Very friendly front host staff. Was knowledgeable of different service offered currently and coming in the future. I booked a 60-minute deep tissue with Thomas. He was very warm and inviting from the moment I arrived. Before my appointment, he took the time to review my intake forms and knew areas of concern and what I was looking for with my massage. We discussed my frequent running and tight legs, and he designed a massage specifically targeting my areas of concern. I left not feeling bruised or sore like other deep tissue massages I've had in the past. The manipulation was firm, but also involving limb movement to get into the fascia more deeply. I apologize for this lengthy review! have been a customer of this business dozens of times for years, and I will attempt to summarize all of my visits into one review. Body By Design offers many modalities of massage, including Swedish (for relaxation), deep tissue (for muscle knots), trigger point (for tightly contracted muscle fibers and pain), lymphatic (for reducing swelling and edema and supporting the immune system), sports (for athletes), prenatal (for pregnant women), reflexology (no medical diagnoses but a good foot massage), bamboo (for ironing out muscle knots), hot stone (heat for stretching muscles), lomi lomi (which is Hawaiian and is relaxing just like Swedish but uses longer, faster strokes), shiatsu (acupressure and some stretching to restore energy flow and relieve tight muscles), Thai (lots of stretching and compression), etcetera. If you schedule a 1.5-hour or 2-hour massage, then you will have more time to combine multiple modalities into one massage. The business also offers reiki (a gentle touching or hovering of hands for emotional and physical wellbeing), DermoNeuroModulation (which stretches the skin, stimulates nerves, and improves movement), and Ortho-Bionomy (which gently realigns muscles, bones, and fascia to improve posture, heal physical injuries, and relieve stress). i was given a online gift card and was trying to schedule an appointment and could not do so. therefore, i called them and told the receptionist that i was having a hard time scheduling an appointment unless i gave them my credit card. i explained that my gift card is valid and why would i need to provide my credit card. her answer was policy which i responded"no problem can i just have the individual that purchased the online gift card call you to get a full refund" her answer was yes. so i contacted the person who purchased the online gift card so that she can get her refund. guess what? the receptionist said the owner will not allow it. poor customer service and limited hours for some relaxation i give this place 2 thumbs down read more

Where do I start here. The people here are so nice. I've had a massage by 2 of the people that work there. 1 is the owner, Heather, she is amazing. The other is Sugar, and she is my regular massage therapist. She is also amazing. I normally go every 2 weeks for a 2 hour massage, and if it wasn't working or worth it, I wouldn't go. Trust me, this is my favorite, and it's really only pampering I do for myself. We spoke many times and she was available, so kind and helpful. Kara (my therapist): Took me in as a complete stress case and worked MT magic to restore me. She was a healer through and through and I was so bummed when our month was over. I first came to Heather several years ago when I was in a lot of pain due to lower back spasms. She did such a great job that I came back the next time and the next until I realized that perhaps my lifestyle needed a regular massage. I play lots of sports and tend to beat myself up. Heathers style, at least on me, is deep tissue and therapeutic. Exactly what I need. I know that she/they offer all types of massages including the hot stones, etc. The studio is very relaxed, clean, private and you will always feel comfortable. Her fee is reasonable especially for the quality and the fact that she is personable and a kind, caring person. Recently Heather took a leave of absence but made sure I was seen by another employee. I got a deep tissue massage with Hayley a few days ago. She was very conscious about my shoulder/neck area which I told her was the area that tended to bother me most. She asked if I preferred she focus on that area and upper body, or do a whole body massage. I opted for the full body. The heated massage table was a huge plus, and Hayley was very good at deep tissue without being too harsh or painful. She explained to me how to keep the results from the massage for the longest time by drinking water and stretching that evening. I also met Heather that day who offered to schedule me a next appointment (10% off if it's within a month, 20% off if it's within two weeks) but unfortunately I am moving out of the area so I couldn't take them up on the deal. Body by Design is a great place to have a massage. From the moment I walked in the door it was a very inviting and comfortable and I was greeted by Heather (the owner)in a very warm manner which was comforting right from the start. It was time for my massage and Heather made sure temperature in the room was right, sound (music) was at a soothing level, and that I was ready. She asked me where I had the most pain or discomfort and she went to work on that area and then the rest of my body. WOW!! Heather was excellent, the massage made me feel new again and I never knew I had any pain, she worked all the kinks and knots out. When I was done I was so relaxed I did not want to get off the table. I never had an issue with scheduling, rescheduling, and they are very flexable. I was able to get an appointment within a day which was perfect timing. I have a nagging hamstring injury and needed a sports massage for pre-5k run (so i didn't have to bail with the pain). I recently moved here from out of state; my mother is a massage therapist and my father is a chiropractor. I was hurting one day and was getting a headache from the tension in my neck and shoulders. I decided to first try a chiropractor here in town as I felt like my neck and back might be out of place. It was one of the worst experiences ever and I left his office feeling even worse than when I went in. I was worried about trying to find a massage therapist. But I decided to call Heather (I was referred to her by a friend) and she was able to fit me in that same day! THEY MADE MY KIDS CRY!!!!! My 2 children received a 30 minute massage certificate for receiving good grades on their report card. I called to schedule their massage. It was a month - month in a half wait. My kids mention their massage at least once a week in excitement and anticipation. THE DAY OF THE APPOINTMENT, I receive an email from Heather W. ( the owner apparently) that states -my sons appt has been moved up earlier in the day, then another email that he was moved back to his original time and one more about moving him again. Soon I received an email stating our appts were cancelled altogether. If you have kids you understand how they reacted. I never heard the end of it. Disappointed and upset are just a few words I could come up with. What was supposed to be a positive reward for hard work turned out to be a disappointed memory and event. Needless to say, I was not happy and did not want to return. As a mom I cannot let this happen again. I called and Heather( the owner) answered, I explained what had happened and politely asked for my money back. I was not a happy customer and wanted my $60 returned to go somewhere else for a massage or maybe buy them a videogame or other toy they may want for working hard in school. She would not give me my money back. She stated they have another massage therapist there and I could get in tonight if I wanted. Honestly not ONCE did she apologize. Not once. They require 24 hour notice to cancel appt. They cancelled me the day of!!! Maybe if we were different clientele things would of went differently. Long story short.
