I live nearby and needed a pedi so tried this place out. Karen greeted me and had me take a seat in a pedicure chair. I realized within minutes she must be Karen. This was due to the fact that she spoke to her client continuously about other clients the entire time I was there getting a pedicure, about 30 minutes. I used to go to Nails by Karen a lot but after the last pedi I got, I think I'll have to find another place. The guy who did my pedi started to scrub my heels with one of those purple pumice stones and he wasn't paying that much of attention because he kept scrubbing my ankle skin too until he scratched my skin and I was lightly (very lightly) bleeding from the scratch he made. I had gel on my toes but that time I decided that I wanted to get regular nail polish. I was getting the same color as the gel polish I had on; he probably though that he didn't have to completely remove it so he didn't file evenly my nail bed from the previous gel I had. For this reason I was left with a "bump" on my nail bed because he removed only a part of the gel I had and then he couldn't fix the bump he made by applying regular nail polish since it's not thick like a gel polish. I'm pretty sure that he did see that my nail bed wasn't even but he didn't say nothing. He proceed in applying the regular nail polish. Worst thing is that it's been only 6 days now and my toes already look dirty and I need another pedicure. The nail polish is popping off from some of the corners, one of my toe nail broke and if I get really close to my nails I can see that the polish is applied in a bad way, it's full of bumps and my feet just look crusty. read more

I had a terrible experience here. The workers made me very uncomfortable and made me feel like a burden for getting my nails done at a nail salon. I asked for a simple design of a few lines and you would've thought I asked the woman to draw the Mona Lisa on each of my fingers. She constantly huffed and told me how long it was taking (even though I made an appointment and showed the design before she began). The end result was nothing like the photo I showed her and I ended up going home and removing the entire set myself. The owner and some of her employees are horribly rude, callous and clearly need lessons regarding customer service and how to generally run a business. I booked an appointment there at 9:30 AM.. after waiting for 15 minutes I asked if they were aware that I had arrived. The owner indicated that she was aware, and that the girl I had booked with would be arriving shortly. After 20 minutes she arrives without any apologies and sends me back to her table. She applied too many coats of gel polish, and my nails were thick and sloppy looking. The owner walked over to her and was checking out her work. They began talking back-and-forth in Vietnamese and it was clear that they were talking about my nails but never included me in the conversation. She caused a scene and was being dramatic by having the entire salon look at my vehicle due to steam coming from the engine on a cool dewey morning, telling me it was broke down and asked me if I was going to get it towed Lol. I clearly got the feeling that she enjoys embarrassing people and trying to make them feel less than. The whole experience made me recognize the bad will and inappropriateness of the owner. She definitely holds prejudice over some and then not for others and that is always a bad way to run a business. TREAT ALL CUSTOMERS FAIRLY AND WITH THE SAME RESPECT! I will definitely go back to Nails by Karen. I was a walk in on a Saturday afternoon. I didn't have any wait. I got a gel manicure and pedicure. Cayden (sp?) was wonderful. Very nice, did a wonderful job, and didn't rush. I love how my nails look, love the color, and the prices were extremely reasonable! Nails by Karen has been my go-to place for pedicures for many years! Karen is lovely and always manages to squeeze me in for an appointment, even when I call at the last minute. Weekends tend to be busy, to try to make your appointment in advance. I highly recommend a pedicure with Kenny if you're ticklish or have sensitive feet. At previous spas, I would get an infection almost immediately after having a pedicure, this has NEVER happened at Nails by Karen. They are clean, professional, and efficient! I had to use a salon that I normally don't use to get my dip nails changed... Not only while she was doing them I could tell that she was not trained properly. Whenever I left there my nails got caught in my hair because they were not smoothed out... Not only was it a poor manicure... within a week I needed to get another fill because she did not use enough dipping powder. My manicure is usually last three weeks I am shocked that I had to get them fixed up a week later. Not worth my time or money if anything it gave me more aggravation going to the salon. I honestly could've done a better job myself... And I know this for a fact because whenever I was locked up for three months during Covid I did order dip and attempt at myself.
