I booked online a few weeks in advance and selected first available for manicurist. After checking in I was asked to wash my hands and then pick out a color. I had a general idea of what color I wanted but wouldn't have found the perfect shade without help from the front desk worker - thank you, girl!! I was very surprised to see so many people bring in their own polish. Apparently that's a thing. My appointment was scheduled for 2:30 and they led me to a spot to start soaking at 2:38. Things officially kicked off at 2:45. I really liked who I was paired with, Frida. She was so sweet and made sure I liked how short she cut my nails, asked if the water was hot, etc. just paid attention to details. The massage that I got as part of the spa package was heavenly. And the final look of my toes was *chefs kiss* I left wondering why I didn't do this all the time. In total my appointment was 1 hour (from when Frida started). It didn't feel rushed. When I scheduled an appointment for a fill I again had to give a deposit . I had to reschedule and was asked for a deposit again. I was concerned I would be double charged so checked my credit card statement and saw that I was double charged for my first appointment as well as double charged for the fill appointment which had yet to even take place. That is aside from the fact that the fill appointment I made was not even in their system. I was transferred to the owner Tyan who was very aggressive in her communication with me, did not want to repeat her name and became combative when I asked again for her name. She agreed that I was errantly charged but was aggressive in her tone and attacking me over their errant charges. All 4 charges were also a different amount. Given how she was handling the situation I told her I didn't feel comfortable working with them and just wanted my card credited and would not come back. She did not care at all and said fine and that she'd look into the charges to see what happened and would then correct whatever needed to be credited. I will now have to contact my card company to dispute the charges as I have no faith they will credit me. She also asked me to send a screen shot of my card statement....who would possibly do that when they've demonstrated their inability to manage cards properly. The owners response and lack of concern and no apology is appalling. Beware and check all your charges if you plan to continue providing business to this establishment. I don't leave reviews but this warranted one and will hopefully help prevent others from having to deal with this nightmare.

I'm not a regular but North Shore is where I go when I want to have my nails done. Today was very disappointing. I felt rushed I had to tell the young man he was being too rough. I wasn't provided pedi slip ons and now I get home and my pedi is smudged. Also looking at my finger nails I can see that there is still polish on my cuticles and there is a cut on my finger where he used the nail trimmers to remove polish. Appointments are great, but walk-ins are welcomed too. Ask for Sona she's the best for your beauty care needs. They offer salon services from hands, toes, eyebrows, and eyelashes. It's clean, inviting, and provide great customer service. I recently got my eyebrows microbladed with my mom (Mother daughter day) and I was impressed with the results. Microbladding is semi-permanent and last 12-18 months. It's about a minimum two hour process and requires two sessions. Be sure not to wear any make-up or facial product the day of the procedure as the numbing medication may not work effectively. During the process, it felt like tiny little scores sweeping across my eyebrows or like lite shots back and forth. It tingled a bit but not painful. The after care is important in this procedure it's about 7 to 14 days with applying ointment and staying away from the sun exposure, anything excessive like exercise, sauna, steam rooms, etc. I can't wait to show these off!

I generally just opt for a 'polish change' or 'polish only' instead of getting an entire manicure. I find the result to be the exact same and it's of course cheaper that way. All of the techs I've had do a great, clean job with nail painting. Never had a result I didn't like! Most recently came in for a dark polish on my finger nails and she did a wonderful job in 15 minutes. The salon itself is always clean, but it's certainly outdated. Could maybe use a little upgrade in that way, and maybe a little lower on the intense overhead lighting- just mini suggestions on making it a little more spa-esque. It's tucked into a little shopping strip off of Santa Monica, so it could be very easy to miss. Give this local spot on your next mission to get a mani/pedi!
