I had such a wonderful experience at Evolve Wellness Spa in Shadyside! I came in today for a massage with Fox and a facial with Maria, and both were absolutely amazing. They were both extremely kind, professional, and made me feel comfortable and cared for throughout my visit. The spa itself is beautiful, clean, and has such a relaxing atmosphere. I really loved that it isn't a typical spa office setting. It's located in an older Victorian-style home in Shadyside, which gives it a unique and cozy feel that adds to the overall experience. Even the front desk staff (I believe her name was Laura) was so welcoming and friendly. Everyone I interacted with made me feel right at home. I originally came in because I had a gift card, but after such a great experience, I will definitely be returning for future massages and facials. Highly recommend! read more

Stopped in for a facial treatment for the first time. Couldn't even tell you how many times I drove by and didn't even realize it was there! Right in the middle of a busy business district, but also tucked away and quiet! The waiting area was cute, looks to be an old house turned into a spa. The reception was friendly and Olga, the esthetician, greeted me shortly after for an on time appointment. The facial was great! I felt like all my concerns were addressed and I left feeling relaxed with glowing skin. I would return! read more

Evolve is my favorite massage spot around! I've been going for years. The ambiance is always calm and relaxing. Every person there has always been professional and experienced. I like that I can book on their website too! read more

DO NOT COME HERE!! If I could leave zero stars, I would. I got a massage from Evolve and the woman talked to me about how I need to come back and get more frequent massages SIX TIMES during my session. I just wanted to have a silent relaxing massage but all she did was try to upsell and it took me out of the present moment. Not relaxing at all I was so annoyed. read more

I had a wonderful eyebrow makeover with Raina. This service included waxing, tinting, and tweezing if necessary. Raina was super friendly but calming and explained everything. She even walked me through other services that I was interested in trying in the future. I can't wait to go back! The spa is in a repurposed three-story home so it has a lot of character and they've dressed it up very nicely. read more

This was exactly the massage I needed! I came in with a few specific problem areas, and Pony listened carefully and spent extra time on them. I walked out feeling lighter, completely refreshed, and so much better than when I walked in. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! read more

Go see Olga for all of your skin needs! She is patient and creates a welcoming environment. She is truly a master of her craft and has a loyal customer in me moving forward. Can't recommend her enough! It's easily to schedule and appointment online. Heads up that you'll want to bring cash for a tip. They do not receive tips any other way. read more

I have come here several times over the years, most recently last weekend when my husband bought me a spa package that included a massage and facial. My massage with Eli was great, he made sure I was comfortable and I felt very relaxed during and after. He then directed me to a comfortable waiting area until Shelby came to get me for my facial. Shelby's room was so relaxing and she quickly got me set up and explained what she had planned before checking my skin to confirm the treatment. I nearly fell asleep during the facial as it was so relaxing, I felt like I was melting into the table. This experience aligns with the others I've had here - always a high quality experience. The only tricky part is parking, which can be difficult especially on weekends and evenings. read more

I always love going to this spa, treatments are always consistent and the therapists are willing to work with your body in the manner that it needs. Took my mom and sister here for Christmas massages today and everyone was raving about how great they feel going into the holiday! Can't wait to come back read more

Got the rejuvenation facial (50 minutes) with Shelby and it was one of the best experiences I've had in Pittsburgh at a spa! My facial was done by Shelby and she was so welcoming! Shelby was super attentive to my skins needs - especially with the heat from this summer - and used products that I could easily implement into my everyday skin care routine. There was double cleansing, exfoliation, she included a brightening serum and mask to my treatment, and a head and shoulders massage. Overall so so so relaxing and I'm so grateful I decided to come here. I even ended up buying the pumpkin spice toner Shelby used during my treatment because I loved it so much! read more

