I was very disappointed with my recent visit. My gel pedicure lasted approximately 25 minutes, which is significantly shorter than what is the norm and would expect for a thorough service. The entire appointment felt rushed rather than relaxing. 1. Cuticle care was minimal, free-edge nail shaping was rough and painful even after kindly notifying her a couple of times. She didn't respond and ignored me completely. There was little exfoliation of the heels, making the service feel incomplete overall. 2. The establishment had only myself and my two daughters and no other clients, therefore I don't understand why a shorter service and a lower standard of care was provided? Unfortunately, the quality did not reflect the price paid. The lack of attention to detail was noticeable and so disappointing as this was not the same quality service from earlier years when newly opened. Maybe they already have a clientele and have no desire for new? Unfortunately due to this experience, I would not return. read more

Paul and Helen were so sweet and personable! We went for pedicures and they got us right in, took their time with the massage and did a great job. The prices are very competitive also. The decor was a bit outdated but it was very clean and had great chairs. We will definitely be back ! read more

Same day appointment with Paul for a pedicure. My feet were in bad shape but he got rid of my ingrown nails, dead skin, and softened my heels, legs and feet. My gel pedicure was $50 adding a $10 tip for the good job. I left with happy feet and will repeat this place. I just wished they used tub liners in the wash tubs for better sanitation. Nice pedicure chairs and nail stations in this business. read more

The lady cut my finger and didn't even apologize. When I told her she cut me, she gave me a look like "Really?" Her husband didn't even care either. They still demanded that I pay the full amount even though she injured me. DONT GO HERE!! read more

This nail salon is a convenient location for me since it's in the North Valley's area. I came here a few times for pedicures. If you want speed then this is a great place go get your mani/pedi during your lunch hour. It is also tidy. Unfortunately, I will not be returning as there was a miscommunication with scheduling. When I originally called to make a same-day appointment I was called in to work. I contacted them to reschedule for the next day. When I arrived the owner informed me that I actually missed my appointment and I was supposed to show up at 11:15am not 1:15pm. There was another customer behind me that mentioned she called a few minutes ago and it appeared to me, that we were double booked for the 1:15pm slot. It was confusing and I was willing to reschedule again but the owner seemed frustrated and informed me in front of all the other customers to not make an appointment if I'm not going to show up... ??? Trying to avoid any further awkwardness I said "ok" then left. Unfortunately they do not have a reliable scheduling system in place. The owner simply uses a notebook and pen for scheduling clients. There's no way to be notified and/or reminded of an upcoming appointment. The only confirmation is through the owner once scheduled over the phone. As a customer who was consistently booking and showing up promptly for every other appointment before that for over a year, it was disheartening to be turned away and to be told not to make an appointment again after one miscommunication - when in fact they are the ones who have a poor scheduling method. read more

My wife made the decision to try this place out and she is so glad she did! She stopped in earlier in the week to make an appointment to get a fill and the man was very friendly and she scheduled her appointment. When she arrived later in the week she was greeted by the same man who she learned was the owner along with his wife. He quickly got to work on her nails and in less than an hour she had a great french manicure with sparkles. She commented on how clean it was and appreciates the time and effort they take to create a clean, relaxing environment. The prices are competitive and she said she will definitely be going back for both her nails and pedicures. A great addition to golden valley!!! read more

I came here when I first moved to Reno and it was an amazing experience. The husband and wife duo really make this place very enjoyable. They are very friendly. I thought it was very clean and overall my pedicure was great. We will be going back for sure. Just make sure to call in advance, they tend to be very busy! read more

The lady that did my nails did horrible and she was super rough that it was painful never had I had such a horrible experience. Beware if you are looking to try this nail place out! not worth it at all. i was Charged $65 for this ugly and horrible service. You can see my real nail underneath! Looks awful. read more

This place is family owned and most times it is just the husband and wife just working. They're quick though and their work is good! They're very polite and know how to hold a good conversation. Because staffing is limited, I recommend calling in for an appointment. read more

