, do it. She could not have been more supportive, talented or affirmative. She took several inches off my hair and a few years off my aging face and self image! Melissa you are such a gift!

They were both extremely kind, professional, and made me feel comfortable and cared for throughout my visit. The spa itself is beautiful, clean, and has such a relaxing atmosphere. I really loved that it isn't a typical spa office setting. It's located in an older Victorian-style home in Shadyside, which gives it a unique and cozy feel that adds to the overall experience. Even the front desk staff (I believe her name was Laura) was so welcoming and friendly. Everyone I interacted with made me feel right at home. I originally came in because I had a gift card, but after such a great experience, I will definitely be returning for future massages and facials. Highly recommend!

You book directly with the stylist either by phone or through styleseat.com or depending how the stylist is set up. All of the stylists have unique spaces which have their own doors. Parking is plentiful, the space is lovely, and Chelsea herself is the curl-whisperer that I had been waiting my entire life to find. I swear, when she hangs up the blowdryer and retires, I am shaving my head and calling it a day. As for the Sola concept, it really is cool. They have locations all over Pittsburgh. It's like big indoor markets or restaurant incubators that have individual stands (Think Smallman Galley or the now-defunct Pittsburgh Public Market), where each one is rented out by a hairdresser, esthetician, beautician, or the like. Everyone decorates and arranges their space, manages their appointments, and takes payment in their own space. It's cozy and easygoing, and within striking distance of places where I like to go to grab something yummy afterwards. All in all, an enjoyable experience.

The owner and head stylist, Kelley, had the last appointment free in 90 minutes, so come on by. Excellent. It's a little shop tucked across from the Giant Eagle (don't park in their lot!), with a comfy waiting area. Kelley called me over for the consult and just got it immediately. Not only that but she was enthusiastically on board with what I wanted. I had had a bad cut from a different salon previously and told her all the ways I didn't want to hold onto that shape, as well as what I did want. An hour later my hair was all over the floor in a ring of the fallen, and my hair looked AMAZING. All the texture and layers and movement I missed was there again. Seriously a great haircut. And she even passed on her car mechanic's info (contextually - I needed on and she was talking about it). Really aces.
