Aside from the tools used not looking like they were coming from a clean sterile place....take a good look at your nails before you leave. When I went home and put my glasses on I couldn't believe my French manicure. The lines all squiggly as if a Kid painted them. Then to make matters worse, within three hours the gel polish started peeling off not one nail, but several. The next morning my skin on my fingers looked the worse they have ever looked. What the??? Terrible. I went back today to talk to the manager and she showed me the "no refunds" sign posted on the side of the counter, where paying customers cannot see it. The manager offered to fix my nails, but no refund even though I don't have time to get my nails redone. No thank you. I will go back to Joy Nails, where everything is clean, tools come out of a sterilizer, and it even costs less. My nails never look like this. They even out competed their next door neighbor, the other nail salon, it isn't there anymore. Price is reasonable 25 dollars for simple gel. We got seated in message chairs and the ladies proceeded to do our nails awkwardly in these chairs. The ladies were so sweet and nice! But the quality of the gel wasn't great I'm at a week and a half and my gel it lifting up already. Also the colors on the samples aren't close to the color they put on your nail. Thought I was going to get a deep red and got more of a candy red. Same happened to my friend she thought she was getting a dark grey and got more of a really light grey. I started coming here when it was first Sheila's nails way way back in the day. Then they moved over a few doors to Nail nail nail. I'm giving a 2 because there are only a couple of people I want any service from Louie or Jimmy. I had to stop going because if I didn't get them my gel nails just didn't last for more than a week. It was just ridiculous so I moved on and started going to TJ nails in La Habra, where my nails will last for weeks like they should. But, I needed my nails done last Saturday (6 days ago) so I went. Between my daughter and I it was 145 including tip. Today, Friday both our gel started to lift. It was getting stuck in my hair so I just started to peel it off. Came off like a sticker. Just terrible. Each and every one just peeled right off. On top of that, I had to keep telling the girl to cut my cuticles and it was as if she didn't know what she was doing. I don't know what's going on here lately but their products and service has just gone down. I got two things done here: GEL nail & eyelashes extensions. Short review: gel nail is cheap; $23 for manicure. Eyelash extension = painful Long review: I have gone to different nail salons and this one is clean and friendly. They have a variety of colors to pick from. The wait was not long. They have a lot of staff. The lady that was sitting next to me was getting her gel nail done by a guy. It looked beautiful and she also had gem which she stated was $2 extra. The staff did not have loud or conversion with each other for long. They kept talking to the customers. I love my gel nail. I saw the sign for eyelashes extension. I have been wanting to try it for the longest time. It was $20 for the extension. They have short, medium, and long lashes. The lady that did my nails also did my lashes. She told me to get the medium. Next thing she told me if i wanted to get my lashes done on the chair (??????!) or in the back room. I told her back room. Mind that I have gone to IMATS and seen how other salons do eyelashes extension. You are suppose to lay down!! So we proceeded to the back room. I saw the table to lay down BUT the lady said to sit on the chair (WTF). So she take out her stuff. She put on the white patch under my lower lashes to prevent the glue from sticking to the lower part of my lashes but she put it to close to my eyeball. It practically kept my eyes from shutting. Next thing she tells me was to keep my eyes open! How do you keep them open when someone is jamming a lash underneath your own lashes?? The whole process was really stupid. "Keep your eyes open honey". We are suppose to lay down and have our eyes close! Also she kept yanking on my eyelids and eventually another lady came and help her hold my eyelid (-_-). Eventually, she told me to close my eyes. My eyes were getting teary and the glue was stinging my eyes. Plus my neck was being prop up and not leaning against the chair which made it more difficult for me. So later she finish. I looked at the mirror and see how she had done it. I see one lash placed a little high then the rest. I gave up. It looked fine. As long as if no one getting in my face to see that one lash. I felt she end up giving me wrinkles around my eyes instead. Also, a few hours later one of the lashes came off and poke me in the eyes. This is what I paid for. So this man was just criticizing my previous nail tech for her work-mind you I was going on three weeks without a fill so they were starting to lift. I've been here before but it's been years and I didn't have a problem with this place until now. I came in b/c I was in the area & needed a pedicure. I got Vivian. DON'T GET VIVIAN! I REPEAT...DO NOT GET VIVIAN! She did a HORRIBLE JOB! I've never had a pedicure take like less than 10 mins. Felt like she barely did anything but cut my nails, sold me the scrub for my heals (oh and BEWARE, she'll try to sell u on everything), a quick massage and then one coat of paint and then done. No care for my cuticle, barely any filing done, barely anytime soaking my feet, and one coat...COM'N MAN! Then as in sitting there with my feet up letting my nails dry, she goes underneath my legs to clean the tub. At least wait til I leave homie! Geez! And the towels she used looks dirty and I swear there were old nail clippings on there. SO GROSS! So here's the worst part. She did sell me on "scrub off the dead skin and have sea salt scrub on your legs...only $5 more". I get to the counter to pay, lady tells me it's $25! For a freakn crap job? No way. Just went in this morning and got a SPA pedicure ( they do have spa chairs). Lady who did my toes was nice, she did a good job, I would rate it 5 if I had not pointed out one toe was not filed straight. Color selection is great IMO, all nail technicians were friendly and were not yelling their own conversations across the salon in their native language like at other salons I've been to where they always seem to be yelling back and forth. I liked that my technician was not pushy for me to get designs or stones or to get a manicure as well. Place does NOT look run down like someone else said here and the do have spa chairs. I came here for a change in nail color since I only had 20 to 30 mins. Louis was available and as I was seated, I asked that I would like to have a pedicure but wasn't sure if 30mins was enough time. They're not paying attention, I don't understand why they would look away as they're cutting the area around your nail. How do they expect not to cut off a piece of your skin? The worst part of it all is that I don't they they sterile their tools after every customer. I didn't see her pulling her tools out of a plastic or anything that would show a sign that they are being cautions and sanitary. This is a real issue and should take note of this soon before they get a law suit on their hands! Louis always does a fantastic job! I recently started making appointments with him because he doesn't damage my nails when removing the gel. He doesn't use the round "sanding" machine at all. I've had gel on for about a year now. He's very nice, not too quiet but not talking your ear off either. So I feel like I should share my experience with this place to save your time/money/appendages/eyebrows.... Honestly, I grew up on a budget. Lived in Whittier all my life. Mom would always drop me off at this horrendous place whenever I asked to get my nails/eyebrows done (this is from age 12-15). This place where the workers were always rude and never helpful. After realizing one day after a pedicure that I got a toe infection, I never asked to get anything done again. Started (failed at) doing things myself from then on! I was too anxious to go anywhere else! Lol. Now I have janky eyebrows and an ugly scar on my big toe. Then several years pass. It's yesterday, I'm in the area and just need help gluing a false nail back on, and I remember this place. Guess I didn't learn my lesson. I make my way up to the desk and politely explain what happened with my nail then ask if someone could maybe glue it back on. Immediately, all eyes avert from me and they start heatedly talking to each other in their language so I can't understand? Then the guy at the desk points at one exasperated looking technician who's glaring back at him. As he worked on my nail he continued to talk back to the guy at the desk. Everyone's shaking their heads, sighing, rolling their eyes, smirking... Other workers stop just to stand around us and watch... There was a point that I stopped trying to improve the situation and just kept my eyes on the tv as he slapped my nail back on with glue (crookedly, should I mention). Finally he stops and starts to tell me that I don't have to pay/I'm done, but I was already on my way back with my group. Don't bring your kids. Horrible service. Go somewhere else.