We just moved to the area and I wanted to pamper myself for the day. This spot came up on a search and I decided to stop by to see if they do walk ins. I was in luck as it is just a husband and wife running the business and usually don't take walk ins but they had an opening. The husband was very kind and welcoming. Ive been wanting to try this salon for a while now. I went somewhere else in September that ruined my nails so after they healed I came here and I think I have found my new mani spot! I was greeted right away and both employees were very friendly. Right now they can only have 3 customers inside. Very clean and they are following all Covid protocols. Had some time without any responsibilities so I decided to stop in and see if I could get a gel manicure since my nails were naturally long and even. Helen did a beautiful job, asking if I'd like them shorten at all and what shaped I'd prefer. They had a large selection of gel colors and it was nice to see all tools cleaned and oiled immediately after use. The shop is quaint, clean, and welcoming. Definitely a small local business. They're still new to being business owners so I told them that they need to claim their business on Yelp and share more information. I will definitely be back. read more

Yelpers, come visit!! This place is relatively new and therefore needing business and reviews! It is owned by a husband and wife who have been working in nail salons for years. Their mother also helps out. Because they're new, the massage chairs work beautifully! Okay, some downsides. They're a tad slow, but that is also a benefit because they are taking their time with polish application and cleaning. Also, it's really only just the two of them. So, while walk-ins are welcome, they do prefer appointments so as to make sure to have enough time and technicians. Also, the husband is the only one who speaks decent English. The wife and mother try, but sometimes they have to ask the husband to explain. Just be okay with a small language barrier. They are very sweet and interested in what you have to say. Final downside, and I don't know if this is because I was a walk in or it was a hot day, but the water was a tad cool. To be honest, it was refreshing on such a hot day. A lady came in soon after me and they did warm it up for her, though I'm not sure how much. Give them business and watch them blossom!! They have the making of a great nail salon. Had my first of many visits last weekend! All I can say is WOW!! The care that Paul and Helen took with my feet and hands was out of this world. And so far a week in the polish looks great! The price is right and so is the location. Also, it is best to make an appointment since it is only the two of them providing the service. Edit: 5 weeks later and they still look as good just grown out. Will be going back today. read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews but after my visit I feel like it's needed for the future customer I came in with a very simple request and very respectfully and was treated disrespectfully and was overcharged for a very simple set and the shape came out atrocious and the application was very unprofessional as I was cut multiple times and had my nails filed VERY roughly explained my set the wife talked to me rudely and treated me like I was dumb mind you I paid $80 for the set ( I have reference of what i wanted, and what i got...) read more

I went in with a messed up toe nail. I injured it back in February hiking and it finally fell off. They were able to fix it and make it look normal, no problem! They were able to get me in same day. It is just the two of them so you should call ahead. They have a great selection of colors, are very talented, and are reasonably priced! Also, unlike some other salons I've been in, this one is very calm and relaxing! Would highly recommend them! read more

My cuticles were in terrible shape, they brought my skin and nails back to life. Dropped in on a Sunday morning and was warmly welcomed by staff members. Price points are better than a lot of places in town. It's nice to have a good nail spot in the North Valleys. I will be going back, I didn't get the women's name who did my nails, but I would trust the others, they all were very meticulous with the care they took with their customers. When you go in for a manicure and pedicure, in a new place especially, you never know what you're going to get. What you get charged rarely ever is worth it and it can be really disappointing because many places spend half your relaxation time trying to get you to up-charge for a service that quite honestly should just be included for what people charge these days. This was NOT my experience at Golden Valley Nails. It's run by two very sweet people who I assume are a couple, they are kind , friendly, and take care of you from the start. The pedi was amazing and they didn't up-charge for callus removal or the amazing foot massage she did, she even used hot stone. The manicure was just as wonderful and she did an outstanding job . I highly recommend them but with fear they will get super busy soon ! Thank you golden valley nails ! read more

