I showed up at 1:35 and both workers were still with a customer which was fine , I was taken 5 mins later . We discussed over the phone what I needed as well as in person when I arrived . I needed a gel pedicure and an acrylic fill in . The guy in charge said he would be able to do that no problem . I started with the pedicure first and was initially pleased at how thorough he seemed . Once polishing began it took a turn for the worst . It was like a child coloring outside the lines , polish was everywhere all over my skin ! He said he would fix it and even tried to do some nails over but they were still really bad . After he proceeded to poorly clean the pedicure tools which was horrifying and I hope I do not get some kind of fungus . In any case I just settled for what I got and wanted to proceed to do my acrylic fill in . I needed something basic with no manicure so no metal tools would be needed . While I was doing my toes he assured me he had the acrylic I needed and also the nail type I needed and he took a look at my nails . Once he saw I was dissatisfied with my pedicure he proceeded to tell me he could no longer accommodate me because the salon was so busy . Mind you there was only one person in the salon . I pointed out that I had made an appointment and told them what services I needed and they agreed . He then proceeded to tell me he didn't have the nail type (tips) I needed when just 10 minutes before he told me he did . When I brought that information to his attention he said my nails were too long and he wasn't comfortable doing long nails . There was excuse after excuse because I spoke up about my pedicure . I was very inconvenienced and charged $40 for this horrible service and bad customer service . AVOID if you can there are some better and CLEANER places in linden which isn't very far if you're in Rahway .

On my first visit I was impressed with the decor and staff seems friendly and a large amount of nail colors! She is very meticulous and always pleasant. Even with the differences from the old salon I was pleased until the nail polish chipped off in a week and had to remove the polish! This had never happened before so I took pictures to show her. On my next appointment 2 weeks later I showed the pictures and she said I should have told her and she would've fixed it!!! This next appointment Isabella had a new top coat for me to use and was much better to keep the polish from chipping! I've gotten many compliments on my nails this time! The only downside of this salon is the cost of a regular manicure at $30 I feel is overpriced from the last salon I was at and paying $10 more. If I wanted to get a french or any designs they charge much more on top of the $30. So I'll stick with just a regular manicure for now.

Pedicure: Mint $40 + I have to give a special shout-out to Amy! Her attention to detail is amazing. She did my pedicure weeks ago, and I was genuinely surprised when she remembered me on my return visit - despite me having completely forgotten hers! That kind of personal recognition truly sets her apart. And, as always, the pedicure itself was expertly done. Though my eyebrows turned out alright, the service was subpar. The older gentleman who performed the waxing had a very gruff demeanor from the start. He entered the room and simply told me to lie down, neglecting to pull down a clean sheet of tissue paper for the headrest - it was visibly crumpled from a prior use. Worse, I detected a strong cigarette odor when he began applying the wax. After I mentioned it, he offered a half-hearted "sorry" but made no effort to wash his hands before continuing. I am attaching a photo of what I asked for and what I ended up getting. I feel that the photo I asked for was very elegant, and I feel that the result of what I got looked like a toddler did it. I've been here a number of times and have been fairly satisfied with the results although the technician that does my nails frequently catches an attitude, especially if you ask her to adjust something. She had said in the past that she's the professional and doesn't want anyone telling her how to do her job. She doesn't take feedback well at all. She had criticisms about the way that I was positioning my chair which was to turn it sideways each time She was doing one of my hands so that I could sit in a position that didn't hurt my back- not a big deal In my opinion. I wasn't switching back-and-forth between each nail. I was positioning myself when she was doing the beginning of the manicure, which was the cleaning and filing of each hand. When it got time to do the designs, I asked her if she can do the black design the way that it was in the photo which is to say the black French tips- some of them are curved, and some of them were pointed, and she did all of them pointed and very thin. This was after sitting in the chair for over two hours- she went to wipe all of the design off and I asked her not to do that. She said she didn't have time to do my designs and that I would have to leave with my nails plain. I told her that my time is valuable as well, and I had already sat there for two hours while she worked on a design that she obviously did not know how to do and from the looks of it did not make a very valiant effort. She said she can't copy the design 100%. I said I'm not asking for 100%. I'm just asking for the black French part to be a larger part of the nail as it is in the picture. I had to literally stop her from wiping everything off, and then she redid the tips which looked better than they did originally but still awful. The end of the manicure was tense. I did not appreciate that she did not respect my time and had me sitting there for over two hours and her resolution to it was to send me off with something that I did not ask for which was a plain manicure. I cut my losses and let her finish. She charged me $85 for this manicure which in my opinion she clearly overcharged. I will absolutely not be going back again. She is stressful to work with has an attitude and talks poorly about other people that have worked there. I don't mind paying extra for quality service, but this, like many nail salons, does not pass the vibe check after the first few appointments. If a person cannot do a design, then they should just say so not be annoyed with the customer because they have to do extra work. Charge me extra money if it's extra work, but I think it's reasonable to get what you're asking for when you go to get your nails done which is essentially a luxury service. The manicures I request are very intricate and I understand that but as a nail technician that is literally your job. If you can't do it, just say that you can't do it, but don't have someone sitting in your chair for over two hours only to attempt to send them home. I don't appreciate attitude and I don't appreciate my time being wasted. I also don't appreciate subpar results. I will continue looking for a better nail salon, where there is no attitude. I popped in without an appointment and had a really wonderful pedicure with Lisa!…read more She took her time, helped me pick between two nearly identical reds (we've all been there) and gave me a great foot/leg massage and pedi. The salon is new, beautiful and impeccably clean. I chatted with Lisa and the owner throughout my pedicure and learned about how much attention and thought goes into nearly every detail of La Muse. They have a whole line of organic gels that are apparently not damaging to nail beds (Eek! The dream!!) and they were so excited to share that with me after I mentioned totally giving up on gels. On top of a great pedi, Lisa was so wonderful to talk to and the massage chair was just too perfect. After a busy and slightly stressful work day, this was all just such a wonderful treat. For their standard pedicure, it was $35, they also do mini pedis for $25. It's a bit pricier than what I typically pay, but you are paying for the quality. I can't wait to come back!
