I chose the deluxe pedicure for $45 (they also offer a step-down option for $35). The service included a scrub and a really nice massage. Paraffin wax and hotel towel treatment was at the end. SO nice and well worth the price. There were about 6-7 technicians working, so they're clearly equipped to handle walk-ins, and they take appointments as well. Fave pedicure place the area. Not fancy, not intimidating and they do an immaculate and thorough job. I live and breathe by Mum's pedicures. I go to her. My guy goes to her. We used to come together for pedicures like a cute little day date but since there's only one Mum and we will fight over her we come back to back now. I've also brought my guy's sons here and they LOVE it. I always make an appointment because they get BUSY but I have seen them squeeze in walk ins. Color selection for gel is really good. I wouldn't mind them getting more newer options since now I feel like I've seen them all but to be fair I do the same two colors every time. read more

Poor Workmanship and Customer Service! Moved from out of state and thought this would be a good place but NO! I had a very disappointing experience at Nails Design and Spa and want to share so others can be aware before booking. I went in for acrylic French tips on my hands and toes (acrylic on the big toes). Angie was my nail tech. The work was uneven, overly thick, and poorly done. When I politely pointed out concerns during the appointment, I was told it was "just the way my fingers and toes are," instead of the issues being corrected. After leaving, I went straight to another salon in Birkdale, where they immediately confirmed the mistakes and fixed everything on my hands but didn't have time to fix my toes. When I contacted Nails Design and Spa to address the issue, getting in touch with the manager was difficult. I was hung up on twice, cut off while trying to explain, and made to feel like I was at fault for raising legitimate concerns. I was also told that acrylic lifting on my toes after only two weeks was "not their problem." When I went in for the refund, the manager and staff spoke about me in another language in front of the entire salon, which was very uncomfortable. I originally paid $130 (including tip) and was refunded $110, so I'm still out of pocket and now have lifting acrylic that needs to be fixed again. Plus it took some arguing in front of everyone to even get that amount back, which is embarrassing and not a position I want to be put into. read more

I received a gift certificate here and I will no longer go anywhere else!! I have been to a couple of salons in Cornelius and I've had the best results from here. My nails lasted 17 days before one of my ring fingers chipped. I work with dogs and constantly washing my hands and the dishes. 2+ weeks is amazing! Nina was very efficient and nice, all the ladies were. I've been coming here for years- today though I had an appointment for 4:45, I sat in the chair for over 20 minutes while the water got cold. Then the nail tech came over with a box of tools from her station. It was a red flag that they weren't clean- I should have left, but I'd been there so long I figured I'd stay. She was aggressive and rushed then took a used buffer from her station and buffed my toenails. She did a good job painting my nails BUT then I watched her take her tools and maybe rinse them quickly and immediately use them including the buffer on the women next to me. I will never return and I hope I don't get a fungus. Nasty. read more

My go to for my pedicures. I didn't realize I hadn't reviewed them until this last visit. You know how you first try a place and you're kind of underwhelmed but your gut tells you it might really be good so stick with it? Yeah that's what happened here. I've found that to really like a nail salon it's all about finding the right TECH FOR YOU! It's almost like the person who does your hair - it's personal to YOU! Well it took me nearly a year but I finally found 2 different techs that are right for ME - and don't you know I forget one of their names but the other is Katy! A few others I had butchered my feet that left me with scabs from snipping too close on my cuticles and what not. But then there was Katy and "Tech #2" (until I figure out her name) LOL and now I can enjoy my pedicure and not be nearly hysterical with anxiety on if I'll need the urgent care afterwards. Lol These two take their time to work their magic and well my feet as cute as they get them need a lil magic in their life. I'm plagued with super dry skin that manifests itself greatly with my feet My lil toesies (is that a word) are ready for a magazine spread when they get done. Yayayayay It's close to me being located right of Catawba in Cornelius but pick the right time or your stuck in traffic. I usually go shortly after they open at 9:30 on Monday or Tuesday- it's tastefully decorated and clean including the bathrooms. I wish they would separate the pricier polish from the regular as I've picked one a time or two and didn't know until afterwards that it was $5 more so now I know to ask. The owner or one who seems to run the show could be a little friendlier but I can get past that now that I have my two fave techs. But I do feel like with nail salons as plentiful as rocks you might want to make me feel special lol and remember to ask if I want a beverage instead of me asking all the time. Good pedicure and service overall. No "above and beyond" besides the hot towels which could put me to sleep! They have a huge fridge toward the back of the room but didn't offer a drink and I was very thirsty which is the main thing that really sets nail salons over the top for me. Decent job on nails but I asked for long, almond acrylics with a reference photo and got short round. She cut my nails very quickly so I didn't have time to let her know it was too short. Was told price was determined by length but paid the same about as my friend who got much longer than I did. Had to wait even though I made an appointment a week in advance. They let us know they were short staffed so I understand, but definitely not my favorite set of nails. Polish missing in some places, decent shape and nice color-- but just not what I asked for. I've been coming here since I moved to NC from Texas, and to say I was disappointed by my service yesterday would be an understatement. This has ruined my whole experience with this salon and I will be looking elsewhere to avoid an experience like this again. I made an appointment for a regular french tip manicure, the only service I have requested since coming here. Last night my nail tech was rude and clearly rushing through my service. This resulted in many poor quality nails that I very kindly asked if they had time to fix. The whole time she lectured me about how it's my fault that I didn't do gel (I never have). "It smears because it's regular... Its still wet when I put on the top coat .... This is why you shouldn't do black color...." After sitting through this I just had her finish the worst ones and gave up on asking her to fix all the bad ones. I had enough of the service at this point and was willing to leave unhappy with the quality of my nails to save myself the embarrassment of being publicly lectured further. I feel like it is important to note that I never once spoke back to her, and kept a soft tone. I wish I could say this was the worst of it, but theres more. They usually have you sit for 10 minutes so I keep track of the time, but only 2 minutes after she finished fixing my nails she told me to get out. Mind you there was still over an hour until close, and I was just sitting under the fan in my own bubble of peace. I was absolutely stunned and asked if she was sure because she just finished and they were probably still wet, she said "well you wanted regular." This is a service I should not have paid for, luckily for her she made me pay and tip BEFORE she started. read more