I am not one to leave reviews, but I was blown away by my service! I had never been to a spa or gotten a facial, and Juli made the process so relaxing! She made sure I was comfortable, let me know what to expect, and checked in with me throughout. The ambiance was relaxing, products smelled AMAZING, and I left feeling great. Will definitely come back soon! read more

I recently had a 90-minute massage with Leslie. The salon was clean, temperature checks are taken and I never interacted with anyone besides the front desk clerk and my masseuse. I also wore a mask the entirety of my visit. I never realized how much stress and tension I hold in my neck and shoulders-- I felt free from that tension for the first time in months, thanks to Leslie. She recommended a stretching routine and use of a foam roller to help with this in the future. I was quite sore the following day, but in a good way. Prices were reasonable and I'd definitely return. The only downside is parking-- allow yourself enough time to find a spot before your appointment. read more

I went in for a 60 minute deep tissue massage today. I arrived early for my appointment since it was my first time there. When I got there, there was no receptionist for the first five or ten minutes. When she came out, the only greeting I got was "what's your first name?" After that I waited in uncomfortable silence for my appointment time. The time came, then passed. Ivory wasn't super late; just five minutes. No biggie. We went back, I undressed, and by the time the massage started it was ten minutes past my massage time. This is no big deal, but I did note the time hoping that even though the appointment started late, I'd still get the full sixty minutes. I did not. The appointment ended exactly on time, so I got a fifty minute massage but paid for an hour. I know that in an ideal world the customer would say something right then and there, but I just didn't feel comfortable voicing the issue. The massage itself was decent. Not bad, but not great. More emphasis on my arms and wrists than I needed (especially when my issue was my neck), but it wasn't unpleasant. Ivory seemed nice. Little nit-picky things: the room was kind of cold and the overhead lighting was a little jarring when I turned onto my back on the table. The building is very pretty though! I wish tips could be paid on the card, but they only take cash tips, so be prepared. read more

I had a 90-minute prenatal massage with Pony, and she was absolutely incredible. I am 29 weeks and came in specifically for lower back pain. Not only did she relieve so so so much of that tension I've been carrying around for weeks, but she took the time to answer my questions and explain how the trigger points and tightness in my glutes could be leading to that referred pain in my lower back and showed me some stretches to help stretch my glutes at home. She was professional, attentive, and such a joy to spend 90 minutes with. Will definitely be returning for a follow up with Pony! Could not recommend more highly. read more

BEWARE! I have previously had great massage were. However, my recent experience was anything but that. I was unable to make a massage due to inclement whether and they refused to move my massage to another date, and still charged me for the full massage. That's right, they charged me $110 even though I physically couldn't get to the location due to snow! Imagine a spa asking you to physically put your life at risk for a massage. Absurd. The woman I spoke with refused to help me, refused to budge from their policy (that doesn't even address inclement weather), and was rude. Horrible Customer Service! This place has gone downhill. There are lots of other options for massages in Pittsburgh, I recommend selecting somewhere else. read more

Absolutely loved my visit to Evolve Wellness Spa. The spa is gorgeous and welcoming. Such a cozy vibe while waiting for my appointment. I received a 90 minute aroma therapy massage and it was much needed. My therapist pointed out spots on my body that were tight and where I hold tension in my body. I felt energized and extremely relaxed after my appointment. I can't wait to come back!! read more

Very pretentious vibes. Not very good service or communication. Went in because of a gift card. I will explore other evolve spas in hopes the workers actually care about working but, I will pass on this location. read more

This was my second time going to Evolve. I got a massage many years ago at Evolve; it was so so. I got a gift certificate from a friend and of course went back. I got a massage and facial the serenity package. It was perfect ! I had Brooke for the massage and I had Gabbie for the facial. I will definitely be back. I felt so relaxed after leaving; honestly I didn't want to leave !! read more