My first time here and I wasn't disappointed. Quiet yet clean shop. I read the bad reviews and ofc I still decided to go in. I can see why some said the owners were "mean" but honestly, that's jst how they come off as but it definitely isn't intentionally. The guy is actually very sweet but when he does nails, he can come off as agressive but he really isn't. The lady (his wife) focuses on the nails and does her job (she isn't ignoring you). If you talk to them, they will talk back. Some people just are too sensitive and take everything wrong lol 10/10 would recommend and I will be coming back. Ty Golden Valley Nails! read more

Oh. My. Gosh! I came in for a fill and a pedicure after recommendations from a community page.. I had a full 2 weeks of growth and the last set I had gotten from another place was so thick and not well-shaped. I realized Paul was doing an amazing job of fixing them and I thanked him for his extra time and attention to detail and he kindly said that he noticed they needed to be fixed but wasn't going to say anything. He checked with me every step of the way, color, shape, length and matte/shiny finish.. then Helen started an amazing Golden Pedicure (with the bonus of some of the nicest massage chairs) and switched off to help another guest that they knew by name while Paul finished. I mentioned to the other guests that I was in for the first time at another recommendation, and both ladies said I would never want to go anywhere else. They were right! I've found my forever nail spot, supporting a great husband/wife team who are local to Golden Valley. I arrived for my appointment a few minutes early to have a pedicure and a fill. Paul does my nails but for some reason his wife did my pedicure today. First of all she's not a friendly lady...she was very rough scrubbing my feet. when it came to color, I told her it was a tossup between two colors and would she mind trying one color on one toe and if I didn't like it could we try the other one and she said yes. Ended up I didn't like either one and I told her they looked orange and I don't do orange. She started arguing with me about the color and said it wasn't orange that it was pink and then all of a sudden it wasn't pink. It was red then she told me to choose a color or I would have to go without color this time. I said "you know what, I will pay for my pedicure and leave". So I did just that, she didn't bother to take the polish off and I paid $35, for bare toes, I didn't get my toes or nails done, NO TIP, and I left. I will NOT be back. They are both very rude and unfriendly. read more

It's a Latino driven shop. They have pedicures, deluxe and VIP. I got the deluxe I wish now I got the VIP for $5 more to receive the paraffin wax . The range is $60-75 for gel and $5.00 for decoration. I was there for a hour and half, Isela took her time. She can do free style art work or stickers. I chose the stickers. The place was spotless and they asked if I like a small bottle of water which is always a nice touch. I paid with cash not sure if there was a credit card fee or not. No discount for cash. The Technician was very gentle sometimes I do prefer the cheese grater for my winter callous, but otherwise, I'd go back, but I'm always on a mission to try different nail salons in the area.

She did my nails and they were ok very rushed they looked sloppy on the French she gave me she took no time to make them look good they were ok. Now my thumb nail is lifting and I never get lifting its very rare. I wont be going back. Very disappointed in the quality and customer service I received. They also cost me as much as a full set.

Vibe was pretty typical for a nail salon. I walked in and they were able to take me after 15/20…read moreminutes, which was pretty quick! They said they will take walk ins when they can, but prefer appointments. Joshua did an amazing job on my pedicure, removing several ingrown toe nails with NO pain. I have never had that before it was amazing! They seem like they keep thing pretty clean and I got the a deluxe pedicure for $45 and gel polish for an additional $15. A luxury that I would go again for!

We arrived but early to only 1 other customer in the place and were promptly seated. Hot water and a foot soak started. I sat there as the water got colder and colder while my wires pedicure started. When I asked where my person was she said, "I do her first, then you" mind you the place was empty and this was 2:30 in the afternoon. Frustrated i almost canceled mine but continued. She rushed through both of us and now 2 days later I have 3 toes in pain because she cut my nails too short. The pedicure was painful and rough. She messed up my wife's polish on her toe nails too. Find another place, I'd never go back here

Brytnii took amazing care of my hands and feet and taught me so much about how to care for my sad nails. Brytnii knows her stuff and I feel like crying because I can now see a way forward with my nails. The difference before and after is mind blowing! Seems like a small problem maybe but I am so pleased and relieved with everything during my manicure and pedicure. This is a darling place, that is super clean and welcoming. I love Brytnii!!