I gave this salon several chances. I came every 2 weeks for several months because I like to establish my business in one place, but today was the final straw. They do a fine job on your nails if you keep an eye on the work and point out any issues, but every employee here seems so incredibly on edge. I can be particular, so I thought maybe it was just me, but the little old lady beside me even got reprimanded by her nail tech. She snapped at her telling her that her job is to watch tv and not interfere with her manicure! I was given a few minutes to select my color while my nails were wrapped, I asked the tech to help me Find a color I had pre-selected, and he laughed and said if I couldn't find it in the bin then he doesn't know what to tell me...saying colors "aren't his thing". If colors are not your thing, then manicures probably shouldn't be either. Anyways, as I was leaving they charged me over 10% more than every other visit because my nails "were longer". Again, I used to go every 2 weeks, like clockwork, and had the exact same thing done. How were they longer this time? I don't know if management is making the employees here miserable or what, but there are so, so many nail businesses in the area. This is not one that I will revisit under and circumstances again. I am being generous with 2 stars. Don't ruin what should be a relaxing, fun activity by coming here. read more

Attitude is the opener of a service. At Nails Design you don't see/hear or feel it. The mail tech responded " I know " to a question, "I know " it's a comment not an answer to a question I asked. I asked her a question - since I wasn't knowledgeable about the services they provide - and her answer was "I know". Additionally, the quality of the products are bad: the nail polish is so old, that after an hour or so of waiting, the nail polish hasn't dried out yet. I got a regular manicure, regardless of the type of manicure I got, nail polishes shouldn't take that long to dry out. read more

This was the absolute best pedicure I've ever had. My feet were in the 'too far gone' shape so I paid for the best one I could get and I expected a great job but not a miracle. I got the later. I got SNS for my manicure and ended up asking for something they had never done. Instead of saying no we don't do that like most places they were determined to figure it out. First...because of the pandemic, I will tell you the staff and owner are extremely diligent in keeping the flow of customers to a minimum. Temp is taken at the door and they immediately ask you to wash your hands. Plexiglass is set up at each station. Excellent staff and comfortable setting. I'm not going to lie--I hate that I have to wear a mask and get my temperature taken and pay an extra $5 "COVID tax," but it is not the salon's fault. My sister attempted to do a walk in appointment, twice, at this place of business. Both times, the owner personally turned her away. She was told that they do appointments only. Meanwhile, the sign on the outside of the door says "Walk-ins Welcome". They just didn't seem interested in providing service to people of a certain color, or customers that don't to spend under 40 bucks. My sister wrote a Google review on the same day she was turned away. The owner responded with shade, instead of an apology. If given the opportunity, do not patronize this business. First time visiting this nail salon was on New Years Eve. I booked an appointment because I knew it would be a popular day, but they do accept walk ins on less popular days. The facility is very clean on the inside, and the staff was so welcoming when I first walked in. Nina ended up being the one who did my gel nails, and she was so awesome! She was meticulous, very personable, and she made sure my nails looked exactly like I wanted them to. This is prettydecent if you need a last minute pedicure. They can almost always take you and the staff is friendly. Summer more experience than others however.You may have to pay attention and not scald your feet in the boiling tub, and let your tech know if you have a slight ingrown as some of the techs seem new-ish. The owner does an excellent job but seems to be unavailable, not doing nails most of the time, for whatever reason. This place was really on point when the previous owner Sarah was working and was great the first 6 months the new owners took over but I think the energy of the area has sucked them in a bit. Clients here can be more tolerant and I think it's easy for businesses to get complacent. Still, it's a beautiful salon and appears pretty clean, color selection is good. Easy to get an appt. We tried Nails Design on 3/31 for the first time and will definitely return! The staff was so wonderful. They were all so nice and we enjoyed chatting with them as we got our manicure and pedicures. The work was perfect. My nails have never looked this good. I got a gel Manicure and regular pedi and and my daughter got regular mani and pedi. The facility was lovely too, so much natural light and no acrylic smell at all, very well ventilated. We live in Mooresville but will absolutely make the trip back to Cornelius.
