It was two days before New Year's Eve when a couple of my girls were out shopping with me and we were quite busy in preparation of the big day that was fast approaching. Oh, all the things we had planned for that night! As soon as we had grabbed the outfits and accessories we were going to wear two nights from then, we decided to get a mani pedi. I always hate going to a nail salon alone, it gets so boring after the small talk with the polite nail technicians runs its course. With this in mind, one of my friends suggested a place not far from where we were, a place called Lee's Nail Salon. My friend mentioned that this was a great family business with plenty of space for all three of us. I responded with "let's do it" and we were on our way. Lee's Nail Salon was barely two blocks from where we were, but with the amount of shopping bags we had in our hands, it seemed miles away, Samantha quickly signaled a cab that immediately stopped for us. We hopped in and told the taxi driver to drive up two blocks on the same road; he gave us a confused look but stepped on the gas nevertheless. As soon as we got there, we hopped out, paid the driver who still had that same confused look, and laughed our way into the salon. As soon as we stepped into the salon, I observed how well organized the place looked. Everyone was busy doing their job, while a friendly looking woman was busy at her desk answering phone calls, and it seemed like she was setting future appointments. I immediately turned to Amy who suggested this place, and asked whether she had the appointment set for us. The look on her face suggested that she hadn't but before she could reply, the lady, who was taking appointments, overheard us, and said hi, approaching us with a smile. With a knowing look, she turned to Amy and said, "Honey, did you forgot to set the appointment again?" We all chuckled at our forgetful friend while the lady led us to a seating area, saying that the girls would be with us shortly. We set down out shopping bags, relieving our hands of all the heavy lifting that we'd been doing that day. I couldn't believe that this place had an open wine bar; we signaled a girl to pour three glasses for us. We barely had to wait five minutes when three polite nail technicians approached us with their tools, and asked what we would like to get done. I told them that we wanted three mani pedi I and they immediately began prepping us for the procedure. The girls were very friendly and occasionally cracked jokes that had us all giggling. I couldn't decide on a shellac color so the girl asked me if she could freestyle. After I approved, she asked me what I would be wearing on New Year's Eve. I showed her the dress, and then I saw the magic that these girls were capable of. The result was absolutely jaw dropping - seriously the best nails I've ever had done. They were still intact a week later and look great. The pedicure was also done right, not a single nail chipped, and they really had vast range of colors available in both shellac and normal nail paint. It was a day before my brother's wedding day. The preparations were in full swing and everyone was busy in making arrangements and playing their part to create the perfect day for the couple. I had all my main preparations for the wedding complete, all I had to do was get a mani pedi, dress up and arrive. But I had gotten so engrossed in everything else that I completely forgot about my mani pedi appointment, which was three hours ago, and that wasn't even the worst part, time was already short and that place had been near my house but quite far from where I currently was. I was practically biting my nails thinking about what I would do, when I quickly reminded myself that perhaps, it wasn't the best idea considering I may not get a mani pedi at all. I think I was being too obvious about my predicament because Amanda, one of the bridesmaids who'd come to visit my brother with a message from the bride, approached me and asked whether everything was okay. I think she had noticed me pacing up and down the hallway of our home. In reply I sullenly shook my head and told her my current situation. She smiled in reply and said, "Is that it?" I protested that it was a big deal and that I won't truly be ready for the big day. In response, she pulled out a card from her purse and made a call. After a five minute long conversation with someone named Lee, she turned towards me, beamed and said, "You're all set!" She explained that this is her neighborhood and that she had build a good rapport with a talented aesthetician in the area, and she had set an appointment for me 30 minutes from now. I began jumping up and down and was thanking her for saving my life, just as my brother came downstairs. She hugged me and said, "You better get going, and here is her card for the address, it's just two blocks away. And I set the appointment under your name so just walk up to the counter and don't sit in the waiting area." I got ready and was on my way to Lee's nail salon in less than