But it's true - you get what you pay for...I've been here three times and quality is terrible. Not sure if I'll be coming back to this salon. I will say that we were seated as soon as we came in without an appointment. We decided to check this place out since the reviews were relatively high. Once seated for a pedicure, I asked multiple time what types of pedicures were available and was told that there was only one, a spa. My friend sitting next to me was asked by her technician which pedicure she wanted, so I was lost from then on. I asked again and then she just smiled. On to my nails, the lady worked fast which I liked, but once my nails were done there were streaks underneath that you could see, so I asked for them to be repaired, I asked the lady at the front who then relayed the information to the nail tech, when I sat back down she asked me whats wrong with the nails so I had to ask again for the lady at the front to explain. The technician then decided to use the machine and file my nails down again to the point I was burned. I eventually just stopped her and asked her to just put the gel coat on. All of me wanted to ask for my money back. Two stars for speedy service and good prices. read more

This place is your typical nail salon, nothing above and beyond. I made an appointment prior to showing up since ten is the maximum allowable person limit. When I arrived I had my mask on and was asked to wash my hands. Every other pedi station was being used, and a plastic contraption was put in between myself and the technician. I had the regular pedi, which included a nice 5 min massage on each leg and a hot towel. read more

Meh. If you want to get a regular mani/pedi this place is good. However if you want to get designs, this place isn't for you. Every time I ask for a design everyone panics; their work isn't clean. I get bounced around with technicians for a design. One time I got a simple heart design for Valentine's and it peeled off the next day. I told the front desk about it today and she said I should have came back, I live 30 min away and it's not easy for me to go back. Unfortunately, I don't think this place is for me. After a long day that included lots of brisk walking at three parks including Harbor Fest at Town Point Park, these dogs needed some relief! My cousin Kim P. (fellow Yelper) and I decided to stop by Nails Plus to get a much needed pedicure. When we entered the salon, we were immediately greeted with a smile and asked which services we'd like and were asked to choose a color. After much deliberation over which Spring color to pick, we were ushered to the rear of the salon for our pedicures. I received services from Juan (I'm sure I may have his name misspelled), who kindly accepted my requests for hotter water and even emptied and re-filled the tub when the water became lukewarm. I really appreciated that because I prefer my water to remain hot. At some nail salons, they'll make you sit and soak for long periods while they service others... thankfully, I've never experienced this here. Each time I come here, they remain with you and complete your pedicure in a thorough, timely fashion. Juan's massage was pleasant and relaxing. He did not skimp on anything. He was professional and attentive. This salon has reasonable prices and friendly service. I've never had to wait to be served here. It's immaculate and it is clearly obvious that the staff take plenty of care to sanitize their tools and stations. This is also a great place to get a clean wax job. Expect to be greeted with a smile when you enter this place. Everyone is friendly and ready to serve. This is not a high-end salon. This type of salon is similar in size and service options to many of the other nail salons in the area, however, what makes this place different is their level of attentiveness and professionalism. read more

I came here at the last minute the morning of my engagement photos after realizing I neglected to get my nails done for it. They had openings, so my fiancé and I were able to get manicures right away. I have to say I wasn't super impressed. My fiancé was a little put off by the experience as well. When we came in, my fiancé was a little uncomfortable with the fact that they didn't seat us together. This was his first time getting a manicure, and he only did it at my request for the pictures. I felt bad for putting him through all that. It also wasn't quite the experience he was expecting. He didn't feel as though his hands felt any different afterwards. My experience wasn't too stellar either. The polish was good enough, but after looking at the pictures, I wished it would have looked a little bit better for my engagement pictures. I don't know that I'll be coming back here again. And I know my fiancé felt too uncomfortable to go back. He would do it again--just not at this salon. read more

Wonderful place. I have tried so many salons in the Chesapeake area, and this location is by far my favorite. They greet you when you walk in (and really shouldn't they all do this?) In my opinion they don't rush the process of the pedicure and give your feet the attention you need. I have found that the women pedicurist will "upsell" i.e. ask you for a deluxe spa pedicure, add a manicure etc. where the men pedicurist will just give you what you ask for. I don't mind either as I don't have a problem saying no if I don't want the service. All of the stations are clean and they use fresh products on every customer. When I was there in the past and told her it was first time coming she gave me a small pedicure set to go, that's what sealed the deal for me. read more

