Solid experience at Nailtastic. My friend and decided to get pedicures on a whim so we just stopped in. Luckily they had they space to fit us both in right away. First impression was that the salon on is bright, clean, and well-kept. We were kindly greeted and directed to pick a polish from the color wall in back. So many options that it was hard to pick! Ultimately I went with "pina colada" which is a a pale pink. I love it. The service was very enjoyable. I went for the second-tier pedicure, called premium. It includes a foot soak (loved the hot-hot water) , nail shaping, cuticle detailing, exfoliating scrub, callus removing, hot towel, lotions, foot/leg massage (best part), and a polish. It's $49 for this but and additional $15 dollars if you want gel polish. That seems like a steep price for such a small upgrade in my opinion, buuuut of course I did it anyway. All and all a good experience at Nailtastic. Will likely be back soon! read more

I've been here a few times and earlier on had a very good experience. One day I walked in recently (in the past year) and everything had changed inside: the tables were rearranged and it looked like new ownership (turns out it was new ownership). I had a couple of folks I had seen when I went before, but they had left. One of the nice things is that most of the time I'm able to get service quickly for nails and my most recent visit was no exception. One time in the past couple of years I've been I've had to wait (but it was during the holiday season and there notably busier). But the past few times, I felt the quality had gone down. One time the woman who did my nails didn't seem to care and finished too fast. Then the next time, a man had done them, and they were ok, not as good as in the past and started to chip and flake sooner than usual. I just went in again, and someone else was there entirely and we'll see how this last one turns out. The prices were also higher. There was no soaking, etc., like they did before. I'm not sure what is going on but the atmosphere is different; not as friendly and not the same. I'll probably try somewhere else the next time I need my nails done. So it took a little over an hour and a half. I got the dipped nails. Picked my color based on the powders they have on the wall, the only problem is the powder itself looks different when applied, so I ended up with a color I don't like at all. On the bright side, Karen did a beautiful job cleaning and filing my nails. She is a straight up perfectionist! Last time I got my nails dipped they used so much powder my nails looked like the fake acrylic, this was much better!! It would have been great, the man doing my pedicure was amazing and paid attention to detail. My only complaint was the women (manager I assume) repeatedly came up to me asking if I wanted additional services or add ons. To me, it felt like she was trying to get more money out of me. At check out, she told me I needed to pay with cash through their ATM, and I did not have a card allowing for that. I was nervous I wouldn't be able to pay and tried all my cards at the machine, when nothing worked I asked if there was any other way I could pay and she accepted my credit card through their machine...I believe this was another way for them to avoid paying the fees associated with credit cards at their shop. I have to give it 2 stars because it USED to be our favorite place to get our nails done. I make an appointment each time, and while they continue to put us in a chair fairly quickly, the actual pedicure has been terrible the past two times, with this last service on Saturday being our last here. My daughter and I went regularly through the winter, and experienced a very nice, non-painful pedicure. The past two pedicures have gone downhill, as the second to last chipped off paint within the day, and I have never had my toes looking that rough again so quickly! This weekend was the end for me-the technician took my cuticles back way too far on multiple toes, and dug into the side of the skin around each nail on the first foot. I told her that it hurt and she apologized multiple times-but continued. I told my daughter out loud that if it hurt one more time, I was getting up from the chair. She slowed her hands down and used much less force with the tools. As our toe nails dried, there was blood around the nails on 3 toes, so I decided we would not be going back there. I've read the most recent reviews and maybe they did change management that brought a shift to the workers, but either way we'll find a new salon-there's no lack of them to say the least! read more

I really liked this nail salon and its convenient location. This was my first time patronizing this nail salon. I don't live in Wisconsin but when I return to visit I will go back to this location. Tony did my nails so beautifully and when I returned the next day because a rhinestone fell off soon after I left my appointment Tony happily repaired it and secured the rhinestones on my other nails just in case. I must say I felt the cost for what I wanted was a bit pricey but the customer service was so excellent that I believe it was worth it and I even left a considerable tip. Thanks Tony! read more

This is definitely my go-to spot to get my nails done. Each technician I have had, has been great. The place is really clean and I've never had any issues. I was also offered complimentary beverages. They have a deal where if you pay cash, you get a percentage off. You get a card and they hole punch it. Then each time you come in you get a bigger percentage off. I came in and asked for a regular polish manicure as I am getting engaged today. The nail tech was rude about me getting regular polish so she started jerking my arm around while applying lotion to it. I had surgery on my chest yesterday and asked her to stop because of pain and she laughed at me. She handed me me a bunch of colors to choose from and the one I picked wasn't regular polish so I asked which ones were. She kept telling me to hurry. I picked a color I only half liked because of the rushing. I hated it and it ended up being extremely see through. I asked for a 3rd coat so it wouldn't be so see through and she said no. The glitter in the polish is purple/black and on the swatch it was definitely white which now my nails just look dirty. Not to mention her absolutely tearing up my cuticles because she was going so fast. This was just a really poor experience especially considering I am getting engaged today and wanted pretty nails. I really wanted french tips for my birthday. i don't want to sound rude, but the nail artist I had couldnt do that. I feel like it's a very common request. it's not the style i'm worried about, it was the outcome. my nails are a uneven length. my thumbs are jagged, and when i asked for more color on the sides she said it was a bad idea and didn't do it. i feel bad wiring this review but i spent $75 (plus tip) on uneven nails. she only filed down one of my hands at the end so the other hand was all full of nail clippings on the underside. i never received the end moisturizer either. i've been going to this place for a long time, but this lady was quite unprofessional. i wont be going back and i don't recommend this shop to anyone who wants their nails done right. read more