My partner took us here for couples massages on my birthday, and it was the most relaxing gift ever! We waited in the lobby for a few minutes filling out paperwork and drinking complimentary cucumber water to keep us hydrated. Then, we were taken upstairs to a private room for undressing. The space almost feels like it was once a house before Highland was zoned as commercial. Our masseuses came in at the same time and went to work. My partner went to sleep, I almost did--everything was so relaxing from the massage to the music to the lighting. The room and table were clean. The services are expensive but well worth it! read more

I booked a facial at Evolve and absolutely loved my experience. The spa itself was very cozy and the vibe was very calm. Everyone I interacted with was friendly and professional. The aesthetician took her time and at no point did I feel like I was being rushed or treated as just another appointment. She took the time to talk to me about my skin concerns and directed the facial around them. I left feeling so relaxed and like I made the best decision when booking my appointment at Evolve. I even received comments about how well my skin looked afterwards. I will definitely be visiting Evolve again in the future. read more

I'm mad at myself that it took me so long to review Evolve. Today was my third time here and I am absolutely hooked on this spa! I'm so happy my friends recommended I give them a try. The 3 times I have been here I have gotten the Rhonda Allison Rejuvenating Facial with Gabrielle. This includes cleansing, steam, masks/exfoliation plus massage & ice therapy. I had never had ice therapy and wow it's incredible. I also get extractions which Gabrielle always double checks that you wants them before providing the service. When I leave (and the days following) I am GLOWING. Seriously, I do not know how Gabrielle does it but my skin looks perfect after going. She is professional, sweet, easy to talk to and knowledgeable. I felt so comfortable right away. The salon itself is super relaxing. The vibe is everything and the front desk staff is always helpful and kind. I also find the prices to be super l reasonable. Don't forget some fruit spa water on your way out! read more

Leslie R. is that rare person who has the perfect combination of technique and calming energy for deep tissue massage. She not only relaxed my body and mind, but also rejuvenated my spirit with her nurturing bedside manner. I've never considered myself a massage person because my mind would wander and my body would still be tense. Leslie made me a believer in just one session. I now see how holistically healing massage can be when you're in the right hands. She's that talented, genuine, and emotionally intelligent! Not only will I be back to see her as a regular client despite living out of state, but I now know what gift I can ask my loved ones to get me. Thank you, Leslie! read more

I love Evolve!! The staff is so nice and friendly. Their customer service is great! It is very easy to book online also--the site lists all their services, therapist options, etc. Their space is welcoming and calming as well. I always leave here feeling so relaxed. I would highly recommend booking a service here! read more

First time at Evolve for a little rest and relaxation. I started with a Chakra Balancing Massage with Leslie. I had heard that it can be deeply healing for anxiety, depression, and trauma, but it's a newer service and I wasn't sure what to expect going in. Leslie was great and explained what she would be doing during the session. Even though for most of the session her hands weren't actually on me, I could feel what she was doing and my body responded. Afterwards, Leslie explained what she worked on and offered I left feeling calm and lighter. Definitely will be back for this service and to explore others! read more

I dropped in October 2020 after living with upper back/shoulder/occipital neck pain for the past several years, and was 1) very impressed with the professionalism in maintaining appropriate hygiene and ensuring customer confidence in their cleanliness amidst COVID 2) addressing my pain and 3) making me feel pampered :-D. This is my first massage experience and really set a high bar. Needless to say, from walking in to meeting the masseuse, everything was very seamless. The ambience was soothing and relaxing, and my masseuse greeted me and escorted me to my room. Lighting , temperature, and comforting background music were all gucci. My masseuse was very respectful and walked me through what to expect. I scheduled an hour-long full body deep tissue massage, and it was so well worth it! I imagine the experience would be different depending on the masseuse so I will just leave a plug for Heather K - she is fantastic! Following my session, I greatly appreciate that I can directly tip the masseuse. I was so impressed with the experience I recommended a friend - it's definitely worth it to treat yo self at Evolve! read more