five minutes. I had arrived 10 minutes before my appointment but I got in and approached the counter anyway. As I was walking towards it, I noticed how classy this place was. The place had a relaxing ambiance, was well lit, with soft music playing in the background. I asked for Lee, the woman looked at me, smiled and politely said I was speaking to her. I told her I had an appointment for a mani pedi, she went through her list and said, "Ahh, Amanda's emergency case." She signaled a woman in her early 30s, and told me that she is the most talented aesthetician in the house, and that I will be well looked after. She sat me down on one of the many sofas, handed me a glass of wine and began her work swiftly yet expertly. As she began working on my cuticles, I was convinced that I was in good hands. After a splendid two hour session of both manicure and pedicure, it felt as if a great weight had been lifted off my shoulders. This place is more than 45 minutes away from my home, but the way Lee had treated me in my time of need, I will most definitely be glad to drive all the way there! read more

It was Saturday afternoon, I had just dropped my son off at his martial arts class thought and I thought would visit this nail spa my friends were talking about. They had come here a few times and both times, I remember my friend saying that the staff was very friendly, quick, professional, and did a great job with their nails. They did take walk ins but I thought it was best to call ahead of time for reservations as they always seem to be packed on the weekends. I already had their card, my friend had given to me, I called to set an appointment, and luckily they could see me for a pedicure in 45 minutes. I strolled around a bit, had a cup of coffee at the diner when it was finally time for my appointment. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment and the salon was already packed and bustling with customers, the place was very cheerful and the ambiance very calming and light. The phone was constantly ringing. And the owner was busy taking the calls, scheduling appointments, leading clients to their respective seats, assigning staff, and seeing clients out. It was a busy place. The place is quite big, the immediate area as you enter Lee's nail Salon is where the clients gets pampered, as I went in further, I noticed the place was big enough to cater to a group of friends. This salon had various high-end nail polish brands to offer. After I was seated the amount of choices I had overwhelmed me, and I ended up choosing two shades, a glitter and midnight blue. I couldn't wait to get started. It was great of them to serve complimentary beverages, and an open wine bar. As they placed the pedicure bowl next to my feet, I was offered a bottle of water. I decided to soak my feet in the bowl filled with water and other herbs. It was of the perfect temperature, not too hot, nor too cold. After the nail polish was applied, I was directed towards the drying area, where there was a glass of candies on display. I liked how the owner had given her salon a cozy feel. Its definitely a place I enjoyed getting my nails treated. The girls were so friendly and cheerful, and quite pleasant to talk to even if you went there alone. The entire session lasted for about 50 minutes; the highlight of the pedicure session was the amazing foot massage with a scented lotion. The massage strokes were firm, deep, and slow that almost made me fall asleep. It was indeed one of the best massages I've ever had at a nail salon. Oh and by the way, tip in cash. Their bathroom was really nice. I love the ambiance and the décor. Also 3 words: Heated Toilet Seat. After fifteen minutes, I was done and got up to make the payment to the friendly owner. I saw several brochures lying there on the counter. I picked one up to check. It was elegantly designed and had offers and deals that were good to save money on multiple treatments. Since my experience here was so good I decided to fold the brochure and keep it in my pocket. I'll be sure to come back for more pampering! read more

I believe it was Friday afternoon when I first visited Lee's Nail Salon. I had just finished shopping for the party I was throwing. FYI, it was a themed party and I needed to buy myself a dress that matched with the ambiance I had created for the party. Everything was ready and I was about to head home when I remembered I had to get my nails done. With rush hour traffic at this time of the day; I wasn't able to go to the place I usually go to, when I happened to come across Lee's Nail salon. I quickly opened the door and went in. I was first surprised at how suddenly everything went quiet as the door closed behind me, all the street noise and the honking of rush hour traffic suddenly stopped. With such a hectic day as I had spent planning for my party, quiet was exactly what I needed. Don't get me wrong though, the place was already packed. I saw the kind lady behind the counter setting appointments and taking payments. She signaled me over