I had gel nails done here, and it seems as if they did a great job....but it did not! The polish started peeling off on the 7th day (exactly 1week). I've never had that happened to me because gel nails supposed to last longer. And the guy that was doing my nail only said yes or no whenever i asked him something....he was not people friendly. I had an amazing time here! I live a couple minutes down the road, so I decided to try it. I went in at about 6:30 on a Wednesday night. I asked for a pedicure, and all the technicians were busy, so they filled a basin and put me in the chair to soak. Let me tell you, this never bothers me. The water was hot, the jets were strong, and I loved the time to just sit and relax. I didn't catch the technician's name, but she was awesome. She didn't mind that my feet jerked a little because I was ticklish, and she joked with me about my small feet. She did a great job on some ingrown toenail issues (TMI, I know, but important to us gals who struggle with it). She also took some extra time with the calf massage because I was so tense. After such an awesome experience, I was surprised it was only $25! I will definitely be going back, and I think I'm going to try some of the more deluxe packages. read more

I have been visiting this salon for over 3 years. It is a very clean and nice business. It is one of my favorite places to go and relax. I recommend that you know what you want when you enter (ie: pedicure, manicure, brows, etc.) because this will allow your time to move faster. The prices are reasonable. My favorite persons are the owner, Micheal, and the lady that sits beside the owner of the shop (I can not remember her name). The young guy is good too, but I don't see him often enough. If you do not like your nails, they will do them over or correct what is incorrect. I enjoy this place because it is clean and the staff attempt to make everyone happy and relaxed. I have brought several friends to this establishment and they continue to visit without me present. I am not saying everyone's visit will be miraculous, but compared to other nail salons I have visited, this one is the best. My number one pick. read more

First I will start with, the décor is very nice and inviting. I have been a biweekly customer for 3 years. Ms. Ann was my nail Technician and an awesome person that I will give 5 stars everytime! She is detailed, provides great customer service and is just a wonderful person. However, Anna (proprietor) is rude and has changed my entire outlook on this business. No paying customer should endure being yelled at about an incorrect time for an appointment upon walking through the door unsuspecting this was an issue. That is not how you run a business even on a bad day. I have seen her be a bit testy to customers, however, this was beyond uncalled for.......Nails Plus has lost a customer and any reference to become one. If Ms. Ann moves to another nail shop I would become her client again! read more

This was my first time at this location and I expected a lot more considering I had gotten my nails done the same way at their other location and they looked amazing and lasted weeks. I got gel French tip nails and after only a few days, they started chipping. I'm at point where I just want them off now. So I normally don't leave reviews but I felt the need to save people their money. This place was awful. The manager was nice but so did not makeup for the job done. I asked for a new full set and she kept telling me I just needed a filling. My nails I had were peeling off and clearly needed to be resolved but she was determined so I decided to just let her try. She didn't even take off all of the pieces that were already coming off. She hit my finger with the tool several times. She caked the acrylic on and it's shaped awful. When she first did it some of them were coffin shaped and some of them were squared. I asked her to redo them and the manager walked over and shaped them for me. Since it's caked on and not ground down correctly they already look like crap. The edges have grown out a tiny bit and they keep snagging stuff. This is only the second day. Then when it got down to the color they didn't have the color I wanted. I kept showing her around what I wanted and she kept bringing me stuff that didnt even resemble what I had shown her. I ended up with a awful color because at that point I was just ready to leave. There was pieces of the nail polish sticking up on my nails and she just clipped it off. DO NOT GO HERE. Stopped by Nails Plus for the first time to make an appointment based on reviews I had seen on other sites and it's close to my office. I showed the lady at the front desk what design I was looking for and asked the cost for both a traditional manicure/ pedicure using shellac (for both my finger & toe nails). She looked at the photo and said yes she could do that and give me a price. The day of my appointment I was set up with a tech that seemed to be sweet, but could not speak any English so the original lady that had made my appointment was telling her what I wanted. I showed them both again the picture and they said yes no problem, but with the shellac on both my finger and toe nails it would be 10 more dollars then what the price was that she had originally told me. I reminded her what she had told 2 days before and she said she didn't know I wanted it on my feet. I agreed to the 10 extra dollars because I needed the shellac on both. However I watched her write it in their appointment book for a mani/pedi with shellac. They did a total of four designs one on one finger one each hand and one on each of my big toes. Once I go to leave and pay it was 25 more dollars then what she told me it would be when I made the appointment and 15 more from the time they started my pedicure to when they finished. She said it was because of them using the shellac and the total of 4 designs they did. I was very upset and floored at the fact that she kept going up on my price after asking a number of times about the design and the shellac, but did not want to cause a scene so I paid for it.