I got my second dip manicure at this salon. First one was PHENOMENAL. I initially loved my second one as well. Not sure what happened with the second. 2 nails broke within 3 days so I made an apt to have them fixed for 3:30 that Sunday. 50 minutes past my apt time I asked when I was going to be seen and the lady had clearly forgotten about me. I was then rushed through my fix and the same 2 nails broke the next day. I am not unfamiliar with dip manicures and get them regularly. I have never had this experience and when I went to have it remedied I felt like an afterthought and inconvenience to them. People go to salons for an experience and to feel special. I went 2 other times and had a different lady (I think she was the owner) and each time got progressively worse. I have loved this location for 2 years. I live in the area... today I went to get a pedicure and full set, I had a scheduled appointment. I waited to be called and apparently no one was available. There was a man who came in late with kids and apparently was going to do my full set. He sits right in the front which is the first desk. I showed him what I wanted as I normally do with the ladies when I come get my nails done and they help me pick the color that I'm showing. In this case, the picture I showed was off white, ombré . I told him initially I wanted to keep my nails and not do fake nails this time. He told me no, I have to do tips since my nails weren't long enough, I said ok. Although really wanting natural nails instead. I sit at his desk to start and I show him my color again as he asks what color I want. I said off white.. ombré. He tells me no. He can't do it. I state every time I come here, they were able to do ombré for me. I even showed some pictures I had of my past nails from this location by other ladies. He tells me he can't find the color (but never even looked) so I sat in silence as I looked for other pictures. I then ask him if they had white... an off white with no ombré. He says yes but doesn't show me the options. At this point it become frustrating because he seemed very rude to me so i asked was there was someone else to do my nails because i LITERALLY never have issues here.. ever. He states no one can do it, turns off his lamps and I still sit there lookin for other options. Before I know it I'm saying again, I never have any issues with getting the color I want, especially an off white. He goes into a rant about how I'm uncomfortable with him doing my nails etc etc which wasn't true. I wanted my nails done correctly in the color I'm asking... he then asks me again what color I want and how I didn't even look at the nail colors. I state normally when I come in, I am given the nail colors on the ring but no one even gave me one so I didn't know what else to choose. He gets up and grabs the ring with the nail colors then Next thing you know he gets his kids, and tells the fellow co workers he's leaving because I don't want him to do my nails. I feel like he just didn't feel like doing nails and he tried to bully me into picking another color I did not want. His whole attitude was shitty and quite frankly, as a repeated customer I no longer am interested in even coming back to this place if they will have him there. I live in the area, I've been coming here for 2 years and everyone seems so nice. I tell people about this place because I love it so much but today a bad taste was left in my mouth off a simple off white color request.... I've never seen him before and y'all picked the wrong person to represent your salon. After he left, the other workers asked me what my request was. I told them off white and then was told no one was available to help me at this time. Mind you, my appointment was at 5:30 and no one got to me until 5:45 and no one knew i even had an appointment for a pedicure as well. I go on a trip tomorrow. This place was very clean and the technicians were detail oriented. It was bit more pricy then other options in the area but I felt a solid value for the attention. I did a pedicure and powder drip for $80. The downside was this took almost 2 hours which is longer then other places but explains the detail. I've been on the beach for a week without chips or any issues so I'm definitely satisfied. In addition the technician was friend and made the time pass with conversation. I started going to Nailistic upon the recommendation of a friend after a bad experience at Magic Nails down the street. I've gone to Nailistic for several years now since they opened and have been pleased with the service until today!!!!! I went in for an Express Manicure and was taken right away, which was great. I don't know the nail tech's name she never introduced herself but each person coming in after me she commented on in a language I didn't understand but I felt like she was wishing she was available to do their service, (?more costly service - possibly bigger tip)", etc). I even asked if she was talking to herself as she quietly mumbled in an unknown language. She reassured me she was talking to her coworker. A woman came asking if she could get an eyebrow wax and the woman doing my nails told her to be seated. When she had a moment in my service that I was asked to go wash my hands, she also told the other customer to proceed to the Waxing Area. As I return to my seat to be polished, the nail tech is waxing the other lady. Do I ask, "where did she Go?" Her coworker said "she went to wax the other lady, it will only take a few minutes." I said it would only take a few minutes to polish my nails too. Is her time more valuable than mine? It does NOT sit well with me. Others may not mind a bit but if you are going to interrupt services the current customer Should Be Asked, "Do yo mind if I take care of her? It will only be a few minutes.....". It is called NAIL CARE - take good care of the person who has the nails, and they will leave a good Tip. At least I always do. No tip today!!!!!! BEST MANICURE I'VE EVER GOTTEN! Angela is by far the most talented nail tech I've had - and I've gotten my nails done all over the country while traveling for work! Angela is so careful (especially with trimming cuticles and using the drill around your cuticles), very friendly, patient, she listens to what you want and actually makes it happen, and she checks in with you as she goes along. I wanted a very light ombré using dip powder, and she perfected it!! Her work is flawless! My nails are thick enough to where they are strong, but they are thin enough to look natural. If you're interested in acrylic, I can tell she'd do great work as well! (I took my photo before she put oil on my cuticles, but she definitely finished with that and a massage!) I also had a pedicure done by Amy and she did an excellent job as well! She was careful as well, and she took her time with my scrub, massage, and polish application. Before putting my polish on she made sure I was happy with the shape, and I was! She took her time with my massage, scrub, and polish application. Had acrylics put on a few weeks ago, the first application was satisfactory however two days later I woke up in the morning and I had two huge pieces missing from my thumb nails! I went back in for a fill to correct the unexpected breakage I was given the same person which they explained "would teach her what went wrong and have her fix it". I can't vouch for her at all having a degree as a nail tech because what I got was a very unsightly "turtle shell" mound of a fill. It felt like globs on my nails. In addition, there was no compensation ie. reduced price for the fact that it was her error in the first place. If they are going to have novices trying to learn proper nail care and design, at least give a price reduction. Unimpressed. read more