to her and politely asked what I would like to get done. I told her I wanted to get a manicure. She nodded and told me that it would've been better if I had called first to make an appointment. But it wasn't going to be an issue as she was going to squeeze me in after they were done, and she pointed out the two ladies who were seated near the window sipping wine, and chuckling at something. I was told to have a seat and had to barely wait 30 minutes until it was my turn. I noticed that everyone here was very polite, courteous, and respectful, along with being busybody. Everyone seemed to know what they were doing and some were having conversations with the girls, Lee's Nail had a nice atmosphere, the kind I would love to visit again. When it was my turn, I was called politely by my name by a girl, who then led me to my seat; which I might add was extremely comfortable. After exchanging pleasantries, she began to wash her hands thoroughly and then proceeded to prep me for the procedure. After which she began arranging her files, implements, and tools on the table towel on top of the working surface so they were easy to reach. I was awed at how expertly she began the manicure procedure; there was finesse in her hands as she removed traces of old enamel by using a piece of cotton moistened with a remover. After the enamel was removed from all my nails, she reached for the grit file and began filling my nails from the outside corner to the center of my nail; avoiding the back and forth movement across the free edges. She clearly knew what she was doing. I, then, chose the color of the nail polish which was then applied precisely the way I wanted. As my nails were drying, I was handed a glass of wine carefully so as to not disturb my nails that were drying. All in all, I walked into Lee's nail salon as a last minute resort to a manicure, and I walked out a loyal customer. It was Monday and I was already two weeks behind my regular manicure appointment. I remembered that a friend of mine had suggested a nail salon she frequently visited. The way she'd been praising it, I decided to try it out. I called to book an appointment and a very sweet voice answered the phone; and since I was starving at the time, I told her that I would be joining them in an hour for manicure, regular pedicure, and a paraffin wax. After having a hearty lunch at a local dinner, I headed toward the salon. I took my time getting there, as I still had 20 minutes to kill. I window shopped along the way when to reach Lee's nail salon just on time. As I entered the salon, I felt immediately at ease, because it had the type of environment I was used to. The salon was very well organized, with an impressive collection of nail polishes along the wall. The manicure tools were neatly lined along the table. I approached the woman sitting at the counter. She politely asked me if I had booked an appointment. I gave her my name, and she signaled to one of the aestheticians. I was led to a sofa and was asked to remain seated while the girl prepped the tools and sterilized them. She was back in less than 5 minutes with the tools and set them down on the side table. She asked if I was sitting comfortably so she could get started. I said I was, and she set the bowl down for me to soak my hands. After my hands were adequately soaked, she got started on my cuticles which had grown back over the last couple of weeks. The aesthetician I was assigned, expertly handled the tools and she seemed like she knew exactly what she was doing. She then started giving a sensual massage on my hands up to the elbow, which was divine. Then she asked my preference of the mask, I wanted to go with seaweed this time, so I told her. Then the pedicurist came up to my sofa and politely greeted me and began prepping me for the pedicure. She filled the tub with water with just the right temperature, hot but not scalding. Then she began adding essential oils and bath salts into the water, which had a therapeutic effect and relaxed me further; I almost fell asleep. After this, she began working on the cuticles followed by filing. This was done with extreme care, as I had mentioned my nail chipping issue. The massage was done with firm hands and I felt my leg muscles loosening up, a sign that it was good massage. Of all the choices I had with the color of the nail polish, I chose a royal blue to match with the dress and shoes that I planned to wear to a party; the range of nail polish colors, however, kept tempting me to change my mind. The paraffin wax I got at Lee's was conducted with extreme care; the temperature of the wax was perfect, hot enough to bear, but not hot enough to burn. It was a beautiful Sunday morning. My friends and I had all gathered up after a long time and we were ready to cut loose! We had our entire day planned out, all the things we were going to do to make up for lost time; all our itineraries crammed up into one legendary day. We were all very excited when we all finally met for breakfast. After a fulfilling breakfast