This review is long overdue, but I wanted to share praises for both Evolve and, specifically, for Leslie R. Evolve does a great job of making their clients feel relaxed and welcome, and I've appreciated their dedication to cleanliness as well as the safety of their staff and customers, even through the pandemic. It has always felt like a safe space, which adds a different level of relaxation. As for Leslie, I will try to keep this short so people will actually read it, but she is an extremely kind and caring person, willing to share her calming energy, and she goes out of her way to make her clients feel at-ease. I have extreme anxiety at times, but Leslie worked with me to calm my nerves, eased me out of the anxiety back into reality, and helped me get to a place of mental and physical relief that I didn't think was possible at the time. She was very receptive to requests of muscles to focus on for my massage session in addition to discussing the oils/lotions in use to rule out allergies, and she worked out a great deal of tension in said muscles since I don't schedule sessions as often as I should! If you get a chance to work with Leslie, go book a session with her before I do - she is amazing! read more

I treated my sister with a Christmas gift to Evolve Spa and we spent the afternoon getting a spa package with a 60 minute relaxation massage and a 50 minute organic facial. WOW, we were both 100% satisfied with our experience and plan to come back. I would highly recommend Darius for a nice, relaxing massage. After my facial, my skin was ultra moisturized and felt brand new! i also want to give props to the receptionist for working with me and helping me change my first appointment. She was gracious and easy to work with. this might become a Post-Christmas tradition for us! read more

I was lucky enough to get a gift certificate for here for Christmas and finally got around to using it. I'd always wanted to come here after so many good reviews, but I don't live on this side of town, so I never made the time to come. Well, now I had this GC and no excuses, so I had to book a facial! I booked the Uplift Signature Facial because I like a little bit of everything in terms of facial, massages and a little hand treatment because it all feels so good! The facial itself was great. My face 100% felt fresh and revived after I left. The woman that worked on me was super nice in the entire process too. Why the three star review? I felt like I was missing something once I read back on the online description of the facial. I booked it specifically because I love having light head, shoulder and hand massages. I never received a hand treatment, which I realized after the fact. I had a mask that had to set for 20 minutes and she asked if I wanted her to leave me alone or do a massage. I was excited to have a massage. She very very lightly rubbed around my shoulders. I don't at all want a rough massage (I don't even like that kind), but I really don't know if I'd describe it as a massage. I have to come back and spend the rest of my gift certificate, so I will definitely make sure I go over the services before I actually get them done next time. read more

I came here with my fiance and was extremely impressed with the service and ambiance. This is my favorite spa in Pittsburgh. I've been fortunate to have had massages from Heather, Leslie, and Matt! They are all so talented, personable, and great at alleviating tension in my neck and shoulders. The spa is also in a charming Victorian house, divided into cozy rooms. Super nice receptionists, and if you're looking for a facial, Olga is amazing! If I could, I'd visit for a massage or facial every week :) read more

I got a 60 minute deep tissue massage from Leslie and she was absolutely phenomenal. I appreciated that she was able to feel my body and know exactly where my problem areas were and how to fix them. Fantastic service and very comfortable rooms. Really enjoyed this place and will return for sure

I had never thought much about getting massages until Evolve was recommended to me by a colleague. I decided to book a lavender lush massage, and I'm so happy I did! Leslie was a great massage therapist. She was attentive to the areas of stress I told her about and she checked in to ensure the pressure was good. I left feeling so much better than when I arrived. They took appropriate precautions due to COVID. When you arrive, you have to call to let them know you are there and someone will let you inside so long as there are not too many people in the waiting room. Masks are required while inside and during massages. All employees had masks on as well. The lady who let me in was so friendly and accommodating while I waited for Leslie. I arrived about 10 mins early and did not have to wait long. The ambiance of the spa was relaxing. It was well decorated, quiet, and had soft music playing in the background. I am going to try to book massages here more often. It is well worth it! read more

I had a wonderful massage at Evolve this afternoon! From the moment I walked in the staff was friendly & even made small talk while I waited for the massage therapist.