While I was impressed with cleanliness of the salon; however, some members of the salon staff and some of clientel re very judgemental, nasty and like to spread gossip about paying customers who are transgender. The owner seems to condone transphobic behavior. I think the owner and the support staff should be trained on Milwaukee County's public accommodations ordinance which includes gender identity as a protected characteristic. So much for treating all customers with dignity and respect. read more

I have never had a bad experience here and all the technicians spend a good chunk of time on their work making sure your nails are PERFECT. 5/5/23: First and last time at this establishment. BEWARE and stay away. I'll never in life go to this 'establishment' and will make sure that EVERYONE that I know is aware of the lack of professionalism here. Know that if their WiFi goes down you will not be able to pay with any kind of credit card. WiFi went down today....I was told that I could pay via Venmo or cashapp. I told the UNPROFESSIONAL staff person that I had cashapp and could do it that way. So then the staff calls someone and tells me that CASHAPP isn't something that they have. So I had to leave and go to an ATM. This isn't even the worst part. I went to this 'establishment' for a manicure and a pedicure. The manicure is one of the worst I've had in my entire adult life. I request a powder dip for manicure. I get this for a very specific reason: SO THAT I DON'T HAVE TO EXPOSE MY HANDS TO THE LED LIGHT. Each time I've gotten it, I've NEVER had to put my hands under the light! So TODAY the nail tech that knows limited English (giving me like warm water when I asked 3x for hot and never got the hot water for the pedicure). Due to the language barrier, other staff members had to repeat things to her or help us communicate what type of service I wanted (even when trying to pay). Nail tech puts a GEL polish on my nails as the finish then prods my hands to the LED lamp... what?! No. I verbalize my concerns to what I learned was someone that didn't have the mental capacity OR enough professional decorum to handle the situation. What she was able to do though? Hover over me like a helicopter...when I asked if she was looking for something she claims she was trying to look at my nails. Common Sense: you could've asked to see my nails, I would've shown them. What did this nonprofessional staff person have time for? To argue me down in front of her so called 'customers'. Are you REALLY arguing over MY personal space? She was a walking/talking joke. What did she also have time for? To give INACCURATE information as to how I could pay for the lack of service I did get today. In a word: BITCH. read more

Nope. Prices on website are far outdated and barriers to communication cost me over $30 extra even after bringing this up. Premium pedicure, but calluses weren't removed and massage was weak. For the manicure, I provided a photo of a natural-looking pink and white ombre design with a sport/flat tip. Manicurist began to cut pointed tip and had to file nails back when mistake was caught. Instead of a natural look, I was given a pink dip that was not natural-looking at all (she offered to cover up all of the ombre with a solid shellac color). One nail was malformed, two others had bumps and all of the nails are very thick and fake-looking. When I tried to communicate any fix, it was misunderstood each time. I felt like she just wanted me out of the chair. I left a good tip for both techs, but I am sad to say my business here is done. That was so much money to be left disappointed on my once per year treat. read more