and cappuccino, we were on our way to the mall, where we shopped less and window shopped more. We all a list of the gorgeous little accessories we wanted for the upcoming beach party, All of us girls got cute little shorts, skirts, and tank tops. We made an entire morning out of it, and soon, it was time for lunch. After lunch, we all decided to go for a mani pedi. As we were walking down the street, we decided to go to a place nearby called Lee's Nail salon. Two of the girls had already been there and wouldn't shut up about how great it is, and the best part about it to them was the open wine bar they had. But I was more interested in how good they were at their job, to which they assured me, it would be one of my best experiences so far. I decided not to argue and started walking in that direction. Since it was lunch time for most people, we called and got a group appointment immediately. It was only a 10 minute walk from the place we had lunch at so we decided to walk. As soon as we entered Lee's Nails, we gave the name we had set the appointment for, and were led to our tables. We had asked for both; a manicure and a pedicure. The staff was very polite and friendly; and I felt immediately at ease, as the confidence of the staff was what made me feel comfortable. They smoothly prepped us all for our procedures, and they seemed to know what they were doing. In fact, I had seen them do a few neat tricks I never saw at my old nail salon. By that time I had forgotten all about where I used to get nails done, all I knew was that this is where I would come to get my nails done now. I always had an issue with my nails; they always seem to get chipped for no apparent reason when I picked something up or when opening the door. But most of the time it happens when my nails are being filed. I told the girl who was working on me about how weak my nails were. She acknowledged that this was the case, and assured me that I had absolutely nothing to worry about, and that I was in good hands. She then proceeded to work on my nails ever so delicately that I was immediately sure she knew what she was doing and that she would keep my beloved nails safe. And after the procedure was completed, I checked every corner of my nails to see if they were chipped, but there wasn't any sign of damage anywhere. This is when I decided that Lee's nail was the salon for me. For now and forever! read more

I had recently moved to a new apartment complex and was now in search for a good aesthetician near my residence. My regular aesthetician was more than an hour and a half away, and considering the traffic I would encounter on the way, opinion decided that was no way to treat my hands and legs. So I began asking around my building to get an idea of the local salons. A sweet young woman who lived down the hall from me suggested Lee's nail salon, and was singing praises of the place. I asked her if she could guide me to it. She explained the route to me, and said there are other salons in the area and Lee's is a bit far, but totally worth it. I began walking in the direction of the salon. It was barely 4 blocks away from where I lived. I decided to call and set an appointment, my neighbor was kind enough to give me the salon's card. A friendly voice answered the phone and I said that I would like to set an appointment for 20 minutes from now. The lady on the other end chuckled and said, "You got it, see you soon." The area I lived in is quite pleasant and safe; so the 4 block walk did not bother me too much. I reached Lee's nail salon in less than 15 minutes, and as I entered the salon, I was taken aback at how impressive the set up was. The atmosphere was relaxing, chatty, and a lively one. It reminded me of the place I used to go to. I walked up to the counter with a knowing smile and the lady behind the counter, recognized me as I said hi. She looked at the watch and said you still have 4 minutes left, but got up nonetheless and led me to my chair. As I got seated, out of nowhere, I was handed a glass of wine. I took it and had a look around. I noticed the open wine bar, but more importantly, I noticed their jaw dropping collection of nail polishes, and viewing all the shades they had, I got lost for a moment. The place seemed very well organized, and the person who seemed to be behind it all was Lee. I had set an appointment for a manicure. One of the manicurists approached me, and as she began, I told her that my nails tend to chip. She smiled and assured me that there was absolutely nothing to worry about and that she was the go to person for all nail chipping issues. After which, I complimented the wine I was drinking, which happened to be quite good. The entire procedure was expertly done. The girl who was working on my hands took her time with it, and might I mention that she had great attention to detail? Overall, the experience was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep on my chair. Most definitely, this is the type of salon I can see myself going to, for a long time. read more
